Two Requests.

[Paper Lilies]

I'm looking for two things: Something absurdly funny, and a nice, dramatic anime. I'm a sucker for animes that make me cry, and something that could cheer me up after watching the sad anime. I'd prefer if the anime had 26 or less episodes, as I tend to drop anime if it gets too long. (Don't ask me why, I'm not sure of it myself.)

Something to cheer you up after:
Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wallflower_(manga)) [Comedy] Really hilarious! Character designs aren't that great but lots of chibi figures are used, its cute and funny. The things that happen will leave you wanting to watch more. 14 episodes.

If you like Marimite, then try watching Strawberry Panic. Like Marimite, the anime is also yuri. It has romance, drama, and slight comedy

Unfortunatly, noting absurdly funny comes to mind, I don't usually watch anime just for comedy, but you'll probably like Peach Girl, it's a cute romantic drama in true shoujo spirit. It has no supernatural undertones, like Kanon or Air, and stays pretty realistic, though the antics of certain characters are exgagerated for the sake of the plot, or for comedic effect. I also recommend Asatte no Houkou (A Direction of the Day After Tommorrow), the story of two young women who switch ages (not bodies, ages) and what happens to them thereafter, it's currently being subbed, but it's almost over-- I think the last couple episodes have been aired already, just not subbed yet.

For drama/comedy I always recommend Nana and Paradise Kiss. They are both a manga and anime series. Story by Ai Yazawa. They're great. Monster is a really good dramatic psych thriller. Not so funny but awesome story. But it's long.

If you like Marimite, then try watching Strawberry Panic. Like Marimite, the anime is also yuri. It has romance, drama, and slight comedyYeah, but it does none of those anywhere as well as Marimite does. I'd only recommend Strawberry Panic is you really want a Marimite clone, and you're willing to settle for something second-rate.
