As far as we know, there're mass of Gadgets, entire Numbers, Lulu and Co, Regius's army w/ Einherjar, and last but not least, our RF6...
If ALL of them make appearance in this EP, I'm pretty sure it's going to be one hell of action.

Just a little something to whip up the mood. Heavy unfounded speculations, and major spoiler warning!Nanoha: It was supposed to be a normal security detail...

The screen flashes with images of Riot 6 going through the drill as they set up the perimeter defence of the Public Presentation. The Forwards are posted, everyone's talking to everyone else, everyone, is waiting.

Fate: We were closing in...

Flashes of Acous, Yuuno and Carim discussing their findings with different people. Each flash is changed with a sliding sound effect.

Hayate: We just wanted peace...

Flashes of Regius, his Aide, and the shadowy SEELE...

Nanoha: ... Datte.

Scagletti stands before a tray of numerous Relics, and even mroe numerous Type-3's and God Empress knows what else.

Doctor: MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA...!!!

Music kicks in with loud electric guitar.

Alto: Gadget units 700 and counting! (looks at Shari in alarm) They're all over the place!

The film snippets start off with Hayate looking at herself in the mirror, still in brown GAS uniform. It morphs to her in Knight Armor dodgin and rolling while firing several nuke-type spells.

Hayate: We will stand, and fight!

Fate fires the Trident Smasher, then we have another shot of her tanking a few missiles with her Round Shield.

Fate: (Voiceover) I will protect everyone!

Nanoha flicks Raising Heart Excelion into place and spoke to her charges firmly.

Nanoha: This is what we've trained for.

Type-1s and 2s tearing down Main Street, spraying laser fire at any thing that looked like TSAB material. Ginga and Subaru dodge the incoming fire as they race at the tidal wave. Zap to the roof, and Teana's doing her best to coordinate while launching anti-air tracers at the Type-3s. We then blink to Erio and Caro in a dark alley as the drone army marched past.

Erio: Caro stay close! I'm going in hard!

Fast paced action sequence with loud BGM accompanied by explosions, explosions and even more explosions! Numbers scramble; Fate tumbles out of the sky to slice the screen; Type-3s unleash a missile cloud, and Nanoha responds with Accel Shooter. We are then treated to a dazzling display of Nanoha's silhoutte in Exceed Mode watching the series of chain reactions.

Nanoha: Nuclear warheads?! :twitch:

The background music gets more and more dramatic, as the cut scenes whir into an indestinguishable frenzy, darting from Number to Forward to Ace to sideline characters and back again, until one giant ball of fire engulfs the Mid Childa skyline. The music cuts.

hayate nanoha vita and the forwards are going for a trip to the main HQ of the TSAB where an important meeting is being held (classified info stuff bla bla) ~

fate chan is left to take care of vivio and ZOMG we see lindy...and im glad to report that she is just a s beautiful as ever! :D fate chan then teaches vivio her complex family tree...vivio gets confused!

at the HQ nanoha says that people inside arent allowed to carry devices and so gives raising heart to subaru...(why do i have a bad feeling about this) ~

well not long later we see some action...yep Dr spaghetti attacks with his number army! it seems that their target is the ass hole commander...the HQ's defense system is hacked by quattro and the officials controling the screens inside are knocked out by smoke granades...and we see a new loli! :D YAR!!!

the cannon is fired (the one which nanoha blocked) and destroys the side of one of the towers...the ass hole commander is imformed and he tries to stay cool...meanwhile we see the drones prenetrating the magic barriers around the area and inside heavy iron gates are dropped...hayate says "so the got us this time" ~

A very good episode, though the main action is still ahead.


- TSAB officers/clerks standing at guard all have devices very similar to RH :D Shame on them for the cowardly reaction seeing the appearing drones :heh:

- Zest's magical circle and armor are golden :rolleyes: And I loved his reply to Vita's introduction :D

- Fate and Nanoha going down the elevator well (I think) - nice usage of magic there, also seems like they can't fly without the devices :rolleyes:

- Preview = awesome, NC

Isn't that the coolest damn thing you've seen a while? Vita plus Rein unison mode! White barrier jacket, blue eyes, and slightly lighter hair color!

