This is a painting I made based on Claymore... the guy is actually someone that means a lot to me! and I wanted him to be in it! hope you guys like it... ah and the beast behind is his awakened form... he loves wolves lol

Overall, it's very cool;
The background and Awakened Being looks very cool; love how he seems to have armor attached to his body, must be very powerful :p, I would have made his head in a different pose, like he's looking up and growling. Would have looked more menacing like that, in my opinion.
I don't like the human form too much; you shouldn't have made him wear the standard Claymore uniform, which was made and tailored for females. He should be wearing an original uniform that's tailored more for males; here, he honestly reminds me of Rachel :p
I love it though, the Awakened form looks very cool, and the purple-ish background matches him very well.

Yeah, the uniform totally doesn't suit him, because he's a guy. Otherwise I really like the design for his awakened form. Great stuff!

i was just looking through here for my first time....
but in regards to rubel cosplay......
if anyone seen jurassic park movies (1, and 2 called Lost World instead), and remembers the hunter guy in it.
he'd be perfect as rubel. almost nearly the same head and face, just needs to wear rubel's attire, and he'd be a near perfect real life match of rubel.

I found this mini pic on the web and have been looking for a larger image of the first girl in it. I know this image was posted on this site ages ago but it doesn't load any more... So does any one here have the original and larger version of it. It was originally posted on the Live Action thread on one of the first 3 pages of it. I mainly want it because of the incredible job the creators did with it in photoshop and to a lesser degree to add to my huge Claymore image collection.

The only clue I have of who that model is is that the very first post in the Live Action thread has an image (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?p=1332235#post1332235) of her (no photoshoped to look like Teresa) and when you follow the image to it's source it's saved as Beck01, and Beck02 - Beck05 (maybe more) as of her too. However the website is so poorly set up I can't figure out where her images are stored on it. Her image is saved as http://www.bartcop.com/beck-01.jpg, I just manually changed it to http://www.bartcop.com/beck-02.jpg and it brought her up again, however she isn't on the main page and there's too many sublinks on that site to explore them all manually.

but, well, none of them look like teresa... they are jsut missing some quality to teresa that i can't describe in words, but can tell with my eyes hehe.
hmm... i'll try to put into words... you need to find a girl who got a cute smile, but at the same time that cute smile is saying, "i can (censor) up your male (Censor) brutally bad.... I ain't just no pretty doll for you to play with, i ain't one to mess around with". And certinaly none of these girls got that look....
i actually think the unknown pic of yours is the least like teresa, except it's too small for my eyes to really see the face that well and see if it could be teresa like or not.
J.A.'s face, i actually think is kinda what teresa looks like, but still as i said, its not. its missing some key thing i cant describe.
the othr pic that i was originally refering to (shiek's), could maybe look like teresa, a bit, but i definately agree that look-pose of both her hand on her chin and her facial expressions is totally NOT teresa at all. but maybe if some other pose-look was used she might kinda look like teresa.
i think the hair of both your two pics though matches up with teresa's pretty well.

it's not exact, but to me at least it's pretty close, she just needs a different exprssion, bigger smile, BLOND-Lighter eyebrows, her nose isn't quite teresa's either, and hair made curly, can't find a good pic yet...

Had the "nick name" Ryus for about a decade now. At the time I came up with it I had never seen anime beyond what was on toonami and I had barely played street fighter (or seen the anime). Let alone reading a manga... that was still a decade away. So I originally pronounced my user name Ry*us not Ryu's, haven't made up my mind of which I prefer now :heh: but I like both. :p
In short, one of my names in real life is 4 letters long and has two of the same letters as Ryus. So, Ryus felt like a clever disguise of my name for use on the internet. To be perfectly honest I didn't come up withe Ryus either, a computer randomly generated it and I just noticed the parallel with my name and decided I liked it... from then on Ryus was my name on the net. Hell, at times it's my alter ego. :heh:
Now that I know Ryu means Dragon in Japanese I find it cool of me being "Dragons". :p At the same time though... the nostalgia of Ry*us rather than Ryu's is keeping me from fully accepting Ryu's as my official pronunciation of Ryus. I'm just not sure that I can accept the change in how I mentally pronounce it since Ryu's was not my intention but Ry*us. I know it's stupid but 8 years of pronouncing it one way has made me attached to it. I suppose it kinda like if Batman was real, he would eventually call himself Batman in his head rather then Bruce. :eyespin:

As much as I love Sean Bean, that wasn't really a good movie. The action just kept dragging on and on (typical Michael Bay :heh:).

