On a related note though, didn't the original PC game feature a lot of ero content? Or at least, the ero content was quite important to the story (or more than other PC -> PS2 conversion such as Kanon or Shuffle)? I wonder how they would make the story still work; unless they just end up making everything 'implied'...

iirc basically what happened here was that makoto moved over to sekai which caused kotonoha to move over to taisuke (probably to make makoto jealous) ~ on the day of the school festival makoto followed them both ~ he followed them to a deserted location where he encounter the rape happen in school...taisuke ws basically forcing onto her using his "boyfriend" status...

The only time this happens is on the roof with Makoto, Kotonoha, and Sekai together. This is the moment Sekai accepts the idea of all 3 of them being together.

so there are three possible bad endings for the School Days PC game?
I've seen two out of three so far in Veoh, and I've posted one video up in the Q&A thread of School Days and I gotta say, somehow all the bad endings are all Kotonoha related.
The endings I've seen were titled "Eternally" and something about Christmas Eve.
But from all the talks about this game, its also an H-game, but it sure has some twisted endings.:twitch:
just felt I should share my 2cents on the bad endings that I've seen....

yea I can sense that School Days seems to have that huge sexual drive than any other Harem anime that I've watched.
I can see why Kotonoha would do such things...despite everything she has done to change herself to suit Makoto's needs, he simply just brushes it off and goes off with Sekai.
This has made me believed that School Days the anime might end in a bad note...or probably a good way...some people can't stand a bad ending...not to mention the bad endings that the game has to offer.

BTW those endings that I saw were really really unexpected...especially for the Kotonoha with murder weapon in hand...really really unexpected and so unreal.:twitch:

She still treats you like a leper (like what happened in the anime, even when Makoto was being a horny idiot) even if you are super nice >_>

Huh? while playing "flawlessly nice" to Kotonoha, Sekai is barely noticeable until the pool sequence, which drastically change the outcome.

this is exactly the same problem once you do "too nice with sekai": kotonoha is barely in makoto's sight, but can screw because of silly random choice. (who said that intercourse in that bed room in school, because you simply pick "go on a walk" ? -__-")

Sekai is still in the background providing advice and support. She also still "chats" to Kotonoha to stick up for Itou and cause her to come back to him.

In real life, if I was having relationship issues, and then I found out my friend was secretly helping me out, I would be super thankful. And I would be even more amazed if I found out that friend liked me :heh: (at this point i better say that that friend was opposite sex like in this anime lest people get unwanted ideas about me!)

Anyone care to explain this ? I'm really curious.

Summer Days is not canon. It's just a fan disc with a "what if" scenarior for fans who wants to see more of the popular minor characters in School Days.

Lolicons who demands Kokoro to be screw got their wish. Those into the older women fetish has their demands met as stated. And the rest of the fans get more Setsuna which was over good.

If only there arn't those huge patches to be download to begin with.

0verflow probably ran out of money toward the end of production (the excuse that they duplicated the wrong master sounds like hogwash, given how long it took for the problems to be addressed. I know that a few Western game developers have used the same excuse to pacify angry fans). At that point, you either suspend development/shut down, hope for an emergency loan (unlikely if you can't pay back what you already owe), or release an unfinished game just to generate revenue ASAP. It's a lose/lose situation.

On the plus side, 0verflow actually fixed the game with the money they earned, unlike some other companies.

Taisuke scene happens during the same "episode" of Hikari's ending "sex friend".

I don't think you will be able to find this, except if you actually search for explicit locations *cough*
Both scene (Taisuke's, and the proper ending) are quite explicit.

here is a digest summary :

Much like what i wrote in episode 8 thread:
-Taisuke raped Kotonoha
-Hikari and Makoto were witnessing it
-Makoto tried to match Hikari and Taisuke
-They organized a double date at kotonoha's house
-Taisuke reveals he knew both were peeping at them during the sex scene (well, the rape)
-Because of a specific condition, makoto and hikari were forced to have sex
-Taisuke was impressed, and jumped at her.

-Makoto leaves them, and Kotonoha was expecting both of them doing the same, but makoto refuses
-Hikari and Makoto leaves the house, and Hikari comments how Taisuke was rough etc.
-However, hikari reveals she liked a lot makoto's "performance" and lust over him, as Taisuke was clearly not enough
-from here, hikari begun to be makoto's mistress (well, the title sex friend), but still goes out with sekai

depending how you did in the sex scene between hikari and makoto when taisuke was watching, the following might happen :
-Hikari got pregnant (the ending Sex Friend), and you see a "humourous" picture of them, while sekai is completely depressed (in a comic way) on the background.

