The smirk on my face as I watched this episode was one I haven't had in a long time. The speeches about bravery and courage by Kamina/Volfogg have been missed since I finished GaoGaiGar Final. Hopefully they keep this up throughout the whole series. I gave it an 7/10. Very pleased.

concerning the begining of episode 1

you see the future Shimon and also future Rossiu. Shimon is leading the Gurren team and riding in super power up version of gurren lagan. Wonder what happen to Yoko and Kamina.

- Dead already may be? I guess thats the first arc. They killed character in gun buster2 quite easily too. No reason reason not to do it again.

while its probable that the guy wearing Kamina's cloke is Shimon i'm not so sure about the supossed 'future Rossiu'. The main reson being is if you look at him you'll notice he has an animal like nose and markings on his face, possibly making him a beast man, althogh this confuses me as it leads to silly ideas like 'Rossiu will turn into a beast man or something' how this would work i have no idea, my only hypothosis would be that Rossiu is a half breed, you know half beastman half human, and that he changes during adulthood or something, i know this sounds ridicoulous but it would sort of explain a few things about Viral and how he looks human(well mostly human) and is still a beastman.

Oh and FYI Yoko was most lilkey the woman on the intercom and Kamina was most likley dead

The sound doesn't match somehow, I doubt the intercom girl is her. But voice actress can make different tones, so I am not sure. can anyone get something out from the ending credit?

if it was i doubt they'd display the voiceactor in the credits to avoid spoilers so yeah your probably right upon retrospect it probably isnt yoko

8/10: Very Good.

I was quite surprised -- I'm not a mecha fan but this has enough science fiction motifs, humor, and just epic swashbuckling that it entertained me. I a bit of a "post-apocalyptic world" fan so it had extra hooks ... and, of course, there's the Yoko-effect.

Woman operator voice in ep1 is by Takashi mito (三戸 貴史), she done some voice for background character before, but no major roles.

Yoko's voice is by Marina Inoue (井上 麻里奈). She also voiced Wataru Tachibana (Combat butler Hayate), Erio Mondial (Nanoha) and many other major anime characters.

So that's not Yoko, its totally different person.