The second half was surprising. I didn't expect a full scale assault on TSAB headquarters from Scagliette's minions. In the Ep.16 preview, I thought only Lutecia would be interfering. Well, I was wrong there.

Yeah, something about not using magical devices inside HQ doesn't seem like a good idea. But, seeing Fate and Nanoha "rappel".. er... slide down the elevator cable was pretty cool. It looks like Subaru, Tea, Erio, and Caro have a fight ahead of them against a couple of Scagliette's team.

I'm anxiously waiting for the next episode now

the TSAB fails to no ends from what i am seeing...if they are considered the law of the universe then they fail...i mean not allowing armed officers within the building is the worse rule i have ever heard...sure it would mean no assassination attempt but it doesnt mean that you can defend yourself if you are attacked...dumb fools T.T

oh im just loving the loli with ze eye patch! :D she is ass kicking with her exploading daggers! :D

and for zest to be in unison with agito...now that was unexpected O.O as An Hero in Disguise noted their introduction was utter spleen splitting :heh:

Okay, so I went back to check on the Music thread, and it seems that the news about the 2nd Op came TWO weeks after the 2nd Ed.

So the new prediction would most likely be 18, seeing how 17 is the Continuation of 16.

Well, Zest is an OVER 9000 S RANK Super Saiyan Ancient Belka Spear-Knight after all...His unison comes perfect with GOLD HAIR!

And yes, he IS over S rank, before unison. Though what specific rank is unknown.

Vice was apparently a former ranged-magic ace...but he claims his talent is half of hers, so we don't know how much he's being humble and whatnot.

As for what the Numbers are doing...

I : Playing the organ of chaos while the overexcited doctor watches.
III : Together with XII kicking ass outside.
IV : Support/Illusion via Silver Curtain.
V : Playing with explosive daggers inside the HQ.
VI : Using stealth sneak attacks with bombs inside the HQ.
IX : Kicking (( literally )) Subaru's face.
X : Heavy Barrelling from outside.
XI : With IX together.
XII : With III.

I'm just saying, don't be too quick to lump them together, the heads behind the different divisions aren't all the same. The least there's a plan B which isn't something formal.

Seems like Zest and Agito while able to do the unison, it was putting a strain on Agito. So in a long term fight I might think Vita/Rein have the edge. Though they can't really take too long with the situation as it is.

Pretty bad time right now. Fate, Nanoha, Signum, and Hayate are all stuck without their devices. Subaru is safe-guarding Nanoha, while Vita had Hayate and Signum, but passed it off to Teana. My only question then is who is holding onto Fate? Probably Erio or Caro, but I'm not sure. At least we know Nanoha will get hers back via preview.

Hayate, Fate and Signum stays behind for now and enters the place at next early morning.

- It seems that connection went bad at this point, scrambling whole visual and sounds;
Nanoha and Forwards are on heliport, preparing to board on SR... but Vivio appears on heliport for some reason.
It was the first time Nanoha's going out at night for duty, so Vivio couldn't help herself worrying her...
Nanoha promises that she will return when it's done, and make her her favorite caramel-milk.

- On SR, Forwards chats about Vivio's so attached to Nanoha, which Nanoha is rather suprised that she thinks she's raising her rather strictly.
Caro tells her that Vivio knows she really is kind person, which Rein takes over that Nanoha should consider adopting her for real.
Nanoha, however, insists that she's still looking for a family whose willing to accept her, and hopefully Vivio will accept it as well.
Erio insists that it's difficult for her to "understand" by now, which all Forwards agrees...
Anyway, Nanoha is willing to take care of her until such family will finally be found someday, and will try to persuade her when the day comes too.

- In N&F's bedroom, Fate receives a private call from her mom, the MILFLindy.
She tells her that she's going to attend the Public Presentation tommorow, which according to Fate, should be possible because not many other Navy people are planned to be in there.
Lindy insists that she wants to meet her daughter not via-screen for long time, and she wants to meet Vivio too, but as Fate will be on security duty tommorow and Vivio will be staying in RF6 base... well, it's too bad for her :heh:

- Vivio then notices on two photos sits on bedside, one being Testarossa family and other Harlaown family, and asks her about Fate having two mother too.
Fate tells her that Precea mama gave her her life, and Lindy mama raised her... that both are her precious mother.
Other thank that, I think it was the first time we got to see Chrono's twin children... looks like both of them have Amy's brown hair.

