I think the claymore outfits are specificly designed for women. The male counter parts would probably be designed differently. Maybe some inspiration from the roman soldier outfits.

I think it would be awesome if the original male claymores didn't have uniforms :D. Just a bunch of rag tag guys turned into super human demon battling fighting machines. They may not have even had the standardized Claymore sword back then. The swords would have to have been developed by trial and error by research and development. What makes the best youma killing instrument? Did the battle axe work better or worse than the war hammer? When you say a bigger sword, how big do you want it? Horse's aren't helping then? Skin tight clothes, are you sure? That doesn't seem like you Duff.

The organization was probably a start up company working out of someones basement before it really took off into the international conglomerate that it became in time. Their standard operations and rules had to be developed through time. I bet the symbols were started by the warriors themselves to mark their territory. That way Rigard could prove that Duff was "borrowing" his stuff.

I wonder how they did their advertising... I'm imagining an 1800's Ringling Brothers and Barnum Baily circus traveling extravaganza. That or town to town youma killing for profit.

That seems like the most likely way they'd go about it Chiba. I never thought that the men wore outfits and uniforms resembling anything like the Claymores now wear. They probably used regular sized swords until they found that the could break the swords easily on their own so they went with using claymore swords. The design has surely changed in the years since but the male generation wouldn't be caled 'Male Claymores' if they didn't use them in the first place. :heh:

Here's my first attempt at making a wallpaper and using paint.net (free photoshop basically), so go easy on me. I had two major problems while making this wallpaper. First, making the photo background go together with the original Irene pic was tough. The original photo I found had horrible lighting and a huge flash imprint on the skinny tree directly to Irene's left. Additionally, I would have rather used a drawing with mountains in the background, but I couldn't find anything good. In the end I just went with the forest. I tried to make it more ethereal to both match Irene and to better blend a real photo with a drawing. The second problems was cropping Irene's pic, especially the hair. If you guys have any tips on how I can fix this, please tell. I think I fixed the background up for the most part. Despite these problems I just had to do a wallpaper of the Irene pic which can be found on page 83ish on this thread. Well enough of my rant, tell me what you think! :D

Just noticed that it looks like all that image editing caused the pic of Irene to get a little soft. If you guys know any work arounds that'd be great.

Where was this from? What I remember from the manga is basically Hi Rigardo!-Superb-Bye Rigardo! He didn't get much time for development, or even backstory.

Doesn't mean they are good. Ive used to play FFXI where 90 percent of the server was Japanese only. Most of them either don't speak english too well or dont speak it at all. So expecting them to be able to translate them to english when they posted it on their Japanese site is stupid. There's sites like manga helpers if you really wanted to know that bad.

I didn't get that last one either. After I found the site it was originally posted to I learned that it's supposed to be a crossover with JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Apparently Deneb's lines at the end are the catch phrase of a character called Leone Abbacchio or something like that.

To answer ur questions i will lay down some facts:-
1) Set at a time even before Rafaela, hence the old armor
2) The strange symbol is dedicated to the 2 dots on Kairin's head
3) The girl in the panel as u analyzed is not Kairin. She is different. She is an original character by me. Her name is Sia
4) yes, Kairin uses a Phantom attack...rand a very good reason is there for this which will be revealed in the end
5) Coming to the story, I want to reveal the story once I am done

This doujin is mainly to work on my story presentation skills, hence, yes, the story iis original and the panel placement is by me. As for modification of the art style, no intentions to do i, because I feel Yagi-sensei's work is simply awesome.
Many panels will be inspired from the original manga since it ll help me save time, but characters are original, and so will be many other frames ^_^

I was asked to translate the 4 panel manga that go along with the data books in the omnibus edition, but I don't know whether such bonus material is considered to be licensed. I have no idea whether Viz is ever going to publish it or whether they would have to negotiate the rights first. So to stay on the safe side I'm assuming it to be considered as licensed. I think I found a way to translate them without violating the forum rules, though:

How to use:
-Scan the original page or get a scan from somewhere else.
-Open it in a picture editor/ graphics software of your choice.
-Adjust either the scan or the .png above so that they are the same size.
-Combine them, but make sure the .png is on top.

Umm, it's a family.... The dad is making tamago (eggs) and the kids are commenting. The mom says he's not cutting them properly and wasting too many. lol (that's the scene with teresa and the bandits bodies). Ophelia is supposed to be the elder brother saying that there's a new device being sold that can automatically cut eggs.

I would really love to see a fan art crossover comic of Claymore and Busou Renkin.

Would love and laugh to see Clare and Tokiko interacting with each other and bickering that they have the same hair-style; both short-tempered.

Clare would look aesthetically perfect if she has the same type of scar that Tokiko has running through her face, then having Raki commenting on her (Clare) where she did get that scar and if he can touch it.

