It’s time for a Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Favourite Characters Poll! Please note that the poll is just for the first series of Nanoha, we'll be holding separate polls for the second (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's) and third series (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS, once it airs).

This poll is a multiple choice poll and while we won’t restrict you from voting for every character, please try to limit your choice to your top 3 or 4 picks if you can. If you like the entire cast equally, then so be it, but if you can narrow it down a bit, then that’s even better. If you like one character the most, then don’t feel the need to vote for anymore.

Since xris said so, I guess I can vote more than 4 then (sorry but I can't resist :uhoh: )

My choices go to:

Takamachi Nanoha : She really matured for someone her age & the responsible type too. I admired her so much.

Fate Testarossa : Very devoted child to her mother no matter what.

Yuuno Scrya : Eh? What can I say? I love cute boys. :heh: His ferret form is even cuter~♥. I want to have him as my pet. :heh: (I thought he's a girl at first. Got me fool there :heh: :p )

Chrono Haraoun : Not as cute as Yuuno but he's much cooler :) Also a balanced fighter. I think he can do healing magic as well. :eyespin:

Tsukimura Suzuka : Of Nanoha's two best friends, I like her the most. She got that Onodera Karen's voice (Onegai Twins) that I like. And she loves cats (Me tooo! :D ) I really can't leave her out of my favourite list.

Takamachi Momoko - Nanoha's mother. Who wouldn't love this understandable mother? :cool: I WANT HER!!! :heh: (it's not that I'm not grateful for my mother. I love her too :) )

Takamachi Kyoya - Nanoha's brother. He's so cool looking. :cool:

Takamachi Miyuki - Nanoha's sister. She's pretty, IMO. She looks graceful but when she got weapon in her hands, she ROCKS! :D

The Takamachi's family is very nice indeed. Makes me feel that I want to be part of them. :)

Nanoha and Fate for me.

Nanoha - i liked how fast she learned and developed her magical abilities. Didnt take her a hundred years to get something working right. She outgrew Yuuno in no time. And she showed a lot of initiative and determination and never whined about her situation.

As usual, Nanoha and Fate are obvious.

I figure Precia will take some explaining. Ok. First off, although I do hate her, that's part of the package with a villain. It's when they show even more resolve than the heroes that I start to like them dispite how evil they are.


I seriously don't think Nanoha, Lindy, Fate, or anyone for that matter could defeat her, even if they all teamed up. And the fact that in the very end when she could have went on trial and tried to start over with her life again, she chose to gamble on her dream. That had me in tears it was so beautiful!



When working in game design, I took a strong policy that the villain must always be able to be seen as a hero of sorts if you skew your beliefs and understand them. Really, she has no less resolve than Nanoha. She truly believed in love.

Nanoha Takamachi - In the Beginning, Nanoha begin as a Sensible Child, Lolicon powa :D , When she meet Yuuno and help her (who him take an animal form), and Nanoha feel the magic in the beginning... Feeling that Magic Use is Easy? No Nanoha is determined to protect those who she shares the most... And Use Magic With every causes... After she feel difficult and mostly when she encount Fate, we know her little by little until the moment she really alone, that she gives her more and more reason... And after she determinated to finish with precia and get Arf help... No One can stop nanoha rage and... Her Friendly moment... She really need a Friend and Peace... She Shocked, she's the best Character... And Because I'm Fan of Yukari TAMURA

Fate Testarossa - Have you feeling to be alone and sad? Battle with a Sad face but hiding it because you don't want to make sad your truly most important person? Fate is one of them. Fate causes was difficult to understand on The Beginning... She Gain Charism and Strength... But Her Heart was Very Cold but not of her fault... That after Arf explain her past little by little and her feeling that we join Fate Cause... And after we know better about Precia, we really want that Fate will be Free one Day... Fate is a sensible Character... And Nanoha save her from the Death... Now Fate own Nanoha and together... They are best friend but also Nanoha help Fate to Grown up.