- At the Ground Center, Teana visits Vice staying inside Storm Rider to deliver tea; looks like RF6 are positioned at outskirt of GC, so they're on rather low alert and able to take turn to have rest.
Teana first appologizes to Vice, for she had some investigation of Vice's past for curiosity... then she tells him what she's learnt.
Vice was, an Ace mage several years ago, that although his magic-power capacity is only half of that of Teana, he was a very able long-range marksman/sniper.
He retorts that past is past and he's now RF6's pilot, and that he has nothing to tell to her about that, and she shouldn't be wasting her time on such unnecesary thing.
After Teana leaves the scene, he again says it's a thing of past... which Storm Rider agrees and replies "I think so".
So... SR used to be his "device", and... from "several years ago", he could possibily relates to Tiida's incident?

- Back to Forward Stars, Nanoha tells Subaru that she's going inside building for indoor security she's been tasked to, and hands her RH because indoor securities are not allowed to carry their device.
She also asks Forwards to take device from Fate too... our Aces are no armed at this point.

- 3 hours until the Presentation starts, and according to newscaster's explaination, top peoples are gathered from many administrated-worlds including Midchilda, to discuss about future direction Ground Army is going to take.
This event has always been with heated debates, and this one is expected to be especially hot with Einherjar, Army's surface-defence weapon, is on topic.

- As Vita, Erio and Caro patrols around the perimeter, Vita discusses with Nanoha about "who"'s gonna start a trouble.
If the destruction is going to happen today, internal coup d'etat is not likely from Rossa's inspection report... so it's most likely terrorism from outside.
However, Vita thinks, that if Scaglietti intends to attack GC, why he's gonna choose to do so... because he's not going to gain anything from that.
Nanoha thinks that as a weapon manufucturer, he could possibily do that to prove his weapons' performance so that many will buy his weapons.
Vita objects that even if that's his intention, GC is too risky as a target.
They concludes that, they have respectable and trustworthy superior, so follow her order and they'll be fine.

- 4 hours has passed from begining of the event, and it's closing to end by now.
Ginga is off to northern entrance to report-in, but all other Forwards are on their place.

- Scene moves to Zest and Agito, waiting for the even to happen in mid-air.
Agito is obviously concerned about Lutecia who's not with them for different objective.
Zest tells her that if she's so cocerned about Lutecia, then just go and help her... which Agito objects that Lutecia got her summons but Zest is alone so she's more concerned about him.
Apparently, Zest's goal is to reach Regius... I don't know what he intends to do when they come face to face, but clearly it's not going to be something peaceful.

- At Spagetti's lab, Uno is taking the role of operator, Tre and Quattro reports her that everyone's ready to go.
Spagetti chuckles maniacally, that as a scientist and a technician, it's exciting to be someone that changes the history... and his sponsors will see it too.
Then he gives out the order of... GO!

- Lutecia releases restriction of her device, and Quattro uses her IS to crack and neutralize GC's computer? systems and networks.
According to what she said, Silver Curtain involves cotroling of electron to produce illusions or other effects.
Just as GC's command room went all chaotic, Sei sneaks into there and drops toxic-gas grenade, effectively takes control of the room.

- In GC's reactor room, Cinque uses her IS, "Ramble Detonator" and takes down the reactor, nullifying the strong force-field GC has.
As the field went down, Lutecia uses her long range teleport to deploy the horde of Drones directly to GC's inner perimator.
Deici shoots "aerosol shell" inside CG's structure and quickly brings down most of unprotected personnels.

- Regius got the report of invasion, and gives order of captureing all intruders ASAP, expressing his confidence to adamant fortification of GC building.
However, Quattro eavesdrop it and says they do not need to go inside, for they can neutralize it by merely surrounding it.
By her order, Drones starts sorrounding GC with their AMF at full-power... engulfed in AMF, entire GC's function dies in quite short time.
Locked inside and under AMF, Hayate bitterly admits that enemy has upper hand and she's in serious mess.

