Most probably - Ep.10 is a bit fillerish with the heroes relaxing etc. Near the end something happens and we have a cliffhanger.

Less probably - unexpected things happen earlier, like Lutecia interacting with Erio/Caro.

Since there are 4chan goers says that something major is going to happen in ep 10. I'm hoping this indeed will be the case.

and if this does occur then depends on how they are pacing the Ep, they could get the "holiday" part covered in the first half and have the rookies taking on an mid boss kinda enermy and ends with Aces go Bai.... I mean Limiter release....

seriously, i think the opposite : i would like the release of the limiters quickly, so the Aces won't be seen as insanely strong compared to the rookies, and thus, lessening the gap and the impression of weakness.
if they keep the limiters for the last episodes, it will probably used as a ugly deus ex machina, just like how l'arc-en-ciel was in A's...

Personlly I don't belive its too early since we are about it hit the half way mark with 3 more eps. If they bring the mid boss out be it a gaint Drone or Lutecia and Zest, if its the latter the rookies at their current power levels should not be able to deal with. If the enermy plays dirty and attacks the rookies while the Aces in engaging the enermy then I should think we got a good chance at seeing a limiter release or two here...

at least this is what I'm hoping for anyways.

I'd think before the Strikers-to-be even got closed to the insanely uber power the Aces have, they'd need quite a few limiter releases ya know.
But it would be nice to see what Erio, Caro, and Subaru's devices would do at level 2...

That is my guess for the boss order too.

But given the unimpressiveness of the rookies currently, my guess is that the Aces are going to steal most of the leetness and screen time from the rookies, like that of GSD.

i'll rather the aces act like a squad and uses both stragedy and power to defeat foes.

I'm sure that if the enermy is too powerful then the Aces will opt for more strategy in combat. However I currently do not see any thing that can not be solved with a big hammer

No need to be a power up for em and goes SS mode...I was tying to say something more like teamwork from em without the aces help on final part, not necessarily becoming as strong as the aces.Gahh my bad english sorry..

ahh right ~ teamwork > haxx mode anyday for me :3 (well it cant be helped with nanoha and CO but they would have their hands full at that time i guess ;))

Mind control ... kinda the only way to provide decent opposition to the Aces?

And newbs going anywhere higher than AA even at the very end will disappoint me a lot. B->A now and A->AA at the end is the most I could accept. For the final boss I wouldn't like to see some overpowered being too. Either someone with brains or actually mind control (wait, that'd be brains too :heh:).

For mind control final: 1 or 2 Aces go(es) evil and the remaining one(s) with maybe some help deal(s) with the problem while newbs are going after the puppeteer fighting some less powerful enemies on their way.

A deus ex machina solves the heroes' problems for them, it isn't a costly if-all-else-fails that requires thousands of people to be sacrificed to work; not to mention that a deus ex machina is a sudden resolution that lacks foreshadowing, which is as far from the truth as it gets here - its usage has been mentioned numerous times as a painful and temporary solution to the Tome of the Night Sky problem.

Through Hayate's overwrite and the whole group's joint effort, the Arc-en-ciel became an actual way out of the dilemma, instead of a halfway-measure like it was before. And it didn't require our group to destroy an immortal program, which would be cheap and unattractive. Nanoha deals with the supremely powerful villain in a fresh and original manner - a big upside of the show, if you ask me.

But I agree that limiters shouldn’t be held back for the end. That way the aces couldn’t show off:
1. Their power increase
2. Their increased experience/Teamwork
3. Their triumph cards.
separately, which is needed to fully re-hype them. Especially if we include cleanup-mode Hayate…

If there's any justice in the world, Hayate going all out would be like a combination of Haseo from GU and Jehuty in ZoE2 on a tear. But I guess we'll have to wait and see.

There's plenty of things I'd be interested in seeing overall. (Damn it bring back Chrono!) But for this episode it'll be fun to see what Erio/Caro do with their time in the city.

But yeah, hopefully we'll get Hayate back in the action. Not that she doesn't sit in a seat well...