Hmm, for the first season, I'd say Raising Heart and Bardiche. They just about made the show for me. The way that they anticipated commands and actually helped in battle was just great.

ahh Decision!!!, both Nanoha and Fate are my fav's but if is based on Season 1...I'll have to go with Nanoha-Chan ^_^

Nanoha - a full developed character with loving and care for her friends and enemies as well. She can see through people's eyes and know how they feel. Even if the enemy doesnt care about Nanoha, Nanoha still intends to show her kind heart to them. Nanoha likes to meet new things and people, this is one of the things I like about her.

Fate - A daughter who is loyal and never stops to achieve something until the goal is met. She gives everything she got (including her life) to her love ones in order to meet that one goal. She is someone like Nanoha who cares for others at the end.

Fate and Arf. I like Nanoha too, but I wanted to get Fate's vote count closer to Nanoha's.

Fate: Its mostly her badass attacks, but she's adorable too.

Arf: Hot! And wolves are badass.

Fate, Amy and Nanoha... if I'd realised that Lindy was so far down, she's probably my fourth. Poor woman has no votes...

I do admit to feeling sorry for her tea, though. Milk and three OR MORE sugars in green tea?!

As for my reasons...

Fate is Fate. She's so tragic and beautiful as a character. Through the first series, I kept thinking... "please don't kill her, please don't kill her. She deserves better." Well, they didn't kill her off, and I'm definitly in favour of Fate.

Nanoha develops well, and I love how she breaks the mould on the concept of helpless heroines with competent allies who still can't hurt the enemy until she gets emotional. She not only has competent allies, but is more than competent herself. Not to mention her smarts - modest as she is, she's a fair genius both tactically and academically (she has better results than the two rich girls, after all...)

Amy Limietta... well. What's not to like? Hm. Except maybe the arrogance about the Arc-en-ciel. Which was kind of justified, I guess. Information specialist, gossip, researcher, secretary, wife - an appreciable list of achievements. Probably the only character in the show with a higher IQ than the heroine. (I'm putting Fate on the same level or slightly below, since Nanoha was out-pacing her in the season 1 godmode fights, and you certainly didn't see Lindy, Chrono or either the Wolkenritter or the Bridge Bunnies coming up with it.)

Pretty obvious first two choices: Fate #1 Nanoha #2. Reasons don't really need to be stated at this point I think, I pretty much agree with the sentiments thus far expressed by everyone else :)

Number 3 however, had to be Arisa. The slight tomboyishness, a cute character design, and I absolutely love her voice. She may not be a major character as such, but that doesn't matter in the slightest, she still rocks :D

For this first season, here's my top characters from what I remember watching ages ago.

1. Nanoha - She's a good girl but watch out, she's terribly powerful.
2. Fate - Tragic life she had, cool personality, and really badass.

For sure, they're number 1 and 2. Other characters seem to be escaping me right now, I have to rewatch quickly.

Gotta go with the character that singlehandedly made Nanoha the success it is today. Without her I strongly doubt the series would be in its 3rd season let alone arguably the most talked about show of said season. Here's to the prospect of a Fate Testarossa spin-off. Plus I kind of like Alisa Bannings and her "BWAAAAH! KILL!" scenario with purple haired girl who never says anything in the series. That occured in a flashback if I recall.

I will definately choose Fate. I found myself constantly cheering for her and waiting anxiously for her appearances in the series time after time again. I don't know why, but I can't seem to enjoy the show without her. She's the soul purpose I got so interested in Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha in the first place. Her cool personality is awesome as well as her battle techniques. In my opinion, she's the best and will always be the best in the entire show. :)

And also I will select Arf-san--for always staying by her master's side and being a kind, caring, and protective friend to Fate. :blush:

(1) Nanoha: A very strong character indeed. Still has the ability to be real powerful and still be loving and compassionate at the same time even to her opponent (Nanoha would never consider Fate an enemy).