- Outside of AMF, Tre tells Sette it's her first real fight, and asks her if she's alright.
Sette tells back that she's born later than her sisters, so she's fine.
(Probably she meant to say that as she was born late, she incorpolates data from her elder sisters too)
Sette's IS sounded something like "Slaughter Arms", and appears to be twin large boomerang... middle-range anti-personnel type?
With their IS activated, Tre and Sette charges into a horde of approaching aereal mages... and starts kicking crap out of them with ease.
Even if they're cannon-fodders, isn't it a bit... eh? :heh:

- Forwards dress up their BJ with datas analyzed by Rein, giving them protection against paralysis-gus filling inside GC.
Just as they're going into GC to save Aces, Zest and Agito makes their move and approaches GC... Zest is identified as an over S rank mage :twitch:
Vita gives Teana Hayate and Signum's devices she had and tells her to deliver them to their master... then she goes up into air to intercept Zest.

- Vita and Rein's unison-in!

- Locked inside lobby with all the way out sealed, Nanoha and Fate chose to take a slightly dangerous path; going down elevator shaft.
According to Nanoha, Forwards are already told where to join up in case of emergency; at underground lotary hall.

- On the sky, Rein warns Zest for some law crap and will attack them if they go further.
However, Vita attacks them just as she warns them :rolleyes:
Zest and Agito unisons as well, and they introduce each other, "knight style", as they enter their fight.
...am I the only one that noticed Zest's magic color is, indeed, yellow?

- At underground, Forwards are hurrying toward the join-up point... but Nove and Wendy umbushes them.
Caught by suprise, both literally and by her appearance & device, Subaru got a hard kick from Nove and crashes into wall.
Wendy reminds Nove that their mission that they're supposed to capture three targets alive, which Nove insists that although such an old model, Type-0 wouldn't die so easily.
Three... if they meant for 3 from Forwards, then who's going to be left out?

- Seeing that situation is under control around GC, Uno asks Lutecia to move to RF6 base to retrieve unidentified Relic and "Seioh no Utsuwa".
RF6 base goes full alert by approaching attackers, and ED kicks in...Preview:- Subaru's monologue heavily empasise on past tense; "What they wanted to protect and what they had to protect".
On the other hand, Caro's monologue says "What is destroyed and what is gone"...

- Short shot shows Subaru kamikaze-ing with her body full of injury and Caro crying out loud for something...
I guess no one would be disagreeing with me that RF6 is going to be defeated, to some extent.

True enough that the policy of taking devices has pretty much done its job. Effectively eliminating even for a portion of the situation Hayate, Nanoha, Fate and Signum. That's taking out quite a chunk of the powerful forces they can throw out there. Just hope we won't get something like an injury knocking them out for a few episodes.

From the way Nove and Wendy talked about that, I think it's given that Subaru is one of three.

I really do not think they're refering to her device... because Nove pulled out Type-0 thing when she was reminded to capture them alive.

Well on the capture list I think we've got plenty of targets. Clearly they are going after Vivio who is sparcely protected with everything pretty much riding on Zafira to handle things.

With Erio and Fate connected to Project F they are probably the best couple to go after. Now I'm looking after 3 targets at that meeting since Vivio is in another location so the numbers surrounding the forwards aren't there for Vivio. We seem to be close to a revelation about Subaru so she could very well be a target. A number using device very similar to her own frankly is suspicious to me.

Caro is possible since summoning dragons and her skill level wouldn't be bad to bring in. Though I'm counting on the preview with her showing a after everything is said and done kind've despair look so I think she's relatively safe. Teana while having some issues earlier doesn't seem to have that kind've background that would warrant her being a target.

About Teana's brother, only thing I remember about his superior was some very rude statements made. Insulting his style of magic and that kind've thing.

We already know which of the 4 they don't want. During episode 5, the scene where Spaghetti is speaking about the kids data, and refering to them as "items of great interest for my research", the pictures he's looking at during that quote are Subaru, Caro & Nanoha. Then he switches to video of Fate and Erio and starts ranting about "the remnants of Project F". That means, he's specifically indicated he wants to research on everyone EXCEPT TIA.