Mind control is one of the cheapest tricks in the book. U_U
Unless its something like psychological mind control, chances are pretty great I'll drop the series on the spot.

For me mind control is one of the crappiest writing-fu*ki-ups to be developed as story development. Besides the disgust of having one's favorite character practically destroyed/sacrifices for the sake of filling the writers empty brains~ it is virtually a plot sink-hole~ Most of the time the result is the cancellation of any of the other characters abilities and/or rendering any previous character development obsolete.. the series suddenly becomes a "Welcome to Lameville" show. The resulting story always sums up to the remaining characters defeating the stupid guy with 1mil IQ that wants to rule whateva~

Seeing her fire cross-fire at Tea I think in release mode even the recoil from that attack would be too devastating for the environment.

I'm hoping & expecting some new versions.
Also the mode 2 thing in Ep8.. I don't remember that in A's etc.
Wonder how far up in these tear levels she can go. I want to see Fate at tear 3 already. :D :p

Unfortunately the connection was messy today and I've only managed to watch less-than-half of broadcast from Wakayama...
I suppose that really doesn't count for watching Ep, so I'll hold my vote till I get to watch it on nico.
Anyway, here're what I could dig up from these mess;
- Another training and mock-battle's done, and all N/F/V thinks rookies achieved satisfactory mark.
They're told to go to Shari for Lv1 limiter release, and Vita says they'll be training the use of Mode 2 from onward.
Also they're given a day-off, I suppose, as connection got poo at this point.

- The way Subaru wakes Tia up...
OMG You really MUST NOT follow Hayate's trend!!1 :eyespin:

- Vice lends Tia the motorcycle in question, and he also cheers Tia up that she's really acting like "one of team" now.
It's also hinted that he used to be a mage (naturally, for he used to be in Armed-Force and under Signum).

- Fate acts really like a mom as she see Erio and Caro off... :heh:
(this part was chop-choped thanks to connection, so I missed fine chunk of this part.)

- Shari refers RH's full drive mode as... "Exceed Mode", as opposed to "Excelion Mode" in A's.
Is there any difference in it?

- OH NO, Rein goes NAKED!
(It was just to be examined as a device by Shari, but still... it was so sudden :heh: )

- Apparently Shari prepared them schedule paper... that suggesting to take lunch at somewhere "of good mood".
And she finishes with "I wish your success!"... well, just what kind of success you're expecting him to? :heh:

- It is revealed that Caro has other dragon than Fried, the Voltail(?). but it's more of the deity for whole Alzas clan, and Caro can summon it if necessary.
"The black gigantic dragon", as she says... and she emphasise that it's not something that should be summoned lightly.
It's also said that Caro raised Fried from egg; so, Fried was not summoned, contrary to what people have thought.

- Subaru feeds Tia a potato stick, "a-n" style... or so I think.
Again, I only had connection for sound alive at this moment.

- And just as everyone expected, there's some incident going on...
A Subway train got upside-downed by something like explosion, and Ginga arrives to help local polices(?) investigate the place.
She found a wrecked Type-1 Drone, and what appears to be a remain of "Human Capsule" (dunno if it's proper word).

- Our beloved Spagetti was also watching it on his usual screen, wondering whether it was TSAB mage that destroyed it or... he'd just hit a jackpot.
Then (connection bad again) a red-haired girl appears besides him, asking whether it's time for her or not (I guess. Even sounds were all messy at this point).
Btw, that red-haired girl's VA was, unmistakably, Tiwa Saitou (= Subaru)... and unlike the girl below, she was not in staff-roll.

- Scene moves onto even more new character, a blonde loli wearing rag, barely walking in sewer.
A chain is tied to her, and other end of it is tied to what appears to be a case of Relic.
(Her VA is Mizuhashi, though I really don't think she has something with Yuuno... the way she used her voice was remote from 9yrs old Yuuno)

- Erio hears something and rushes to back street only to find the unknown blonde loli and possible Relic, emerging from manhole.
Caro reports in to HQ, and everyone quickly exits their holiday-mode to duty-mode.
Hayate orders everyone that they're going to secure both Relic and the girl in safe.

