It was a cry/laugh of utter despair and of crushed hopes and dreams and of half-insanity. Plus, the pain and ecstasy of my hopes for StrikerS's being crushed and shattered (well, what's left of it) and the thought that I should go into the show and nuke them all. Feels like Keiichi, I need a bat.

It's this weird feeling of hopelessness that accompanies the destruction of a hope of season 4 with Jail as the main villain again.

Personally, I don't know what's crushed either: My sanity, the good mood after waking up in the morning, or respect.

Now where do i start...
If someone seriously thought that the aces where going to be in any danger i would have died laughing. As expected the final failed to deliver the explosive content that some of us (no me) were hoping. Yep as some has guessed Tea too vice's motorbike for a spin but seriously they could have made it less obvious ~ along with subaru's wing road stunt...

and WTF! she finally obtained the powers of god and yet subaru only used ginga's glove to smash down a wall...atleast show some skills while duel wielding >.> (seriously disappointed with this one).

Whats more erio came from nowhere to sweep fate chan of her feet...screw that! no one touches fate chan! T_T

I guess some good that came out of this was seeing agito's unison with signum but with powers like that i seriously cant think why the team had a hard time taking out the cradle. Why didnt hayate just nuke the cradle out of the sky rather than going through all the crap that they did? Being the meister of the legendary tome she sure was being modest with her powers.

But i guess the thing that i was most disappointed about with this ep is that...no one died! WTH! i was expecting vita at least to kick the bucket after what? getting stabbed through the chest/lungs/heart wasnt enough to kill her? Im surprised that she made it this far but comeon...even if you dont kill her off at least make her disabled and bed ridden (no hammering down enemies with useless gound troops behind her telling her that there is no use - those bastards hahahaha!)

And fate chan will always be the sensible one :rolleyes: goddam though...why didnt they animate the last mock battle? zomg its not like your usual battles as the aces and stars are going at each other with full force...this was a major disappointment to see potential being flushed like that...

but i guess this is the nanoha thing where everyone lives happily ever after...not a bad thing but being too perfect seems farfetched...

Obviously this is the Mahou Shoujo genes taking over cause with the exception of the senior Numbers, those aren't even prision... From the looks of the screenshots.

And the 'just following orders' stun shouldn't hold in court either, they did it willingly and knowingly.

And before you bring up Fate and season 1, remember that Fate had a good 'lawyer' and that she didn't attack several military bases.

Lutecia and Agito are there on their own decision, although it will be short stay because they have being-mind-controled and other shit that backs them up.
Agito in particular didn't really have to be there, according to Wendy.

Regardless, the thought of Jail actually cooperating and getting rehab at an isolation center is... strange, even more so when Ginga's the one who's in charge of getting them familiar with society it seems.

You know, watching the Lightning gives a strange feeling of contradiction. X_X

The way their story came about in StrikerS seems to show a sense of independence, growing out from their painful past, growing on their own, to not need to rely on Fate, and carve their own future.

However, it really did not feel that way. There's holes in their character development progression, even taking SS02 and the manga into account.

Ah the fleet, well it did do something. Just blasting the ship into oblivion and no not even a big Chrono moment of ordering to open fire, they just blasted it and boom that's the end.

Wow I didn't think this episode could be so anti-climatic. I mean Vita is moving around again fairly well and Eisen is magically restored without any issues. Well I guess the whole point of Hayate showing up was to bring that back since she got completely shafted. There wasn't even a big fight just a minor rescue.

Oh poor Chrono. One of the greatest victims of StrikerS. Married out of the blue and kept completely out of things even to the end. His biggest moment was drinking tea with Carim, Hayate, and Acous.

Who would've guessed ErioxFate would've gotten more stuff behind it than anything ErioxLutecia related. Just seemed silly to have him saving her from rubble but oh well.

And yes Yuuno is alive. All we get is him, Nanoha, and Arf (yes she lives) peaking on Vivio's class. Must be some weird dynamics going on there. Not sure what excuse they had for him being there unless he gets regulated to school librarian.

Otherwise, I didn't feel any real attachment to the episode.
Regardless, the thought of Jail actually cooperating and getting rehab at an isolation center is... strange, even more so when Ginga's the one who's in charge of getting them familiar with society it seems.
Using Ginga to help those numbers with integration makes sense since she fought alongside them briefly. They are likely developed some kind of bond with her through shared experiences, which is more than can be said of any other TSAB member (3 and 7 respect Fate but they are in solitary confinement and presumably Fate is busy elsewhere).

