lol, the war never ended, sigh, its just been in ceasefire, but the opening up of ep 7 thread has kick started things, sigh this thread is prob gonna uber posts before we even see the first eye bleeding, ear hurting painful raw. I'm just hoping some good discussions can occur through the chaos.

Well, since it's Lutecia's first appearence, I don't expect her to show awesomeness in this episode, but I think she might still make a lot of damage if she has a horde of insects at her command (especially if they're poisonous)

On another note: If the butterflies are summons and she uses them for attack and defense at the same time, I wonder what Zest is there for? Only as some kind of bodyguard?

I have been kind of thinking that Lutecia, as a summoner, will be of the crazy attack powers but crappy defense type. As many have suspected, I think Zest is there as a meat shield, although it's possible he might surprise us and bust out at some point.

As I said before, I'd be cool if Lutecia is more of an assassin type than a raw blasting type, because our protagonists are less equipped to handle such an enemy. At any rate, I expect that they'll lose this fight in some way, because the series is ripe for an enemy that can't be blown up in a single episode, and Lutecia's been given way too much fanfare from the series' creators to be easy prey.

Heh, when I said assassin, I meant like summoning bugbots to poison people or attacking from blind angles with suicide bomber bugbots...or something. Not that Lutecia would act like a ninja. (although it would make her even more similar to Rider if she did so, which is A-OK in my book....)

With the exception of episode 4 (For whatever reasons...), we have been constantly increasing the number of posts for each new episode... So HOPEFULLY (Yes, Hope is still with us...) we won't set the bar too high :heh:...

... Unless it's revealed that episode 8 would be a Chrono-centric or Erio/Carol epiosde, then I'll make it my PERSONAL mission to break the limit...

While I have to admit it would be unique, it'd also be rather gross.

Depending on how they are animating the bugs/butterflies (maybe in pinky light form just like in the opening), it could be very cool.

Plus those bugs are kinda mechanical looking so not too bad if they are not in "pinky form", imagine a modified pink version of C.Bravo Silver Skin's pieces :D
It would be very versatile too ala Gaara's sand, BJ that could be both offensive and defensive will be so troublesome.

I don't know if it's the flu I'm having to deal with right now, or because I'm trying to consider other people, but I think the 'bloody carnage' should not take place. I'm really feeling like hell right now, so I don't feel like fighting 300. For now I'll standby and hopefully I'll be back to normal when the war starts.

Depending on how they are animating the bugs/butterflies (maybe in pinky light form just like in the opening), it could be very cool.

Plus those bugs are kinda mechanical looking so not too bad if they are not in "pinky form", imagine a modified pink version of C.Bravo Silver Skin's pieces :D
It would be very versatile too ala Gaara's sand, BJ that could be both offensive and defensive will be so troublesome.

Please, please, please. Keep it low, guys. I can slightly understand the emotions and the energy, but Nanoha is not a romance-centric show, and it has yet to air.

And regarding Ep7, as much as I hope for the action to restart again, it looks to be another set-up episode, with random banter, mission preparation, the auction proper, and of course the obligatory 'the enemy is coming' part, and they all go into high alert, BJs, devices and all in the final minute of the episode.
Meaning most of the action footage that was shown in the preview most likely came from that last minute.

But still there's things to look forward to:

Aces in formal setting. It'll be another way to see how they've matured to fit into such an environment.

New voices coming up. Zest, Lutecia, Acous, and (I HOPE) Yunno's included. *Tangent Mode.*
Looking at appearances, Toriumi Kousuke(Kiba in Naruto, Gennosuke in Basilisk) would be the frontrunner, but also be incredibly cliche. Seki Tomokazu(needs no intro, I hope) would also be good. Inoue Takehiko(Jerid in Zeta Gundam, Kakashi in Naruto) would own too.
Lutecia would definitely be the strong silent archetype, while Chihara Minori would be the current top pick for everyone, I pray for Noto Mamiko and an Enma Ai-calibre performance. RAWR.
Please don't let Acous' voice be another Koizumi. LOL. I'd prefer it if he had some of the swagger he displayed in Kaze no Stigma. But still, his voice is kind of 1-dimensional, so to speak.

