I don't know, the Yuuno-bashing is actually pretty calm compared to some other fandoms I've been in. (See: Fruits Basket.)

Having said that, "not as bad" does not mean "good".

Personally, I don't particularly care whom Nanoha ends up with romantically, but I wouldn't mind seeing some resolution to the matter in canon. This is unlikely to happen, though, since I don't think we'll be getting any more romance other than Erio/Caro (if that).

in the end this series isnt the type that would have any solid relationships tbh...they do throw hinters here and there but it usually ends up being exaggerated by fanboys thinking about the "possibilities" :p ~ i guess thats where the fun comes in ^.^

What bothers me is the producers' relationship with the characters - so far it seems like they're afraid to do something wrong to any of them and are playing it too safe with the fans (as examples - keeping most of old characters in one bunch, no clear development to NXY, and more recently situation around Ep.8-9 - it felt like they screamed "No-no, don't misunderstand, Nanoha couldn't behave wrong, see - it's all explained and everyone's happy again", and there're probably more, that's to start the discussion :D).

I've observed that a long time ago.

The writers overly favors their treasured main characters. But then again, so do some of the fans.

Also look at it this way:
If they reveal a coupling involving the main characters too soon in, they might lose viewers. You know how it always turns out in shipping wars when one side turns out to be canonically correct.

Some people are only watching StrikerS to see if NxF will happen, and of course some might be watching to see if NxY will happen. I think a NxS fan grouping has started as well. So Nanoha is pretty much very important to keeping the series fans happy... XD

Just pull a Naruto and have Nanoha get a little with all 3 pairings is what they'll do but never give anything solid...

I don't understand such people, if the show gets more interesting in case my favourite character does something I don't normally want him/her to do I can live with it. There're characters for whom I care more than for others but I won't complain if they make some mistakes or get hurt if it served to prove that heroes aren't always right and they don't always win. Everything ends up too good in S3 so far.

P.S. On 4chan Ep.8 almost managed to stop the trolling for a while :D Ep.9 wasn't able to repeat its success though.

I think it's a way of signifying close relationships. Since I think that line, or something similar, is also used for Fate (Connected at the heart). I think they wanted to assure anyone that Yuuno is still one of Nanoha's friends. xD

Could just be that Vice, who has a pretty limited ability, is a little envious of somebody like Teana, who has a good general ability -and- a lot of potential. I mean, Vice isn't a newbie; he's as good at what he's doing as he's likely to get, and that's all there is to it. Sure, combat pilot is a valuable job, and there's a lot of use for things like courage and a cool head, but at the end of the day, the most he can really do is hold the hats of the people who really go out there and fight (or, in the worst-case scenario, save their bacon.) And even that's of use in a limited number of situations - if they can teleport there directly, or in situations where they run into an enemy by surprise, he's as useful as a screen door on a submarine.

(Then again, we don't KNOW that Vice is a useless git in a fight - for all we know, that angular, blocky, ugly-looking 'copter could be mounting some incredibly badass weaponry, armor like a tank, magic shields, rocket engines, sky's the limit. But probably not, huh?)

So sure, it's possible, but you never know. The real trick is the outright shortage of men - the pool of possible guys is limited to Yuuno, Elio, Vice, Hayate's inspector friend, and Zest (and, oh god, Doc Scaglietti). Granted that relationships involving guys in Nanoha are the exception and not the rule. But given that none of those guys is exactly a Lothario, and two of the five are antagonists, and one of the remainder is (a) too young and (b) possibly locked up by Caro at this point anyway...

Of course, there's a lot of room for something to come in out of left field. Who knows? Vice could drop by the doctor one time too many and fall for Shamal. Signum and Zest could start something on the battlefield. Doc Scaglietti might run into Vita, discover that she's an eternal lolita, and give up the whole evil thing. Nanoha could enthusiastically hook up her "good friend Yuuno" with Hayate. Still a lot of episodes left, and I'd be shocked if we didn't get at least one "man, who saw that coming?" relationship out of the show.

Yup. That's what we're hoping for. It's not really like there weren't any. Take Amy-Chrono for example. But the thing that bites here is the fact that they didn't really show enough development between the to qualify as satisfying for most. I'm actually expecting the producers to pull off another surprise in the form of a seemingly-out-of-nowhere romantic relationship since a show like this isn't really complete without that. The most we are given now is the Loli-Shota development.:heh:

The 2nd most hated Airforce job in the US Army is a "truckie", ie, supply line heli. Then again, the Marine equivalent are proud of it, because their technically in the heat of things as well. So it depends on what you equate the Riot 6 to be really.

And if he's related to Teana's onichan, I'm sure he'd be glad to be able to look after her.

Considering he has more lines and screentime than any other male thus far with the exceptions of Elio and Scaglietti, I'm guessing that he might be more significant than he seems.