The TSAB doesn't seem to use its manpower very efficiently. Just look at Alto and Vice. From what we've seen, Alto is the better combat pilot yet she was used as an easily replaced communications officer. Judging from episode 26, Vice is clearly the best sniper in the unit but instead of giving him psychological counseling, they used him as an average pilot.

While my comments was more directed towards those expecting obscure plot twists, gruesome deaths, spectacular military manuevers and real life retributions for military mistakes, I attribute A's being liked for it being excellent rather than Striker's being bad. Don't misunderstand me though, I have been the first in many previous cases to accept that Striker's DOES have directing, pacing and plot focusing big flaws. However, it's not like that is anything earth shattering... rather that is rather characteristical of your average anime series. Which, in the end makes Striker's fall into the mediocre Anime realm, and it won't be ever remembered as the wanna-be younger sister of A's. However, that in itself doesn't mean that StrikerS is Bad. Just that it is average.That is the point I've been trying to make since 5 episodes above but everyone has been to busy bashing Vivio :p

Haha hope...hope burns in a vat of burning death for me. I remember hoping around that day off episode. The world seemed bright, future was endless now that they had done training and everything. Oh what foolishness, utter foolishness. Let us all cry ourselves to sleep. Now that's pretty good on dramatics.

Yeah the end of Jail's ship was pretty weak. The fleet finally showed up, probably slowed down by getting a bite to eat. I'm not even sure if they used Arc-en-Cil. They just blasted the damn thing and that was that.

I rated previous episodes in the poll from 3 for the worst (most of the first chapters), till 8 for episode 12 if I remember correctly, but this is the first time that one episode deserves the lowest of the possible qualifications.

Absurd, pointless, disappointing and an aberration, those are the best words to describe this episode. I didn’t expect anything coming from the last episode of this poor quality show, but this was out of the limit.

Kyoto Animation should do a remake of StrikerS (yes, I can dream too), with a finite cast, character development, plot, fights with a lot of beam instead of indoors battles with limiters, the visual quality of Air, a dramatic end, and a dance opening.

Well it's pretty likely they did all of that. Just thought I'd shorten it down. We can have some DVD extras with the fleets taking a break at the amusement parks and playing around. "What the Jail situation? Oh don't worry we'll get there eventually. No big deal."

And I guess there is a possibility where they just won't mention some of the characters like the numbers for next season, but then what exactly was the purpose of this season? I rated previous episodes in the poll from 3 for the worst (most of the first chapters), till 8 for episode 12 if I remember correctly, but this is the first time that one episode deserves the lowest of the possible qualifications.

Absurd, pointless, disappointing and an aberration, those are the best words to describe this episode. I didn’t expect anything coming from the last episode of this poor quality show, but this was out of the limit.

I'm starting what do people wanted to see in a series that pertains to the Mahou Shoujo genre so clearly that it pains. Maybe they should see a little more from the genre to see what they actually should expect from a series like this. For season 4, even though in my opinion Nanoha S4 is as probable as a Rozen Maiden S3, I'd like something like that. A real epic story where grunts have a purpose, where aces play superstar commanders, where they lead armies against real opponents and fight huge battles.

Alternatively, a dark Nanoha storyline would have tremendous success. Just make her seemingly evil, get the white devil out when the TSAB doesn't evolve like she wanted, make her Robin Hood and Fate the Sheriff of Nottingham, and watch the drama as their differences in opinion clash and can't be repaired by mere befriending anymore.

despite what StrikerS has given us this season, this ending was pretty good...putting all forgotten unsolved plot holes aside and such, it was a nice closing to another Nanoha season and leaves it really wide open for another season.