Question on two of the Katsura endings for the game:

In the one where Makoto rushes to Katsura's defense against Otome and her friends, what was he telling them? What was he talking with Sekai and Nanami about? And what were Sekai and Nanami apologizing about later on?

In the ending where he brings Katsura lunch after Otome's friends ruins hers, did he realize that she was being bullied? What were the girls telling Katsura and what were they discussing afterwards? Hikari and Nanami also looked rather angry when he was talking with Katsura at the station; why was that? Also just what were Katsura's sister and mother discussing at the beginning and end?

According to Wikipedia, there are 21. I personally haven't gotten all of them, but have most.

From my own experience, there are happy endings, but only for one girl at a time. For instance:

Sekai's ends: Makoto gets with Sekai, Kotonoha is alone or with Taisuke :uhoh:

Kotonoha: Kotonoha, in her dark and very unlikable side, tricks Makoto to give up on Sekai. Some endings have him going to Kotonoha on his own will, dumping Sekai.

Otome: Makoto gives up on Kotonoha and Sekai, goes to Otome

Hikari: Doesn't give a care about Kotonoha, stays as Sekai's boyfriend, and has sex with Hikari all the time.

Setsuna: Meh... Setsuna comes back pregnent. Makoto doesn't get to do anything about anything (I haven't bothered with this end yet).

Since its the game Thread i will post this here. Well i finally installed the school days game. But after i installed the game , when i tried to play it, it did play with some lag. However when i try to fastforward i get a :
"Display Driver nvlddmkm stopped responding" which is an error related to Graphic cards. Also now my games such as Command and conquer 3 and WOW get that error too. However i was able to fix it with system restore.

I was wondering if any one else encountered the problem as i did when they installed the game.

Well basically it is a graphic card related error and it makes your computer to crash while playing video games or even sometimes photoshop and other highly graphic intensive softwares. Some people say its driver related, some say it is because of parts being defective and many other reasons have been stated. I initially got the error when i got my new computer and it didnt go away after days of technical support. So they replaced my computer and it got fixed. However i got this problem again after installing school days.

I understand that there are 6 episodes in a story arc. from 第一話 to 第六話
（最終話） in the walkthrough

Exactly, the decisions on a clicked "episode" are the one you have to select in the previous episode to do so.

the "yuri" doesn't exist. rather, there is a "somehow" yuri scene, because of the harem ending with sekai and kotonoha.

I haven't played this in a while so I'm not sure if this is the right path, but I believe this is what happened:

Sekai's mom ends up being invited to go to Paris, and she tells Sekai this and that she will transfer to Paris. She doesn't want to leave Makoto, but she thinks that it can't be helped.
Setsuna, being the wonderful friend she is, decideds on a rather sneaky plan.
She goes to Makoto's house and has him cooperate. She takes a picture of him and her naked in bed with her cellphone and shows it to Sekai and her friends at school.
Sekai is shocked by this but thinks it is for the best because she has to leave anyways, but Setsuna calls Sekai's cellphone again later. When Sekai picks up the phone, what replies is Setsuna's moaning which seems to be Setsuna having sex with Makoto. Makoto and Setsuna manage to convince Sekai to stay and not transfer. Then it is shown that Makoto and Setsuna never really had sex with each other and it was all an act by the two.

In the end, Sekai seems to have convinced her mom not to leave and she gets to stay with Makoto. On the other hand, it seems the offer to go to Paris was then given to Setsuna's mom so Setsuna ends up going to Paris.

This end/path really showed me how devoted Setsuna is to Sekai. Setsuna really is a good girl. *sniff*

Because cause-and-effect could be placed this way:

Kotonoha steals Makoto-->Sekai suffers-->Makoto gains happiness until Sekai kills him-->Present time
Basically, if Kotonoha never took Makoto away from Sekai, Sekai would never have faced that fate. <--true, no matter how unfair...
Also, Sekai was their friend compared to the stranger Kotonoha, so of course they would back her up.
Yeah, I think Youko feels bad for what Sekai did.

Yeah, I'm not sure how it can happen either. Perhaps they added some material in LxH for Sekai and Taisuke ? I don't have the game myself, so maybe someone who has played this route in LxH can shed some light.

It is perfectly H-scene free, as are pretty much every PS2 adaption of H-games.
I think it's possible. All they have to do is similar to the anime and just suggest the scenes without showing anything.