Kind of weird, but I think the trickery was implied or attempted, unless they were trying to take a picture in the South which makes sense.

I knew about some mistakes but I didn't have any patience left in me to redo it. It took me too much time to make these and I would have to go through all images again to look for mistakes. Also, sometimes I really couldn't recognize who was on the picture because of different (and sometimes peculiar) drawing styles. It suffices that there are only few pictures that are doubled (less than 10 I believe) thanks to sorting in Irfan View and that most of them have consistent names.

i never gotten used to them be it in the anime or manga or fan pics...
the shoulder pads are too big.... not proportional to their actual shoulder size....

I've always viewed the "shoulder pads" (really called Pauldrons (http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&source=hp&q=Pauldron&gbv=2&aq=f&oq=&aqi=g4g-m1)) as a way used by the organization to make these frail looking women much stronger to intimidate the villagers and yoma.
Also it can fool the eye, at times, and make the girls have more of an hourglass shape. Hence make them look sexier. Which is likely why some of the ghosts (especially Clare) now have bigger boobs than they did when they where working for the org, it's to give them that same over all hourglass look. To me Yagi is compensating for the optical illusion created by the Pauldrons, to me the girls seem the same to the mind of the readers, even though any fool can tell (if they look) that the girls have gotten bigger. However who really knows why Yagi gave them the "upgrade".

Your Galileo facts are a bit off... the coward gave into the church after being found guilty of heresy and said all the time he'd never told the world the truth when he confined to his home (for the rest of his life). Some hero :rolleyes:. You see he was also a very religious man, his discoveries never told him that his religion was wrong... only that the sun revolving around Earth was.
The church knew he was right all along (well... many of them), they just couldn't have someone so publicly disprove church doctrine. Especially after 15 years of telling him not to publish what he had found. Galileo was a personal friend of the pope, which is why the fool thought he could never get in trouble for publishing what he found. Even at the start of those 15 years of telling Galileo not to publish what he found the church was willing to let heliocentrism be taught as a hypothesis and discussed in scientific circles, so long as the faith of the ordinary people was safeguarded. The church already knew the truth they just wouldn't let there monopoly on the masses minds be broken.
He also said "Saturn has ears"... now in all fairness that was due to horrible resolution in his primitive scopes. Still ears... he could have used a better analogy. :p
Oh and he didn't invent the telescope... he was the first to point it at the heavens and record what he saw. However he did improve the design of the telescope by increasing it's magnification abilities form 3x to 30x.

I imagine it was either a style thing or perhaps the artist disliked how the actual Teresa's physique was (big-busted).

So what is going on with all the filling out the ladies of Claymore are doing? Well I think besides improved drawing skills we can attribute this to Yagi's possible realization that catwalk-like models DO NOT look like warriors. If it were merely character growth (gaining muscle, getting to healthier weight) then other Claymores of the new era would NOT look like this:

So why, besides better drawing skills are the female Claymores of the series getting more realistic and athletic-looking? My favorite theory is that Yagi has become addicted to Xena: Warrior Princess and started realizing he's going to have to buff out his ladies to realistically depict female warriors' true physiques.

I can only hope this trend continues a little further and we finally get Miria looking like a spiky-haired Xena (although she's nearly there already). For the good of the self-image of female fans especially, images of athletic, more muscular Claymores can only help get us away from the dangerously thin Claymores of Yagi's prior work.

Frankly, I like them the way they are right now, but if they were to gain more muscle, I wouldn't mind whatsoever since I know it would be more realistic that way.
But I like them all the way they are now :), and definitely more then how they were in the beginning.

i think the claymores are for the most part nearly perfect proportions for being (female) warriors. any more feminine and (realistically) their combat performance would drop. any more masculine, well they'd be more masculine (male like), lol.
claymores are certainly the most real looking (or realistic) female warriors, compared to like some other manga's/anime's unproportioned and unreal female warrior figures.....

