Chaos' fact aside, Fate had a lacy MILF bra + pantsu set that disappears while giving her assets a jiggle when they do. I got that after watching the youtube short takes for about 300 times. :heh:

yea, thats because i just got into watching the Nanoha series just this year and was surprised that the third season was 10 years into the future...and yea i'm not that surprised that they're fully developed...

(i still need to watch this episode anyways) but sounds like episode 5 was great...alot of people had nosebleeds!:heh:

Speaking about that, it's now official, Nanoha and Fate are asexual, the producers went out of their way to show us what was under their panties without any lense flare or special effect to distract us, and there is nothing there.

Don't forget Subaru too. She just stood there in Final Fusion (I think?) pose for 1 whole unobscured second...

I think it was more of a censorship issue rather than what the producers are trying to show us. Censorship is also the reason why no nipples are ever shown on "regular" anime.

What amuses me a lot about Subaru's sequence is her expression after her clothes explode off. Like... she's so happy to shed them or something. Makes me wonder whether she ever fantasised of streaking in the streets. :heh:

Oh, and Subaru also holds the unique distinction of being the only female to not have any undergarments during her transformation sequence (everything explodes off in one shot). Kinda fits her tomboy character actually. :heh:

After watching through B part for several more times, I noticed that...

Dr. Spagetti's monitors show all the members of RF6 Forwards, except Teana.

Perhaps he's not interested in Teana for she's rather ordinary among RF6...
Ironically for Tia though, that everyone else in RF6 is either extremely talented or has some background within them.
(Even Subaru seems to have exceedingly great deal of magic power pool, according to Tia in Comic)

Well, then again it's often this kind of ordinary, yet effortful kind of person that defeats such a villain by outwitting him, so I'm looking forward for more of her action. ;)

There might be a simpler explaination for that. All of the other members had pulled of rather impressive moves outside the train. Where the images come from.

All Teana did was fire two shots. And most of her actions seem to be inside the train.

Also, notice that Rein isn't there as well? ;) If the reason was interest, then I don't think a scientist like him would let up a chance to study her.

On a reverse side, I'm kinda worried about her being cought by jealousy and gonna explode some day.
Even more is that latest Megami Magazine foreshadowed such event, as I hear...
(Not buying magazine myself, I don't have real clue at this point :upset: )

I wonder if it's sad that I'm going to have to echo Caro's question. I've never heard of this "thunder run", although judging from context, it's probably something NSFW.

In any case, I'm wondering how common Devices are in the Nanoha-verse. Teana builds her own Cartridge Device at age... thirteen or so? And Subaru also has those (unnamed) rollerblades when she joined. Revolver Knuckle is, as far as I can tell, something like a family heirloom, and I don't know how Subaru was carrying it around prior to episode 4, but after she gets Mach Calibre, Revolver Knuckle gets bundled in with that pendant-gem. Basically, two Devices in one handy container.

What I'm wondering are the exact mechanics in how it all works, and if Devices can all be configured like this (say, have Strada and Bardiche in one "container" when on standby). Or if I'm thinking about this too hard.

Come to think of it, where did Raising Heart and Bardiche really come from? How well have they been documented and researched?

Raging Heart was acquired by the Scrya Clan during an archelogical dig, her background before that is unknown.

Bardiche was purchased by Precia 'at great cost' for Fate.

Amusing observation:
If Mach Caliber, Cross Mirage, Strada and Kerykeion were all, partially, designed by Raging Heart and Bardiche.. does that qualify them as their children? :D

The hardest part for a human to code would almost certainly be the AI...

The housing is probably the same, but only the barest elements of an AI was installed. The 'upgrade' was likely the addition of his core reasoning functions (the same with Kerykeion).

Another possibility is that Strada is the same and previously had some form of limiter on ALL his functions until they were sure Elio would't chop his leg off by accident.

my bad, i missed Rein explanation in Ep 4 : yeah right, it appears that Strada and Kerykeion have been redesigned, so Erio and Caro can use them with full potential, since they are now accustomed with their device.

but i was really wondering about the AI (the fact they could speak before made me think they had at least an impleted AI, even though they were limited devices). *scratches his head* Strada language change still make me wonder why it has been modified (Signum influence? :heh: no complain, Strada german sounds a lot like Laevateinn : sexy ^^)

i guess there is no background for them, and we can assume they were provided by TSAB?

1. Thunder run = Running naked on roof tops :naughty:

2. Availability of Devices = I'd say rarer than guns in than US, but more common than knives. This is because IDs are rarer than the standard kind, and after that we still have to notice that the TSAB is made mostly out of mages using standard masspro "Zaku"-equivalent devices.

3. 2 for 1: Well if you view spells, barrier jackets and devices to be stored as data, then the idea of compression should explain it. Also, Subaru's device sets are stored in a big gemstone, which allows for 3-dimensional intergrated circuits and those can hold more data than a flat device and possibly more space than RH's jewel form.

4. Can it be replicated? Possibly. It's up to the author really. I play with the idea that a really good techie can have a deck of 60 Storage Devices, each farely simple but geared towards a certain task, after seeing SU4 being sealed into a thin card.

