I posted this in the generic thread, but it may be better placed here:
I'm wondering if C.C (シーツー) should be pronounced 'see see' or 'see two'. Anyone know for sure? Given that we have not heard name pronounced in the show yet (unless I've missed it?).

According to Wikipedia (I've also participated in editing the profile page, along with Li), C.C.'s name is 'pronounced as C-2'.
Wherever this comes from is unknown to me as it is likely it originated from the Newtype scans - and I can't verify, confirm or deny this claim. Someone who can read kanji and has the scans could maybe tell. Anyway, we'll probably know by Friday (Thursday for me) since we're going to have a quite interesting and possibly informative episode.

Actually, the katakan written under her name reads "Shitsu." But how you get Shitsu out of CC is beyond me ... Sooner or later someone in the anime has got to say her name outloud ... right?

It's going to be 25 episodes. It's made really clear here: http://www.geass.jp/dvd.html
The first volume has 1 episode, the other volumes have 3 episodes each, and there will be a total of 9 volumes. 25 episodes total.

This might be more useful here.
The Rules to the power of Geass, as observed in the episodes thus far.
The user can only use it once on a same individual. Any following attempts will be ineffective.
The victim is bound by his or her physical and mental capabilities. Asking the victim about or to do something that he or she doesn't know or cannot do will produce no effect.
The user must have direct eye contact with the victim. The power cannot work over telecommunications or monitors, or even a layer of semi-transparent substance.
Direct eye contact via a reflective surface, i.e. mirror, will be enough for the power to work.
The power will work within a 270-meter radius of the user.
The user may give as many commands as he or she wishes while direct eye contact is maintained.
The user must give the commands verbally. However, the power of Geass will control the victim for the duration of what the user's command indicates, so the victim may still act under the power's influence even when direct eye contact is broken.
The user may use the power on as many people as he or she wishes simultaneously, provided that they meet the above rules first.
The victim will not retain any memories from the time during which he or she is under the influence of the power of Geass, due the rewiring and damage of the brain. For same reason, the victim gains immunity against following attempts of the power being used on him or her.
Question:
I don't want to check out Wikipedia since I'm sure I'd notice a spoiler, so about the different series... I heard there's a novel, manga series, and this anime. What's the relationship? In what order did they come out, which are ongoing, which follow the same storyline? Which have been scanlated/subbed/licensed?
The main reason I'd really like to know this is that it seems like there's a manga which is coming out recently, so if that's it and there's no other published material which has been widely experienced, then I can fear less that people will accidentally spoil the anime for me. I really enjoy this show so far, so I've become a bit paranoid.

In what order did they come out, which are ongoing, which follow the same storyline? Which have been scanlated/subbed/licensed?The novel is a side-story relating to Ashford Academy and I have no idea how it ties into anything else. There are actually three separate manga, serialized in different magazines and all ongoing. As a result (and because I just found out about this series a few weeks ago) I can't tell you much about how they relate. I could only find one issue of one of the magazines in question so I'm going mostly on what other people have said here. I know the manga doesn't directly correlate to the anime but from what I've seen and from what others have said it's different enough to be worth reading but close enough that someone talking about the manga could spoil something. I think that all three manga are part of one storyline from different perspectives (Lelouch, Suzaku and Nanaly respectively) but someone else will have to confirm or deny that. So far, nothing has been licensed. The anime has a bunch of different groups translating it (up to episode four as of right now) but there haven't been any scanlations of the manga or novel. I figure it's only a matter of time for the former but the later's not too likely. I can't recall offhand ever seeing novel scanlations.

It sure seems that way.
It seems there are three manga (novel?) adaptations for Code Geass. What are the differences between them ?
Thank you

How do Orangekun get his nickname? :D
When Jeremiah was interrogated by Cornelia's cronies, Guilford informed him that, as punishment for inexplicably aiding Zero escaping, he'd be faced with a choice - either he'd be demoted to the rank of mere pilot or he'd go till an orange field like a commoner.
And at the beginning of the conversation, Guilford sarcastically greeted him by, 'hey, orange guy,' and, well, the moniker stayed and spread out like wildfire.
Thank you, I thought of that, but somehow I kinda remember its was supposed to be something earlier.. must be my mind then :D
Seems like even Zero called him that ... News sure do travelled fast :D

Guildford coins the phrase 'Orange-kun' but wasn't it first mentioned by Zero in ep 4 during the Suzaku hand over? I'm going by gg's sub: ep 4 17.42 Zero says '...I'll announce it, orange'. I thought it was just a phantom conspiracy invented by Zero (based on Jeremiah's eye colour) and it spread like a meme. This is why Jeremiah hates Zero so much; he started it...

You're correct - thats how it all started. Not to sure if Lelouch's plan all along was to do something like this, so it worked out perfectly - not for Jeremiah though.

Technically, it was Kewel (( Or is it Quelle? )) that first addressed Jeremiah as Orange. Zero started the whole "Orange Conspiracy", but he never specifically said that phrase as a nickname of Jeremiah's, probably just a random word to throw people off.
So, it's pretty much : ~
Zero : creates the reference.
Kewel : addresses Jeremiah with the reference.
Gillford : adds the infamous -kun behind the reference.
And the Orange-kun meme is born. :P
Q: What is Lelouche the crown prince or not. A lot of people still wonder about this and also because his older brothers and sisters can also claim the throne it is weird because bastards can't claim anything. In the eps where he talked with his father after his mother was killed I got the impression that he was the crownprince because what Lelouche self sad and the people, but during eps 2 I think he sad something about 8th in line to the throne. So what is it?
Techincally he is and is 17th in line or something like that. And there aren't any bastards. The emperor just has more than one wife so the oldest child of the first wife is the first in succession.

Thanx for the answer, so then the translation of g fansub was wrong when said empress and that one the other group was correct when they sad princess.
No all the wives are empresses. It's just a title.

For question see spoiler -- It's about Jeremiah
At the end of episode 10 we see Jeremiah seemly die. But since he ejected at the last moment, is he still alive? You see, 1 second before he auto-ejected and his health was critical I saw him faint, and since Kallen's knightmare took Jeremiah's Knightmare's head, does that mean he's dead?
We can't answer that. We'll see that in ep 11 or mabye even later when that battle ends.

Isn't Lelouch the 17th Successor but 2nd in line to the throne of the Empire? I don't have the episode with me but I thought that's what the subs stated.

I think that is correct, but after Lelouche mother was killed and Nanally was injured, I know I saw it stated that Lelouche couldn't inherit the throne. I'll post episode and time if wanted.

Couldn't, or wouldn't?:p
Disowned he might be, but Lelouch's position as a son of the Emperor is still indisputable. Lulu might not be the next in line now, but if enough people gets whacked you would be surprised how quickly things can change.:D
Ironically, that is also why Lulu fear for the safety of his sister; the two of them are still potential challengers to the throne, and as such could not be ignored by the other heirs as deadly threats. That is why they had to fake their deaths and take their mother's maiden-name. The only harmless challenger for the throne is a dead one.
This could be a dumb question
According to Wiki, Schneizel is the second prince of the Imperial family. Who is the first prince?