Based on what I've seen, there are no nudity, no naked boobs, but it really depends on what you mean by suggestive material. You don't see anything, but Makoto talks about touching quite a lot (touching Sekai, touching Kotonoha... etc etc). You also get some conversation that could be interpreted as them sleeping together, but you don't see any of it, and no moaning or anything (ie: "you're so warm Makoto", "how many times has it been today" - they might have been talking about kissing here because Makoto says 8...:twitch:). So based on what I've seen I highly doubt it'll go past what they showed in the anime.

At least it wasn't as akward. Actually, they remade that ending by adding a little bit in the end. When Makoto is at the Kotonoha's grave, Sekai actually shows up. When he says he became a nurse for no particular reason, she reveals she got married, got a divorce soon after, got an abortion, visits the grave.... all for no particular reason too. It ends with Sekai walking away, saying "Even though the forecast calls for rain, the weather's real nice today, don't you think ?", possibly referencing Kotonoha smiling in the sky. The new ending is now "blue smile"

Am I the only one who's having problems with running School Days?
I received it today, and I can't play it with my PS2. It's a PAL one, so I'm using the magic swap.
I've done some researchs, and it appears that the magic swap doesn't run DVD9... Is School Days a DVD9?
If that's so, is there any way to play School Days, without buying a japanese PS2?
I've wanted to play this game for so long, so if I learn that I can't play it without a Japanese PS2 (which would be quite expensive), I think I'll kill myself, like some people do in School days...

school days is a dvd9 game. So yeah, like you said, swap magic won't work. The only thing you can do is mod your ps2, buy a jap ps2, or if you ever plan to buy a ps3, get a japanese ps3. ps3 games are region free, so it doesn't matter what region ps3 you get, but ps2 and ps1 games are still region lock. so if you want to run jap ps2 games with a ps3, you need a jap ps3.

If you have a PS2 with a network adapter you can load the hard drive that way, or you could just attach an external hard drive via USB. You have the tool copy the game to the hard drive, and from then on it plays from there, DVD-9 games included. I may actually look into these myself as I have a number of Japanese PS2 games, and this seems much, much better than the "swap trick" (which I hate!).

(Incidentally, for those who wonder about whether you're allowed to post about this, we should tread lightly. I wouldn't post any links to sites that sell this sort of stuff for obvious reasons. Supporting people who actually purchased the game is one thing, but discussing similar things to help pirates is a definite no-no. and no information on the 80GB....not sure if it's even out in Japan.

I think Sony Japan announced that they are discontinuing the Japanese 20 and 60GB version back in January 2008. You probably can still find them, but it'll be hard. And I also have no idea why the 40GB version is cheaper than the 20GB version.

This is what I do with my import games, and I can confirm Schools Days LxH does indeed work with this method using the latest version of hdloader (0.8b I think). It might be better to use WINHIIP to install the DVD-9 with your computer first.

Hey there, I've an issue with the installation.

When it finish the install I get an "error" message that stands Microsoft.msxml2.publickeytoken and lots of numbers and then I can only press the OK button but then suprisingly it reverses my install and cancels it.

...Arrggh! What in the world?! Is there some sadist that worked on the PS2 (LxH) game?

I had time and found some new additions/endings that are PS2-only, and... Geez, maybe it is just that there are no videos for normal endings, but they sure like bad ends... and making the girls crazy. It wasn't enough having Kotonoha be the psycho, but even Sekai! :mad:

-In three new endings, Mr. Train becomes the killer.
In two endings, Sekai pushes Kotonoha into the train track.
In 歪んだ髪 (Twisted/Bent Hair), Makoto manages to pull Kotonoha back up, but Sekai gets run over.
In 無邪気な夕日 (Innocent Evening), both girls get run over. Makoto lives.
In 灯火 (Light), Kotonoha acts like some obsessed stalker (well, she actually kind of is...) and continues trying to get Makoto to date her again, but he doesn't. In anger, she starts talking (shouting) with Sekai and accidentally pushes her into the tracks... Guess what happens next.

In 暗躍 (Secret Maneuver), after Makoto chooses Sekai, time passes. Nanami and Hikari talk about how they will stop Kotonoha if she tries to do something again, but Sekai, with a evil face says that won't happen. The group walks past a TV, and the news say the body of a girl was discovered. Nanami and Hikari realize the heavily damaged corpse is Kotonoha, and they shout out at the couple, but Sekai just walks by and ignores them.

冷たいマフラー (Cold Muffler) is the new version of the "Conclusion of Fresh Blood", and after Kotonoha kills Sekai, she tries to hand the saw back to Makoto. In fear (of course), he knocks the saw out of her hand and sends it over the bridge. Her hand gets cut a bit. Then she wraps her muffler around Makoto and cries.