I can't really comment on this until I've seen and understood the epi, but I'll get back to you once I get it down pat. I always need to sort little bits of tech and stuff just to write well, so rest assured I'll get it done.

But for a working theory: Sonic Move was a copied MC spell, and since Strada's an NV device, together with my belief that its MC-emulated Velka and hence akin to a Mac running Bootcamp, it would be logical that Strada can run both spells. However there should be some difference in power because the MC emulation would eat up some of the available resources for "running" the spell "program".

The TSAB uses devices because it's designed around the mages, and they have great resources so there's no reason not to equip the mages with the best equipment. Since using a device improves what a mage can do, they assign devices to all of the TSAB mages.

Now, since the TSAB trains mages, we have to presume that training would include the theory of how devices are made and work, along with practical courses in making them since they need people who can build and maintain them. They never stated when Subaru and Teana made their devices, but I'll go out on a limb and say it would have to have been during the year between when they signed up and when Issue 4 of the manga happened. The reason I say that is, since magical devices are shown as being the best weapons, I'd have to assume they regulate access to the parts to build them at least, just like we do with firearms.

The left & right hand Revolver Knuckles, as stated in the StrikerS manga, were originally the devices used by Subaru's mother, a TSAB combat mage. She died, and since both her daughters chose to apply to the TSAB as mages, their father allowed them to each inherit one as their device. Which helps explain why Subaru chose to make her roller blades: she already had a device to use for attack and defense, so why not try to improve her mobility?

No official technobabble on magical theory and mechanics - MGLN hasn't reached the level of Star Trek in that respect. :) Since the storage function had to be programmed in advance, I'd say they'd only try that if they specifically wanted to trick someone. ("Ok, I'm unarmed. See, no device." LATER "NOW!" "WHAT!? SHE had your device all along!? CURSES!")

Since the TSAB has been maintaining and modifying (when needed) them for over 10 years, I would assume they've been pretty well researched.

Humm... i see, so the "language" setting is much more dependant of the Device System Type (and in this extent, the Spells), instead of the crafter/user personnal setting, correct? (thus German for Velka-type devices/spells, English for Mild-Childa Type devices/spells)

that makes the whole deal pretty much clear. (and before i get completely owned by a dumb misunderstanding, NV = Neo/New Velka ?)

Or it also be the way that New Belka is structured using a mid magic set up as a basic framework, since old Belka system is very rare and considered almost lost. so sonic move could be more compatible in adapt to a Belka style. or Sonic move can even be set up with Belka configurations, which is not unheard of considering the Subaru's DB (through it unclear if thats a copied move or an orginal with name DB).

I personally just link the language used to magic type for Nanoha, and not go much further then that, since it gives me a headache.

In any case, something I've noticed: The fight in this episode is roughly equivilent to the one in the opening. We see the new mages fight the 1st model and big model Gadget Drones on the ground, while we see Nanoha and Fate take care of the flight-model Gadget Drones in the air. I wonder if that means we're going to see more of it in the future…

Well, sorry for the off-topicness on my part. It just feels fun to be cranky once in a while, especially when others want to be too.

The issue right now with Modern Velka against Ancient Velka is we don't know how much exactly the emulated version is in sync with the the original. We can probably assume that the users of the ancient are far superior considering how they're highly valued, but we haven't exactly seen much of Hayate and the rest of the A.V mages.

Though, by emulative Modern Velka standards, I think it shows that while it demonstrates effects similar to Velka, it is at core a Midchildan magic that is just fine-tuned to act like a Velkan one, so it shouldn't be improbable for an A.I to alternatively match the execution of a spell to coordinate from Midchildan-based to Modern Velka-based depending on the requirement of the user.

The drones also show a minor showing of lousy A.I... unless I.D's are so powerful that AAA-rank AMFs allow B-rank mages, even ones specialized to fight them, beat them down like ants. Elio had a tough fight, but that was a special version, as opposed to the small ones who were SUPPOSED to be getting harder to beat...Hmm...

Well given the current state of the rookies it is petty hard for them to deal with high speed targets in air, baring the use of Bahamut, so I'm assuming Aces will deal with air forces until Rookies starts flying then we will move the Aces to nuking dept instead. :heh:

Besides, I think Subaru might stand a chance if she uses Wing Road the right way. Caro+Erio might be able to do something too.

It's just the charging of the attack for some reason or other sceams Mega Flare to me... Then again I have been playing FFVII lately....

Subaru's Wing Road is all very well against a no moving enermy floating in the air, but not against the a target moving at high speed, besides I wonder on the MP consumpution on that thing... Erio and Caro may able to do something, then again the the effectiveness is lessened to the the fact they are currently still groundbound... The use of Aces to clear the skys is an efficent use of resources in should think...

and my Nanoha is active tonight....

Yes that's what I thought, after taking both Sonic Move and Divine Buster together.

From what I'm taught, an M16 isn't very well adapted for urban close quarters combat, and a GPMG's completely out of the question, and so the M4 Carbine was born to fulfill that role. I suppose this can be applied to the reason for the existence of the Neo-Velka (NV) system, which was borne of need (there is a lot of urban combat in a built-up world like Mid-childa) but made using the most cost-effective system available. As much as it would yield better long term results from additional effort made to "rediscover" Ancient Velka (AV), this is assuming that the anime rule of original = uber holds true, it is just too expensive, and the TSAB would lose some of their teeth when the fight goes to right in front of them while they were researching.

