In this post, we present SSX, disc 2 in its entirety. We thank you for your patience as Password and I translated the tracks.

I am especially thankful for Password’s efforts in translating track 3, 4, 6 and 7. I have added his name just before the track titles to denote his contributions. It’s great to have other people participating in the truly epic amount of Sound Stages that MSLN has produced.

As of this moment, SS02, SS03, SSM2, StrikerS SS02, StrikerS SS03, StrikerS SS04 and SSM3 are still untranslated, barring a few tracks which both OrderNorChaos and I have translated.

There’s still quite a distance to go. I invite anyone with the time and ability to help us translate and correct any mistakes made.

After the Storm

Caro: After the Marine Garden Fire was safely solved. It became big news (a scandal) when it was revealed that Enforcer Runessa Magnus was responsible/involved with the Mariage Incident/Case. How she had managed to use Toredia as a red herring suspect in the serial killings/murders, how she interfered with the investigation and destroyed evidence… How Enforcer Magnus had managed to personally perform/carry this out and who was to be held responsible became a central question for the TSAB and her direct superior Tea-san. There was great criticism/controversy and calls for severe punishment were made because of Enforcer Magnus’s plans and the Mariage attack on the city. However those who had acted to prevent the incident were not punished.
And thus, little more than a month after the Mariage incident/case. Teana-san who had been staying Mid for so long…

Teana: It took awhile, but thank you very much for you help, Ginga-san.
Ginga: Thanks for your hard work, Teana.
Teana: Zafira is returning next month, is he? Too bad, I wanted to learn some new things from him…

Not as addicitve than the opening song for Animelo 2007, but not bad at all.
I couldn't hear Nana voice at first, until she made her solo part and I realized she was singing very high (to match Yukarin voice I guess). Very nice combination really, great duo! I like how Nana acts a bit more "childishly" (jumping and stuff), when Yurakin seems more focused on the singing.
Bonus point granted for the close-up when they are holding hands (I'm so picturing Nanoha and Fate at this point :heh:).

Hello everyone, these are OrderNorChaos's translation of StrikerS SS02, track 1 - 4 with minor corrections. I just listened to the tracks to make sure that they are correct. The vast majority of the translations were correct, I didn't even need to tweak much.

In any case, I decided to repost with corrections.

01. A morning with Nanoha and Vivio

Fate: The little girl that was secured together with the relics on that day of the emergency mobilization, Vivio. As an artificial mage, she had no parents, no relatives and no place to go. It is in that condition, the first person she met when she woke up, was Riot Force 6’s tactical instructor and also my best friend, Takamachi Nanoha. It is due to this encounter; Nanoha has gotten surprisingly fond of Vivio and has decided to be her guardian until a more suitable arrangement can be made. I also offered my assistance as a second guardian. And so….

If you think too much text is onscreen at any time, consider breaking the lines. But, since nothing else of significance is onscreen, lots of text might not be as big a deal.

Good job again. But try not to have single-word lines if possible, they don't look good especially if the line(s) above them are long. Manually set the line breaks to deal with this if neccessary.
You're not using a fade out effect on the text, are you? Also related to the text, allow the longer lines to stay onscreen for a while after the speaker finishes if possible (if no other speech gets in the way, for example) Give the viewer more time to finish reading.

Hi everyone. I've only gotten myself involved into the Nanoha series a month, first watching all the 3 great series (DVD Rips, the best quality, LOL), then checking the side-material manga for each of them, then I went after the Sound Stages, as I wanted a lot to get my hands on StrikerS X.
Due to that, I'm so thankful of your work with the translations of SSX as I'm right now in the middle of Disc2 (I must say I was expecting a little more of action as well as some appearance from any of the 3 girls (N.F.H., lol)).

But the real meaning of this post is that, even knowing this is may not be the real place to post this request, I decided to take a chance because of the people here making translations...
I have the Nanoha Nano A's & StrikerS (and I must say I LOVE THEM!!! AHAHAHA!!!), but I also wanted the SSX Nano (the raws from the official site are not enough to me T-T), and I thought that, if it had already been scanlated, maybe any of you who wander around here regularly might knew something about it.
So please, if anyone knows if it had been scanlated, say something about it, OK?

