Space Fantasia 2001 Nights

Hi all.
IMHO this is a cool old anime (1987) oav.
I've liked 2001 space odyssey by kubrik and i've found in this oav a similar philosophy.
What do you think about it?

Is it a adaption of the old manga series?

If yes, that one reminded me a bit on hi no tori, regarding scope.

There was actually a OVA for 2001 nights? Wow! Which were the Nights adapted?

(2001 Nights was a very nice old "hard science fiction" anthology manga. The ?out of print? English manga translation was in three volumes by Viz, IIRC.)

It seems to be an adaptation of Night 4 "Posterity", my favorite tale in Vol 1., and apparently a few other related Nights from the other Volumes I haven't read yet.

Too bad this was just a one shot OVA, or they could cover more Nights, like Hi No Tori series.