Of course, maybe he's just a foil for some plot point or other. Still, a Vice/someone romantic sideplot may not be so far-fetched after all.

If nothing else, he can be the Kind Oniichan character with the down-to-earth advice.

Looking at the sound stage picture, I have a theory of my own. I said it somewhere before but can't remember which thread.

Anyway, I still think that the blond loli is a clone of Alisa but with the 20-year old's memories. I think she's clinging to Nanoha not because she's the clinging type, but because she simply is rather frighten at the strange situation she's in and that she knows Nanoha the longest out of everyone there.

Fate and Hayate would find it rather funny because seeing the normally strong willed Alisa acting like that is rather cute and endearing i suppose. Rein expression simply tell me that she thinks that Hayate isn't taking the situation serious enough.

As for the rookies,I'm assuming they don't know the truth. Subaru and Caro just screams determination to me. Maybe they are determined to be her friend and onee-san respectively. Teana, most likely worry what will go wrong with Subaru involved. Erio is likely to be clueless, not sure what role he is going to play.

I think Arisa and Suzuka might have been trapped in the barrier put up by R1 for another reason. They have been in contact with Hayate, thus being friends with Nanoha and Fate, maybe R1 thought that they had also hurt her feelings and that they were part of why Hayate "wanted the world that took away her loved ones to be destroyed".

Well, since there were too many hints in 1st and 2nd seasons for FateXChrono pairings, it is just natural ppl think this way. Especially most fanart we have seen so far were drawn before third season or even StrikerS manga. And they are siblings only in name. I don't think there are any problem either in law or in morality. Truth to tell, I felt being betrayed when I found out Chrono got married. They at least could leave it as an open story, right? Fate is still in teen and Chrono is just in his mid 20s. No need to end the possibility in such a hurry.

So after episode 17, are the writers of Nanoha are now pointing at us to a possible "CarimXChrono" factor?

Well, they've sacrificed that aspect for epicness -wannabe in storytelling. Wannabe since for everything they're building up in terms of story scale, it doesn't really feel epic at all. YET.

Since it's only RF6 and Jail-faction... nothing remotely close to the collapse of TSAB, evil insiders, 3rd parties, painful betrayals, risk of world destructions, and all that stuff that screams EPIC. And we still don't know much about these bad guys.

Well, they've sacrificed that aspect for epicness -wannabe in storytelling. Wannabe since for everything they're building up in terms of story scale, it doesn't really feel epic at all. YET.

Since it's only RF6 and Jail-faction... nothing remotely close to the collapse of TSAB, evil insiders, 3rd parties, painful betrayals, risk of world destructions, and all that stuff that screams EPIC. And we still don't know much about these bad guys.

It's things like this that make me wish Strikers was slated to be a 35-40+ series.:( Not to mention they are also quite ambiguous in the relationships department.:heh:

Anyway, from what Uno's character description said, Uno x Jail may not be too farfetched after all. In fact, I got Makoto Shishio x Yumi vibes from it. And apparently Tre holds Jail in a nice regard and trust him a lot...nice. :D

For my thoughts on the ChronoxCarim thing (since lets face it anything getting Chrono involved again is good). They really do seem to fit well together, going along with Chaos's mention of the two being the type to drink wine etc. Certainly they have some nice discussions so getting along isn't an issue. Besides let's face it a lot of things would be solved by making pairings of three...or four(Vice..).

But the Vice thing could be interesting. Plenty of opportunities for hospital visits since he'll be sitting there until the end of the series.

No way, at least not Permanently or in it's original form.

If not the writers would undermine one of the most important moral of season 1. That no magic could change the past or bring back the dead. I doubt they would step on their own toe this way.

I don't think so, she has been search for it for quite some time already, that takes commitment.

I'm thinking the same thing, that Jail convinced her to look for Relic 11 because that's probably the exact relic he'll be needing.

heh I didn't notice all of that because, well most of the time she's pretty much emotionless...maybe before the season is done, I want to see her cry or something out of the sort...some kind of strong facial expression from Lutecia.

I agree that he most likely has his own personal reason, but I still think it will be infused inside that Rider-lookalike. Besides, Jail did say that Lutecia was his well-constructed-toy behind her back, so I'm kind of doubting the mother thing a little..

I wouldn't be surprised if it's kinda like Precia all over again, where Jail tries to clone Rider, but turns not what he expected (( loli, without memories, not that powerful )), so he lies to her and uses her to find Relic XI, and once he "restores" Rider, he has no use for Lutecia anymore.

I compared the Relic number visible in that scene to the ones in eps 6 and 12. The size of the thick slant "\" suggests it's an "X' not a "V" and the thickness of the patch of columns after it is more like "III" than "II". Therefore it is most likely Relic XIII that the Doctor is going to use on Vivio.
