I am interested in any sort of anime that is closely related to Claymore, Berserk or Basilisk.
Basically involves fighting demons/monsters with a lot of actions/power and a somewhat dark pilot to it.
Please let the anime has an adult male or female as the main character. No main characters in his or her teenage youth (below the age of 18), they tend to hasitate quite often, which usually just ruins the mood. =/
Thanks.

I would have said Gantz, but the guy is less then 18. I too do not like 14-15 year old main characters for the same reasons you just gave (and also for looking like little girls like the main character from Melody of Oblivion, they tend to be annoying as well)
Do you just want sword fighting, or guns and magic can be included too?
I would say try:
Karas
Highlander: The Search for Vengeance (By the same person behind Ninja Scroll)
Blame
Hellsing
Holder stuff:
Demon City Shinjuku
Megalopolis
Wicked City
Angel Cop
Genocyber
Aah, fighting demons? Plenty of titles around. But...

That really cuts the list short.:heh:
There's Shin Angyo Onshi (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/manga.php?id=6019) but there's also plenty of drama and moral/philosophical conflicts besides the demon hunting.
Another title which has a similar atmosphere (imo) would be Blame! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BLAME%21) by Tsutomu Nihei. Yes, it's cyberpunk, not supernatural, but the combat is essentially the same with hordes of killing machines and a select few capable of laying cities to waste. Besides being dark, the plot's also quite unique since the readers are left on their own to put it together and make sense of the events. Wonderful stuff if you're into conspiracy theories or speculation.
i strongly, strongly, strongly recommend Gungrave (http://www.anime-planet.com/anirec/675.html). i suggest not reading the synopsis in most locations (though it's spoiler free at the link above) as you'll have it spoiled, but notice it's the top rec for berserk there ;)
not similar as far as plot, but just trust me, you'd like it if you liked berserk. SO GOOD (one of my rare 10s). note: get past episode 1... it's reminiscent of berserk in that regards. many people get turned off by the first ep (including me, the first time i watched/dropped it)
maybe...
Bakuretsu Tenshi (http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=1536)
Chrno Crusade (http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=1052)
Ayakashi Ayashi is about fighting supernatural creatures and the main character is (shock and horror!) is a middle aged male.
Chevalier (http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=4396) -- historical/action and lots of drama
Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto (http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=4570) -- samurai/action

Shin Angyo Onshi appears to be a decent anime to waste my tiem with. I will be sure to check it out.
BLAME! is one of my most favorite manga, and the anime for it was rather awkward, but quite alluring in a sense. =]
Chevalier (http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=4396) -- historical/action and lots of drama
Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto (http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=4570) -- samurai/action
Chevaliar and Bakumatsi Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto both looks very intruguing. I will be sure to check 'em out whenever possible.

Seen a few episodes of Ayakashi Ayashi and is now hooked!
Thank you all very much for all the references. Anymore would be much appreciated. Thanks again.

Not necessarily fighting demons/monsters, but from what I see, those ninjas from Basilisk are considered as "monsters" with their unique abilities.