That doesn't mean that they have stopped researching AV. If there's the will, and the resources, I'm sure AV would return someday. In the meantime, the dual purpose NV holds sway, and probably well into the future too.

Using the Mac-PC analogy again, I suppose some spells have a Velka-edition, and like Microsoft programs running on Macs, their names don't necessarily change.

The issue right now with Modern Velka against Ancient Velka is we don't know how much exactly the emulated version is in sync with the the original. Though, by emulative Modern Velka standards, I think it shows that while it demonstrates effects similar to Velka, it is at core a Midchildan magic that is just fine-tuned to act like a Velkan one, so it shouldn't be improbable for an A.I to alternatively match the execution of a spell to coordinate from Midchildan-based to Modern Velka-based depending on the requirement of the user.

Subaru's Wing Road is all very well against a no moving enermy floating in the air, but not against the a target moving at high speed, besides I wonder on the MP consumpution on that thing... Erio and Caro may able to do something, then again the the effectiveness is lessened to the the fact they are currently still groundbound... The use of Aces to clear the skys is an efficent use of resources in should think...I'm also wondering if Wing Road is destroyable (since it has a physical manifestation, I bet the enemies can shoot on it), not to mention that Subaru is kinda forced to keep moving.

Maybe Teana would specialize herself as the Anti Air Unit of the rookies team?

Actually, IF I recall it correctly, when Nanoha did the transformation in A's, there's a pink sphere around her, which completely hided everything, so I guess others girls are the same.

Assuming that both are creation of the project in one way or another, Erio might have talent for MC magic just like Fate does.

b) MV and MC magics gets along very well, because of shared basic principle.I think this is more like it, considering there's another example of hybrid in RF6.
Subaru's now equiped with both MV-natured Armed Device and MC-native Intelligent Device at the same time, and Mach-Calibur even assimilated the knucle despite being MC device itself.

Furthermore rookies' devices are custom made to fit their style, so it's not suprising Strada was designed to perform both MC/MV if MC/MV affinity is present.

Yes, it is. The AMF cut off the end of it in episode 3, and in the two previous series we've seen people break the bind that was holding them. It stands to reason then that it's strong enough to support Subaru's weight but she isn't expending the amount of magical energy needed to make it as solid as, say, a defensive shield (so her power can be spent making the Road longer).

Another question that i got confused after re watching Ep05 again.Why do Fried's Blaze Ray was ineffective on that huge drone?

Just wondering if the reason is AMF because it was cast outside the field with considerable range and can be considered more nature based (flame/heat) physical attack similar to thunder fall/frier fessel (not affected by amf)... rock thrower stardust fall doesn't count :heh:
Go back to that scene and pause as the fireball hits the Drone. Notice that it had its AMF activated (a whitish spherical field). The appendages that were OUTSIDE the AMF got fried by the fireball, but the main body of the Drone was unaffected.

Yeah i know that, i did repeat that scene a bunch of time to check .What am trying to say was, it should go through the AMF and fried the drone's main body too isn't? Since it is basically heat physical attack(not pure magic) that should be unaffected by AMF.I thought this is mentioned somewhere in the manga, might remember it wrongly though.

It is not stated that Freidrich's breath attack is always "non-magical" in nature. There may be variations or circumstances. As it is, going by Ep03 and Ep05, Freidrich seems to be capable of casting different types of "fireballs".

Additionally, the one he casted in Ep05 was a boosted version by Caro. So maybe the AMF nullified the boost, and the base fireball was not enough to damage it.

Remember, Fate "adopted" Erio, so him being close to Fate wouldn't be very surprising, no ? :)

And i wouldn't be surprised if Fate gave him some training as well. Might be the reason why he seems more "advanced" than the rest of the gang.

Since they can already control the size, I don't see why not. After all, while fields are usually used in dome shaped areas, it's possible to create forms too. Signums Panzer Geist is a field effect too, if I recall correctly, and it shapes itself to maximize movement with the least loss in defence.

There isn't really a reason to give the basic "gadgets" control over where the field starts and stops. The average TSAB operative probably wouldn't have access to all the tricks that the protagonists do. If the current antagonist is more interested in gathering data than the retrieval of the Relics, than it would make even more sense to avoid such defensive prowess. We can only be certain of what we sense in terms of nouns. Any additional factors become more like adjectives, which are not as objective.

We also don't know all of what the AMF field does. It doesn't render spells impossible to use, just much harder. This could involve adding an extra burden to the amount of energy required to produce the "spell". If we also assume that the floating mechanisms involve magical energy, it could cause the machine to fall. It could also reduce the effectiveness of the Relics.

I suppose it really comes down to whether or not the "gadgets" are combat oriented or retrieval oriented. Also, if the "gadgets" are as old as I think they are suggested it is possible that the knowledge of how to modify the system could be lost. Production could continue, but the actual knowledge behind the design is lost.

Edit: Alright, I realize that only about half of that makes any sense in context.

