To date the only music video of this series that has impressed me much. It's also one of the more original and creative AMV's out there aside from Rockman guy there, let alone for this series (Most of them are just Linkin Park or Hare Hare Yukai regardless of whether they fit or not).

I'm supposing this is in reference to Taniguchi's voice actor desiring to invade the main show. Unfortunately he missed by about the theme song so he loses.
Two other things, now we have a song that isn't from Haruhi played over the opening. I'm confused.
And WanderingKnight, don't you love how a custom song always give you these psycho steps to dance without fitting it in with the dance. Those girls have it easy by comparison

There was a music video that was on youtbe that I found, it was from Lucky Channel, but it seems youtube deleted it in a few minutes I saw it. It was great!!! It focused on all the girls and varrious images from the game and manga. The thing I most liked about the video is that it focused on Konata and a well balance air time among the other 3 girls. The music is Bokurano's OP, which is a very nice song but... it feels as though the person just randomly stringed several scenes together without giving a thought to apply a theme or even try to apply the scenes to the lyrics in the song.
Bokurano (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=7213) is a rather bleak and gloomy psychological anime. If he had satire the OP with ironical scenes from Lucky Star, it might have been a winner, but alas... wasted potential.

Actually, I loved that Bokurano parody. Sure I'm a bit biased as I think Uninstall is the best OP for the season, but if you look closely Skane, they followed closely the original OP. That is...
Uninstall - Logo for both
Ano toki.. - Landscape of the city, though to be fair we don't see Konatas back but...
Bokura no... - We get a close up of the robot, but now we have a closeup of Konata looking at the raining landscape from the previous scene (ano toki...)
Mimi wo Fusaidemo... - People walking
Hosoi karada... - Close ups of the main characters
Unintall Uninstall - Robot shooting missiles, LS having VF match
Kono Hoshi... - Original has someone running, but we have Miyuki walking. Would've been better IMO if they chose the scene that had Kona running
Inochi no... - A girl opening a van door, Kagami opening a classroom door
Hitotsu da to.. - Original has person walking and looking over his shoulder, switch to another person looking back, then a girl watching the rain. LS has Akari closing the door, Miyuki looking back after turining the light off, then three of them walking. Admittedly a poor transition.
Uninstall - Girl walking through a road(??), girls walking through a train entrance
Osore wo Shiranai.. - Another bad transition. Its just the three girls in the train, when the original has two peoples backs to the screen (though to be fair, they're probably talking as well)
Senshi no.. till end - Original has more close ups of the other main characters. LS has more closeups of the gang.
Admittedly, the bad transitions are just due to the lack of LS screens to match the original, which is obvious since its after 'Inochi no..' that the creator was having problems. It should'nt be a problem once the series is over, assuming the creator is willing to make a version2.
That said, it still gave the feeling of the original OP. That sure, there's some action involved, but most of it was just the main characters doing every day stuff. I mean, whoever sees Bokurano's OP would never think its a psychological drama/thriller. XD

A lot of people seem to do these polar opposite things now that I think of it actually. This one Hokuto No Ken video with Hare Hare Yukai played over it, did not work. Maybe some people think they can plug square pegs into circular holes, I'm not sure. I think the song here matches the flow of the scenes for the first 30 or so seconds and then the footage just can't fit anymore. Not that the depressing theme of Bokurano's opening fits the theme of Lucky Star from the get go. I think if one were to watch that for the first time without ever knowing the true opening to either show they would know something is amiss. I think the person who did it deserves an E for effort. At least he didn't just try to overlap the song with the dancing opening like some others, he actually compiled some clips and I've tried this and it takes a lot of time.