I don't believe, unless i missed it, that the numbers were looking for any 3 particular targets, just the first 3 they can caputre. Vivio is a special case as shes not on the battle field and shes suppose to be the key material so she'll be captured plus an additional 3^^. So my bet for who will be nabbed are Erio and Subaro (they may want 3 but sometimes you can't always get what you want). I would believe Fate and Nanoha are safe as long as they get their devices back. There just to strong to be caught. Hayate isn't on the list as she wasn't mentioned by Speg or shown on the screens (plus shes just to uber to) Caro is shown griefing in priview so shes must survive, and Tea I don't believe would be a target but not sure. Next week can't come fast enough^^

We've also see Nanoha and Fate Device in hand, so I doubt that Subaru, who IIRC is carrying the RH and Bardiche, will be captured. From the glimpses of Caro's distress, I figure that Erio either gets injured, or captured, or both, and that maybe we get to see the terrible power she apparently posses, that made her tribe cast her out. Wasn't there something about a black dragon mentioned? I do figure that Vivio will end up being taken.

Checked episode 5 again- Right at the beginning Caro has the flashback of when she was exiled from her village- the two elders state that she commands the "Silver Flight Dragon", and if protected by the "Black Flame Dragon". Which we haven't seen yet, but I figure when it does show up, it'll be "Duck, and Cover!".

All in all, I expect
that the Numbers will find their opponents to be more than a match on a personal level, after an initial advantage. I do figure that the raid on Mobile 6's HQ will suceed, and while I expect Zafira to give a good accounting of himself ( I certainly hope so), unless Zafira teleports to a secure location, I'm afraid Vivio will be snatched. It might be a bit early for the Tower to fall yet though, since there's another 10 episodes to go. I wouldn't be surprised at all to find Lutecia, Agito and Zest joining forces with MF 6 before the end, since I expect that whatever Lutecia and Zest are looking for, will end up in Scaglietti's hands.

Now that sounds like fun :). We'll have numbers running for their lives pretty quickly. Besides if Erio is going to get hurt he might as well do it in a flashy manner that will result in the bringing forth of massive destruction.

Next week should be fun though. Pretty certain we'll see the rest of the mode 2's (including the expected Strada form) and have some good fighting. It's goign to be pretty chaotic with the Aces+Signum rushing to get their devices and join the fight. Might even need Carim for her limiter release on Hayate if it's that desperate. Throw in an expected battle to capture Vivio with probably Zafira getting into it, should be more than fun.

RF6 noted 2 energy reaction heading in their direction. It is a bit unlikely for it to be Lutecia (( since she just decided to head there at the very final moments of the episode when 2 energy sources were already noted. )). Zest is busy with Vita, so it's either...

Lutecia + 1 Number or 2 Numbers + Lutecia who is just starting to move out.

Considering that an average combat Number seem to be around A~AA in rank (( though if III and XII were fighting aerial mages in the explosion...then AAA wouldn't be too far fetched, I suppose. )), it seems about right, considering that Zafira's Vivio's final defense line. Even if it's not a combat Number, Lutecia's Garyuu is somewhat A-rankish too, and Lutecia already released her device's limiters, so who knows what kind of new tricks or summons she could dash out.

Yeah this should be pretty interesting. Even having 1 number + Lutecia who can bring out Garyuu or more drones would probably be enough. Really all that's stopping them from Vivio is Zafira and Shamal who would still be out there. Maybe she can stick her hands through a few chests to slow them down :).

Not likely. I think Fate's too powerful to apprehend without her being knocked out, which is hard enough to do. My honest guess is that they're trying to take Vivio, Erio and "Type-Zero", which I'm positive is Subaru herself.

My Zafira senses are tingling and its telling me that Zafira is going to get an awesome scene when he fights. Hmmm, in my opinion Vivio might not get captured within this episode but within later episodes something like that would have to happen.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I personally like this theory. The only difficulty in it is how a (supposed) cyborg can give birth to 2 (apparently) healthy girls, IS included. If I'm not wrong, the older generations of Sentoukijin don't have reproductive abilities, no?

Instead I would suggest that Mrs Nakajima was actually an Artificial Human (or something similar, perhaps even Nanohaverse's own Android 18?) who was created with a IS. Perhaps the original plan behind the Sentoukijin was to create powerful magi with an additional inherent ability (IS) to improve their combat prowess. But due to expenses and their product rebelling (?), the developer(s) (the increasingly creepy and seemingly insane Doktor?) changed the idea to developing cyborgs who may be cheaper to create and possibly easier to control (?). Aka true Sentoukijins, if we are to take the term literally.