- Final rush towards escape from Cradle, Nanoha, Vivio, and Hayate are saved by Subaru and Teana through Vice's motorcycle...one thing though, I thought they were surrounded by AMF defenses...unless its only inside the room where Nanoha, Vivio, and Hayate were located, Subaru could use her devices like if she were under normal conditions.
- Vice beats both Zafira and Chrono in this season of Nanoha...besides Zest, he had screen time towards the end of the season to make a come back and kick ass with Storm Raider in sniper form...he made Teana go "USO DA!" with his skills.:heh:
- Chrono...yay finally he arrives...and where was Cradle heading off to?...space? I thought its destination was clearly TSAB??...weird unless all those blasts made it go haywire, it was going towards space and Chrono and his space armada destroyed it.
- Signum and Agito doing unison, that was pretty cool. Seeing Signum in that form was as equal as seeing Fate in Sonic form. Although I felt sorry for Agito losing her "danna" and destroying what was left of AgitoXZest, atleast she found reason to live and become a unison device to an attribute of her type....fire! Signum looks like she could equal Hayate with her powers...and not to mention Fate and Nanoha as well.
- Erio saving Fate from a falling ceiling...good going Erio, although a lot of people will hate you for that and oh will the doujinshi's flow with that type of thought after this episode....:heh:
- Anyone caught Erio looking at Fate's...uh, boobies when she hugged both of them after the Cradle was destroyed? I mean Fate was still in Sonic form and pretty much, Sonic form is a really revealing form...:heh:
- The aftermath of the final battle...sever months have passed and its again spring and one year since RF6 was made. Too bad though, RF6 was being disbanded...everyone will be going on their separate ways. But Nanoha and company had one more task to do. Graduate the Forwards into Strikers status and have ONE LAST TRAINING MOCK BATTLE with them. Although Fate was against it, she joined in on it. Too bad, it wasn't animated...it would have been a great battle.:( and Hayate was shafted from the battle and Ginga and her did referee work.
- So...I don't know how much time has skipped but the epilogue sure showed a lot of interesting stuff.
- Vivio is in school and Nanoha, Arf, and Yuuno couldn't resist but take a peek in her classroom...and am I sensing NanohaXYuuno since RF6 got disbanded and well, Nanoha and Fate will be seeing each other less than when RF6 was together...hmmm...
- Teana is part of the Navy...or to better put it, she's an agent now, since she waned to become an agent. So I'm guessing she will be working with Fate and Shari and with Chrono as well.
- Hayate is with her knights and looks like Agito and Rein will become the best of friends.
- Ginga being seen with the Numbers and teaching them something...maybe about humanity?...and Genya checking out Nove...WTF??!!:twitch:
- Subaru saving two kids from a flooding ship...taking the steps to be just like Nanoha...and maybe influencing these kids to take up TSAB jobs?...hmm
- Looks like Vice is out of retirement for good...and a picture is shown with him, his sister, Alto, and Signum?...is there some kind of ViceXSignum going on?
- Lutecia and her mother, Alpito living in a peaceful valley...with Garyuu overlooking their location as protection. I guess the Saint Church found a cure to revive Alpito without using a relic.:heh:
- Erio has become a Pokemon Ranger!!:heh: Where is he working at anyways? Looks like a wild life preservation area or something...Erio sure does have an interest in animals. And it looks like the person being the master of Fried has changed to Erio instead of Caro...kinda sad, but she does have Voltaire though.
- And Nanoha taking on new students into the field battle examination...and thats how it ends!


- How can Vita still fight like that and have Eisen out like if he wasn't even badly damaged after hitting the core multiple times at full strength?...I mean, if I were Vita and I was bleeding like that, I wouldn't even think of getting up and smashing some more drones. But Vita does have a lot of spirit and I guess her will to fight made Eisen all better?...hmm

Alot of ups and downs in this season of Nanoha...26 episodes was new thing for Nanoha...even though the season is finished, there are still some plot holes to cover and most likely they will be covered in another season. Surprisingly for the last episode, the RAW that I watched was pretty good...the audio was pretty clear and so was the picture.

Well, this scene is plausible due to the scene where adult!Vivio said that she had learned what she truly is as a organic weapon, tying in accordingly as to how adult!Vivio's intelligence and coherency tied in with current Vivio's.

The biggest flaw with Vivio's character was that they gave her 'character' only in the last 2 episodes.

I'm not disappointed by this serie, because I don't expect anything.
I just love how Nanoha series are and whatever they will be.

For action scenes, actually I'm a fan of action animes (also movies), I agree that they have less action scence than A's. But quality is equal. Please remind this time they are full time officers so they can't do it all by themselves without permission and they have to think more about teammate, like Nanoha always teach Forwards.

Actually, I am not totally agree that some fans wait only shoujo-ai scenes or ending as well as action scenes.
Because Nanoha series have many things that worth to watch more than that.

In my opinion, actually Nanoha series have theme about 'inspiration of life' which are reasons you are living for and what you want to acheive.

Riot 6 was established by Hayate's inspiration to help other people to has no more sad or cry.
That why StrikerS ended this way.