I think it's likely, although I don't know anything about how auctions IRL work, just considering his clan's occupation. The upper members of TSAB society and governance could definitely find some interest in the things dug up by an archaeological clan, assuming Yuuno still has some sort of connections to his old colleagues. (I can't see why he wouldn't, as an influential librarian is a good asset to any archaeological group, for easy access to research. I wouldn't be surprised if he supports his clan in his free time in such a way, and maintains connections.)

It might be possible , depending how they are depicting Hotel Augusta .It is just normal hotel in RL but you never know here ^.^ I would expect him more as an owner instead of manager though.
Maybe Yuuno bought it sometime in the past 10 years to help his tribe.Just providing them with a proper place to do artifact business.

Talking about the auction, that remind of the smuggling dialogue than Hayate had with Genya.For them, attending this auction could be the result of the smuggling investigation that they did in Ep6.
It wouldn't be strange if one/a few of the auction organizers/regulars are found to be involved in the smuggling thus there is a chance that relic might be among the items auctioned (those that safely transported without drone's detection)

I think that that's true. If Yuuno's going to have any sort of a non-cameo role in the series (50/50 chance, I'd say), then this is the plot element that they will likely link him to. Maybe we get more information about what the Jewel Seeds are, and where they have been in the last 10 years. No matter what the case, I think it's a given that Yuuno will be locked up in the Infinite Library researching something for the main characters about the Jewel Seeds at some point in the series.

Very brief notes: There's been villain girl and her adult companion (apparently underlings of Scaglietti's, though the guy doesn't like him very much), more tentacular drone things, all 4 of the Knights (and transformation sequences), the 3 Aces in dresses, Acous (who seems to be on quite familiar terms with Hayate), and Yuuno for about 20 seconds and 2 lines, total.

Also, there's some ANGST! at the end of the episode that looks like it'll lead into episode 8 (more training!).

the good: this episodes delivers more plot / character revelation, drama and much needed suspense

the bad: some of the frames are really bad

the ugly: like... musashi gundoh bad... ORZ

on to the plot:

It is confirmed that Zest and Lutecia are third parties not under the control of the good doctor. Zest personally hates his guts, but Lutecia as I quote "does not hate him THAT much" She is willing to cooperate with the doctor this time in exchange for some benefits

speaking of which, Lutecia is a really really good and versatile summoner mage. so far she used two kinds of summons

bugs: can be used for recon, or fused into gadjet drones to manipulate them directly. It can be also used to WARP gadjet drones

ryuga: an unknown summon that was sent to infiltrate the auction and steal something. it managed to complete its mission flawlessly

Signum and Vita have transformation scenes. But it was all no nonsense and all business like. They are given 2nd level device release permissions for this mission

Teana has major self security problems being among all these people with rare and special skills. It gets to her head and she makes a serious mistake during battle.

Vita chews her out on it. Teana takes it very hard, but frankly I think she is being harder on herself than Vita.

I didn't mention Yuno, because I don't want to beat on a dead horse of a character. (He's the Dororo of Nanoha)

I but if you really want to know, he had less than 10 seconds of screen time comprising of

a) Fate walking pass by him and not saying a word
b) beginning to prepare his auction speech

and btw, remember the somewhat creepy lady talking to the good doctor on the visual window? her name is Euno. lulz

-There is a crap load of drones battle in this episode, there is at least 5 or 6 type 3 that i can see.Signum,Vita and Zafira owned em easy compared to the newbies :p .The newbies watched in awe while Teana realise how much more powerful they are.

-Unlike Lutecia ,Zest doesn't seem to like the Dr. much ...he is some kind of Lutecia guardian, didn't fight at all in this episode.

-Lutecia device Aesculapius (thanks village for the name,i cant spell it) seem to be the dark version of Caro's.Everything it does from the sound effect, magic circle, summoning light looks dark and gloomy.

-Lutecia summoned this horde of bugs which has multiple function such as boosting and stealth mission (it sneak undetected pass Shamal/Shario inside the building).The bugs also able to boost the drones combat abilities by making em smarter causing Signum and gang attack to be ineffective.They also goes after Rein,that scene scare me for a sec i thought they gonna infect rein -_- when they dove into her

-She also summon something in the form of black ray that retrieved the relic inside, never shown what is it look like but from the name it seems to be a dragon too(something __ryu).According to what Caro said ,Lutecia magic rank must be pretty high considering the transport magic that she used to teleport the drones straight into the building.Note that Caro doesn't know Lutecia, she only recognise the spell used

-Second half deal with Teana development, she forced herself to cast multiple variable shooter with Cross mirage.Although they did work pretty well destroying the drones, one of em strayed into Subaru and might cause serious damage if Vita didn't interfere.In a way she also broke the division teamwork because she went all out offensive when she was assigned to defend.