Then these fine ladies were sent to erase the "mistake". Ensue grief and a hate-filled Nakajima family hell-bent on revenge.

As to Genya's role in all this, I dare say he may be the cause of the product's rebellion. Perhaps something as old-fashioned as "love" ;).

From what I see, Zafira is pretty much the "Defender" amongst the Wolkenritter (as far as the shown Belkan style is concerned anyway). He's not called the "Beast of the Shield" for nothing, I believe?

Well, we need to keep in mind that we know nothing of a Sentoukijin's reproductive capability, especially since there's clearly a generation gap between the current Numbers and if she was one, Subaru/Ginga's mom. And not forget that Sentoukijins are NOT androids, they're humans who are mechanized to a certain degree, but clearly not robots with a human appearance. So far, we know that the mechanization involves tampering with sight to give the typical Robocop/Terminator sight-system for X, and also what looks like artificial arms for I. For all we know, the reproductive system is left...untouched. I can imagine the creepy Doctor doing so either.

And well, the tear from Subaru... her mother died in the Sentoukijin incident. What if Nove somehow reveals something like say...

"Man, you're weak as hell, Type-0. The one before you was much more fun to deal with, until I snapped her neck in half. The one who was using a pair of those knuckles you're wearing."

Regarding, Zest's "aura", it seems to me that it's more like flame-yellow+orange, or even metallic golden, compared to Fate and Erio's pure yellow. And IIRC, he is the first to have a magical aura that doesn't have a uniform hue.

It'll be fun if his opponent turns to be Hayate eventually. The Silver Queen of the Night Sky vs the Golden Knight :D.

Just watched it ... however it ends, it would seem that if the TSAB ever got Scarlietti alive (they'd get him, his fate's sealed as soon as he became chief villain in MGLN StrikerS, but alive or dead is unknown), before they interrogate him for the crimes he did they should be interrogating him as to where he learned his tactics and offer him a probation or something if he agrees to work as Instructor in the Command School. He clearly knows more tactics than most in the TSAB...

The first two times you can defend the TSAB by saying they were suckered by unknown elements, but THIS time there's no excuse. They already know about the the Illusionist, the Diver and the Summoner - those three are the only ones that can be true surprise factors due to unusual abilities.

They already know from the Gunner that their enemy can produce Artificial Lifeforms capable of S-rank shoots, which means at least AAA equivalent. How hard is it to imagine that they may have a few melee types with simila power as well?

In short, the nature of the entire enemy composition should be predictable (Zest is powerful, but he's basically of the normal mold as far as we can see). The security plan clearly was a conventional one that made no effort to counter the enemy. Why are they even using a Security-oriented Plan when with that kind of assets at the enemy's hands, they should be planning for a Defense-oriented plan? Why didn't anybody try to insert some forcefields around critical points like the reactor. That should slow down that Divergirl (who probably brought the #5 who used her Detonator attack. as well as installing cameras everywhere).

Scarlietti deserves to win this round. He displayed Superior Operational Art to bring his force of massive strength into optimum positions inside and out and achieved complete surprise. Even if surprise had somehow been lost, he has a very competitive force that might be able to win the hard way:
1 S+ to SS- Zest (might even be full SS fused with Agito)
4 AAA to S melee fighters (maybe more, but I don't think so)
1 short range AAA to S gunner
1 long range AAA to S gunner
1 AAA-S supporter (diver)
1 AAA-S electronic warfare operator (Illusionist)
God knows how many gadgets

The force every TSAB commander only gets to dream about. Scarlieti clearly has the advantage in Correlation of Forces and Troop Control. How can he lose... he complies with all the Objective Laws of Armed Combat (and his enemies don't). Go, Scarlietti, go!

Also type 0 most likely had the least modification done to her body (or none even) being the prototype....
Uno is similar in a way since she collect data from her sisters so in the 1st place she might not had much done to her body.(speculation)

I won't be very surprised if he is the apparent only one left among the top brass of the TSAB, which will of course be reduced to smothering ashes and rubble. And he could very well be the one who'll give the Permanent Limiter Release, for the final, epic battle.

