Great episode. Yeah, pretty predictable that it was going to end at that particular point. The next episode is going to be VERY interesting.

It's a saying; the episode ended with a massive cliffhanger, so it makes the wait for the next episode seem that much longer. :p

Ooh, really? Could anyone provide comparison screencaps? I'm very curious.
Hmmm, they made little changes to the OP... Scrolling text at the beginning has been rearranged slightly. The Simplified Chinese name for DN 死亡笔记 is to the right now. Also, Misa's blushing red :p
Didn't notice anything about the ED but while looking for diffs, I noticed Light (or someone else) is writing the ED song "Zetsubou Billy" in the Death Note.
The way L was watching that ad at the beginning was hilarious! More fan service for Misa fans too. She actually looks more mature in that CM.
Like the way they used the music when Higuchi kills the policeman and L warns everyone how he now has the ability to kill just by looking at someone's face alone.
Plenty of suspense!
Good work with the trailer too.
Light reading the Death Note rules as if they're something new then that smirk. Anyone can see that things are going his way in the next ep somehow.
It also shows Higuchi's name being written in the Death Note.

I said "long week", not "long wait." :) The episode left us hanging with the way it was concluded, so the usual week-long wait may feel too long for the answer to come for some of us like me. If you are still worried, then rest assured that there will be a Death Note episode next week.

Just rewatched episode 23 --- man Higuchi is GAR in the anime. I liked his character in the manga, though with the help of music and such, it really brings his character to life much more then one could believe. I always believed that he was the perfect member of the group to be the Kira of-the-moment.

It's like saying there's going to be some big celebration next week in your country but not telling you what it's going to be about.
Besides, it's just a guess that something big will happen in the next few eps :p

Yes, but the surprise/awe factor has much more impact without the aid of the vaguest of hints when a first time viewer is watching the series in stride. Besides, it's pretty obvious you read the manga as it has been hinted in couple of your posts.
My general request to everyone: Please no hinting. Anime-only fans are bound to find out in due time since Madhouse is pretty faithful to the source material. There is always this (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=38819) thread a manga readers can use to unload all the pent up spoilers very easily. Go there and sing like a canary. :heh:
Good episode, very good! What's with Misa and getting tied up so much? It's not like just a few little chains and rope here and there, but an insane amount! I'm guessing from the preview of 24, our hero will be coming back...can't wait!

Remember, these police officers aren't on a regular duty.
They are policemen working independently, on their own decision, lead by Aizawa and Ide.
Police are officially not pursuing Kira, so these policemen aren't directly acting in the interest of the police dept.
Yeah, hinting is just spoilerish. I prefer getting surprised, not waiting for something to happen.

Light's a true mastermind. The next episode will be very interesting, Light should explain his brilliant plan next. Even though i have read the manga, i can hardly wait for it. Maybe ill read the manga again at this part, its the best part of the Yotsuba arc.
Good episode. Higuchi is dumb, he should have burned the note on the spot once his car was disabled. Judging from the next episode, everyone finds out about the Shinigami and the Death Note. Which... is really bad for Light. And from Light's face and the Episode title being Revival... well I think we can all assume whats coming next. :cool: Can't wait to see how this plays out!

I don't think thats true, though there may be a rule like that --- doesn't come into play within the series at this point though, so know one would no about it, even Light.
& even if it was a rule, Rem wouldn't interfere in Light's big plan unless she thinks thats what she wants her to do.

We can safely assume that the Death Note is invisible if it's in ownership of a shinigami. Otherwise, Ryuk following Light around in school, people would see his (not Light's) Death Note floating around.
However, just being in "possession" of Death Note probably doesn't affect it.
The shinigami most likely have to have "ownership" of it for it to be invisible, like their body.

Death note episode 23 is excellent! When i look Death Note I'm always attentive and it's not boring. And when it's finished i want to know the sequel. The next episode will be probably full of surprise !

This episode was so WICKED!! but judging from episode 24 preview it looks like Light is back to being Kira,i gotta say tho it was nice to see Light n L work together,Light is just too damn evil!!

It has to be invisible when in the shinigamis possession. When Higuchi wrote Matsuda's name, the death note was in HIS possession so it was visible to all.

Well, fur pure high-paced action and Hollywood thrills, anime doesn't get much better than that.
Guess I'm in the minority, but I enjoyed this arc a lot - it's cool seeing L and Light on the same team, wondering just how much each has pieced together about the other. Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer, as they say - and in this case, that line is always rather blurred...

"Death Note Light" is such a evil person though... like most anime bad guys would have some trace of morals or something... I really want him to die :/ It would have been cool if he rejected the Death Note in the end because of what he felt working with L. It would have been mushy, but less predictable in this particular anime.
And I feel so sorry for Misa! She's not really evil, but with the Death Note'd version of Light going around, she can be worse...

I voted for a perfect 10. For me, I'm not very fond of the 8 "Kiras" so the previous few episodes IMO was a bit boring. And I guessed wrongly who the 3rd Kira was :(
This was an ecstatic episode to me. The police drama and the persecution were arranged in
such a believable manner, that I got the feeling I was watching a live-action film.
Alfred, no I mean Watari certainly rocks, given his age, at possessing the dexterity of a
sharpshooter.
The ligthing and color effects of Higuchis' Shinigami eyes was very enthralling, that whenever the camera shot at him with his angry faces and deranged eyes of red he looked like
the devil unleashed on the road.
This is more accentuated and climaxing with the infamous quasi-Christian, apocalytpic song playing on the background, which sounds more foreboding and haunting than that of the film of the Omen.
The episode built anticipation on me to set up a reaction once L came at the verge of
discovering live on what is Kira's murdering method (a.k.a. the Death Note), and this
expectancy will carry on for next episode; L, finally, finding out the Death Note.
It is too bad that this story arc is coming to a close for me, because I have grown to care
for the characters of Light and L once they started to combine their wits. Unfortunately,
the authors and writers are calling on more for the progression of the story than the
characters. Therefore, I am very afraid for myself to come to understand that the old-fashioned L will be returning next episode as the title implies.