In any case, it would seem that the discussions about the drones and the different magic types have been pretty much thoroughly discussed. Judging from the posts, (I haven't watched the episode yet.) the drones we are currently given does not seem to be much of a problem for the meanwhile. What I would like to see is if/when the ones behind the attacks could crank out some drones that could be possibly extremely difficult to deal with even for experts. I agree that the drones hardly qualifies as substitutes for enemy mages, but I'm also curious if we would be getting a monstrous anti-mage machine.

Riot Force 6 may have the best of the best members, but S-class grunts are hardly a laughing matter aren't they? I won't mind the characters getting into a serious pinch as long as they are eventually able to come out relatively safe. Besides,swarming our heroines(mostly:heh:) and (a few:heh:)heroes with more than they can handle is a good setup for an impressive save from anyone capable (assuming the Aces are occupied, or maybe even in their own pinch), most desirably (in my view, anyway) from Carym, Chrono, Acous or even Graham. I've already imagined an Eternal Coffin entrance against an army of drones scenario. I may be straying from my topic a bit but I'm not sure if even upgraded AMF's could defend well against such a powerful freezing technique.

Effects that affect elements or objects will get through an AMF, as long as they are cast outside the AMF's radius. For example, Fate's thunder attacks will fry drones, as the lightning -once created- will be ordinary llightning.

So yes, Chrono's freezing atacks will get through, as long as he casts them outside the barrier.

As much as we've seen AMF in field, BJ always remained intact.
If there's something in BJ that stops AMF from nullifing it, then there's no reason Drone could internalise similer technique to use as the last-line defence, knowing that BJ is just a complex combination of barriers and fields.

Or that something simply could have been "censorship"... :p

Yeah but that's like one so far in both season and from what i can remember the blood is not even clearly shown...

Expecting it to be slightly more in other battle since Nanoha is kinda unique, not the usual "mahou shojo" .For example when Nanoha crashed into building (vita's battle) all she got was dust and little bruise all over no cut or whatsoever.

Am just thinking too far but if there is ever scene where Nanoha has relapse and get stabbed/shot, they would look much more serious with blood not only teared clothes X_x....Also hoping for something like Yuuno :D get seriously wounded in bloody scene and Nanoha went nuts,i read too much shounen manga lately :heh:

What if Lutecia is like a clone of them? That would explain why she has Fate's trademark look from Season 1 in the opening, and the summon circle too (Caro's DNA/Data?)

...Or she's a summoned being as suggested on another thread. :heh:

In my opinion when i look at the style/design of the jacket. It goes
Teana/Subaru=Nanoha's (same color and pattern)
Erio=Fate's (Long cape,similar uniform design, just different color)
Caro=Hayate's (colorful, similar to Vita's)
Although Rein did say it was designed by the captains.Does that include Signum and Vita? Since taichou-san can refer to em also

RH said aggressive mode and on the crystal also written the same thing, might sound like aggressor because of the background sound,use headphone and max the volume :heh: and it will be clearer

True. It's always hard to get rid of stereotyped views in people. And it is also very usual for young boys to play the hero. But don't worry. Even if Erio gets the short end of the stick in the getting beaten up scenarios, the payoffs are quite good. Considering most of the people around him.:naughty:

Okay, in a more serious and non-serious note (( how serios is discussing Elio's pimpage anyway? )), I'd think the ones who would work in the interactions at least is Fate (( not-THAT-way )), Subaru and MOM-, I mean Caro.

Naturally, there should be some sister-brother-mother-daughter-uncle-niece dynamic with Fate and Caro and Elio. That on it's own puts Fate and Caro in line with Elio. Good, but I don't think we can expect any fluff like Episode 5.

Fate-Elio...well, that depends on Project F, and how emo Elio may get, along with how much Fate has accepted her past and is willing to let go. Granted, she's MOVED ON in A's, but we know how mad scientist can get into people's skin.

Elio-Caro...Look at Episode 5 for example of under-aged fluff I'm sure we'll be seeing again. Friedich seems to be GJ-ing Elio too.

Elio-Subaru...I dunno, I kinda like their combo. They seem to be the 2-strike-team when the 4 members are actually concentrated, so maybe we can see some interaction.

The only amusing thoughts going through my head is Carol's memories of Erio, and how she chose a bad time to have flashback when Erio was getting his handed to him :heh:

Which is the opposite of last week, when I expected nothing much from it, but ended up partying over on the whole limiter and "key" thing :D (From one sentence the Rein said! JUST ONE sentence sparked the ... Chaos)

Of COURSE they're more likely. I discovered that when I saw Nanoha and Fate's Emperor-sized bed. Then again, I'll admit that scale makes sense if you're going to be sleeping with a girl whose concept of affection seems to involve lacerations and long hospital stays, since you'll want room to get away just in case.
EDIT: Hadn't seen the ep yet but just found the trans sequences on the tube.
Few things came to mind: First, of course, was the universal sound effect "boingboing":heh: Second, I thought Subaru was the one that worshipped Nanoha, so why does Tea have the exact same UNDERWEAR? Orange can't be that popular. Also, I never expected black but it suits fate. Add the black lingerie to Fate's trans sequence and what was cold, independent strength starts to get a few sm overtones... I guess it's true, like mother, like daughter.

I finally got to watch episode 5 raw, and ... WOW!! Seriously, this episode surprised me. While I was expecting a good action episode, I didnt think it'd be THIS good.