I'm pretty sure Zero adressed Jeremiah as Orange, and others picked up on it and saw it as a codename that indicated he was in league with Zero due to his subsequent actions under the influence of the Geass.
Question of my own: Unless I missed it somehow, I have no idea what CC wants Lelouche to do for her. Any ideas/theories on that yet?

Zero did address Jeremiah as Orange/Orange-kun at the Battle of Narita, but not before that, since they hadn't seen each other face to mask again until that conflict.

Ok i had couple of questions, ( i have only watched up to episode 5 so please no spoilers :) )
Q1)Leolouch, Was he suposed to be the first in line to become emperor after (if) the real empire dies?.
Q2) Ok i hear the the first , second, third prince or princess in the series, what does it mean?. First in line , second in line or third in line ?. If so how can we have both a second prince and second princess.

Q1)Leolouch, Was he suposed to be the first in line to become emperor after (if) the real empire dies?.
1. It's L-E-L-O-U-C-H. Not Leolouch.
We have enough with people misspelling Suzaku's name. Let's not butcher another character, shall we?
2. No. The 1st Prince will (it's a bearded guy who's before Schneizel in the inheritance line...you can see him attending Clovis' funeral). Lelouch's the seventeenth in the succession ladder and the eighth prince. Which means that he's more or less at the bottom of the pit, while Schneizel is just one echelon shy of the very top.
3. Despite point 2, there is still the issue that Marianne is supposed to be the Empress (I haven't heard about other wives/concubines bearing that official title...yet) so one must wonder if her royal status didn't give her son some advantage over the "firstborn = heir-to-the-throne" principle.
Q2) Ok i hear the the first , second, third prince or princess in the series, what does it mean?. First in line , second in line or third in line ?. If so how can we have both a second prince and second princess.
First thing to know, it's a polygamy. Therefore there can be a LOT of heirs around. And there ARE.
You must then divide the Emperor's herd of heirs into two groups - the princes and the princesses - and inside each pool you distribute number tags to determine who was born first and last. As such there's the 1st prince (the eldest male child born to mister Wighead), the 2nd (Schneizel), etc, etc...
Same goes for the princesses. The Second Princess, as her title shows, was born after the First, but before the Third. And so on.
On the other hand, the succession line doesn't care whether you're male or female. You're ordered according to your birth date - and therefore, your age. The firstborn automatically inherits the throne, no matter if he's a prince or a princess. The last one most likely gets nothing...merely a number in case something catastrophic happens to all other members.
Bottom line: Lelouch is the eighth prince - the eighth and youngest male heir - but he is the Emperor's seventeenth child (if you still don't understand, it simply means that seventeenth half-brothers/half-sisters were born before him) and consequently he is the seventeenth in the succession line. At the rear end.
Which means that if ALL sixteen heirs (princes and princesses) before Lelouch die, then the throne will automatically go to him, even if he's one of the youngest Imperial Children around (Nunally being possibly the youngest of all).

Thanks alot fo the fast respond :) and sorry for misspelling Lelouch's name wrong :) . Well I kind of undrestand ( knew) the Logic of the first born= first prince/ess and so on, But what i dont undrestand is how can we have a Second prince and the same time second princess. Base on what you said if a person is born first or second they will be given the titile of the first or second prince/ess and so on. Then if Lelouch is the eighth prince, shouldnt he be the eighth person ( age wise) to have been born?. Then based on that he should be the eighth successor right?. Then why is he the 17th successor?.
Also is Lelouch's Mom the first wife ? or has any thing been stated about this?.

Nope. Reread my post. It's all there.
As I said, the succession line doesn't care whether you're male or female. Which means that the sixteen siblings born before Lelouch have higher priority on inheriting the Empire than Lelouch does. Lelouch is one of the youngest children. The FIRST child has dibs on the throne, period. But Lelouch is the SEVENTEENTH. He's at the BACK of the line. He's one of the LAST to inherit.
And as I said, you must consider it like this:
- PRINCES GROUP:
-- 1st prince: eldest male heir
-- 2nd prince: the male heir born after the eldest male
-- 3nd prince: the Emperor's third male heir
...
etc.
- PRINCESSES GROUP:
-- 1st Princess: eldest female heir
-- 2nd Princess: the female heir born after the eldest female
-- 3rd Princess: the Emperor's third female heir.
EACH GROUP IS INDEPENDENT OF EACH OTHER.
Those number tags are just there to show who's eldest among the male & female groups. And that's all there is to it. It doesn't have any importance whatsoever on the succession line. It's just to know who is older than who. Period.
As such there can be a succession line like this (I made it up so don't comment on the names, etc):
From eldest to youngest:
- 1st Prince (eldest child and eldest male): 1st in succession line (SL) AND future Emperor
- 2nd Prince: 2nd in SL and 2nd eldest child
- 1st Princess (eldest female but NOT eldest child): 3rd in SL
- 3rd Prince: 4th in SL
- 2nd Princess: 5th in SL
- 4th Prince: 6th in SL
- 3rd Princess: 7th in SL
- 4th Princess: 8th in SL
- 5th Princess: 9th in SL
- 5th Prince: 10th in SL
...
...
...
- 8th Prince (Lelouch): 17th in SL (17th child and youngest male heir)
- ??th Princess (Nanaly): ??th in SL (youngest child, youngest female heir and last in the SL)
As you can see, the 5th Prince isn't necessarily higher in the succession line, because he's a male, compared to the 5th Princess. If the 5th Princess is older than the 5th Prince, then she will be closer to the throne than her male counterpart.
Also is Lelouch's Mom the first wife ? or has any thing been stated about this?.
Nothing to my knowledge. She was dubbed 'Empress' and got offed because she was a commoner by birth. That's all there is to it.

Next question:
Episode 5:
At the end of the episode Cornelia tells her sister to call her Governor. Then as the reason She sais " A distinction is needed because we are true sisters". I can undrestand the reason if it was because of the formalities but Being it because they are " Sisters" doesnt make sense to me. What does being sisters has to do with the reason as so why they should abide by the formalities?.
Episode 6:
Suzuku Said some told him he should go to school and was seeing the investigation goes in his favor. Who was the person?. Yuffi or Lioyd?

None. It's a completely brand new series. No novel or manga as a precursor either. So no ending spoilers whatsoever to throw around.
BTW, the 'Lelouch of the Rebellion' part of the title, which now sounds like a subtitle, has been speculated (in other words, it's merely guesswork with logic as crutches) to be for the first 25 episodes...and that it might change for the last 25 (perhaps 'Suzaku of the Rebellion')....but there is nothing to back this. Merely speculation. So don't take this seriously. Really.

There are unconfirmed reports (nevertheless, the fact that some of the spoilers released by that source seem to have come true... and sort of give these allegations a thin mantle of truth and reliability) from an inside Sunrise/MBS source that Code Geass will run for two seasons (25 eps), get off the air the two following seasons then come back for two more seasons (25 eps).
2 + 2 seasons = roughly 50 eps (with a two-season break between the two halves).