-The way Vita grilling into Teana after that , makes me wonder whether Nanoha accident actually cause by similar thing (vita careless attack was the one that almost killed nanoha ,just speculation)

-Acous found Hayate :) . Hmmm Hayate X Acous doesn't seem to be happening , they look a lot more like brother-sister

-They actually get owned by Lutecia, no one realize that black thingy sneaking in and out with the relic.More on Subaru and Teana, Subaru tried to comfort her but told to go away and Teana cried afterwards

-Episode ended with Yuuno suprising Nanoha/Fate by appearing on stage ...Yuuno sensei O.o Omg that sound kinda corny lol, especially when acous also called him that.

The animation quality was probably the worst yet, even though there was quite a bit of action... but when said "action" is extremely choppy, it looks pretty bad :twitch:. Actually, this is probably one of the worst animated episodes I've watched all season... :(.

Whatever the doctor is looking for, Lutecia calls it the doctor's "toy". The item the doctor was looking for was not part of the auction, and was some unknown item (in a dinky looking crate :p)

oh dear what an ep...im emotionally exhausted ~
fine tea made a mistake...a really big one that could have put subaru in hospital for a few weeks but still i can feel her pain...screwing up like that then having vita go crazy on your see is not a pleasant feeling ~ especially when what she did was intended to protect (though a bit crazy :heh:)

as for the ep it wasnt what i imagined would happen but more or less...we didnt get to see the building get trashed which was a downer imo :heh: and the really shortened transformation scene for our old knights was depressing...but im glad that shamal's chest jigged haha XD *wipes blood*

Zest and lutecia join the good guys, so the doctor captures Caro to try and use her instead.

fine tea made a mistake...a really big one that could have put subaru in hospital for a few weeks but still i can feel her pain...screwing up like that then having vita go crazy on your see is not a pleasant feeling ~ especially when what she did was intended to protect (though a bit crazy :heh:)

No worry don't think Verossa got a thing on Hayate , they seem to be as close as brother and sister could.

Reinforce might be A in term of defense and support but total crap on offense , not sure how actually the rank differentiate between offense/defense specialist. Good combo with Hayate as the offense.

I guess they are pretty special , it is nice though to see that Lutecia actually able to summon those bugs in addition of a dragon.Her dragon is way cooler imo compared to fried, moving around in those black light form.

The slow development formt he first 7 ep is why i didn't like the idea of a 26 Ep season and why i rather have more 13 ep seasons. The 26 ep has allow the production team to let the story drag like this.

Can't really blame her for being upset, that was a very dangerous move that could've ended badly if Vita hadn't been there. While I'm sure Teana will be hard on herself someone had to say it. It was a nice attack before things started to go south.

Knights did a good job out there really impressing everyone. While you know the difference in level between the old and new characters it was pretty clear when Signum easily took down that gadget that required a very impressive combo move with Caro and Erio. Did anyone actually see Erio? Seriously I know with so many characters you can't fit a lot of fighting for them all but still something would've been nice.

That Lutecia is pretty dangerous with the level of her summoning. Really improving the gadgets abilities and making them all the tougher. Will be fun to see just what else she can pull off and what that Zest guy can do. Not a bad job for introducing her, but I'll surely like to see some more in the future.

With Yuuno, he really didn't get much this episode. All that we got there was him talking a bit and a "Yuuno-kun". But both girls looked happily surprised, so seems like they didn't know he'd be there.

One day we'll get Chrono's grand entrance. In the darkest hour he'll show up to help out...we can only hope.

Erio/Caro and Subaru pretty much never shown fighting this time..Subaru only shown came out to help Teana as a bait.

Yuuno-sensei still sound really corny no matter how many times i listen to it :heh: especially when Verossa said it.I guess we will see much more of him in the next episode, hopefully last more than a minute ^.^

Can't say I didn't expect the Yuuno thing. Even though his story potential is there, the development on the fray of things seem still low-key and more rookie-centric sprinkled with bits here and there and having Yuuno thrown in here seems a little awkward. Hey, most of us didn't expect to see him until episode 15 at least so what's wrong with him pulling a Dororo on us?

