with all the girls-n-guns gunslinger girls has, i thought id draw my own girl! anyways im hoping that other people would post their girls here too! i guess you can say im trying to conduct a contest? er yeah. i hope i didnt violate any forum rules *cough*

anyways here it is:

- first concept sketch, inked

for the 2nd sketch, im rethinking about the boots and cannon. im not quite sure how i should design them, esp the cannon. i want it to look really really technical n such. i really pushed my limit on it too. i mean there are such good artists out there *cough* anime-otaku *cough* uglypigs *cough* =)

so anyways, i want some good crits!!

things i already know:
- right arm is thicker than left (2nd sketch, BUT its gonna be covered by the cannon anyway)
- i suck with hair (1st sketch)
- right hand is funky looking, esp thumb (2nd)
- direction of force, meaning her scarf should be flying forward bc of the blast of force BUT i figured she's in space, hence the space suit, so things would float around...

i'll post again when i figure the boots, cannon, then the final inking... may be color

I think the sketches look great, the right hand looks fine and I really like the second one.

BUT... the proportions... her arm is as long as her leg, if not longer. Actually, I think it her arm length.. her arms seem too long.

haha i wanted to correct it but i was too lazy to. may be i can tweak a few things in photoshop. it was really hard not to make the arms look longer bc the legs are sort of fore-shortened since they almost point toward the viewers view. but yeah i'll shorten the arms a bit and shorten the distance between the elbow and the glove!

i fixed the arm problems and yeah. i did some tweaking to the right leg too. i tried posing myself in that pose. its all legal but uncomfortable. eh.

It seems to me the legs are either too short for the body or the arms are too long. either way, it seems she is in an elfish type of pose and the whole movement does not look right with that gun.

On an off topic note, I thought the girls in Gunslinger girl had a bit more classier outfits and more modern conventional weapons instead of futuristic cannons? She looks more like an outcast that has hijacked a weapon from a military base. But since this is a fan-art, I guess to each their own. :)

Other than that, I like your quality of your work and its done well.

haha, I like it, that gun is so huge.