First Subaru surprised me... damn she kicked ass. I'm starting to like those roller blades, especially now that they speak!

Teana sure got the shaft this episode. We barely got to see her. :(

But the ones who stole the show... the Chibikkos! Erio and Caro are officially my favorites of the new characters. Well, my nick probably already hinted that. :D

Overall a very good episode. Not only did we get some much needed transformation scenes (Dang, Nanoha is way hot :naughty: lol), but the action was great too, and we got some hints of what's to come.

Personally, I dont know if I like this Project F stuff. I would hate to see Erio all traumatized, but at least that means Caro gets to save him. ;)

well i've seen the transformations of the six mages in episode 5 from youtube....and i gotta say WOW!!:)

its good to hear Baldiche and Raging Heart talk again...i miss their voices:(, now that they have been reduced to being minor characters....but i like their new barrier jacket names...Baldiche: "Barrier Jacket Impulse" and Raging Heart: "Barrier Jacket Agressor mode"...cool names for just barrier jackets:)
and Fate, shooting up into the sky like a fighter jet....so cool!!
and Axel Fin for Nanoha's wings on her shoes....
man they changed alot on their magical arsenal!

and i really did like the remixed song they did on Fate's Transformation sequence...felt really nostalgic!
and so did Nanoha's Transformation sequence also...that was the same transformation song they played when she first received and transformed into her mage form....it was so nostalgic!!!:)

and Subaru's and Teana's Transformations were also cool...Teana had that spinning card going on and i liked the way how it changed into her Cross Mirage guns!
Elio had a techno type of song going on in his transformation sequence and Caro's sequence was also cool...

Well, I just watched the subbed episode. Here are some of my weekly comments:

- So Caro's a special child among her people huh. But even so, the treatment on her was quite harsh. And that stigmata part seems foreboding.
- The henshin sequence were a bliss to watch in good quality. I don't think I need to say more since it's been discussed about quite a lot already.
- Nanoha and Fate were extremely skillful. Man, I'd hate to see anyone trying to fight them off when their limiters are released.:uhoh:
- Looks like Subaru and Mach Caliber will go with the stereotypical, "Your not just a tool!" business. I'm not complaining though.:D
- Mach Caliber = Donna Burke?
- Now Teana and Cross Mirage's conversation was nicely friendly but professional at the same time. Though Teana seems to prefer to go the Chrono route and learn to be self-sufficient in casting spells. Hmm. Maybe she and Chrono would get along quite well. in any case, I wasn't expecting the single-double modes. Perhaps she could do with a 'Gun Slave' mode and do in opponents with flying gun units.
- Cross Mirage = Kevin J. England?
- Gadget type-3 was quite a nuisance. Even emitting AMF waves for around ten meters or so.
- Erio get's his ass handed to him, gets saved and cuddled by a cute girl (and waking up at chest level, no less), then comes back to lay a good smackdown ala-Zamber style. Man, that boy gets the entire package. Why can't ordinary people like me be that lucky?:heh: (I can't wait to see the StrikerSNanos4koma for this part. Hehehe, more Nyapa~ time from Caro.:D)

Pretty nice Episode indeed! Can't wait for next since Vita will be on it xDD

Transformation escenes were all pretty amazing. I liked Teana's best may because it was rather original. The powered up Devices were also pretty amazing, they have the same Drive Ignition thing that RH and Bardiche got in A's. Can they also change form? Sure they can.

A bit of Caro's harsh past, exiled just because she the strongest of the Dragon Summoners... That is rather stupid from my point of view.

The Type 2 Gadget was pretty strong has expected, it can expand its AMF field, four lasers and two arm like weapons but, just a little power up can defeat... What happened to the AMF that it had arround? Did it turn it off when Erio went for the second round or did Caro's Power Up protected Erio's Device? Just like when Teana used a barrier arround her shot during training...

Also, it seems that, just like Fate, Erio may be clone from the Project F or Fate Project. Either that or that project had other objetives apart from creating clones.

Correct : Caro buffed Strada with 2 effects : Enchanter Field Invalid (errr... this is engrish right? it doesn't seem to be quite natural) and Strike Power.
Obviously, the first boost works the same way as Taena tactic (which would explan why Strada extended blade was pink) : Either protecting the energy blade from the AMF, or nullifying AMF effect by another field of the same type.

My comment of the week :
Caro's Backstory is really interesting : unstable CUTE glass cannon :heh:. joke aside, i'm wondering if Friedrich has more "level up", or if caro has other pets :D
Henshin : oi oi... i felt the fanservice was really overboard (especially Nanoha XD), but well... i can't complain, especially we waited 5 episodes for them (hell no, OP tiny henshin sequences mean nothing :heh:)
Erio just ROCKS (Henshin + bravery + Style).
Fate using her mother figure with caro (i can easely imagine her, walking with erio and caro holding her hands, laughing happily the three of them ^^)
Teana's screetime is... utterly short T_T
Caro + Erio is just the best part of the episode IMO. the chibi lightning team won't be pampered by Subaru and Teana, which is great news :)
Strada is Laevateinn MKII, seriously oO (Zanber like attack? wait, is it really a spear? considering the extended blade, it could be used as a bad ass sword XD)Solid 9 for this episode. just a bit disappointed they are back to training... (but considering the preview, vita will be back, huhu :3 )

Well i finaly got to watch this episode and haven't been able to read all ofve this post so i might post about soemthign that was already mentioned discussed.

