Sorry to put up a unless thread like this, but i would like to know whether anyone here is from or currently located the Isle of Man (UK) is on the website.
Its hard to find people out on the island who say they like anime.
I know I'm not really helpful with that, but I've been there visiting last summer (Douglas + Castletown).
It is a beautiful place (and the people have been a lot more gentle and tolerant against foreigners than the places I've been in England, as far as I could tell), wish I could live there to be honest. Oh and gosh how surprised we was upon seeing the horse-trams :) .
I didn't met with any anime-fan though, sorry :/ .
As for the topic: I grew up in Budapest - Hungary (Eastern Europe), I've lived half a year in Krems an der Donau - Austria, I've lived a year in Carlisle - UK, and also half a year in Southport - UK.
It's a royal pain in the *ss to finally move back to the west though, with all that ongoing economic crisis.
Originally from Washington, NC. Now located in Charlotte, NC.
Atlanta, not very interesting...T_T

I would say it depends on your native language. For example hungarian is generally considered as one of the hardest language (Source (http://www.usingenglish.com/comprehension/5.html)), so also for that reason -among other things- it wasn't difficult to self-learn english from the TV while I was still a young lad (6 year old or so), despite that they taught me german in my school.
So anyway I think it all depends on your mother tongue, and the language you desire to learn, plus your own talent at remembering various linguistics.

NY in the house
Where on Lawn Guyland are you located?
Northern germany. Half of me comes from the philippines, though. Hopefully will be visiting again in spring next year :/
The location I gave in my profile (<---) is a pun to the name of my hometown and a piece of 'art' here, named "Hangover". It's nothing more than a few cars made of stone attached to the bottom side of the bridge behind the central station - thus 'hanging' there upside down.
And it's a pun because my city's name is Hanover ;) You might only have heard about it, because the world expo was held here in 2000.
NY in the house

I wish I knew what that meant, but specifically Eastern Long Island, though I shuffle between Manhattan and Long Island quite a lot. :D

Aww dont say that.. I've lived a lot of places, and I've found the U.S to be quite nice actually.. well, maybe thats just because of where I live there, the people are friendly, the area is beautiful, but the weather is god awful :) ( I stay in MN )

Ah I see.
I guess you don't have the stereotypical thick LI accent, where "Long Island" sounds like "Lawn Guyland" ;)
I live in "western Long Island" (lol Queens) but thankfully don't have that accent

Do it!! Vermont is awesome. :D
Southern VT can be a little boring, but the Essex, Burlington, Middlebury area is great.
I have lived in Seattle for quite a while, but I am originally from VT. I'll likely move back to Vermont once I have made my riches as a software developer.

I was born in Korea but I have a Canadian citizenship. I was living in Japan until last week; I moved back to Korea but then took a short trip back to Japan for my grad trip; I'm going to Canada the day after tomorrow.
But right now I'm sitting in my apartment in Seoul, South Korea.

I was born and raised in one of the blandest states in the union, Missouri, the “show me” state! I've never lived outside the state and in fact I'm the fourth generation to live in the same small rural town. I went to the same high school as my father and grandfather.