- About the same time, Scaglietty calls for "his friends" (probably Lutecia and co.) and asks for help... that this time, it definitely is Relic.As for preview, I couldn't watch any of it... damn. :frustrated:
I'll post some more when I get back from work and watch nico, but as it's 2 a.m... it'll be long before that.

2) after the mock battle this morning nanoha fate chan and vita decides to pass them ~ (quite the split second decision) ~ so whats left is to take a break...

3) its lunchtime ~ nanoha and co are having lunch while listening to the news...some old guy talking about making the TSAB better (bla bla) ~ and vita making fun of the old sods :p

4) vice and tea moment! :p he fixes up a motorcycle and give it to tea...

5) meanwhile erio is getting fixed up by fate chan...awwww she babies him even though hes old enough to take care of himself...caro comes in and its offical that its a date :3

- Hayate and Wolken had been assigned for guard mission of Midget in past, since then they're on good term with her.
Vita even goes further to call her Grandma Midget.

- The Three Admirals are whose formed TSAB from it's early days to current form.
That means... unless they're insanely old, TSAB is not that old as a faction...

- Towards the end, it got me curious to see a loli-Fate look-a-like, dragging what I could discern Erio mentioning it to be a Relic case. A second Relic case is seen falling into the water in the sewer as well. Therefore, there were two Relics in question.

Could this be something related to Project F mentioned in earlier episodes, or how about those 2 empty containers seen back in Ep.5 (I think)?

Nonetheless, pretty much filler episode. It was good to see the team get a much needed break from training. And, Subaru just loves ice cream so much. @_@ No matter, I love it as much as her. :p

From what I heard, the red-head's name should be "Norae" or something. Also her seiyu is Saitou Chiwa, which may or may not hint of a link to Subaru.

Interesting. I did hear Rein II mention something about Signum and Vita, and if that is it, then it makes things more interesting. We've already seen Rein II unison with Hayate in the StrikerS manga, we might get to see it again soon since Hayate has apparently sortied with the Captains in episode 11's preview (as expected).

I see no reason to believe otherwise. They're ancient-looking, and high ranking, so they might indeed be the three legendary admirals that get mentioned every so often.

Did anyone else get the feeling that the appearance of the head honcho and the three admirals in that short news flash means we might see them again later in the series? I got some "tied into the plot" flags popping up as they appeared in the episode.

1) The red-haired girl that appears when Spaghetti is talking and seems to voice her displeasure - she had face markings reminiscent of Reinforce I. Possible links or similar kind of created being?

2) Regarding the other new character, the blonde girl: I'm not sure what to think of her ties to the story at the moment:
- a) ... possible that she is one of the girls from Spaghetti's test tubes? If so, it is strange how Spaghetti hasn't mentioned anything about one escaping, especially with a Relic case.
- b) ... if not one of Spaghetti's, then possible that she is from somewhere else, like a planet or city that discovered a Relic, and is trying to get it to TSAB?
- c) ... how did Erio sense her presence (Jedi-style)? Perhaps she herself is another remnant of Project Fate? And if so, do all Project Fate "created beings" have some kind of telepathy or sensory awareness?

3) Limiters upgraded: it's probably safe to say that we can expect to see some new Device forms for the forwards in episode 11, especially since it's pretty much confirmed that the shit will hit the fan next episode.

4) Nanoha's "Exceed Mode" - just a new name for Excelion Mode probably, since the silhouette of her Device was exactly the same as Excelion when Shari and Rein were talking about it.

That's what I'm thinking. Reinforce I was very unique in her design, but there's something about the facial markings on the red-haired girl that were throwing up lots of "similar character" flags when I was watching. There are no other characters in the series that have a similar design, from what I can remember.

That's what I'm thinking. Reinforce I was very unique in her design, but there's something about the facial markings on the red-haired girl that were throwing up lots of "similar character" flags when I was watching. There are no other characters in the series that have a similar design, from what I can remember.