The Rockman AMV was a straight out parody using elements FROM Rockman, set to the Midi-beat of LS' OP.
He did not use the original score, but retained the spirit of Rockman by using a Midi-theme; and he succeeded in faithfully recapturing the elements of the LS' OP in his AMV, something that this Bokurano AMV failed to do (in terms of recapturing the elements of Bokurano).
If one has watched both OPs, then that one can immediately associate the Rockman AMV with LS with ease. The mood is there. If one then watches the Bokurano AMV, it will fall flat, because there is nothing Bokurano-ish about it (aside from the song), NOR LS-ish (in terms of mood/essence). It FAILS on both accounts.
To use back your line, sometimes a failure is just that. A failure.
It has nothing to do about finding a deeper meaning. If I wanted "deep" AMVs, I wouldn't be watching parody AMVs for it. :heh: AnimeMusicVideos has a very nice selection of "deep", or rather, "serious-themed" AMVs.

That's cause the Code Geass was almost flawlessly rendered to look like an H-Game opening with the sliding cardboard cut out like CG's and pastel colours. That one actually looked like it had to be a team effort.

This one didn't quite work for me. I think it's that the engine for Battlefield 2 is too jerky and thus the fluid dancing is kind of lost in the aiming of an assault rifle up and down and all around.

The now 40 years old ex-idoru Sayuri-chan has now become a divorced actress-comedian famous for her grumpiness. She's a LonHatsu regular who talk shit about everything but mostly about men. She's actually a classic Tsundere now - sharp tongue but a soft heart. A while back London Hearts gave her a fabulous 40th birthday gift: a surprise concert where she gets to perform "Valentine Kiss" one more time in front of hundreds of fans in her original outfit (they even custom made one for her "current" size). She wasn't told about it until minutes before she show start though. It was pretty awesome to see her looking like a 17-years old again and everyone including us got a bit emotional. I'll tell you Japanese TV has some really good stuff, even outside of Anime.

I heard many of the animators in KyoAni are women, and women is the biggest audience for London Hearts. Why knows, maybe Sayuri fan at KyoAni asked to put this song in.

Hearing this it appears Konata did a pretty decent job. I have not seen this show, all I know that it was created by one of the most famous manga-ka ever, Ishinomori Shotarou, who drew Cyborg 009 and also created the grand daddy of all tokusatsu shows, Kamen Rider. Kyodain is one of the many tokusatsu show Ishinomori created, including Akumaizer 3. I thought Akumaizer was more popular than Kyodain but I guess KyoAni guys think otherwise... maybe they're just showing off their tokusatsu otaku power.

Nah Japanese has-beens aren't as extreme as American ones. Most of the idorus just get married and stay home for the rest of their lives. Some ex-idoru get divorced and has to live as a talento (usually talent-less people who appears on shows to make dumb comments) and some even become comedians just to make a living. LonHatsu has a bunch of these poor women who became famous for their marital failures and now bitches professionally on TV. But most of them would find a rich hubby and start having kids. I mean the most famous idol ever lived in Japan is probably Yamaguchi Momoe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Momoe_Yamaguchi), and she retired to be married at the peak of her career. People miss her even today.
I think Akira is more than a parody of idol industry in Japan.. it's actually closer to the truth. Just imagine a girl growing up under the watchful eyes of millions of perverts who memorize their yearly bust sizes while never really having any money and personal life (a boyfriend means yer out of the group!), I think it's not hard seeing them becoming a chain-smoking, doped-up bi-polar.
I'm an Akira fan since she's telling it like it is. I'm so glad my sister decided against an idol life when she's young. Can't imagine what kind of mess she'd be in now (although I really wish she'd do it at the time, just think about the girls I'd get to know.. sigh, oh well.)

I don't know how any of this has to do with anime (I've never watched the show), but I guess it's appropriate since anime is one of the most successful Japanese export industry that's fueled purely by creativity of the Japanese. Also Miyuki loved trivial knowledge and this show must be one of her favorites. And the goddess singer's name is Miyuki. I'm pretty this ED threw all otaku's for a loop. Great job KyoAni.