You managed to get the subs timed to the audio, that's most of the work already. Next, join the audio together to form a single track and do the same for the subs. Is the black background a true video or a placeholder provided by youtube? If it's a true video, then you have all the components you need to form a softsub mkv already.

Where to begin.

Let's begin with Investigator. Another word I could have used was Forensic Analyst (which I used once in SSX somewhere) or simply Analyst.

The kanji comes to 'kanshikikan', roughly meaning; judgement; judgment; discernment; discrimination; having eye for.

It gives the feeling of someone who looks closely at a scene. I choose investigator probably because I couldn't remember what term I had used previously in my translation.

The next is Enforcer.

The kanji comes to 'shitsumukan', roughly coming to mean; performance of one's official duties.

I believe that Enforcer is a investigator of internal affairs or of the like within the TSAB. But it's hard to say, the anime, manga and drama cds were never really clear what the heck they do.

I had toyed with the thought it meant flag officer or commissioned officer of some sort. But by then, I had translated 'shitsumukan' as Enforcer in practically all my drama cds.

And now, summaries! Even though my knowledge of Japanese is limited at best, I think I can understand the basics of the scenes. Here goes nothing:

Track 01: Intro by Shamal, nothing really special that I can pick up. Just talking about the Yagami-ke in general.

Track 02: Shamal arrives home from shopping, Rein and Agito come to greet her in full-size mode (or as Agito dubs it 'helping around the house' mode) Rein also mentions something about 'lately' but I'm not sure whether she says it has become easier or she has been in that mode a lot lately... Turns out that while they do fight a lot, the two of them get along just fine.

Track 03: Signum and Vita are relaxing in the sun. Lazy Vita is lazy. :p Shamal talks about them a bit, nothing we didn't know already. Vita's instructor bit is mentioned again, I think. She asks where Zafira is, Signum answers he's at the usual place. With the kids.

Track 04: Babysitter Zafira! Zafira is training (well, training, sounds more like 'playful training') with the kids at the beach. Shamal notes that while at home or at work, he's usually in wolf mode. But when with the kids, he's in human mode.

Track 05: While Shamal is away, Rein and Agito are cooking. They seem to enjoy it a lot. They talk about the eating habits of the other Wolkies, but they're using a lot of words I don't understand, so I can't make too much out of it. Signum is noted by both to be a bit problematic, if I hear correctly. Also turns out Vita and Rein are hamburger freaks. The two end up displaying their rivalry in a mini cooking match. Something with carrots, I believe.

Track 06: Hayate's late, Vita is worried as usual, but quickly comforted by Signum. Agito proudly steps up to the two to announce her victory, with a rather disappointed and protesting Rein in tow. Looks like challenges like these are common between the two.

Track 07: Shamal is taking a walk and encounters Hayate, she was late because of... something I don't understand... Hayate seems confused about what I guess to be why everyone was supposed to gather today, a shocked Shamal asks Hayate if she has forgotten. Hayate is puzzled, and a cutely upset Shamal reminds her that today is the day they're celebrating the the year anniversary of Hayate's recovery. They reminiscence about the past a bit.

Track 08: Signum and Agito talk about Hayate, whom Agito addresses as meister, while Agito is cooking. After Signum mentions how Hayate's dinner always was delicious, Agito wonders why Signum is so... having trouble with the word here... ajionji or something. I guess something along the lines of being picky? Signum responds rather indignantly. Agito lets Signum taste her food, which Signum likes. Vita and Rein are busy outside, and Rein asks Vita for the reason Signum doesn't want to eat everything. While they're talking Zafira returns with the group of kids. The kids are being treated to Rein and Agito's fruit punch. The question gets asked to Zafira, who wonders whether or not he should talk about it, to which Vita very quickly gives permission. Now here is where things got blurry for me again, but I think Zafira says something along the lines of Signum only liking that which her family has made. I'm very hesitant here though.

Track 09: Hayate returns, and Agito immediately greets her with meister. She seems to be very respectful to Hayate. She digs a cake out of the fridge, which turns out to be a cake from Midoriya. Shamal is not too happy though, as she intended the cake to be a surprise. Dinner begins soon, and as expected everyone enjoys the food, and at Agito's request they talk more about Hayate's past. Mostly casual things.