You may have a point there.
Zest hates Scaglietti, so whatever he does, he does it either for his own sake, or for Lutecia's.
And he'll follow Scaglietti's plans only if there's a Relic involved.
So, either his real objective is a Relic that might be in GC (which would be stupid, but Regius loves stupid decisions), or Lutecia is interested in Vivio, and he acts as a decoy.

In fact, there are so many different forces in presence, each having their own agenda, it makes me dizzy.
I suppose we'll understand most of it in September...

When we talk about "good" tactics in anime, we tend to speak in relative terms rather than Absolute. In comparison to the TSAB's performance so far, it is hard to deny Scarlietti is a tactical genius.

Since the devices thing was part of a Security Measure, it is part of tactics, which stank.

Further, the ability to take the Political Situation into account and to your advantage is part of Strategy. It was how North Vietnam ultimately got its own way over the United States. So rather than damn Scarlietti for it, he should be praised for taking those factors into account.

But let's say his read of the Political Situation was somehow wrong. Given the security setup, It is hard to see the Numbers with Deep Diver being discovered early unless they make a goof.

Let's first tally the forces given the unrealistic assumption they had their limiters off. Certain to be there are Kido Rokka, so that's
1 SS area bombardment (Hayate), 1 S+ long range gunner (Nanoha), 1 S+ general purpose (Fate), 1 S- melee (Signum), 1 S- to S+ (Vita + Rein), 4 forwards

The wimps that make up the TSAB forces are useless. Reinforcements will take hours to arrive, as usual. I see Carim's there (S-SS?), but I doubt an important person like her will be allowed to fight even if she wants to. There's her assistant Schach (A-AAA), who looks like some kind of transport type - a possibility there if she has fair melee abilities . Lindy is most likely AAA-S, but I'm not even sure if she's there and she doesn't look like the combat type, and as the Director she'd be forced off the scene along with Carim anyway. Chrono again I'm not even sure if he's there, but he's only AAA+, maybe S-*. The rest are useless.

*I know many people here think he is stronger, but I disagree. Nanoha and Fate are clearly stated to have more energy than him at a much younger age, and he's consistently described as a hard-worker type. Which means his known AAA+ combat coefficient at ~14 is mostly made of Skill, rather than Talent - he's mostly maxed out and would be lucky to advance another half rank in his last years of puberty, and even if he somehow does advance, it is going to be a Skill-based coefficient, and the Skill-Power imbalance will cause him problems in dealing with a less-skilled but more powerful opponent - see for example Chrono's Stinger Blade Execution Shift against Vita and Zafira; it was well executed but left him panting and it is doubtful he could have held on alone much longer.

So, the matchup. Obviously, Scarlietti would have to redeploy. For one thing, they are free to try again anytime, and they almost certainly have enough coefficent to escape. Scarlietti would probably choose that, or do a short delay and see if Lutecia can pull an Operational Maneuver and nab Vivio. But let's say they choose to stand and fight.

Zest is engaged with Vita, one of the two all-purpose types in the TSAB setup. Let him be. Scarlietti's control on him isn't that strong so you minimize the number of orders you give him, and his deployment against Vita+Rein weakens Hayate as well because she's a poor aimer without help from either GCI (and GCI's probably out thanks to #4) or Rein.*

*Scarlietti might know this considering how his side was intercepting a lot of comms during Ep12. It is highly possible he knows about the 6th Mobile Section sending Hayate targeting data.

In fact, if Scarlietti manages the Troop Control problem right, she might be almost neutralized. Two friendlies, three enemies without even fighting one of them. At least even Correlation of Forces there in a Meeting Engagement. Go, Zest, go. If things start to go really well, see if Zest can be persuaded to release Agito for some maneuver work.

Depending on how good the #11 Shield Guy is, he can be paired against Nanoha (if his shield's good enough) - she has a useful attack ability as well with those little balls. Or pair Nanoha up against #3 with her Ride Impulse - that should seal off Nanoha's long range shot advantage since it'd be to aim at Ride Impulse.