And him being addressed as Yuuno-sensei is a given, since he's apparently a pretty well respected and famous scholar, maybe even an author, and it's by general respect that he gets addressed as such.

No doubt you get some crazy face distortion in some arcs of Higurashi (finished watching that yesterday).

Understandible that Yuuno would have the title considering what he's probably been up to all these years. Maybe just because we'll always remember him as Yuuno-kun, or ferret-boy.

Next week certainly seems like Teana getting over her mistake from this episode. Probably some flashbacks with her time with Subaru, and some speach from said Subaru getting her past this issue.

- I see Cross Mirage has at least the same capabilities as Teana's old Anchor Gun.

- Wolkenritter henshin! I think they had to get approval from HQ to do so too. As usual, Zafira gets left out.

- I see that the primary method for bypassing an Anti-Magic Field appears to be brute force attacks. That, or these Gadgets aren't using AMFs anymore.

- Zafira really is a Tanker.

- Either Teana is impressed by the Wolkenritter, or she's jealous. Or both.

- Lutecia's Device is called Asclepius. Even more connections with Caro. Looks like Zast doesn't like Scaglietti, but Lutecia doesn't mind, and Zast doesn't really mind that Lutecia is willing to work for the doctor.

- Square sigil! Along with ominous music and evil-looking dark purple. Also, Caro's Kerykeion reacts.

- Tentacles? No, insects. And they apparently can upgrade the Gadget drones.

- Do all villains have to sound so creepy? Scaglietti and his secretary sound so cliche.

- Caro, the defenseless Boost mage, jumps between Subaru and Elio, the melee fighters, and the summoned/transported drones. What.

- Rein gets tagged by a few insects. This seems to cripple her a lot more than I expected.

- Teana seems to hate asking for help.

- Wow, Vita can really chew out someone. I feel kind of sorry for Subaru and Teana.

- Yuuno again! And... that's it? Well, at least now Nanoha and Fate know he's there, so maybe next episode we can have more Yuuno.

- Teana angsts. I kind of saw this coming. Riot Force 6's first failed mission (technically, anyway), which gives us another episode to reflect on it, with even more opportunities for angst.

- I wonder if they'll show any disciplinary actions against Teana. Vita did yell at Subaru already for it, and nobody really got hurt, but I don't know whether Teana's super-shot was actually breaking any regulations.

- Prediction for next episode: Teana angsts, Subaru attempts to cheer her up, lots of reminiscing about their training days. We may get a bit more Yuuno interaction, but I'm thinking that this will carry over to the next after. Then again, I was pretty much wrong on both counts with my previous predictions for this episode, that we'll have some Yuuno scenes (as opposed to the two short glances we had), and the team will actually meet Lutecia (they didn't meet face-to-face).

To be honest, the quality STILL doesn't seem to be as bad as that one episode of A's. The one where the person who does the animation/art decided to drastically warp Nanoha's face. That, and this company fixes things on DVD.
As bad as all of this becomes, I have kinda started to simply expect it out of Nanoha, so it's not too bad for me.

indeed. My bet is half the funds get ditributed amonst the first 3/4's of the series with the last half for the last 1/4. - I see that the primary method for bypassing an Anti-Magic Field appears to be brute force attacks. That, or these Gadgets aren't using AMFs anymore.

- Either Teana is impressed by the Wolkenritter, or she's jealous. Or both.

- Lutecia's Device is called Asclepius. Even more connections with Caro. Looks like Zast doesn't like Scaglietti, but Lutecia doesn't mind, and Zast doesn't really mind that Lutecia is willing to work for the doctor.

- Square sigil! Along with ominous music and evil-looking dark purple. Also, Caro's Kerykeion reacts.

- Tentacles? No, insects. And they apparently can upgrade the Gadget drones.

- Do all villains have to sound so creepy? Scaglietti and his secretary sound so cliche.

- Caro, the defenseless Boost mage, jumps between Subaru and Elio, the melee fighters, and the summoned/transported drones. What.

- Rein gets tagged by a few insects. This seems to cripple her a lot more than I expected.