Really.
According to Wiki, there are two manga that follow Lelouch of the Rebellion, Suzaku of the Counterattack and Knightmare of Nunnally, so maybe they'll continue the series following that format.

Suzaku of the Counterattack is not a sequel. It loosely follows the anime ('follows' as in 'faithfully retells the anime itself', not as in 'picks up where the anime left off'), but from Suzaku's point of view, while 'Lelouch of the Rebellion' is from Lelouch's. We're simply seeing the same war but from two different sets of eyes.
As for Knightmare of Nunally, it's an alternate universe, a radical rewrite of the series but with Nunally as the main character.
Moreover, I doubt that Taniguchi would be willing to spoil an ongoing, original anime with two mangas already running in (separate, I believe) magazines.
Hey, I got a question that I've been frustrated with. I've checked around and haven't seen it answered, so hopefully I'm not being repetetive.
Why the hell does Mao go after Shirley or Lelouche in episode 14 in the first place? I get that he wants CC for himself, and I get that he can't like Lelouch for "stealing" CC from him. But why would he involve Shirley? And why didn't he want to kill Lelouch or try to reveal his identity to anyone? And why didn't Mao go straight for CC after reading Lelouch's mind? Also, CC later says in episode 15 that Mao was not after Lelouch's life. Why the hell did he set the whole thing up with Shirley, then? I'm going to be severely disappointed if there's no motivation for Mao to do any of this, 'cause at this point, it looks like whoever's in charge of this series just felt like using Mao in this scene, without giving him real reason to be in there.
So, anyone got any ideas?

he's insane for one thing. he doesn't have to make total sense in his actions.
but as you'll also notice in episode 15 that Mao is jealous of Lelouch. he at least to some degree thinks (subconciously or otherwise) that Lelouch has stolen CC from him. Lelouch just has to say he knows CCs name and Mao starts to bug out. when he basically implies he's slept with CC, Mao starts attacking TV screens with a chainsaw to make Lelouch shut up. he's a rival for CCs affection.
episode 16 also shows Mao feels something of a rivalry with Lelouch for being a fellow Geass user.
pick any of the three, or combinations of them in varying ratios, (I personally like rivalry 2+insanity) they all work pretty well for why Mao would go after Lelouch, and thus use Shirely to get to him. and that could be because Mao can read Lelouch's subconcious care/love for Shirley, because Shirely was particularly mentally unstable at that point, because Mao is just a sadist [with his mental issues, doesn't seem a stretch], or others. again, take your pick. really, Mao just wants to play/compete with Lelouch to show he's better, so he needs some leverage.
you'll also notice when Mao was backed into a corner he did try to reveal Lelouch's identity.

It seems that The Emperor of Britannia has no brother/sister, so did he kill them all in order to success the throne? (Battle Royale style?)No one knows. I guess the staff didn't bother creating relatives of his - especially when there are already seventeen persons in the succession line. Although a large majority of the latter aren't seen, I guess the mere presence/mention of this large descendance has already served its purpose: to show that there is a potential (and encouraged) struggle for power inside the family - meaning that clashes (Marianne's death, etc) are inevitable. In other words, the Emperor's hypothetical brothers and sisters are redundant since the job's already done by the princes and princesses. It's better to focus on the newer generation since that's where things are going to change. Radically. I expect many of them to buy the farm by the end of the series, though.
also does suzaku have any other relatives/sister/mom, etc?Not sure. Kaguya seems to be acquainted with him but I'm not sure she's a member of the Kururugi family, even to an n-th degree. However, it seems that he still has surviving relatives since Toudou stated that Suzaku was cut off from his family (because he became a Honorary Britannian, therefore cutting ties with the remaining Kururugis). I don't think there has been a mention of his mother or a sibling (in which case we'd have seen them in the flashbacks or Lelouch would have brought it up when talking to Suzaku) so far.

original name : Karen Kouzuki
current name : Kallen Stadtfeld
as you can see, both nomination are correct. the explanation behind it is somewhat loosy but : karen is a japanese name (well... since her first name is in katakana, it is rather...surprising.), while kallen (with near-to-same prononciation) is (kinda?) european, and thus, the later is used, preventing people guessing she is half japanese half brittanian.

maybe she wishes to die since she doesn't age or die from gunshot wounds to the head
while this is more for the speculation thread:
that seems somewhat unlikely, as
a) killing CC isn't something that specifically requires Lelouch (remember in episode 1? CC has been looking for Lelouch.)
b) CC agrees (in what appears to be one of her more sincere/heartfelt instantances) in 7 that living a life in which you can't do anything is indeed pointless.
c) she didn't seem particularly happy about being chopped into pieces and flown to australia back in 15. while I'm not saying that would kill her, it shows she doesn't particularly enjoy the concept of being injured. One would think if she had a death wish this wouldn't be such a big deal
d) it would overlap with Suzaku's death wish.
sure, realizing her wish could involve her death/be a possible consequence, but I highly doubt it's her main goal, and I somewhat doubt that it has to be achieved by killing her
somehow I highly speculate that this season will end with another CC and Lulu's hand shake -_-.. "Let's do it together.." kinda deal.
Well today a question pop into my head which I really don't have answer for it. How did Lloyd ever get around to pick Suzaku for his pilot considering Suzaku never pilot or was train to pilot a knightmare before. I rewatch episode 2 and I can't see the reason Lloyd made the offer to him. Suzaku would be huge gamble for a test pilot considering he had no experience and he is Japaneses to place as pilot for his Lancelot knightmare. Why did Lloyd take huge gamble? Hoping some one has bit more inside or guide me an episode where this get answer.
^there's some explanation for it in the spoiler thread at some point.
from what I can recall, it works something like this:
despite the fact that only Britannians can become pilots, apparently suzaku had KM training and testing. (this could have been because of Lloyd, it could just be standard military training, who knows)
and basically, Lloyd took notice of Suzaku because he had a very high sync rate (or something like that) in training. because the Lancelot is an experimental machine, it's both dangerous and outside of the standard military, so even though there were other skilled pilots, the units they were a part of wouldn't give them up, or they refused because of the danger.
while it is somewhat troublesome that Noodle is a number, Suzaku ends up being really a good pilot for Lloyd, since there's no strings attached.

Hi, are the rumors about season 2 and season 3 in the making true?!?
Renegade334

Hi, are the rumors about season 2 and season 3 in the making true?!?Although no official announcement has been made yet, several clues hint to a second batch of 25 episodes arriving after a two-season break (ep 26 should air somewhere around September, IIRC). And, yeah, it's pretty much certain there will be a second season coming our way.
As for the third season thingy, that's just a wild rumor or a forged hearsay. It's likely CG will only span 50 episodes + 6/7 optional recaps.
Actually I think you are mistaken on the way the naming system or succession works. Well either that or there are some contradictions on the website.
Lelouch is the 8th prince and 17th in line. So you would expect there to be 16 people older than him who would succeed before him. However Euphemia is only 16 yrs old yet she is the 3rd princess. Based on that as Lelouch is 17yrs old you would expect there to only be 9 successors in front of him. 7 princes and 2 princesses yet this isnt the case. So unless I'm forgetting something it's definitely not based on age.
^we are sure Euphie's the third, right? and that she's 16?
guess it would be order of marriage that decides accension then. :\
I am not sure if this has been cover in the past but each has a different prefix before Britannia in their name. I am sure it may only had to do from where their mother is from or gave birth to them.

