I hate Tessa...i think she's ugly and her voice is soooooooo annoying. I lyke Chidori...she's funny, and i think she's way better lookin then Tessa.
I'll have to go with Tessa, I like her bubbly flirty personality and shes my type and I'll probably go after her if she was a real person and I was a little younger. As for Kaname I like her a lot but I can't understand why she has to be so mean everytime Sagara does something inappropriate. She doesn't have to wack him in the head so much shes giving him brain damage.

if chidori appear in other romance anime where the male character is a "normal" person then she will become perfect girlfren.
but actually i don't hav any idea for people around sagara should respond when sagara do the "military" weird things except WHACK him with that "cute flirting weapon" with a clear "Phhhhaak!" sound
As cute and sexily drawn as Chidori is, Tessa is much better. Besides, I like female with power :) .

Mao is cool. Her attitude is pretty funny and attractive.
I voted for Tessa, cuz Kaname's like a hick at times, plus i really dig people with high-authority and white hair.

chidori kaname. The closest person personality wise to Naru from LH. both tessa and chidori looks great, but i like chidori's personality better. I dont like ppl who fall over all the time and needs help 90% of the time shes around.

Chidori definitely. Tessa's cute, but I don't really like her attitude that much. And I agree with chii-persocon about Ren. She's about as hot as Chidori is.

oh man I want to vote both for chidori and tessa! I think both of these are pretty good exept chidori lacks that bit of cuteness in her - well mostly it's because she's too busy hitting sagara with that fan of hers. So yeah I vote tessa even tho both are just as good.

I don't hate Chidori, but I think she goes too far with hitting Sagara with the fan; most of the time he doesn't do anything to deserve it. If I were Sagara I'd pick Tessa, I don't know why anyone would date a person that smacks them everytime they do something that the person doesn't like; that's called abuse.

Tessa's all cute and innocent but her attitude really bugs me, and you just got to love the times Kaname whacks Sagara with her piece of paper (she's got to have an iron bar in there somewhere), thus sending his head groundwards at an inhumane speed. Besides, she's got blue hair. :D Cheers.

I accidently voted Tessa without thinking (Freudian slip?) lol.
I spent the greater half of FMP trying to decide which one of them was cuter, and it was a pretty tough choice. I guess I would have to split the vote for the two. It's true that Chidori has the whole stars-r-meant-to-be-together thing going for her, but I think Tessa's just as valid. I actually saw her little voice and vulnerability interestingly complement her amazing abilities in controlling the Danaan. Kudos to her.

I only own the english version but that voice, makes me feel light as feathers :)
i haven't seen an alternative version to her voice so i can't really criticise anyone for saying that she sounds annoying.

Damn dilemma is what it is....
If I had been an animé-char, I would probably have chosen Tessa - appealing to both eye and heart and male protective instincts. Then again...Chidori triggers a sort of excitement - beautiful, strong and energetic (and sometimes plain scary ;-). On the other hand we have (as commented by my esteemed collegues above) Mikihara-chan - serene and beautiful but with a scary family. Outside of the poll there is also Mizuki - a little simpleminded, conceited but lively, pretty and probably not boring...
This bears further contemplation...as the snow is falling outside the windows...

I personally like Tessa but I've been thinking and Chidori isn't that bad, she's ok for looks and even though she acts that she doesn't care, she does care. If I was sousuke... I wouldve picked.... crap heres the hard part XD how about pciking both >.> but in the novel he picks Chi.. and makes Tes.. sad... =(

Ever since the school trip incident she KNOWS the he is a soldier and that hes got DUTIES for fulfil. Which means that he cant always be with her at school and what not. Yet she get mad at him every time hes away on a mission.
Another thing which really ticks me is the paper fan abuse, she punishes him like a war psyco everytime he does the *danger is near* thing. She does that even after learning for Mao and others during her stay on TDD-1 about the kind of life and death shit hes has to put up with SINCE CHILDHOOD.

What is it with the paper fan dislike thing (altough it's a bit overused). It's the only way to get sousuke understand something and it doesn't seem to hurt him (most of the times) :heh:

Sofar i have only seen 5 eps of "TSR" and it's way better than the first season.
I have always been a tessa:love: fan, because chidori is getting on mine nerve.
Her part is (sofar) always the same, smack sousuke. I hope that in the rest of the eps, chidori's role chances somewhat.

Too bad previous posts about the fan issue got deleted... Simply put, it's comedy. Tired, used and sometimes, still funny comedy. And this wouldn't be the last time female characters hit their men when the so-called need arises in anime.
Tessa fans seem to talk about the fan swinging issue a lot, while Chidori fans can't get used to Tessa's voice or her tripping tendencies.
Her part is (sofar) always the same, smack sousuke. I hope that in the rest of the eps, chidori's role chances somewhat.
Actually, with that mindset you can argue that every character has been more or less playing the same roles they had from day one...

Chidori/Tessa potential flamewar aside, am I really the only one who loves Tessa's voice? It could be a sentimental thing I guess. That was the first time I ever recognised the voice of a seiyuu. Ribbon-chan is Tessa! I don't like Kaname's voice so much- I think it's overly butch- I mean, I guess it fits with the character and everything. But so does Tessa's voice, and it's nicer on the ears. :)

This is actually a really tough choice (its not a stupid poll at all, really). I chose Mao after considering multiple reasons why each character is special and important to the series as a whole:
Their roles in the series:
While Chidori is seemingly the most important because of the strength she finds within herself, as well as the strength she gives to Sousuke. However, it is Tessa who is the wise, intelligent mastermind who guides her soldiers to safety when they are in danger. Mao is a very independent and courageous spirit, serving as an inspirational older-sister type figure for Tessa and Kaname.
Voice Actresses:
All three characters are blessed with three very beautiful and very talented VAs: Yukino Satsuki (Kaname), Neya Michiko (Mao), and Yukana (Tessa). In terms of VAs, it was very hard for me to decide between Neya and Yukino, but I would end up picking Neya because her voice has much more range and scale.

Because of this, I reckon that people who watch FMP! in it’s English-dubbed form are more likely to like Tessa than if they watch FMP! in the original Japanese. This is especially true when watching the series for the first time; first impressions are hard to break. Personally, I watched the first season in English, then re-watched it in Japanese with English subtitles. I’ve only watched Fomoffu and TSR in Japanese with English subtitles though.

This one is a toughie.....
For all purpose reasons, I'd have to go with Tessa. She was cute, smart, and somewhat clumsy even the in the ship she helped design... I found all of those quite funny and a that gave her the edge against Mao and Chidori.
Chidori, well, she gets on my nerves a bit too much. She has that somewhat annoying factor that irks me a bit when I watched FMP. when I watched it, she seemed a bit over the edge for me. The Captain is Tessa really seemed to shine while Chidori seemed to... be... a bit much as a character.
Mao may be kick ass, but Tessa is still the top in my book.

Personally I find Mao the most interesting of the three, but it's a little silly to include her in the poll since she's not really part of the whole thing. The real question (as ever) is which do you like better: Tessa or Kaname? In that contest I think I'd have to give Kaname the edge, but just by a razor thin line.
Well, the newest poll is the other one (first post dated December 2005), the voters are almost equal, and Tessa is behind by 13 votes. Maybe I should bump the other poll and campaign a bit :p

guys. I keep getting tired of seeing Chidori or Tessa in pretty bikini's and swim suits. The only time you see mao is the last eps of FMP1, and the hot springs one in Fummoffu. Give mao a chance!.