- Teana seems to hate asking for help.

- Wow, Vita can really chew out someone. I feel kind of sorry for Subaru and Teana.

- Yuuno again! And... that's it? Well, at least now Nanoha and Fate know he's there, so maybe next episode we can have more Yuuno.

- Teana angsts. I kind of saw this coming. Riot Force 6's first failed mission (technically, anyway), which gives us another episode to reflect on it, with even more opportunities for angst.

- I wonder if they'll show any disciplinary actions against Teana. Vita did yell at Subaru already for it, and nobody really got hurt, but I don't know whether Teana's super-shot was actually breaking any regulations.

- Prediction for next episode: Teana angsts, Subaru attempts to cheer her up, lots of reminiscing about their training days. We may get a bit more Yuuno interaction, but I'm thinking that this will carry over to the next after. Then again, I was pretty much wrong on both counts with my previous predictions for this episode, that we'll have some Yuuno scenes (as opposed to the two short glances we had), and the team will actually meet Lutecia (they didn't meet face-to-face).

Yeah, I just found it kind of odd that with all the tech talk so far, I haven't really seen anyone talking about this. We've seen it in the first season between Nanoha and Yuuno (as well as Arf and Fate), in the second season between the Wolkenritter, and I'm guessing that it's not a difficult thing to learn, at least for mages. I need to watch the first season again; maybe telepathy requires a Device of some sort. It seems to be Standard Issue, and yet should be a bit harder than spamming energy blasts.

I'd be willing to bet that Teana will torture herself about that mistake until almost death, whereas Subaru will try as best as she can to cheer her up. She's the type that can't afford making mistakes or her conciousness will kill her.

Hopefully they'll give us something really good at the end of the series, that justifies the lack of good animation in certain episodes.

Watched the episode, and I mirror everyone's sentiments about the animation. It was kind of dissapointing, but after the weird hiccups of the first two seasons, we shouldn't be too surprised. It is kind of annoying that this episode seemed to have even less of a buget than the training episodes, and this was the first time we really got to see the Wolkenritter fighting. (Other than 20 seconds in episode 3)

Quick side note though, I did find it pretty awesome when Signum loaded a cartridge with her sword still sheathed. Too bad she didn't bust out with some awesome batto-jutsu energy slash or something.

Anyway, Lutecia seems to act a lot more like Caro than I thought, with her bugbots being some sort of uber-boost for the drones. I'm sure we'll see more of her ghost/dragon/whatever summon in later eps.

Anyway, anyone who is dissapointed with the animation should rewatch the first half of episode 5 of the first season. *shudders* Puts everything in perspective.

Since it is a new unit they'll probably have to figure out how to deal with it. Though they are part of a larger organization so there's probably an idea how they would act if they'd do more then Vita already did on the scene. When your working with something like magic there is always the chance that an accident can occur. Since Subaru wasn't actually injured in the event it probably won't be too much. Add in they'll probably notice that Teana is already beating herself over this and let it be.

I have no doubt in Subaru's ability to hound Teana until she gets cheered up. It's that kind of relationship they have that's made them a good team up to that point. Everything should be fine in an episode in that regard, though have to wonder how Teana will respond when they get back into action. Could expect some self doubt, that she'll have to work through most likely in order to save the team from being taken out.

Yeah she actually partially taking control of em, more precisely her bugs became the drones' new brain.Remember that in Ep6 Spagethii said the drones are autonomous and out of his control once released so they are pretty monotone and clumsy by themselves.None of em even bother to try to avoid the knight's attack.

I'm not too sure about this. They dropped from a helicopter from pretty high heights in an earlier episode and seemed to have landed fine without the use of Wing Road.

Makes me wonder if she has a long way to go before getting classified as an Air Combat mage. :heh: In fact, given that flight is a goal of both Subaru and Teana, I had origionally been wondering how they would give Subaru such an ability, considering that it'd just look dumb for her to hover around wearing rollerblades. :D

....Um, yeah. I guess there wasn't any point to this post other than to express how cool I think Subaru is. Teana needs to get out of emo mode fast so we can see them kick ass together, because I forsee some seriously awesome stuff once they finally stop acting like newbs.

I'd say Barrier Jacket has powered armour and inertia/shock dampers built in. :heh: Looking at Vita's explaination in 6, it seems the defensive aura permeates the user in a constant manner.