It probably has something to do with which wife of the emperor got married first or has higher status, regardless of how old the potential heirs are. This would the screwy age order of the children of the royal family, but then again it could be something else, like the emperor's preferences or something illogical like that.

Do you think that "structured geass" could exist? I mean a geass order is a series of simple actions stated in a complex order like "write a sign on that wall evrey day". This means:
1) check out evrey day.
2) going to the wall.
3) make the sign.
So an apparently "simple" order is quite complex in reality: could this complexity being enhanced further by making the list of the given orders longer and longer? If an order like "obey to any orders I give you" functions then the Geass is an overkill... :D

2007-03-07, 01:55
It is unknown if an open ended order can be give like "obey any orders I give you." So far no such orders have been so vague. Perhaps it doesn't work or else he'd do that a lot. My personal guess is that a geass needs to be partitioned in a person's mind and an order like this is too open eneded to be partitioned.
However, returning to your first point, geasses are definitely not structured. He gives simple orders and the target figures out any necessary steps on their own. For instance, he says "Let me go with all your strength" and Orange-kun first gives an order to let Zero go and when it doesn't work, he then decides to attack anyone who tries to stop Zero. This means that every order involves the decision making ability of the victim.

This means that every order involves the decision making ability of the victim.
This requirment could also mean that "open ended orders" can be given because then the decision making ability of the victim can decide what to do after receiving an order. Now that I think it better an open ended order
was already given to Suzaku: the "LIVE!" order... it's all except "specific". In fact the decision-making ability of Suzaku adapts that order to the specific contexts: it activated already two times so it's likely that an order like "obey to all my orders" can be given.
I hope this possibility won't be used in the series because it would make the geass cheap and lame: Lelouch can just geass all the world and become the king of evreything!!!
As an aside: I'm sure people asked what the "geass" word meant: but what about the "code" word? What is a code? To put it in simple terms it's an alphanumeric string (for our computers, but it can be anything with an unique pattern) that gives someone the access to special functions, like the "self-destruction code" for example.
A code, to function, must be built-in within some device, of course: a ship without a self-destruction code won't self-destruct, that's obvious, isn't it?
Then this clearly implies that humans have all some kind of built-in code (the geass) that allows to control them in various ways: reading-only way (Mao), writing-only way (Lelouch) and perhaps even a mixed way (a mix of Mao and Lelouch, a truly overkill geass I say).
From the fact that humans have all a built-in code someone can ask then: if the code is artificial, does it mean that the humans itself are artificial?
Considering CC not being human (unless in Geass universe people can get shot in their head and walk happily some hour after like nothing happened) my question and potential answer is quite plausible. I don't think the "code" word was put into the title just because it sounds cool paired with the "geass" one! :D
Lelouch hypothesized that the geass works by invading and rewiring the cerebrum. We saw in eps 4 and 10 how he uses it to tell people to ignore things. Now it's not that they don't see him; the geass activates so that their brains comply with the order by not caring that he is there or disregarding his presence. They have been brainwashed basically, so that anytime they see him, they don't notice.
That theoretically should allow for open-ended orders. The geass enforcement activation could just be something along the lines as "whenever you hear a command from me (my voice perhaps), you must obey" all you need is a condition for activation, like for wall-girl and ore-suzaku's will to live
All bets are off until we find out about Shirley though.
I don't want Lelouch to just go and geass everybody into obedient slaves, but honestly I'd been hoping for more interesting and cunning usage of the Geass to achieve things, but that sadly seems to not be the case for the 1st season at least. He uses it like what once per episode max now? They mostly consist of memory wipes, ignoring things and small tasks (take this walkie talkie here), nothing big and grandiose. I want to see him get creative.

Ah, but once again you didn't put into consideration of why Lulu don't use Geass all the time anymore; Lulu realised this power has limits.
Geass is powerful, but there are clear weaknesses. It's like The Green Lantern and the colour yellow.
The best way to prevent people from taking up preventative measures against his Geass, like wearing tinted glasses all the time, is if people don't know he has superpowers. The reason Zero got an independent funded army is because he can now do things without Geassing someone, like whenever he needed the truck-trailer's tires changed.
Sure, he may be able to Geass people more often, but it's not worth the risk right now. Light in Death Note used his powers all the time until the cops figured out what he could or could not do. Lulu certainly want to limit the number of brainwashed people to a minimum. (At least, of named important people. Quite a large population of his school had probably being Geassed by now.)

Very true, and of course he knows the limits better than us. However, when he is fighting this war, should he not be using his strengths. He could be doing much more as opposed to continually leading the charge. He could at the very least setup a decoy Zero or two. I don't think he'd do anything that would be too suspicious, cuz like you said, it's only a hidden weapon if it remains hidden.
Hehe truck tires. I mentioned i thought he only uses it for small things. Something big would be using it to achieve something he could not achieve otherwise (like rescuing suzaku in ep 4). I was mostly thinking in terms of intelligence and espionage. Now I'm not sure how good their info net is, but how about something like geassing an officer to relay information from within. Or during a battle, going ninja, and similar to ep 2, sneaking into the enemy camp. He would obviously be more invisible than ep 2 since he knows the limits better now. If he were going in to just steal data on the Lancelot, or even just sabotage it for instance, he wouldn't have to leave evidence in the form of dead bodies either.
You pointed out though something that i had considered about his geass usage. In the first few eps, it was treated as a godly power and whatnot, but now it's more like a tool. He really doesn't rely on it anymore, except as his trump. It's always better to have solid support. It's just some of the possibilites (geassing an officer to give info) seems really tantalizing.
I've been wondering if there were any other students at school, with weird recurring geases on them. Ashford academy might be quite the freak show now. :eyespin:

I think they're already there.
swimsuit day, orange day, make a pizza 4x bigger than the world record for the school festival, etc, etc.
He really doesn't rely on it anymore, except as his trump.
I think he also learned his lesson from Mao, and doesn't want to turn crazy like him or the Death Note's antihero. His pride also kicks in, he doesn't want to rely onto others power too much.

Might be another explanation (Not sure):
the sync rate was known after suzaku rode the knightmare, not before. His experience with knightmare testing is also a factor.
The main factor would be because he is an Eleven, and nobody would care him dying. Lloyd stated out that the machine didn't have the ejection implemented, if he said this to a Britannian soldier, he would have to take responsibility if anything happens to a pilot. Turns out suzaku to be a really good pilot.

