...Nana (http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=4143) and/or Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou (http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=199)

I just love these two more serious and realistic shows. The romance, the relationships between the characters, the humour and the more sad events. Canīt help but rewatch and reread these two over again.

I guess if Iīd sum it up it would be slice of life with a more serious story that doesnīt forget itīs romance and more comedic moments with fun cute~ faces. Another big plus would be if the animation is similar. :)

Anyone that can, or want, to recommend something similar?

Hachimitsu to Clover (http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=2835) has a high maturity level, is slice-of-life, with romantic subplots, and has some comedy as well.
Nodame Cantabile (http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=4691) - I still haven't finished it, but its quite good, if a little light on the romance.
Lovely Complex (http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=5053) is very good, though I haven't seen the two most recent fansubs, because I'm kind of scared that its moving in an annoying direction. Anyways it's very heavy on the comedy, but does have a serious backbone to it.

Iīve seen the first two ones, theyīre both really good but Lovely Complex is a show Iīve missed. Iīll be sure to give it a try, thank you. :)

Ah, it doesnīt have to be anime only. If thereīs some story that hasnīt been animated that doesnīt hurt. Iīd love to pick up a new manga to start reading.

Paradise Kiss (http://anidb.info/a3145) is another romance story, with extravagant characters and colors.
Bokura ga Ita (http://anidb.info/a4441) has a mix of funny moments and introspection that reminded me of Kare Kano.

Honey and Clover, Kare Kano, Nodame Cantabile and Lovely Complex were already mentioned. I haven't seen Nana myself.

Those were all the romance stories that stand above the crowd that I know of.

If you're willing to accept more comedy than romance, in an anime that still has lots of serious thoughts and thinking especially in its second part, you can look at Ouran Koukou Host Club (http://anidb.info/a4148).

Iīve seen Ouran and Iīll never forget that one first episode, donīt know how to explain it. Just that it made me laugh, a lot. Kind of like the scenes in that One Piece movie were the Straw Hat pirates helps out with the theatre performance and ultimately everything goes wrong at the same time. :heh:

Paradise Kiss and Bokura ga Ita on the other hand are two shows I havenīt seen yet so Iīll be sure to check them out.

I speeded through up to episode 16 of Lovely Complex this weekend, the faces arenīt as cute as they are in Kare Kano and Nana but I still like it. :D

For a funny yet realistic romantic comedy, I am really supprised no one seems to have mentioned REC yet. This is a story about a 20-something "salaryman" who is thrown together with an aspiring young female seiyū, and the problems they go through. Both funny and very romantic at the same time, it's very short but still one of my favorites. :)