Sorry to break the mood, but Setsuna's end seems to now be titled "西瓜" (Watermelon).

Anyways, as you can see, PS2 version seems to love bad ends.
I'm going to cheer myself up by playing the nice PC version...
Otome is great, by the way. Random, but the girl needs more love. She doesn't even have a proper end in Summer Days, besides for the short "bad ends". Though that might mean she is his destined partner (or something like that). :heh:

I would certainly not suggest you to buy the game if you are merely liked the anime: the game is fully in japanese, without any near future english patch for it. Hence, it would be an awkward investment until you know what you are doing.

Big news...
Overflow will going to release another spin-off for School Days game, "Cross Days".
This time Makoto Ito will be the supporting character instead of main character, so does Sekai Saionji. But Kotonoha Katsura will be one of the main heroine characters. The storyline take place exactly the same event of School Days, only with the main male character's point of view (not Makoto).

There will be a lot of new character and some returning character (especially my favourite heroine Setsuna). The officials not yet confirm whether there will be any violent scene include in bad endings.

In order to be a complete replacement instead of a mere patch, we have had to restart halfway, so our development time was nearly doubled. The original idea seemed to be very solid, but unfortunately the libraries needed to perform online installations was flagged by many anti-virus scanners as malware. As a result, the installer size has grown from a few hundred kilobytes to around 260MB for just episode 1. We may consider releasing multiple installers to save redundancy, but it is unlikely at this point.

Does anyone know where to find videos of the new LxH endings, I can't seem to locate them anywhere, I can find a few, like the epilogue to Eternity, and "The whole bloody affair" but none of the others. It seems no one mentioned it here yet, but the translation group translating the game made a patch for game-episode 1 (I have no clue how far is that sorry). They are hoping to be around episode 3 or 4 by the end of the year.

I'm pretty sure the programs you're talking about are AGTH and ATLAS. I don't know much about them but I looked over them when I was itching to playing Clannad after translation files failed.

Sekai learns she is going to transfer and her mother won't let her stay in Japan. Setsuna learns this, lies to Makoto about it, turning him against Sekai, there is a ton of heartache and then Setsuna uses Makoto's phone to call Sekai so she can hear Setsuna having sex with Makoto. Then Setsuna presumably leaves Makoto and he has a threesome with two unknown girls, having ignored a shitton of letters from Sekai.

Yup. Believe it or not, there really are endings where Itou actually ends up happily together with one of the girls. It really depends on the choices you make in the game. Of course, the bad endings are the most fun. xD

And Sekai's mentality is very frail, so she usually tends to get depressed and do nothing then try to solve her problems actively.

To summarize, it primarily stems from the absolute disaster known as Cross Days.
That made me lose any faith in Overflow.
But surely, surely they couldn't ruin School Days, that awesome game.
Yeah, well, they called it a remake despite only adding one new ED, which was a BAD END, and on top of that, by the way they added the new scenario, the game sometimes went crazy with the storyline, and on top of that, they replaced the old art with the ones from that stupid Cross Days... and yet didn't change the art used in the animated scenes. That, they called a High Quality remake.

HAH! HQ remake my butt.

And yet they are going to do the same with Summer Days. Oh geez, just make a new game already and stop leeching off of SD's popularity, whatever is left of it.

It appears this is an ending where sekai disposes of her rival kotonoha but why is the game also showing makoto with a suspicious face?(hair covering eyes face). Was makoto sekai's partner in crime or was makoto worried about kotonoha? whatever drove makoto to dirty his hands even more than it already has?

There really isn't much of a logical answer.
That's because the end is not meant to be "peaceful" or "happy", but actually "disturbing". That's the general atmosphere of the entire thing.
If I remember correctly, this end came from Kotonoha going a little crazy (as usual) and decided to seduce Makoto who was in a relationship with Sekai and all three decided that it is better to stay with each other in this screwed up relationship than not being in one at all.

That isn't School Days LQ, that's School Days for the PS2.

Makoto doesn't seem to know anything about Sekai killing Kotonoha.
Also, just saying, but he never really dirtied his hands in criminal activity, ever. Though I think he accidentally pushed Sekai onto the train track in one of the PS2 End once.

The only fan translation halted and nothing really happens on official transaltion project. Therefore we decided to do bilingual version of the game. The only thing we need is your help. Because we are Russians and most of us have pretty limited englush proficency, maybe it's enoth to post in the forums but still far from making sucessfull translation project.