If nuclear weapons fall into Britannia's hands then it will be a big problem IMHO.

yes they probably will play a role in the mid to late 2nd season.
actually, in some ways Nuclear weapons would be the worst thing to ever happen to Britannia. a world with Nuclear weapons is one in which Britannia can no longer continue it's expansionist policies, for fear of the mutual annihilation scenario. and without the growing cheap labor force, the Britannian economy falls into recession and then they're screwed. Nukes would actually be the easiest way for Lelouch to obtain his goal of "ending war". :heh:
of course, once the Nukes show up, Wakamoto will no doubt reveal his Geass superweapon, and we'll be heading right into the end of the series. so yeah, look for nukes around 40 something +

Who is Wakamoto? The king?
Ah another thing: Lelouch geassed himself using the reflection of his eyes on some blade. But I remember Lelouch saying that his geass works only if he's in direct line of sight with the victim: I find this a bit confusing.
Most likely it's something like this: the geass doesn't require Lelouch to be physically present in front of the victim (the reflection of his geass worked and that wasn't the real one) but the victims can't wear anything on their eyes, like glassed and such. Mao's arc confirms this: as soon as he lost his glasses he got geassed by Lelouch. Is this plausible?
If this is then Code Geass can end the next episode: Lelouch just goes on television and geasses evreyone telling them that they must obey his orders, starting from the king. :D
^Lelouch explains (in 5 I believe) that the Geass exhibits properties of light, so it can be reflected.
the only reason it didn't work on Mao was because he had reflective glasses. standard glasses and maybe even certain types of sunglasses won't counteract the geass.
and since the emperor doesn't have a name other than the Emperor, his voice actors name, Norio Wakamoto, is occasionally used instead.

Ok from what you guys say no geass broadcast anyway this doesn't eliminate the possibility of mirrors, which functions. What about putting a huge mirror in a square full of people and Lelouch activates his geass in direction of the mirror which, of course, mirrors the geass to all of the guys?
would work if they were looking at the mirror. Maybe better if he did it in a room full of mirrors. that sounds like it'd be fun to see. Lure people to a room full of mirrors, and geass bounces around til it gets them.

and since the emperor doesn't have a name other than the Emperor, his voice actors name, Norio Wakamoto, is occasionally used instead.Actually, Britannia's 98th Emperor does have a name. It was revealed in the Code Geass prequel novel (featuring Lelouch and Nanaly's time in Japan before the invasion) but its romanization is still unknown.
It's Louis La Britannia or Luiz / Lewis.
What is a sync rate Lloyd is speaking of?
I can't even remember when Lloyd mentioned that....but from Laksharta mentioning something to that effect in 17, I'm guessing the basic idea is how quickly the frame reacts.
usually you'd use it to refer to how quickly the frame responds to a given command by the pilot, but for someone like Lloyd who simply sees Suzaku as a part of his Lancelot, the high sync rate may be in reference to Suzaku's high level of physical coordination (the reason he can avoid gun fire and beat the crap out of everyone), which allows Suzaku and thus the Lancelot on a whole to react comparitively quickly to attacks.

well, either way I guess. not like it's a bad name.Well, problem is, little is known about Mister Bigwig (my own moniker...although it's been revealed that the hair/hairdo was...genuine O_O) and the blackout includes his own name. It seems that for now the staff doesn't deem it necessary to introduce another name for us to refer to him as. Since he doesn't have much importance right now, it's a fortuitous tidbit to throw to the (ravenous) masses.
On the other side, although it's been emphasized that there would be plot divergences and differences as well as certain similarities between novel and anime, I doubt the liberty the staff will take on those matters would encompass the topic of (major) character names. I can envision them changing certain persons' deeds, opinions and personalities, why not (or even his/her existence, as Cornelia doesn't even seem to exist in the CG-LotR manga) - but what defines a character the most? His/her name? I think not. At least, it seems unlikely to me. The change would be too glaring, too peculiar.
I mean, it'd be as if Tomino had renamed Char Aznable, something like, say, "Commander Gaylord" for the CCA novel...:twitch:
See what I mean? :heh:
^what about Mafty Navilles Erin? it's not a name for Char, and its not "Commander Gaylord", but it's basically the same idea.
I mean if you want a second name for a character, and it doesn't exist, people often just make it up.
Wakamoto is still the Emperor in the novels, but if that's all the production team had for whoever did the novel, they could have simply said "alright, I want a human name for this guy, and they don't have one for me, so I'll just create it." :uhoh:

So, I've got a question of my own. What major anime magazines has respectable amount of Code Geass informations, and the ratios of each as in which magazine has the most in terms of interview, random world stuff compared to other magazines? Not sure about the ratios, but the three major magazines throwing out spoilers and competing with each other to become the #1 source of groundbreaking info/interviews are:
- Animedia
- Animage
- Newtype
---- Note: they often release booklets or specials.
Then there are smaller ones like:
- Code Geass official eMagazine
- Pash!
- Asuka (which also publishes the CG-LotR manga)
- Megami Magazine (considered slightly unreliable because of guesswork and interpretation of already known data)
- Comp Ace (which also publishes the CG-Nunnally's Nightmare manga)
Other spoiler sources include:
- anime.goo.ne.jp
- weekly TV guides, both printed and online (yeah, I'm being very vague, here)
Unofficial spoiler sources/anonymous staff members on 2chan:
- username: Pubes (has recently resurfaced after a long moment of silence)
- username: Fake Okouchi (usually shows up an hour or two before each CG episode airs, for a Q&A session with 2chan users)
---- Note: both have proven to be extremely reliable.
Hope this helped. That's about all I know.

Renegade334
2007-03-18, 07:53
Some say it'll be in September but there's no official confirmation of this. One earlier rumor stated that Code Geass would run for two TV seasons (25/26 eps long), go off the airwaves for two TV seasons' time (in which another series would step in for 26 eps) and then come back for two final seasons (25/26 eps).
Like this:
1. CG S1 (25 eps)
2. Other series (26 eps)
3. CG S2 (25 eps)
But since it was someone who claimed to be a MBS/Sunrise staff, we can only take it with a huge dump of salt...there is no way we can verify this and I know better than trust hearsays...especially when they come from blogs. :uhoh: (meaning: 75% chances of being unreliable)

What a pity. Why not this spring or summer?
This is a bit late in replying, but I'll go ahead and reply to this.
No one is really sure as to why Code Geass got split up this way. However, when MBS/TBS started airing both Code Geass and Ayakashi Ayashi in the Fall 2006 season, Code Geass was slated to be 25 episodes, while Ayakashi Ayashi was meant to go to the 50-episode range, like its doroku predecessors. So one could argue that Code Geass was originally meant to be only two seasons long, but because of its popularity, it got doubled in episode count. But because another series was slated to take over that timeslot in Spring (Darker Than BLACK), there was no choice but to put Code Geass' remaining two seasons for next Fall.
There is another reason why Code Geass might've have gotten split up this way as well. I remember a poster in the Ayakashi Ayashi thread saying that there was something about Eureka 7 possibly being created to make a new popular anime timeslot on MBS/TBS. They could be trying to do the same thing with Code Geass. After all, Code Geass has a similar setup and feel to the past MBS/TBS Saturday 6pm (doroku) shows (the OP/ED change every 13 episodes, the fact that it's an original production by MBS and Sunrise, etc.) However, because of Blood+ being a failure on the network in the previous year (2005), MBS/TBS might be just experimenting with certain series. In other words, they go by "let's give this 25 episodes and see if it becomes popular. If it does, we'll give it the usual 50-episode treatment that we usually give to our anime shows." This would make sense since their most recent anime haven't particularly done well in the ratings department (Eureka 7, Blood+, Ayakashi Ayashi).
Well, this is my take on the whole thing on MBS/TBS and the shows they've aired. I could be wrong, but they are logical explanations to what may be going on in regards to that particular Japanese broadcaster and Code Geass.
Originally Code Geass was supposed to be in the evening timeslot, then it was switched to the late night. I really am curious why that happened, but in the end I'm extremely grateful because the series wouldn't be this good had it remained in that time slot. Still it sucks that because there's another anime slated for this late night slot in the spring and summer that we must wait til the fall for CG....