In terms of character development for the numbers. That topic alone (for each number) could last about 5 episodes in total. Yes the writers and the people above them were too lazy or were "crunched" for time. Anyway issue that has lasted since the first season of Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha is the "forbidden city". They have to at least have to some character development for the numbers, Agito and Lutecia. Oh yah regarding Lutecia what about her "mother". With that does Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate accomplish their dreams?


In the end I loved Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS (not as much as A's and the first season). With that I'm willing to buy all three seasons now :heh:. I can't wait to get my hands on all three seasons.

RF6 was an experimental unit, it wasn't meant to last to begin with. 2ndly, it's creation in the first place was only for one purpose which is to prevent the prophecy from happening, which had been stopped. Once it's done, there's no real need for RF6 to continue its term. Not to mention core members like Nanoha and Fate didn't 'officially' transfer to the Ground Forces from Navy/Air but were borrowed.

They will. Just look up the A's to StrikerS manga chapter I for a good example. It's just that they can't do it daily anymore, but that doesn't stop them from being in contact and going on missions together when possible. After all, it's not like any of the important characters are tied to the bias-Ground Forces, which with Regius's death, should be a lot more flexible and cooperative with different branches.

well I was going all "WTF" when RF6 was being disbanded and such and everyone was getting dismissed by Hayate for the last time. Even though StrikerS wasn't as all of us would have hoped for, seeing RF6 go like that was kinda sad for me.:heh:
Although there was potential to make the Forwards' graduation from Forward status to Strikers status a little bit more emotional than just tearing up and stop crying after 2 seconds.:heh:
But having "Beautiful Amulet" play during that scene of the final mock battle was pretty well done. It had a sense of closure for the disbandment of RF6.
But their last mock battle would have been interesting to see....I guess the manga can animate that for us since they did do that for A's last chapter in the manga.

But if theres going to be a new season, I wonder if RF6 will be formed again. Its good to see that everyone left on good terms and that everyone is living a good life.
Although, how long has it been since the epilogue started after the final mock battle?...feels like 2 years has gone by, looking at Vivio going to school and such.

Jokes aside, I recall her profile stating that her cool and calm personality makes her admired by the younger ones, along that she's technically the leader of the younger numbers. She'd probably hung around the younger ones more than her older sisters once the younger ones were born and are more attached to them later on.

I agree with you on this^^ It really seemed to be 1-4 + 7 were Daddy with love you, while 6, 8-12 were for the good of my Sisters I'll follow him. As for poor cinque my bets is this. She was seen in the flashback fighting Zest (original 5 numbers) but was wonded/dmg ... etc and so had to be put back in the tube. By the time Jail got around to rebooting her a good portion of the new numbers had been created/activated and she probably felt more at ease with them then her daddy loving sisters.

I havn't seen the ep yet (gonna watch raw when I get home) but can someone clarify. Was a seal removed or added on Lutecia? (as someone had stated) It would make more sense removed (the symbol was gone in the end) cause it could have been part of the reason why Quttro could mind control her.

I think there was too much this series to spread around.

I missed the epic 1 vs 1 battles between Nanoha x Fate, or Fate x Signum.
Those were trading blows, and equally matched opponents.

Tiana managed to take out 3 of the numbers by herself (Although I like her 10x more because of her maneuver).
And Nanoha doesn't do anything strategic in attacks, she does a WAS... and that is nice. But for her battles, Excellion Buster! Divine Buster! Starlight Breaker!
(Okay, I REALLY love the Divine Buster on Quattro, but still).

Then Voltaire didn't do much, they just needed someone big to fight the giant bug...

I guess it's because the Aces are just so overpowering already, you can't make an enemy for them to fight on equal grounds...
But I wish there was a good 1 vs 1 fight at the end.

OR THEY COULD HAVE SHOWN THE ACE VS STRIKERS BATTLE!!!

Lol, overall I like Lyrical + A's better. StrikerS wasn't to my expectations, but nevertheless enjoyable. And being a Nanoha fan, there was no way I could pass up watching it.

I don't understand japanese well enough to read and comprehend everything that displayed. (Doesn't help the text is unclear on the specific raw I watched...)
I can take a guess from the animation.

I always just consider rein 2 as a mini me of rein^^ General appearance and similar book but pails in comparison to the original. Which brings me to my next question:

who do you think is now stronger Signum+Agito unison or Hayate+Rein 2 unison? To me it doesn't appear Rein adds to much more power to Hayate (not to mention she isn't the true unison device for the tome of the night sky thus has no where near the power it use to have) while Agito is hinted at being a true device) just better control yet Agito gives Signum a major boost in juice (not to mention a real waredrobe make over, even rein + hayate didn't get that drastic a change)?