Track 10: Agito and Rein are in high spirits, which sounds very cute. Hayate is relaxing, and is joined by Zafira who has returned to wolf mode, saying he feels more calm in wolf mode. Lots of things I can't understand here, but they're talking about Zafira carrying Hayate on his back. Zafira doesn't mind at all, even if she would ask to do so now. Nanoha calls, congratulating her recovery and sending greetings from Arisa, Suzuka and Fate. They talk about rehabilitation, and it seems Nanoha received a ride as well.

Track 11: Agito, Rein and Vita are happily floating in the water. A small bit more reminiscing, and he rest join them. Agito and Rein get a bit too excited, and manage to flip over whatever they were floating on, sending them toppling over and sparking a bickering.

Track 12: Shamal has another monologue about the Yagami family, it ends with everyone going for a swim. Shamal passes though, seems like she doesn't like swimming a lot.

All in all, this sound stage was filled to the brink with casual Yagami family. Highly enjoyable, even with my broken Japanese missing out on half of the actual content. It certainly makes me thirsty for more, the Yagami's are shooting up in my list of 'things I would like to read and see more about.'

Shamal: If you head away from Midchilda city proper to the suburbs, and a little towards to the south. A place that is somewhat removed from the bustling city where you can see the sea from high above.

There in that place, is where our Yagami family home is located. Our family head/master Yagami Hayate-chan, and every member of the Yagami family is busy with work every day.

But sometimes, we want to take a break and all gather together as family. If it’s for a happy event or important anniversary, we always do without fail. Today is an anniversary for Hayate, it is a very important day.

Only now I found that to keep that promise I made on the Manga Thread and actually finished hearing the M4 CD. Too bad, people got ahead of me here. I am just going to point out a few bits that stood out for me:


The thing with Signum is that she does not tend go out of her way to find proper food for herself (so much that at work she pretty much lives only of "power jellies" (some sort of energy drink I think) and ration bars:heh:). According to Zafira, that is because she believes small happiness such as having a good meal are only worth when you share it with those you care about (in this case, her family), thus she does not see much point of doing it alone. Still, that behavior of hers seems to have slowly started to change since her partnership with Agito started.
It seems that Rein sense of taste for food is something she took straight from Vita.
It seems that Vita is good at dealing with Rein and Agito's antics, just like a big sister should:D.
After her accident on the field, Nanoha did rehabilitation together with Hayate.
Arisa seems to have a liking for organizing parties and big events.


As my final thoughts: as expected M4 was pure fanservice. But at least it was an actual story and not that "postcard reading" bull we saw in the prior 3 M CDs.

Rein: The large appetizer/large bowl is niku jaga (meat and potato) with carrots.
Agito: Salad is a large plate of summer vegetables, main dish is fish! ALL GOOD! They bought a good one for us, so we’ll make one half teriyaki and the other half salted (shio-yaki: Salted and grilled).
Rein: That sounds good. Ah, and for dessert we can make a fruit punch!
Agito: Oh, sounds nice and cold.
Rein: Zafira and his friends will be coming by too.
Agito: Let’s do it! Oh, it’s definitely a lot more fun making food for lots of people!

Btw, does anyone know when SSM4 takes place? It seems to be some time not too long after the end of StrikerS, but it's not clear exactly when. Apparently it's the 10th anniversary of Hayate regaining the use of her legs, so being able to place it would tell us how long she took to recover...

It seems that the Yagami-ke (mostly Rein, probably) has had quite an effect on Agito's demeanor. She's even more excitable than Subaru... :p

Well, we know Hayate has already recovered around the A's epilogue, which is four years before StrikerS, and we know she had done rehabilitation with Nanoha, who recovered from her injuries seven years before StrikerS. Now we don't know whether or not the two actually were declared healed around the same time, so SSM4 could take place anywhere three to six years after StrikerS.

So Hayate regaining the use of her legs: Somewhere during MC 068 and MC 071.

Time of SSM4: Somewhere during MC 078 and MC 081.

According to leoheart, Hayate could only walk by her own after she reached 12. Hayate mentions that she was in Primary Six at that time and SSM4 is the tenth aniversary of her full recovery.

So if Hayate was 9 in 2005 (MC 065), her full recovery would then be when she was 12, aka 2008 (ooh, last year) or MC 068. With this, we can deduce that SSM4 occurs during MC 078 or 2018, when Hayate is 22.