Uh... it's really good. However this is the 3rd or 4th of Baigeneo's MMVs I spotted that there is an AMV version of, made by Flushingthetoilet5. The good news is the way Baigeneo spiced this together is more accurate to the lyrics then the other one (an AMV), one or two parts of them are very close in there shot choices too. When Baigeneo does a MMV what she really focuses on is matching the story with the right panel to the lyrics, now sometimes I'd pick a different scene if I was doing it but her choice is still very good. Sadly when many (not all) AMVs pick scenes to use, they go for cool scenes rather then truly accurate to the lyrics.
The AMV that uses this same song ("Tomorrow" by SR-71) is still pretty good but it focuses more on Priscilla as an external threat when the song is about the internal issues and societal threats/abandonment. The one made by Flushingthetoilet5 still has some very good choices made in its production,which the creator stated was only an hour or so, implying the AMV could have been better but it is still above average for a Claymore AMV. Gotta give props to Baigeneo for making an MMV better then an above average AMV in many ways.
The MMV benefits from being able to use scenes up to Chapter 95 but mostly focuses on the beginning of the story. When the AMV really only uses scenes from the first half of the anime. However the AMV clearly just looks better due to coloring and animation, but ignoring "graphics" and only focusing on production and story telling with the scenes the MMV won this one. All in all though the winner isn't perfectly clear... I'd say the MMV has a minor lead accuracy wise but emotionally both are very good and the AMV just looks better. So both are going on my Claymore playlist.
I put both below so anyone can compare them for themselves, and make there own choices. Feel free to play both at the same time, just mute one of them. If you want to see them truly against each other. Or just watch them one at a time.

Galileo was the person who was locked up in jail because he said the Earth was not the center of the universe. He basically went against the religion-ruled society at the time with his scientific studies and got in trouble for it. Times have changed obviously.

No, I wouldn't say that, it's religion. Obviously, if it was humans who hated change, we'd still be the ultra-conversative society they were for hundreds of years. They turned to God and the Bible because science didn't have explanations at the time.
Galileo got thrown in jail, but despite what happened, he was still proven right eventually, it was only a matter of time. The shift to a more secular society(at least in the West) was slow, but inevitable.

The just dead wrong facts: first off Agatha, Rosemary, Isley, Rigardo, Hilda, and Ophelia are clearly dead not just awakened, the artist needs a color for dead awakened ones. Luciela is dead to... in a sense, she clearly isn't the destroyer due to Clare's comments and indicated by Raphaela's comment about her final death. So I disagree with her statues. Hell, they listed Raphaela as dead... so why not Luciela. Speaking of Raphaela she isn't part of generation 78, why was she listed there.
Unconfirmed statues listed as facts: I agree Irene is dead, but that is still not fact. No one really knows what Alicia's status is, so listing her a awakened is premature. Listing Beth as awakened and not dead was an interesting choice, time will tell with that one. Finally Renee, might not be dead either. Her status is unconfirmed and I believe she is alive not dead.
Oh, I'd also add Veronica to the list, she has been recalled by both Helen and Cynthia since her death. So she is a driving force for two living characters at the moment. And Where is Nina? Why was she left out of Generation 79?
Now if only I had a profile on deviantART so I could post my comment there. :(

Oh, I've been bored the past few days. So to pass the time I've been adding the English text to a chapter that I had in color. It was originally in Chinese. It's Chapter 81 and I added Shrimy's translation to it.
Now I felt like sharing them... mainly since it's in color. :p I do have more chapters in color but each page of them was done by a different artist... so they can get a bit... psychedelic. Still I might add the English translation to them on a later date.
The chapters I have fully in color are 77, 78, 86, & 88 (Chapters 86 and 88 are psychedelic... Chapters 77 and 78 have coloring by one artist like this one, so there easier on the eyes). I also have about half of Chapters 87 and 89 in Color too, it would have been nice to have an arc in color... but oh well... have to make due.

Different light effect in terms of shading. The fourth one probably has a black and white gradient set to luminosity with a higher opacity than the third one, if the third one has a black and white gradient map at all. With the fourth one, the black and white shadings are more obvious. You'll notice the differece especially if you look at Ophelia's body.

I see it; I'm flipping back and forth through the tabs and version C is a tiny bit(extremely) darker then version D. The armor is lighter in Version D. Look and focus on her legs, you'll notice if you keep flipping.
I prefer Version C :)
