A New Life (http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=722434&postcount=312)
Shouko and Karada experience some quite difficulties at getting adjusted with their altered ages, however, thanks to Shouko's adult expertise and Karada's cooking both girls manage to set up a stable living standard.
Hiro visits Shouko's department to find chibi Shouko there, much the girl's dismay. She poses as the adult Shouko's little sister while adult Karada's out with work.
It is revealed that both she and Hiro were romantically involved while both studied abroad in America. However, the relationship came to end when Hiro received a phone call that his parents pass away and told Shouko he had to return to Japan.
He promised her to return by her side once he would get done with the issue. Shouko waited month after month for Hiro but neither returned nor she received response. After a few more months of waiting, Shouko received a letter from Hiro's.
The cold reply came as a shock to Shouko, since Hiro wrote that he had to cancel off their relationship without given explanation as to why.
At the present, Shouko realizes that it was for Karada that Hiro could not return to her side, and he discloses that Karada's not his sister by blood. She was the child of a distant relative of his father, adopted by his parents at the age of two when her biological parents passed away.
Hiro did not return to America because seeing at how Karada was all sad and defenseless, he made his choice by his own volition that he would take care and raise her so as Karada would never be alone again.

The little bit of comedy in the beginning was nice but I was taken back because I didn't expect it. Also, the "cliche plot element" revealed at the end was also uninviting. Nevertheless, it's still a very good episode, especially upheld by the story flashbacks of Hiro and Shouko's relationship.

What do you think was a cliche story element? You should be more specific :P
Mmm, it's quite amusing how these 2 get by. I like the shopping for the dress scene when Shouko made a cute pose with that dress with lots of ruffles on it. She's all embarassed when Karada just opened the curtain...caught in the act as you might say it. Oh! and let's not forget about the buying a bed.
-- Seriously, Hiro really needs a haircut and shave :)