Still it sucks that because there's another anime slated for this late night slot in the spring and summer that we must wait til the fall for CG....A series that's supposed to be "Darker than Black" - so if you want a rough estimate of when CG will most likely come back to life, then check the website and other anime information outlets to know the series' speculated/projected length. CG-S2 should be back at the other end.

Originally Code Geass was supposed to be in the evening timeslot, then it was switched to the late night. I really am curious why that happened,
Who knows... MBS/TBS really did some awkward things in regards to anime this season, particularly Ayakashi Ayashi (which is more suitable for late night than primetime) and the whole year-long (50+ episode count) strategy. Code Geass, despite being a Sunrise and a MBS series, was given only 25 episodes to begin with, instead of the usual 50 that's expected of a MBS show. I guess this (and AA) shows that MBS are taking different steps to help step up the ratings, as their previous animes didn't really do all that well.
Anyways, since this is a Q & A thread, I will stop there and ask a question.
The networks that air the earliest Code Geass episodes (MBS/TBS) are replacing the show with Darker Than BLACK after the 23rd episode is revealed. However, according to another forum, other places and networks, such as BIGLOBE and Animax, will air the 24th and 25th episodes. What I would like to know are two things:
1) What is the earliest date for when the 24th and 25th episodes of Code Geass will air?
2) Do you believe that there will be a RAW of these episodes provided by RAW Providers (e.g. Saiyaman)? Yeah, it may be a stupid question, but I don't know how RAWs are created in the first place, so I must ask.

I can guarantee you that even late night, Ayakashi would not have gotten 52 episode 1 year slot. And to have it on prime time was simply suicide. I don't know what they were thinking. :heh: Someone somehow convinced the sponcers and high-ups in MBS to do it, I guess.
The most reasonable thing to do, if they wanted 4 seasons of that, was to do what Code Geass is doing... do 2 seasons, see if it does well, then do the rest. Much like Black Lagoon did with their 2 seasons.
I have no idea who thought it would be marketable in primetime 1 year slot... many people saw it as doomed right from the start.

A couple of questions about CG...
So apparently, the next season is supposed to be called CG: Suzaku of the Counterattack, right? I haven't read the manga, but I have read that both, Suzaku of the Counterattack and Lelouche of the Rebellion follow the same plot line, but from different perpsectives...
So my question is, is the second season supposed to be a continuation of the first from Suzaku's perspective, or will it just continue as is?
Also, it won't be just season 1 repeated in the perspective of Suzaku right?
Bottom Line: What will S2 be about?

Nope.
There has been no announcement or spoiler on what the next series title is.
It may not even be decided yet.
The title you're thinking of is the title of the new CG manga series that started in Feburary issue of BeansA,
following the events of CG from Suzaku's point of view, and is totally diffrent from the anime series.
It has nothing to do with the second anime series.

there's been no spoilers to suggest that.
and the SotC manga doesn't follow the same storyline as the anime. Suzaku dresses up in a lancelot costume instead of piloting a knightmare in fact (you can catch the 'lancelotman' costume in the anime in episode 21.) and many, many events have been changed.
and FO/2ch spoiler guy wouldn't actually answer the question "Should we consider the S2 as "third season" of Code Geass instead of another series?", but everybody I guess assumes it'll be some sort of continuation of the storyline.

Q: Lulu was the 11th Imperial Prince of Brittania when he was dethroned and sent to Japan. Was Nunnally also the 11th Imperial Princess? Were Cornelia and Schneizel already 2nd Imperial Princess and Prince, respectively and Euphemia and Clovis already 3rd Imperial Princess and Prince, respectively, at the time of Lulu and Nunnally's banishment from the Empire? And how could Lulu be the 11th Imperial Prince, but be the 17th in line for the throne? Wouldn't being the xth Prince mean that you're also the xth in line for the throne? Or is it because a woman could also inherit the throne?
Q: Marianne vi Brittania, Lulu and Nunnally's mom, was referred to as the deceased Empress of Brittania. We know that the Emperor's children have different moms, with only Nunnally and Lelouch, and Cornelia and Euphemia being whole siblings. Does that mean there were other Empresses ruling aside from Marianne? Or was Marianne the only Empress? If she was the only ruling Empress and only one Empress can take the throne, who succeeded her after her death? That is unknown.

Q: Does the Emperor of Brittania have a real name? Or is his name just kept secret [ie. unannounced] like CC's?According to the Code Geass prologue novel, it's Lewis/Louis/Lewitz/Ruiz El Britannia. The name's Romanization is unknown. We don't know if the anime will follow this decision, though. So right now it's of very little importance to us.
Or is it because a woman could also inherit the throne?According to a certain magazine spoiler, Nunnally's never been called a 'princess'...the meaning of which is unknown. Fake Okouchi, our CG staff insider at 2chan, has not commented on it, simply stating that it was unconfirmed. We don't know her ranking.
The erstwhile ranking (during Lelouch's time at the palace) is still unknown and right now a bit fortuitous. The staff didn't bother giving all names for the heirs. We only know that the first in line for the throne is a bearded guy (seen during Clovis' funeral) named Aurelien/Aurelia/Aurelian.
Lelouch was the seventeenth because his mother was of lower extraction (she was a prototype Knightmare Frame pilot the Emperor married so as to spark interest in the KF indurstry and help the machines gain importance in the Empire). Since he was of mixed, lower blood, he was lower in the succession ladder. The same went for Nunnally.
And, yes, women can also take part in the succession battle. As Cornelia hinted at during her last conversation with Euphemia, the succession is a battle that princes and princesses can choose to attend or else they're given a simple number based on royal logic.
Wouldn't being the xth Prince mean that you're also the xth in line for the throne?Nope. Not at all.
Lelouch being the 11th Prince simply means he's the eleventh male heir born from the Emperor. This sub-ranking only serves to show which male was born before who. Simply to give an idea of who's older than who (and therefore who's higher than who). It doesn't give any information on whether a princess was born before or whatnot. That's why Lelouch was in the back of the line - there was a shiteload of other princes and princesses before him...all of 'purer' blood.
The Emperor has 108 wives. All Empresses...supposedly. The staff didn't explore that part either. And right now, as there is no information available on the Emperor's brothers, sisters and wives, it's not like it really matters to the show we're watching. We simply assume that they're just there to support the Emperor. And that when he dies, the throne goes to the kids. Period.