Keeping wing road closer to the body is somewhat better than before, kind of like how Iceman does it :D Better able to keep the spell away from the effect of an AMF although Subaru is going to leave much of the driving to MC. I doubt there will be a problem of the girl stopping or even slamming into a wall from this, unless the AMF has a good enough reach to negate Subaru's travel spells. Likely MC can create Wing Road around obstacles and kick in Assault Grip for traction and sudden stops.

Vita being Vita is always serious business :uhoh: She has probably been whacking the opposition for countless millennia, so she feels it's going to take a while for anyone to be able to measure up. Nanoha beat/befriended her through superiority of raw firepower :heh: how the rookies do this I'm already eager to see :D

Hmm seem i didn't word my reply properly.What i mean is that even in Ep4 when She used wing road to travel vertically, the roads didn't exactly go in straight line.They are all kind of circular in a way.That means there will be slight delay if she need to avoid attack by going vertically up or down.

In my opinion since Lutecia using dark kind of summon , her supposedly dragon might not be exactly in dragon like form if you look at the shadow when it came out of the truck.Am thinking of some kind of mantis/dragon mix ala aura battle dunbine mechas.This is sound so weird >_> i just curious after looking at that pic

Well my take was of the dragonkin stage of a dragon's life, that is being able to assume a humanoid form. This supposedly occurs when the dragon has matured enough to gain the power to transform into a human, and having that state means that the dragon has indeed come quite far. I inferred that Lute's dragon is a very powerful one for that matter.

Indeed it is so. My guess however is that knowing Subaru, she might just get robot-boy feet for flight and starting jumping around like Astroboy.

A few other comments concerning the epi:

- You call that henshin?! I cry foul for tsukaima discrimination. I mean, we never even got enough a dose of Shamal MILFness to feel anything. :heh:

- Zafira does it simple: Stand his ground. Just like a Velka guy always does. :D

- Fate opens her eyes and walks past, while Yuuno thinks he saw someone familiar. Both parties were involved in deep thought and conversation respectively before that brush meeting, so you can forgive them for not noticing. But I got to admit, its kind of unlike Fate to miss stuff, especially when she's a top investigator. Probably a plothole here.

And as expected, the Riot 6 was there undercover. Not even the guest speaker was told of their presence. But somehow, Yuuno being on the GOH list never ended up on Riot 6's table, which is weird considering that all good protection operations have an exact idea of what and who they are protecting. It's either another unforgivable plothole, or Hayate's been spending too much time playing with her Nii-chan to make sure they got everything. :uhoh:

There is something that I've always liked about this entire series, that the good guys don't always win. S1 has Nanoha lose to Fate in the majority of her encounters till she went nuclear >_<. S2 has both of them smashed into the floor by the Velka knights, leading to another superweapon race :twitch: . S3 has a noob patrol learning the same hard lessons and having the old crew fight without the better part of their powers [limiter nerf+AMF Hax :(]. The whole setup of the series is calling for a rethink on how they should administer "overpowering friendship".

On the current team, as yet I don't believe they've started on intergration training with the old crew yet. The likely reason being that the recruits are not quite up to par in skills and maturity. Nanoha and Vita should make intergration a priority in their training regime, Fate is on the right track with her pair [though she could also be playing matchmaker :rolleyes: ].

Teana's issues come from being not having close relatives/family left for moral support. Highly independent and self reliant mindset for the girl, also less likely to ask for help and break when it gets hard.

But the manga illustrates a good point about this, sometime if you want to fly you're going to have to get a leg from a friend. :uhoh:

With friends like this, the girl isn't going to stay depressed for long. :heh:

I'm not sure if there's any evidence either way of whether Wing Road can be a good enough substitute for actual flight. I'm not sure if it requires a sort of anchor point, or if it requires more magical energy to maintain than flying around. (Or an equal amount, but since a B-rank may not have the same amount as an A-rank... this is getting complicated.)

Basically, here's a scenario: Vita gets attacked by a generic beam of energy. She blocks it, but gets knocked back a few feet. She regains her balance, and continues hovering.