Interesting. I did hear Rein II mention something about Signum and Vita, and if that is it, then it makes things more interesting. We've already seen Rein II unison with Hayate in the StrikerS manga, we might get to see it again soon since Hayate has apparently sortied with the Captains in episode 11's preview (as expected).

It'd be a nice twist. Remember that Zest is referred to as a "knight", which could mean that Zest is well versed in Velkan mage arts. (Either that or he walks around with a f*cking big sword.)

Imagine this: Spaghetti is an Ancient Velka user, and the red-haired girl is a Reinforce-style program for a device similar to the original Tome of the Night Sky. Also note that Carim, Verossa and Hayate are the only known remaining users of Ancient Velka, there is a possibility that there could be more.

Alright finally got to see this one. Yeah dealing with flv's isn't fun but I'm glad the episode is around. Though will switch it up later. Too bad that all the speculation of meeting up with Lutecia didn't turn out, but Erio's loli sense makes it a win anyways.

Gotta love Erio, does he see this as some kind of mission? Could hear him talking about 'cleared' so maybe that part of the mission has been cleared. Was cute seeing those two hanging around together, plus Erio didn't mind seeing Caro in that outfit.

Loved the wake up call from Subaru. The look on Teana's face was priceless. Definitely feeling the vibes with those two. They had some good times and wow Subaru really, really, really loves icecream.

So far there should be 1 more faction aside from Dr. orange and Lutecia's organization.The group who are smuggling the relic in the 1st place.Am wondering how do those smugglers gotten their hand on that many relic .This new girl might be sort of escort for the relic since it got stolen everytime and she must be able to fight since that drone and surrounding area got busted pretty bad.

Looking at Ruri post again.If they are really related to the number then nueve is not one of the 2 empty tubes from ep 06 since those were V and XII plus tube IX was filled with a girl with short hair :)

The aces appearance might not be necessarily caused by Lutecia.Remember the other relic that fell into the sewage?It might get caught with something and reacted causing some kinda of disaster ala the airport incident (or any incident shown in ep03 meeting).Considering regular TSAB staff were slowpokes looking at the airport case, Hayate and gang might be forced to deal with it again.

So Caro's real dragon summon is the the Black dragon afterall (this also solve why Lutecia's summon came out of her device and isn't permantly out like Fried (who is a real dragon :twitch:...). We get a camo of the 3 admirals, looks like they have not bite the dust as I thought....

Vice is hitting on too many girls, one of these days he'll get killed of Signum finds out :heh:. Erio how dare you smile at Caro in such a manner....

Signum jabbing Fate again is still gold :heh:, Vita taking jobs as combat instructor leave me with dread still.

While watching Tea driving the motorcycle, it makes me think WTH with Mid where a 16 year old can drive so well.....

Next ep.... Finally Hayate is in the frontlines hopefully we get to see some limiter release action in the next 2-3 eps.

Any chance seitai that she used is this "静態 (seitai)" instead so it could mean something like stationary/static holder? They never zoomed into the tubes in ep 06 so am not too sure but the capsules top/bottom seem to be thin cylinder instead of squarish like this one.

There will always be someone who is extremely talented or naturally strong or smart or whatever. However, a normal person, if they desire, can possibly train themselves up to whatever level they wish, provided they are willing to put in the hours of training.

Imagine it as something like a skinny bookworm training to bodybuilder proportions. It's possible, just not easy. Also, it may require special equipment; for physical training, it's weights and such, for mental training, it's textbooks, and for magical training, it's focusing devices.

Of course, again, this is based on No Evidence Whatsoever, so I could very well be completely wrong.

The way I see this is that she not only increases their magic strength by can actively concentrate where it's needed. Hazard a guess that Lutecia's bugs being Velka based work on the same principle. I wonder this is a hint of the blonde's power. Drones come, crack open life support pod, girl comes out and smashes them all instinctively while lugging 2 heavy Relic boxes.

Regarding the above discussion, could it be that she merges with the devices consciousness? It might explain the lack of Zafila since he doesn't have a device.