Is incest permitted within the Imperial family? What about other families? If you're thinking about Ancient Egypt where marrying one's sisters was one way to legitimize one's succession to the throne, I don't think so...unless the blood of the Britannia line is greatly endangered and must be preserved by intermarriage...but that'd be quite a gripping quandary for the family. And even then polygamy is there to ensure that the Emperor has at least one male heir.
As for the succession thingy, there isn't much information around on how it works, so don't expect wonderwork-like answers...the thing's shady as hell. -_-

Come on Animax, do the right thing.
Thanks, I really appreciate it, Li-san and Renegade-san. :) I'm just curious on how the whole Imperial Family thing works. :heh:
There was one thing you guys had conflicting answers, though, and that is about Marianne and her being Empress. Well, I guess it sort of matters to the show because, erm, Lulu's thirst for vengeance began when his mother, who [I thought] was the Empress, was killed. I mean, he already mentioned it couldn't have been the work of terrorists, as they lived in a very protected Imperial villa of some sort. So, the first thing that crossed my mind was "hmm... the one who wanted Marianne dead is probably the one who wants to replace her as Empress, or just someone who wants to have a higher rank, which can only happen if Marianne's dead."
And the fact that a female could also inherit the throne makes the term "Empress" even more confusing. Ack. What if Marianne wasn't just a wife and had real, executive powers? For her to be envied and killed, maybe it wasn't just status. Maybe it had to do with power, too.

(Hi there, all)
It is possible that the actual sucession line is a sort of ranking system, where one may be able to move up and down, depending on a variety of factors, including one's mother's favor with the emperor. For example, it is possible that, because he was so young, Lulu was so far down on the list because, at the end, when personal factors are irrelevent because they are still too young, only birth decides one's number. It is also possible that things like millitary victories and such can affect one's rank in the sucession. Euphie may be high on the ladder because she is 1) of more pure blood and 2)perhaps she did the emperor a favor of some sort (who knows what, perhaps she convinced her sister or someone to do somthing).

Yeah, which is why I was thinking it couldn't have been the age. It has already been mentioned that Euphie is around the same age as Suzaku, which would also make her around the same age as Lelouch. I was thinking, maybe if Lelouch didn't [or wasn't] 'kicked off' the Imperial list of heirs to the throne, maybe he would've been already promoted to 4th Imperial Prince at present? Because it was specifically mentioned that he was 11th Imperial Prince at the time of his mother's death.
I think it's not likely that it has something to do with achievements. Remember, Euphie was just a student before gaining her decorative Vice-Governor status.

Yes, it must be somthing other then age, though age seems to play some part in it. Like you said, Lulu was 11th prince, though that may be because someone offed a few between then and now. Again, this probably has to do with your favor with the emperor.

Are we sure that the succession gerarchy is an increasing one and not a decreasing one? If it's the latter then the 10th prince has more right to the throne than the first.

It's to do with her double-lives as both Karen and Kallen. Superman's disguise is Clark Kent, and Karen's disguise is the weak and meek Kallen the schoolgirl.

Only if Karen put two and two together.
She probably discounted that possibility because Lulu appeared to be pro-government, yet hasn't done anything that compromises her.

Hi I'm new here. I actually like Code Geass so much that I decided to join a forum where there are people dicussing it, ...though I guess it might be quite late as Ep 23 already aired and there will be big gap between it and 24.
Anyway I would like to ask a question regarding LuluNana deciding to stay in shadow. It maybe a stupid thing to ask but I'm not sure I understand why they both have to be in hiding. At first I thought it's because Lulu doesn't want him and Nunnally be used again by their father for political purposes nor does he wants them be seen as competitors for the throne. But then I learned in Ep 22 that the royal status can be returned as well as the right to throne succession. Why didn't he and Nunnally just show up and do so then?
There's another one point I can think of : They are still feared by the people who ordered their mother's death. They don't know if those people are also after their lives as well, or something like that. But I doubt that's the case if they really abandon their status. It should look logical to Lulu that those people would see them disqualified in every royal matter and thus see no more reason to bother with them = no problem, no?

What makes you think the Assasins wouldn't worry about Lulu going after them for revenge, as Lulu has now plainly done?
Nunnally can't take care of herself, so the only way Lulu can protect her is by making sure their mother's killers thought her children are already dead. For as long as Lulu don't know why her mother was killed, he can't be sure Nunnally could be safe. You just don't take chances for things like this.

Can we assume that V.V. is more powerful than C.C. due to his ability to crush structures(assuming he was responsible for that incident in the mountains) and read minds?
Edit: V.V. read Suzaku's thoughts in Avalon.

I think the ruins were activated by Lelouch's own geass. V.V is still a big question mark in terms of his power and involvement with a lot of things.
But what i do know is that V.V and C.C have telepathic link (how much psychic ability both of em possessed is never revealed though C.C doesn't seem to have much other than being able to mindrape other people and telepathy with certain people).
Possibly have plans for Kallen as well as Lelouch and Suzaku. Is responsible for sending the 3 of em and Euphiemia to the deserted island.
So... what's with the preview of Code Geass: Suzaku of the Rebellion....? I thought I heard somewhere that CG:LotR got the "OK" for 2 more seasons but seems to be ending @ 25 eps...? Is this going to be a continuation of the series?

Wait, what preview? Are you sure it's not a April Fool's joke?
Anyways, Code Geass will have a second season, but I suppose they can change the subtitle and call it Code Geass: Suzaku of the Rebellion.
Yeah, that sounds like someone is joking around. However, they never did clarify what is up with the sequel. They haven't said whether it will be TV season, OAV or movie (I think CG is too popular though and will be another tv series). Nor have they said it would be an actual continuation of the first season. Only that there will be a sequel, which leaves things very vague.

Was that a joke? :eyebrow:
It simply means Suzaku doesn't want his friends to see what he has become: a rabid beast craving for revenge. It simply suggests that he will confront Zero in an aerial battle between a Float System-equipped Lancelot and the flight-enabled Gawain. And he doesn't want his buddies to witness that more than likely bloodsoaked showdown.
Zero's already airborne. With the first shots already traded (well, I should say...one-sided blasts), it's only logical that Suzaku would be sent out to destroy the hovering Gawain...especially since Cornelia has made it clear that the Imperial Army's targets were Zero and the Black Knights. Cut the head of the viper and the body will flounder. Destroy Zero in his Gawain and the Black Knights will disperse or collapse. Either way it's checkmate in Britannia's favor.