I can't believe there's youtube video for this oldie, but from the added date I'd say its probably Lucky Star related. This is the OP to a very famous satire movie about a high school girl inheriting her dad's yakuza gang. The 70's was filled with Japanese Yakuza films and TV shows, and this movie is a well executed parody of the genre. 2 TV series has been made from it, one as late as last year. When Kotana said she prefer the movie version, she was talking about the original 1981 movie, not the 1982/2006 doramas. When the girls talked about how they've watched the dorama together, they were most likely referring the 2006 version (http://www.crunchyroll.com/showseries?id=2665), which I'm currently watching as well. No 17-yrs old girl would prefer the movie over the dorama, thus Kagami calling Konata an Oyaji.
I didn't watch the original movie.... but the theme song everyone knew. Plus I did have a minor crush on the star of movie and the OP singer, Yakushimaru Hiroko. She was one of the more famous idol of the 80's, and her image was also clean and impeccable. She didn't have that many hits but her dorama and movies were very popular. I was both happy and sad when she retired to be married in 1991, but since she married one of my favorite singer/song writer, Tamaki Koji of Anzen Chitai (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anzen_Chitai), I didn't feel that bad about it. But of course they divorced and she was semi-active until last year, in which she became a respected character actor. One of the better end for an divorced ex-idoru, I guess.
I'm pretty sure most of the dudes in charge in KyoAni are my age... we're all into the same 80's idols! I guess KyoAni's making 80's cool again... I miss those good ole days. Why is Kagami singing this song? Maybe there are other anime references but those who remembered her Hiro-chan wasn't a cutesy idoru, but rather a straight up, serious type; not overtly mean but her attitude made Hiro-chan a prototype of the Tsundere'ko. Kagami singing her song is rather appropriate.

Ah, yes, my bad; post fixed. I remember now Tsukasa said that One-chan is the better singer of the two. I guess I was just shocked at the song choice... I can't believe it when it heard it... it was something I was so familar with; I was a big fan of Tomo-chan up until Komuro dumped her (and she became a basket-case). I mean, from an otaku POV this is the last song I was expecting. OPs from anime and obscure sentai shows? Fine. Oldies from JPOP idols of the 70's and 80's? No problem. But one of the most popular song in the mid-90's? I did not see that coming.
I can just see the director asks the staff what's the most unlikely song they'd expect to hear the girls sing, and the 30 plus female animators at KyoAni suggested the most anti-otaku song they can think of - the OL Anthem of the 1990's by a Komuro Family member. You just can't get more mainstream then that. Man, now Miyuki can start belting out Ayumi's "Blue Bird" and I wont' be so surprised anymore; althought I kinda see her singing a guy song next... not sure why. This is the highest selling single by the enigmatic band ZARD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zard). It was supposed to be a group, but the only member people care about or really know anything about was Sakai Isumi, the lead singer. As a child of 80's and 90's, ZARD was also part of my life. I loved her music even though she was related to the JPOP slut queen, Matsuda Seiko (they're supposedly cousins) and a former swimsuit model (she was HOT!!!) I loved the fact she wrote almost all ZARD's lyrics and her songs are always up beat and positive. I almost cried when I heard the news. :upset: I'm sure the guys and gals at KyoAni, most likely ZARD fans like myself, feels the same when they heard the news. She's the one on the right when they first appears. Obviously she's not Leader of the group. Her first solo is at 2:20. She's the one in the middle at 1:52. Her face at 1:39. In the middle at 1:16, which continue to her solo. Probably the in the middle in the last shot.
I must say, Aya is the best singer in Springs no doubt. Although all 3 of them are plain looking, Aya looked most, i dunno, real? Like a girl next door. the leader with the square face (I don't even bother finding out their names) has had eye lid surgery, fake contacts, and a crooked smile. Aya by herself can't make it, but with that kind of leader who can't sing, no wonder they failed. Every girl group needs at least 1 hottie; Springs had none. Speed has Imai Eriko and even Gen one Momusu has Natsumi Abe. Springs has Haruhi though... just a few years too early. :)