And the first and major point I wanna talk about is Caro. After her words in the helicopter that she decided her path. After her parents banashied her away at the age ofve 6 for mastering the summoning of the silver and black dragons. After that guy advising Fate not to take her tha the only use she could be is only to send on a mision were the objective would be only to slauter everyone there. It is my belif that that long pink haired girl with the summuning circle in the intro is Caro. Only he fullpower has awaken and/or she just totaly lost control over it. If she did lose control, my only current expectation for that would be something happen to Erio that was realy bad.

Wich then one could speculate that the person from project F that the mad scientis will manage to capture will be Erio. Obvious reson is that getting Fate would be pure suicide.

Plus, also now I am greatly questioning my self on Caro's power rathing wich is C. As far as i can understand a C rating is prety low in the ladder. So why would a sweet kid, with a ratign of C be banashied from her home at the age ofve 6 claiming she was to powerfll and dangerous. The only thing i can think ofve explaining it is that her summons have their own power rating. She might only be C but her Dragon on the other hand might be AAA. Wich might also be the cause behind the statement that she couldn't control her dragons who would simply rampage around protecting her. And that because of that she could only be used in a senario were the objective was to slauter everyone.

Basicly all in all she sounds like a time bomb to me. Kinda like the book of the night sky. Or as some might knwo it better as the book ofve darkness.

Okay, so we know relatively little about the pink-haired mysterious girl in the intro – namely, that her name is "Lutecia" and that the magical sign under her is one we haven't seen before (square rather than Midchildan circle or Belkan triangle) – but I thought of something. From what we've seen of the sinister undercurrent thus far, it seems that she may very well be connected to "Project F," which in turn may be the same thing as "Project Fate."

If this turns out to be the case, might it not be unreasonable to suggest that Lutecia is in fact the clone of someone else we know of, whose name ends in "-ecia"?

Her title as 'Knight' suggest that she's strong enough for combat (Though whether she's a 'support' or a 'fighter' is another thing...), And her role as leader of the Saint Church makes her a 'priest' of some sort I guess...

Pretty nice Episode indeed! Can't wait for next since Vita will be on it xDD

Transformation escenes were all pretty amazing. I liked Teana's best may because it was rather original. The powered up Devices were also pretty amazing, they have the same Drive Ignition thing that RH and Bardiche got in A's. Can they also change form? Sure they can.

A bit of Caro's harsh past, exiled just because she the strongest of the Dragon Summoners... That is rather stupid from my point of view.

The Type 2 Gadget was pretty strong has expected, it can expand its AMF field, four lasers and two arm like weapons but, just a little power up can defeat... What happened to the AMF that it had arround? Did it turn it off when Erio went for the second round or did Caro's Power Up protected Erio's Device? Just like when Teana used a barrier arround her shot during training...

Also, it seems that, just like Fate, Erio may be clone from the Project F or Fate Project. Either that or that project had other objetives apart from creating clones.

The magic square is a summoning portal, as far as I've seen. Since the square is below Lutecia, it means that she is a summon.
i dont understand how this came about ~ why cant it just be your good o' magic sign for when you do a magic attack etc ~ i still stand by my thought that Lutecia isnt a summoned familiar unless some hard facts prove otherwise (and yes nanoha could very well have been summoned from another galaxy if i use that logic :heh:)

Well... i think it has to do with the fact that the only time we have seen a square magic sign is when Caro was doing a summoning spell (the chains). And the sign appears under the object being summoned (Under the chains). Carol herself was standing on a normal magic sign when casting the summon spell.

But i agree that the speculation Lutecia = summoned creature seems stretching it a bit. To me at least :heh:

There was alot of speculation right off the bat about Lutecia's special magic circle. Then we saw Caro use that magic circle for summoning, so the idea was that she might be a summoner. I then noticed that the summoning circle goes under the summon and not the summoner. There was still the idea that she was summoning something right were she was, kind of like what Caro did in this episode.

Finally got to see the ep in full. Wow. BTW, after seeing the Yesy fansub, I'd like to send Ryvis a couple of Takahara Iyo's "Annelida Tanzerin" as a gift(see Gargoyle). I mean no cruelty, I just feel it necessary to protect our little supergirl.
Now that it talks, Subaru's device seems a little stuffy. "I'm here to serve you, not to work with you" or something like that. Nanoha was certainly telling the truth that the power output from their devices could surprise them.
Caro just seems like a reborn Nanoha, and I could see Nanoha giving her a pep talk along the lines of "I've been strong enough to level cities with a sneeze since I was nine years old. If you lose it, I can handle it." It just goes to prove there is no force in the multiverse near as powerful as a cute loli with an animal friend. Forget looking for notable power, just find a bunch of cute little girls with cute, unusual pets, and you'll have an unstoppable force. Bonus if a girl is so oblivious that she remembers meeting her savior and never makes the connection that he had his hands on her...
Also, I don't think Erio did so bad. He and Caro were both helpless without their magic and Erio just happened to have been closer, and he certainly redeemed himself when he handed everything right back to the big gadget.
Anyway, I get the feeling that Tea and Subaru are going to be the "weaklings" of the crowd, pushing themselves up to gain massive power, and Caro's going to be a little unstable as she can't control her power even as much as Nanoha, while Erio and Fate are probably going to be attacked and/or abducted.