Well I think we can mark Code Geass as a seinen so it's only natural that it owns shounen anime like Naruto and Bleach: the shounen genre is made for kids, in particular Naruto. They don't stand a chance against mature (not in the sense of hentai!) anime: see anime like Le Chavalier d'Eon and such... they are on a whole different level compared to shounen anime like Naruto.
I think the anime industry is understanding that the anime watchers aren't only horny male kids and female kids who only think of fashion.
Said that I think shounen anime are good for entraitment, but if you want to use the brain a little while watching an anime then they aren't the right genre. More seinen and less shounen/shoujo crap!!!
Naruto and bleach could entertain us just as much as code geass i reckon, it's just that the produces don't chose to do it that way. They want to drag it out as long as they can since it is directed at an younger age audience.
Code geass is one of my favorite along with FMP TSR, samurai champloo, planetES. These anime have really shorten my tolerance to the lesser animes.

all those rumors are decidely false, and "CG:Suzaku of the Counterattack" is just a manga adaptation based loosely off the anime (Suzaku's secret identity/Lancelotman costume makes a cameo in episode 21)

Cheese pizza has 3 sylables. From how Lulouch reacts to CC's name, we can tell its somthing relativly normal, after all, he says that its more human then CC. Gah! What a point to put the show on hiatus!
i just had an apifany... recall in EP1 that during the contract binding with the 'dead CC' that this group of guys with their backs turned were like 'you will join the ragnorocks'. the guy in the middle, does he resemble the emperor? and he has demonstrated multiple times that he could communicate like CC. so what if the emperor actually wants this rebellion to happen and sent leuleoch there beforehand all part of his plan? (makes me think, what if CC is actually the old dude's spy? EP22 when CC just finds out lulu cant control geass and oldman starts laughing)
^that's perhaps going a bit far, I mean we've seen in 23 the emperor certainly approves of Lelouch's rebellion. but that might be simply because he wants a worthy opponent (he did say of schniezel "if he's sure of himself, he can come and challenge me")
on the other hand, if Marianne is the one talking to both the Emperor and CC, she might be involving Lelouch into this whole ragnarok project. it really can go any way at this point.
it is a deep thought tho :o
What's happening to episode 24? How come it is delayed? (or, is it?)
Will Season 2 send right after 24 and 25 ? Anyone got any information on that ?
^so far not at all. very little is knonwn about season 2, or even episode 24 and 25 for that matter. though considering that the geass production staff probably don't have a completed outline for something that's months upon months away, its not that surprising.
you can search the spoilers thread for some of the 2ch guy/FO Q&As and magazine posts for everything we know so far, but right now a few things we know about S2 are:
1. Jun Fukuyama, Lelouch's voice actor, will be in an interesting position.
2. The character who appeared in episode 23 (long haired man in China) will be a character in S2
3. Suzaku will drop his "boku"/nice guy personality more and more. for those who want to see Geass as a show with dual main characters (Suzaku and Lelouch), S2 will support that idea even more
4. however, it has also been made clear that for Taniguchi and the staff, Lelouch is the only main character. everyone else is a supporting character.

Season one used up all of its airtime already. They only got enough spots for 25 straight episodes, two of which were used up on recaps 8.5 and 17.5. Thus we must wait for 24 and 25 to air at a different time, which hasn't been determined yet, at least to my knowledge.

Code Geass Sequel World Premiere
STAGE24&25 will debut the Code Geass sequel animation in Japan in a series of 90 minute events On July 21st in Osaka and July 22nd in Tokyo. Several of the key staff and cast of the original will appear.
from here (clickme) (http://www.animenewsservice.com/) at the 5-9-07 (9:18AM EDT) entry. Are they uhh... talking about episodes 24 and 25? Or is this the second season they're talking about out?
Can anyone confirm this?
Renegade334
2007-05-13, 09:55
1. It's not the sequel. It's the remainder of S1. The staff simply f-ed up with their schedule and ran out of allowed episode slots for the TV season. They're simply releasing the last eps of S1 with a big delay, that's all. S2 will follow shortly after, right behind Darker than Black...although I guess that, to make things easier, they'll integrate 24&25 with the other S2 eps...since 23's final seconds had been built like an ending (with credits and such) for S1.
2. Yes, it's confirmed. By multiple sources, including 2chan (who filed the notice first, to be even more precise). And it's a private screening. Only 1,500 fans hand-picked by some sort of lottery will be able to see it. The eps will presumably be released shortly thereafter.

-.-....... They're making 24 and 25 a movie... retarded.. now we have to wait for a long time even after 7:21 for the dvd version to be out.....

After that? Definitely.
24&25 conclude the battle for Japan. S2 resolves the Britannia problem and Lelouch's quest for revenge.

However, a movie could last for One and a half hours. Two would most likely be at least worth 6 episodes. Could they end it all at those times, compared to their fast progress of developement? Maybe.. Maybe not. I hope you are right about them making series 2 after the movie.

true, DVD's are in beter quality than the subs, however there is no change in mistakes etc. for that you have the remastered versions which usually comes out MUCH later.. would be when the series have even finished, however CG doesnt hold many mistakes, has a good budget and isnt old anime so the quality is very good even now for the DVD's i havent checked them yet though

I think they are making it a movie cuz 23 mins is not enough and there are (almost no time slots) to fit it in(also they could make alot of profits) if its a movie
I know somebody will release the boot leg version:heh::heh:

its surely longer than 23 minutes, for starters its a double episode so it will be around 45-47 minutes in time.. maybe theyll put more time in it but i doubt itll be like a movie..

I don't hope ep 24 en 25 are a movie because, to see it we need to wait for the DVD release and that wil probably be when S2 is already airing

so far it hasnt been confirmed that it will be a movie.. and i would doubt that it will be
some people here said around that they hope it wont be 23 minutes.. however 2 episode specials usually have a running time of about 47 minutes so expect somethign like that..
we wont have to wait for the DVD to view it.. the special screening is probably done before the official TV broadcast however no real date has been set yet (however rumors point to early August) but im sure we wont have to wait for the DVD.. right now theyre at DVD 6 taking care of the begin stages of Mao with Shirley being brain washed by Geass... by the time it would come out the second season is probably already airing :)
It won't be movie and DVD can already be pre-ordered

Indeed it is. I hope that it'll also serve as a delay for them to start off S2, so we won't have to wait again after watching the finale.

i'm afraid the later news both 24 & 25 won't be aired on TV broadcast until the last Final DVD released on september

Is that your fear or actual news? The way you've worded your post is very unclear.

That's definitely not actual news, but only a deadline for speculation about the two eps' release. If the DVD is, according to official information, to be put on sale in September, then 24 & 25 must be released to the audience before that date - and I'm talking, of course, about the tv airing, not the theater screening, which is, IMHO, only a small tease to whet the larger fanbase's appetite.

I saw anidb.net list the episode 24 and 25 air date on July 21st. Maybe that might be the air date. At least i hope :heh:.

I saw anidb.net list the episode 24 and 25 air date on July 21st. Maybe that might be the air date. At least i hope :heh:.That's the first private theater screening for eps 24 & 25 in both Tokyo and Osaka...not the TV air slot. I guess they only take in count the first time the eps were released to the public, and not the means (theater, tv, streaming download, direct-to-DVD, etc).

July 21-22 is for the theaters.
24 and 25 are airing on Saturday, July 28 at 26:25.
Or at least that's what Moonphase (http://www.moonphase.cc/Html/anime.html) says for now(scroll down to 07/28).
Ok, this question may have been asked, but I have no idea how I could go about phrasing it so I can search for it.
Why is Code Geass in the old series forum?