Now imagine this with Wing Road: Subaru gets attacked by a generic beam of energy, blocks it, and gets knocked off Wing Road. Now, if Wing Road is summonable in thin air, that's fine. But if she needs an anchor point on solid ground, that may complicate matters. Imagine if the battle is over a large expanse of ocean, like Nanoha's and Fate's climactic battle in the first season, or the final Pin The Starlight Breaker On The Tentacle Monster battle in A's.

Speaking of battles over lack of solid ground, I need to rewatch the first season, but I have to wonder: with all the anti-magic the Gadgets are throwing around, wasn't the first (and until StrikerS, last) mention of zones where magic doesn't work in the Nanoha-verse in the first season, during the last battle in the Garden of Time?

EDIT: A random thought occurs: I get the feeling that at least part of why Teana is beating herself up over that stray shot was because in using the Crossfire, she exhausted herself so much that she could not control the direction of her shot (as Nanoha was training her in episode 6). At least, that's my interpretation.

Also, this is technically the second time (?) onscreen that a stray shot had unintended consequences. The first time destroyed a camera drone; whether this resulted in Official Consequences (apart from them failing the test) for Teana is unknown.

While I'm sure the original JS might have gone into more durable drones/Relic weapons we have yet to see, that might also explain how he mass produces them for his drones.

Considering Subaru was using Wing Road in episode one, I'd say that Mach Calibre is not the source of that particular spell.

However, it is possible that Mach Calibre refined the spell, perhaps using its own methods to approximate Subaru's original Wing Road. After all, Subaru also cooked up her own Divine Buster. So it is entirely plausible that the Wing Road seen in episode 5 is an upgraded, or perhaps simply different version of the one seen in episode 1.

Random: In episode 4, Nanoha is distracted (in the "hit me if you can" training exercise) by an illusion of Subaru bearing down on her on a Wing Road. Now, this could mean that Subaru can control all the twists and turns of the Wing Road without actually being near the edge of it, or Teana has gotten really good at illusions, enough to recreate a Wing Road illusion.

I'm not sure if the grip by Mach Calibre is enough to contend with the knockback from plenty of spells, but then it's also very plausible.

Right now, running on four hours of sleep, I'm thinking that maybe one reason Scaglietti needs a summoner with extreme power (boosted by the Relics) is because he wants to summon Alhazred itself.

Even more of a stretch, though.

EDIT: Also, I should add that I think the zones of null magic in the Garden of Time are at least several orders of magnitude harder to crack than the AMFs produced by the drones. I still haven't checked the episode in question yet, but I think Chrono mentions that if they fall into the null magic zone, they won't be able to escape.

Now, this could be because Chrono wasn't confident of them knowing what to do to overcome the anti-magic. But I think it's more probable that even with Nanoha's and Fate's known uber-talent for magic, those null magic areas are just too much for anyone.

I'm not sure whether to bring up Precia's own magical talents, since at the end, it's a tossup about whether she'd bother trying to save herself (and Alicia) from falling endlessly.

I'm guessing that any attempts Scaglietti would have hypothetically made into that null magic zone would have required a more elegant solution than what Riot Force 6 is doing against the drones, which is a simple brute force attack. If he succeeded, though, it'll be interesting to see what he finds fit to retrieve, since we know that in there, there is at least Precia, three Jewel Seeds, and Alicia. I would think that if he tried to extract any one of them without extracting them all, Precia would go ballistic on him, since all of those were fairly important to her.

Yuuno appears for about 10 seconds max, but most of the ep was showing what was happening outside, so thats understandable. Also, Fate/Nanoha had no idea that Yuuno was there. They did look happy to see him though...

Lucetia aka loli rider has finally arrived, with bug bots that enhance the perfomance of the drones as well as another summon that was able to sneak past everyone and steal the relic.

Tia's crossfire shoot is much more powerful now, as well as having alot more shots. All she needs now is learn some control, one of her shots nearly takes out Subaru but was batted out of the way but Vita just in time. Gets chewed out by Vita, setting up what looks to be an ep. on Tia's reaction to nearly taking out Subaru.

First is the briefing session on the plane, nothing speacial here other this the forwards learns who is the enermy and Subaru absently pat Zafira :heh:

Then is the 7sec Yunno carmo, once again good job Fate :D

Subaru and Teana's dialoge about Hayate's knights, only thing I noted is her passing comment on basicly its invincible to beat.