About "Enchanter Field Invalid", it is basically a spell to invalidate the AMF(Anti-Magic Field), which is a form of Enchantment magic; wait a tick though... that sounds suspiciously like high-ranked magic. If Variable Shot is Rank-AA, then what rank should "Enchanter Field Invalid" be?

Caro is starting to sound like one of those characters who are obscenely powerful, but pretend to be the weakest so as to draw as little attention as possible. :heh: As many, including me, have been harping in the pre-season speculation, it is always the cute little girls that are going to KICK YOUR ASS. :heh:

Fate and Nanoha are now in better control of their spells. The amount of casting time has been reduced, and in some cases, the spell has improved, such as the increased number of "bullets" from Nanoha's Axel Shooter. Mind you, they are doing this with their Limiters, so it goes to show how much better they have become as Mages.

Nerfed, my ass. If anything, Fate and Nanoha have become even stronger. As Chrono stated numerous times before, the amount of raw power is not the only factor that determines how kickass of a Mage you are, but skill and knowledge as well.

Well, the fact that Lutecia is a summon does not mean she is some kind of brainless animal. I would think of it as summoning Saber. Lutecia is probably one of Caro's village fallen heroes... And she could transform into a Black Dragon like Skane says! :p

Carol is a hot potato. Seriously. I can see now why lots of people have trouble on what to do the girl. Her ability to control a giant, flying and firebreathing superweapon is in direct purportion to her emotional state. Come to think of it, the girl was probably alright before her tribe got scared and kicked her out. Rejection does terrible things to self confidence and Carol was likely a kid without fear before that.

The TSAB weren't much better in rebuilding confidence, she probably was treated like a kid holding on to dynamite instead of showing the mature and responsible use of power. Points go to Fate as one half of the Devastator Mahou Shoujo Pair for doing this, that the potential to lay waste to entire continents doesn't nessesarily means she has to. Looking at the timeline, these 2 probably met around the time of the airport incident, stories of Fate pulling people out of the fire would have been enough of a demonstration.

Anyway, looking at ep6, it appears that Vita will be in charge of hammering the characters into shape [ow- very painful] before the success of the mission gets into their heads.

Blast it. If only I could download the N-Dgz for this week's epi I'd be able to comment on that. EFI sounds like an ECCM to AMF, and with that it appears that AMF is magic based after all, except that it works on disrupting/diffracting/absorbing normal magic flow as opposed to opposing it like a magic barrier.

Another thought: what if the Silver and Black Dragons are different sides of the same thing, aka a Light and Dark Fried? If "consciousness is blue" refers to the blue-and-white Fried, maybe there's another "consciousness" that is linked to the Black one?

I've barely seen the episode and this is already at 24 pages?! :twitch: I think I'll pass on wading through all that, and just mention how I found it a bit silly that Elio got to keep his shirt on in his transformation sequence. Then again, it could be considered silly that all the girls don't get to keep their undies on. Guess it's mandatory. :heh:

:heh: Ero shota boy strip down is a big no no in my book, Besides imaging the backlash by the legion of loli and yuri supporting Hikikomori. nooo ive always had bad experiences with the "girls in coma" routine >.< but okey lets say that she was summoned by doc freak there by my my watch he doesnt seem to have any magical powers like lets say percia...instead he could have used a relic to do the summoning and well these isnt a set rule that if the person who innitiates the summon dies that the "familiar" will disappear...but still i refuse to believe that she is a summoned creature ~

I think this was from wiki: The symbiotic link between Mage and Tsukaima can be severed by the Mage, creating a self-sustaining creature. I think this is only possible if the Mage is able to somehow carve a piece of her Linker Core to give to the Tsukaima. Possibly, if Dr Spagetti loves Lutecia enough, he might consider giving her whatever piece left of him to her, granting her self-sustainance, but makes her go crazy for it'll then be the Aces slaying the one who really cared for her, and you noe how powerful lolis react to that... :heh:

After that she has 2 possible fates:

- Go down fighting, inflicting heavy damages to the Aces in the process and goes into the afterlife smiling. The "I'll be with you soon, Otou-san..." sorta thing.

- Realizes that her Father wouldn't wish to see her die, decides to live and after seeing the Light in Nanoha's friendship joins Hayate's cosplay unit (and thus making being a villian even more hopeless in the Nanohaverse...)

Why would you target Erio when he's not playing this round of Magic? Anyway I suppose Caro wouldn't mind Donate-ing Transcendence to Erio to shield him, and possibly even Pariah herself so that all damage gets dealt to her instead. Moral of the story: I'd rather settle for an eternally nosebleeding Erio thanks to Time Stop's effect freezing Tendrils in place. :D

That could mean that when Precia was playing god, she could have had in her possession a Relic, that would explain the disaster she caused with her experiment (and how Alicia died)

-I would have laughed if they would have given Elio a similar transformation to his teammates.

