Hi,
This maybe a stupid question, but i have watched Fullmetal Alchemist anime episodes 1-51 and the movie "Conqueror of Shamballa" and OVA's also, so is that it? Is the Fullmetal Alchemist anime really finished? I didn't like the movie ending, so that's why i ask...
Are there any news / rumors about new episodes or perhaps a second movie or anything that would continue the story?
If not, i'm starting to read the manga, although i dislike the ending they gave to a perfectly good anime...

I havenīt read any rumours at all so Iīm presuming that the movie and OVAīs is the last we got to see from FMA as an anime. And I too strongly disliked the ending that we got from the FMA movie so I picked up the manga which is a real joy to read so I recommend that you do the same.
I agree, thanks dude... I have allready downloaded most of the manga chapters and by the end of the day i have them all...
By the way, i gotta ask that was there some kind of announcement that the movie is the end of the anime? Or anything like that?

um maybe but the ending hinted at at least another movie i don't think of a whole new buch of eps so i am looking forward to it

No, I just hope that its not finished =/ I want to see more of the anime damnit I just hope they make like a second season or something.

Ed does not exactly die. Well he does, but not really. In episode 50 Envy stabs him and he's bleeding quite horribly and he dies. But Al, who is the Philosopher's Stone, sacrifices himself to bring Ed back (for he's probably still in the gate). Then Ed awakes, finding Al gone. He has his arm and leg back, which looks funnily weird XD. He then transmutes himself to bring Al back (brotherhood, lovely) and Al returns, loosing his memory of the last years, and Ed travels to the other side of the gate.
That's what he means.
@Skat42345: Have you seen the movie?

a great fan service that they' could do is get the original author of FMA to produce an OVA that will end and satisfy everyone...
i really want to see ed and al back to their world so ed can marry winry @____@ and mustang as the new fuher =D
well there arent really a lot of great endings out there nowadays but my favorite has to be Gungrave's ending and Kenshin's.....:sigh: i hate how these sweet fantasy worlds have to end T____T
I would have been satisfied with the ending had they not ended it right before World War II!! I mean, they are travelling with a Gypsy! The Nazis jailed them the same as jews, and you know Ed and AL would fight for her, so they would be jailed too. Had they just said they got through WWII or got to a free country such as the UK, or US, or that juggernaut the USSR(Not the best choice), but no, they end it with them driving in a truck right in the middle of Germany. The beer hall takeover failed(As it did in movie) and Hitler was arrested(This is when he wrote Mein Kampf). But the Nazis did take control later. Surely those three would be arrested or killed in the forthcoming times. Although the best ending would be for them to get back to their time(Kinda wish they could have at least have said goodbye to more than three), I would have been happy with an escape to a free country..but nooo.

i hated the ending!! it was sooooo sad! they left winry behind!! that is sooooo sad!! it made me cry and al made me cry b4 i new that he would follow ed!!:mad: other than the ending i luvd it!!:love:

I would like to see more Full Metal Alchemist maybe another movie. I might like to see another series but that's not likely to happen.
Quite honestly, I wish they would make a second season, even if it was only 13 episodes, that overrides the events of the movie. I highly disliked the way things progressed and turned out in the movie.
I have to say, the Full Metal Alchemist "Kids" OVA, short as it was gave me some hope because: it showed Edwards grandkids in our modern time staring up at a giant movie poster at a theatre showing the Fullmetal Alchemist movie, which could be taken to say that the movie is just a "fantasy" and not necessarily the way things "really" happened after the TV series, which given the blatent style over substance feel of the movie in comparison to the series would make sense.

at which chapter of the manga did the anime+movie left off?
I have not read the manga, but from what ive heard and understand is that around the time of Maes Hughes's death the manga and anime essentially split ways and the anime goes off in another direction entirely from the manga.

The movie ending wasn't that bad if you ask me.
The anime ending is strange and different (but not bad). I didn't expect something like that.
Making the movie to finish the story was a great idea, and it worked well.
If you ask me, I would say it's 80% happy ending and 20% of the things I wanted to happen but they did not. Overall - good and interesting.
...and I doubt that there will be more of the fullmetal alchemist anime. Story is pretty much finshed, but everything is possible...
I didn't watch the OVAs. What are they like?
The anime is over. The brothers are stuck in our world, end of story.