Teana is self comments are intersting like how the unit is overpowered with Captians are at least S+ rank, and units are full of people with rare skills. She is having an inferior complex I think.

My guess is that she'd let herself fall indefinitely to reach whatever place she's headed for. I doubt she'll reach Al Hazred or find the Necromnicon (its related to Al Hazred) or whatever she intends to do, but would be falling down a bottomless pit. And that gives Spagetti's drones or himself a chance to reach her.

A little more on Lutecia's objective could be nice too, even though I'm getting they are saving it for later.

If there is training then it will be good for the forwards or at least Teana and Subaru to get a REAL mock battle with Nanoha or Vita :D

Finally got to watch the episode in full, and for one even though the action scenes could've been better, the episode doesn't quite reek "QUALITY" that most other people here point out. :heh:

Thoughts:

- Zafira just owned Caro and Elio simply by talking... it's strange that despite doing less here than in A's, I found him more awesome in this ep.

- Wolkenritter Henshin, nuff awesomeness said. It's unusual how Shamal has the longest transformation (not unwelcome though :D)

- As expected, the Wolkenritter do what they do best: kicking ass. Although Vita being able to shoot off 8 Schwalbe Fliegens instead of 4 in A's was quite new (the way they animated it reminded me of GDI Juggernauts doing a long range bombardment... my favorite tactic :heh: ). And Signum should do her in-sheath cartridge loading more often XD

- ... and all that azzkicking makes Teana wish she had an ounce of awesomeness the Knights have...

- Lutecia was pleasantly surprising in her abilities and her character. Even while performing all the dirty business she seems to care a lot about her summons, which I found cute. And the fact that she was able to perform three different tasks (enhancing and teleporting the drones, and stealing their target) without even exposing herself is awesome by itself.

- For a moment Teana was superbly awesome with her mass Crossfire Shoot attack... it was unfortunate that Vita had to save Subaru from getting hit (I guess it's not called Crossfire for nothing... :heh: ). And did Vita grill Teana... HARD.

- Acous wins for giving us a scene that actually made me smile for some reason (Hayate jabbing him playfully) :)

I have a very active imagination when it comes to speculations on future events, but I try to rein them in with a demand for canon evidence. Hmmm.... on this point, by most basic definition Lost Logia are simply magical or technological artifacts from an ancient civilization. By this definition, because it's listed as Lost Logia doesn't mean it has to be inherently dangerous. For example, if today's technology were considered Lost Logia, then we have nuclear, biological and chemical weapons of mass destruction which can be considered Jewel Seeds or such, but on the other extreme we'd have electric razors, pocket calculators and blenders which would be classified under the same definition, but inherently harmless (although you can hurt someone with an electric razor if you try hard enough :heh:).

- Yes LoweGear. Wolkenritter transformations are _awesome_. Looks like they got the ep5 animation team back for just those, and that's good.

- Schwalbe Fliegen! On steroids!

- Signum's fight was pretty unimpressive though, just like she said, she only knows how to swing a sword and cut enemies down. No flair, just efficiency.

- I hope that's not what I think is a very unprotective BJ for Lutecia.

- Looks like the scales are now even, buffs wise.

- Was Tiana's overconfidence based on the fact that she was in the same team as various other geniuses/people with unique abilities?

- Rein nerfed?! WTFHAX, is all I have to say.

- I am now a fan of Sanada Asami. Full stop. Her scolding voice sends chills down my recently demilitarised(and therefore undisciplined) spine.

I'm thinking the devices are most likely created equal, and hence I feel Cross Mirage should be handed none of the responsibility for the mistake. It's more likely that Tia's practice with her device has most likely not been enough and that she can't coordinate/control her own magic output rate/impulses that Cross Mirage was cracking under pressure. I'm thinking more along the line of sync ratios and stuff I guess, having just watched Gigantic Formula :P

By this definition, because it's listed as Lost Logia doesn't mean it has to be inherently dangerous. For example, if today's technology were considered Lost Logia, then we have nuclear, biological and chemical weapons of mass destruction which can be considered Jewel Seeds or such, but on the other extreme we'd have electric razors, pocket calculators and blenders which would be classified under the same definition, but inherently harmless (although you can hurt someone with an electric razor if you try hard enough :heh:).


That could lead to so many potential comical situations :D ...