-Elio's barrier jacket would look cooler without the coat and if his shorts went down to his knees and were baggier.

As we were saying, I do hope we get some mage to mage battles soon. But the number of mages to battle against is rather... Meagre. The most I can see is one mage with expert command of the various drones taking on the whole team and giving them hell.

Now if only they were up against the Akatsuki... I'm sure they'll be much more successful in making off with Fate. (And hence earning everyone's ire.)

Let's look at the rational outlook of villains for now...

Dr. Orange/Scagliette/Spaghetti/Scaggy/whatever : ~ Possible, but traditionally mad scientist archetypes aren't exactly fighters until they modify themselves, and they don't do that until the dire state of affairs.

So, possible as 2nd cour villain, now? Nah.

Dr. Orange's Female Sidekick : 30%, and it's no guarantee she'll have fighting capabilities.

Lutecia/Loli-Rider = 99% Guaranteed. Well...duh. It's obvious she'll be one of the earliest to appear, judging by scans and OP. When during the first 13 episodes...well, that's another story.

Zest = Considering he seems to be aligned with Lutecia, possibly as a 2-man team, and judging by his sketch appearance early in the magazines, I'd say 90%, and someone who looks like him CANNOT be without fighting capabilities.

Yeah...only 2 plausible candidates right now...against....6 Mages...If we include possible RATIONAL backup...9 mages....In the worst case scenario...13 or 14 mages. Doesn't look very bright for them, unless they turn out to be SSS+ respectively.

And I don't think they'll be introducing Terminator/Metal Gear/Sentinel-level drones this early. Right now, B~A-class seems more than enough to wipe the floor.

Naturally, I expect some characters here and there to suffer from plot-devices as well and recover when they're not needed...for the, you know..sake of balance.

Caro goes bonkers and turns against her team.
Erio and Fate get hosed by some sort of contingency weakness due to Project F.
Carim and Acous turn out to have their own agendas and neutralises Hayate and Chrono respectively.
The Knights get their programs infected.

I can't believe you guys somehow managed to include M:tG into this to such an extent. (Not to mention Time Stop, which happens to be one of the few cards that still has some problems with the rules. …I need to stop now)

In any case, one thing I was actually looking forward to once I found out that Mach Calibur is an intelligent device is Subaru talking to her feet. I finally got that in this episode.

Off topic: I never had any problems with Time Stop, since its petty simple "End the Turn" :heh:, Besides its the only thing I can grab against that Oblitarate at the time, other the Venser.

On topic: Mach Calibur get lots of plus points with the line "I'll think about it"

Off topic: I never had any problems with Time Stop, since its petty simple "End the Turn" :heh:, Besides its the only thing I can grab against that Oblitarate at the time, other the Venser.Wizards has introduced multiplayer into its official rules a while back, and with it was the rules for the game-type "Grand Melee", which allows for multiple turns happening at once. There's still disagreement among the judges as to what should happen if Time Stop is casted in such a game. I actually managed to win something for pointing out that the rules didn't state what should happen in such a situation.On topic: Mach Calibur get lots of plus points with the line "I'll think about it"Really caught me off guard. Makes you wonder how "intelligent" the devices really are. Speaking of which, I hope we hear more of Strada and Caro's device.

Now why can mad scientists be just as good/dangerous a mage as our Aces? A formidable and cunning end-game Arch-mage would be sweet, compared to the RPG reject we had in A's.

Okay, I've been avoiding this thread for what seems like forever, but now that I've finally seen the fansub of episode 5 I just have to make a few comments:

I was thinking the last couple of episodes were kind of starting to... drag a bit, but this one turned that trend around, big time. Some of the best action scenes so far!
I've been waiting for the Nanoha and Fate's new transformation scenes, and they did not disappoint! Whoa! Plus the other four "newbies" all had great transformations, too. Now, I can't get Fate's black lace undies out of my mind. :naughty:
It was cool to see everyone's reaction to their new toys, especially Subaru's. I particularly liked how she is already forming a "Nanoha-like" bond with her intelligent device, Mach Caliber.
Caro and Erio make a great team and I suspect their relationship is going to be an important sub-plot in the series.
Whoa! That's the true form of Caro's little dragon? Cool!
I think my opinion of Erio when up about 100% in this episode. His "One hit, one kill!" is without a doubt the coolest trigger phrase yet, and his actual melee attack, even finishing off with a chiburi at the end was fantastic! Erio rawks the house! :heh:

So, this episode has definitely got me pumped back up for more MGLNS action!

Come to think of it, Precia was a researcher of Project F and also an SS (I'm not sure. Somebody please confirm) class mage. Heh, well, IF doctor Spaghetti/Orange/Scraggy/etc can actually perform well in mage battles, I'll be looking forward to him facing the Aces. (And probably forcing them to lift the limit)

Yup I feel the same too, just watched epi 5 from Yesy. I used to think he's just fast, then he just rocks Caro's world, but now its Erio just RULEZ! And a powerful girlfriend to boot! He'd better learn to not cross her fast, otherwise he'd might be at the wrong end of a My Super Ex-girlfriend, which sadly Yuuno is at risk off. Otherwise, I love him almost as much as I love Fate! :D
