I don't know how many of you follow kendo, but last weekend, USA and Korea made history.
In the 13th World Kendo Championships (WKC is held every 3 years), Japan was finally defeated for the first time ever. This isn't a big surprise, people had expected the Korean team to beat Japan eventually, and this year was the "most expected." But it wasn't the Korean team, but the USA team. No one expected USA to beat Japan, but they won in a very close match.
Korea made history by beating USA and taking first place. First time a non-Japanese team had won first place.