Signum and Fate should be engaged by any of the melees that are left. We've got 3 (or 11, whoever's left) and 7. Might be also interesting to try #5 with her chains - probably send 5 in this case at Signum, for Fate's abilities are more balanced. That leaves me one to throw at someone like Chrono or Schach.

Now, we've still got 10. 10 is to position herself in a good sniper's location to take opportunity fire, with priority of fires on Nanoha (Hayate can come later because it is easier to neutralize a area bombarder using melee hug-belt tactics, and area bombardment is likely to cause less damage to a point target like my Numbers with a near miss).

Now, 4 and 6 are the guys to win the battle for Scarlietti here. 4 is to use electronic warfare against the aces. Get them to throw shots at false targets like in the Ep11-12 battle and the like - maybe even cause a fratricide. It'd be much easier this with so much of the enemy's surveillance and troop control nets down - they are more or less on their own, and even with the surveillance it took long enough to discriminate between the reals and the fakes last time. That would put them on the wrong side of the energy curves.

6 might look useless, but her diving ability can allow her to get the Relics, which is what the doctor kind of wanted anyway. She might even be able to just grab a target like Erio while they are fighting the Gadget drones Scarlietti redeployed to delay them. She can also be used defensively, dragging my guys out of the way for quick breaks and the like Diver. That puts me on the Right Side of the Power Curve.

Overall, depending on the exact combat coefficient of the Numbers, my chances may be as good as 50% even if I go for this rather than do the smart thing and disengage after grabbing some of what I need. Even if Chrono or Schach comes in, Scarlietti has a fair shot, and it is hard to see a scenario in which he won't be able to disengage with everyone intact given the level of tactics the TSAB had shown so far.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Regius being used as a tool to discredit RF6. The Numbers keep the Forwards occupied, their HQ gets raided, and then Regius
orders the Einherjar deployed (the conference was about the Einherjar debut,
wasn't it?) , the Numbers put up some token resistance, and retreat. We don't
know what the "Einherjar" are, but I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't a
connection to the Relics, or Jewel Seeds, which could explain why Zest is targeting
Regius. This could lead the the trope of the new super weapon being hijacked by the bad guys, after Regius manages to get RF6 shut down.


Back at the end of Ep 5, where Scaglietti is gloating over all the wonderful new research material that's shown up, he first focuses on Nanoha, Caro, and Subaru, and then mentions
that also the living breathing remnants of Project F (Fate and Erio) have shown up. So, at the time at least, he's interested in Nanoha, Caro, and Subaru, but apparently not because
they are known to be artificial mages themselves (Caro did grow up in a village, but seems to have been exiled, and turned over to the TSAB, where Fate took up guardianship). My
thinking is, "type 0" denotes somebody to be considered as a template for artificial mages.

I just recalled a pertinent plot point from Mai Otome- namely, we know Mama Nakajima is dead, but we don't know if there is a body in
her grave, or how much genetic/organic material would be required for an artificial mage. A nasty shock if the Number with the Revolver roller blades is in fact a clone of Nakajim Mama. Though,
didn't she also have bluish hair? Have we seen a picture of her?

Finally watched ep16. Good stuff, but it just a start, real thing will come next.

It doesn't seem next ep will be the Zafira's time to shine. Lutecia is not just going after Vivio, but also those Lost Logia in RF6 possession. As the only main combat member left, I doubt he is able to protect both given the possibility that Lutecia doesn't seem come alone. And I have the feeling that another Lost Logia Vivio brought is what Lutecia looking for and she will get in next ep.

It's pure speculation though.

Anyway, I find myself liking Agito more and more after each EP.
Her first appearance was... let's just say, meh :rolleyes:, but after she's been developed as character she's more sympathizable, just like how Arf was in season 1.

There's also the possibility that Zest doesn't' want Agito to choose him as her particular Lord/Master, since that would mean living like hoodlums together for the rest of their lives. Zest feels mildly tsundere-ish (( do what you want, I'm fine alone but actually I'm also wishing for your best )) so, it may be possible that he wants things between them to stay no-strings-attached so that Agito won't regret it.

Well, unless Vita turns out to be Zest's permanent rival, we'll probably get to see Agito complaining at Rein for "hopping around" meisters until it comes down to the actual Meister.