(2) Fate: Despite her past trials and tragedies, she has dealt with the hand that was dealt to her and is also strong in her own way. Despite following orders, she still has remorse which earns sympathy points and also risks her own safety to get her job done.

I remember voting in here a while ago..but guess I haven't posted.

Undoubtedly, not only is my favorite character in the series that of the lovely and lovable Fate Testarossa, but also in general taken on a grand scale. How every deed, action, and expression that she elicits and emits is truly wonderful and awe-inspiring to me. Her context in the first season was also breathtaking because she served as a perfect rival for Nanoha and shifted the lonely days into ones of drama and exhilaration. I quote: 'I will protect you from anyone not because I'm your daughter...but because you're my mother.' Every scene of her was well experienced and worth it as she complemented each sequence. She possessed lonely eyes for a good majority of the season and dealt with her evil mother's selfishness. I'll declare plain and simple...I love Fate's character, her entire embodiment of mind, body, and soul. Even after Precia confessed her loathing and the fact that she was a clone of Alicia, Fate accepted the facts. The negative aspect of that was she went into a state of shock, but it allowed for the rebirth of her. As a result, I'm satisfied with how it ended because 'Namae wo wonde' is a beautiful insert. As for Nanoha...*won't go there.*

I accidentally found this thread when watching for and old page of the manga discussion thread on google xD. So, to give a good vote i try to reverse time and remeber my fgirst impression of S1, so here we goes.

Nanoha Takamachi - Pretty obvious, without her there was no series, anyone already said and it's true, she's a strog yet very caring girl who's ready to help someone in problems and at the same time totally willing to make friends with everyone(and no, i'm not referring to her "befriending" techniques). I like her a bit more than her grown self from StrikerS onwards because she's more humble.(don't get me wrong, StrikerS Nanoha is made of awesome but i feel her character more pretentious and prepotent, much less cheerful or happy).

Yuuno Scrya - I know, i know ...i'm talking about my first impression right? The kid is an archeologist at age 9-10, he gets in trouble and desperately ask for anyone who can hear his call for help and that person results to be Nanoha, at first i thinked of him as an irresponsible, walking plot device to give Nanoha her powers but shortly he demonstrates geniune care for the fact he just involved an infant into the conflict, trying to solve things on his own and involve innocents as less as possible, when Nanoha stays as a Mage he then gives her his full support through the rest of the season guiding her in the ways of magic and saving her from danger(his short brawls with Arf are quite impressive), upon revealing his true form some obvious teasing ensues, but it's innocent and comical so i'm pretty much okay with it, nothing happens between them at the end of the season but he remains as a good friend and a valuable ally, i always going to miss the days when Yuuno get along with the cast i felt he had well chemistry with all of them.

Chrno Harllown - Season One Chrono is made of WIN! when Nanoha is a novice mage and Fate a heavy trained undergrond mage, Chrono shows us what a full fledged TSAB officer can do, right from his debut he's able to stop both main heroines cold, it's shortly after revealed that he's in fact weaker than both of them but he rapidly answers and demonstrates that skill and brains can overtake power if well used, it also have a funny "unfunny" side xD, cracking bad jokes or discussing with his more childish compannions, or teasing Yuuno xD! ...it's a bit sad he won't get more developement beyond A's, it's a pretty cool character.

Arisa Bannings - Last but not least, and definetly my absolute favourite among the support cast of the entire franchise, Arisa Bannings is a pretty pretentious and stubborn girl wich hides a kind and responsible heart(as she demonstrates when Nanoha hides her Mahou Shoujo problems from her, Arisa acts rude but is very worried for her friend wich Suzuka correctly points out). The little tomboyish traits coupled with her funny way of handling things(and her love for puppyes x3) makes almost impossible to not give her attention when she appears onscreen, her mixture of flaws and virtues really catch to me as she's an easy likeable character, not much to say really, except that it's a bit sad she doesen't appear past A's.

I'll wait for the A's poll when things are gonna get interesting xD.