Raki wanting to be taken as an apprentice by Kazuki, stupified by witnessing Kazuki's Busou Renkin, and gets more traumatized when Bravo decides to give him his special training.

Bravo taking Yuma as his apprentice to teach him his moves and signature styles. His Bravo gesture; the Bravo puch; all while Yuma gets traumatized.

Or even better everyone from both universes minding their own business when Pa-PI-Yon pops out and scaring the shit out of everyone or severely disturbing them, because he's either wearing another bizarre costume or plainly is wearing underpants (besides the mask) and making sexy poses outdoors.

If possible, the fanart done by the same guy who made the Yuma comics.

I wonder whether someone here could give me a few tips.
Recently I download Inkscape mostly out of curiosity what a vector graphics editor is like. Before I hadn't done any drawing on the computer beyond some doodling with MS paint and the like because the serious software I had taken a look at seemed needlessly complicated and therefore frustrating to learn and probably also to use and there always were things more fun and useful (to me) to learn than their intricities so I never bothered. But Inkscape is refreshingly intuitive and actually fun to use from the first minute. I just wanted to figure out how to draw more complex forms than simple geometric figures and ended up drawing this:

Yes, the eyes are all wrong and the nose is badly drawn. Those are just due to my very limited drawing skills. What I'd like to is if there is a better way to draw hair and the like with many similar lines, and if you can bend things without moving the knots around one by one. I'd recommend you start drawing simple stuff like this:
As it says in any tutorial, all complex things can be broken into simple geometric forms and shapes. 3d stick figures will help you get a grasp of proportion and percpective.

as for the cloth, its a little more difficult to figure out because there are different types and unlike solid objects, they dynamically change as they are being affected by kinetic force and gravity.

The main thing do understand about folds is that they are created whenever the cloth is being pulled towards a direction, in your case which is quite simple, Teresa's clavicle bones and the neck base, around which it is being wrapped.

This example is a bit grotesque but it's all I've managed in a minute.. I dunno inkscape but i think all that can be utilized easily there. Hope I helped... :) As for the hair, no I don't think it can be drawn using simple lines like that... I'm often having problems drawing hair myself, that's why I usually use different shading patterns and tones as an execuse for my lack of hair drawing skills.

I just despise the anime for making a already somewhat disliked character so hated.

He really isn't that bad in the manga, but damn, he annoyed the crap out of me in the anime, especially when they got to the filler part.

I think part of what made me dislike him more in the anime was his voice and having to actually hear him when he starts to 'whine' and the such. I personally don't have much tolerance for hearing people around me sounding and acting like that in real life , so I guess that kinda affects how I feel about Raki as well.

I mean, sure, he has annoyed me a bit in the manga, but he seems much more bearable there just because there isn't an audible voice that I have to listen to.

Oookayy.... You guys should really stop doing that. :confused: if the raki's contribution to the plot and the reasons why it was so important that he had to be EXACTLY that way are not understood still then I'll clarify.

1) Clare would've never, and i mean.. NEVER ever.. picked him up if he was any less kind hearted and naive, dumb even.. than he was.. No matter how bad she would've felt for some punk ass's parent's being killed, she would've kicked him in the nuts instead.

2)If it wasn't for her effection for Raki, she wouldn't have been given the mission in Rabona, haven't been partially awakened and most likely dying a short time afterwards.

well my no.1 in looks will always be Teresa, doll face, beatiful hair, and her body's got the perfect proportions,she's not anorexicly thin like other claymores or too muscular or rough,she's got everything, she's tall, long legs,nice butt, thin and good outlined waist, nice shaped boobs,
2.my second best is similar - Galatea, they have the same type of body, just that Teresa is 1,80 and Galatea is 1,85 tall ,
3.then there's Miria also has awesome body like the other 2, love her hair style it really suits her,but I like her with hair up even better(kinda makes her look less troubled n serious n...even younger yknow),
4.Irene also has good looks,she's the same size like Clare,but she's taller and has good outlined boobs,waist n but, and her legs are like soo longer than everybody elses (even with the elf ears,she can hide them under her hair :P)
5.Clare has also a beatiful face,her hair style suits her features, but I think she would look better if she gained a few pounds, she kinda gives off the vibe "I've been starving in the last few years n I couldn't grow much, so I ended up having kinda boysh profile", n the claymore tight grey clothes underline that she's too thin, in the brown dress in eps.3 n 4 she looked better,don't you think,like the new black uniforms, they underline your good features, n cover your bad ones
6.Flora's got this innocent expresion on her face, and that voice, it's like she's telling you a bedtime story plus she's got a nice body
7.Helen is the more sporty type, but in the good way, no needless muscules, still in good shape
8.Deneve is like the "cold beauty" type, everything in her is measured, she's pretty, nice body,not ordinary,also not a bur but you will notice her when she walks in to a crowded room, but gives off the vibe "who do you think you are, to think you have the right to look at me, huh?"