My bets are either equal or Signum+Agito is stronger. If what I read is true and better compatibility means a more drastic change in look then Signum owns big time.

You hadn't even seen the Hayate+Rein 2 unison do an attack, so badly the two of them had been shafted!

I think Rein was tuned to Hayate, and Agito just happened to be in tune with Signum. But Agito has a more aggressive character, so when the two of them fused, her percentage of dominance is much greater. It is a test of wills to see how much the appearance changes IIRC.

But definitely Agito is the much more suitable unit for Signum, especially if you believe in omyoudo. Rein's sokusei is either Neutral or Water, and Agito's is Fire.

But it is Ep26 now, Chaos - if they hadn't died by now, there's no point in killing them in Ep26. If you killed them, you'd just have wasted scenes where they feel regret over it or something.

Quite frankly, I want them to be in the next story. They'd expand the cast so nicely that even 7Arcs will know there is no way they can portray them all properly, and thus they would concentrate. And the next "RF6" will be a much more properly sized unit with them in it.

Yuuno and Arf can be attributed to fanservice. Honestly, it really feels like Augusta was set up so that they can both set up Teana, introduce L/Z and have one dose of Yuuno for no particular reason.

But damn, some of these Saint Church/Chrono's pseudo-storyline inclusion and these 3 Admirals thing really feel tacked on as well, even though they're supposed to have a degree of relevance. Did we even need big-brother-wannabe to Hayate when Hayate is getting shafted like no one's business?

Even if these characters are maybe meant for a S4, it really feels like they're there for the sake of being there only as decorations. Mind-boggling.

My wish had came BEFORE I realized that things were going very far south from what I've expected. When episode 19-20 came out, I threw all hopes out the window.

Somehow,after all of this,I think I had the same feeling when I was watching last episode of Mai-HiME for the first time.
Personally, it feels more like the Mai-Otome ending (or rather, the series as a whole).

Like Otome, StrikerS had way too many characters. It would've been fine if the Numbers were evil-to-the-core characters who dies in the end, but that didn't happen.

There was too many factions introduced at once: [Lulu + Zest], [Erio/Caro], [Subaru/Ginga/Tea], [Numbers+Jail] and [Jail+Vivio].

The LuZest faction might have worked well with just Erio+Caro. (Summoner story, Erio becoming a DK/Cario's partner, Ground forces' secret w/ Zest)

The SuGinTea faction might have worked well with Numbers+Jail (Cyborgs-focused storyline, Tea overcoming her inferiority complex)

The Jail+Vivio storyline would've been just another rehash of A's, but at least with a more definite direction (Developing Nanoha's motherly instincts, and *prepares anti FxN shield* relationship development between Nanoha and Yuuno -> NxY (becoming an official couple), Vivio becoming their adopted child. Fate + Hayate = shafted?)

Last but not least, they need a bigger budget, dammit. For a 2007 production, it surely looked pretty crappy most of the time. Definitely looked like the budget they had for N1/N2, but it wouldn't had been that much of a problem if it stuck with 13 episodes...

To keep the series fresh, they would either have to use the younger characters (Erio/Caro/Subaru/Tea/Ginga/Vivio/Numbers) or have a brand new set of finite characters, in a new setting altogether (new setting can just mean another dimension). The problem here is that Nanoha will have to make some kinda of rather significant appearance in the series, or else people like me would be asking, "Why is this show called MGLN when Nanoha plays no significant roles in it?"

Its just like Mai-Otome (I won't bother to spoil, but people who have watched it know what I mean). Or having a Naruto sequel without naruto. Or a new Inuyasha movie about every character in the series EXCEPT inuyasha himself. Thats a problem I see with most series with a main character's name in the title.

There is still potential left, just have 7arcs rip the romance of the three kingdoms, or something, make Nanoha and Co generals and you're set. You can even make it a interplanetary struggle for epicness. That is, if 7arcs was actually able to do it, and they are not.

I'm just praying that the licence is either given to another studio or quietly forgotten. Another season of StrikerS quality would be a disaster.

Interesting ideas for a season 4, but it would be hard to come up with a subtitle to the "Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha" title.
Another problem that might go with another season of Nanoha is the inclusion of new characters again. I mean most of the Numbers didn't die, we still have Scaglietti in jail (hahahah jail...Scaglietti...haha) who still looks like he can break out of jail...somehow, and the newly promoted Strikers team from RF6.

hmmm...maybe they can set it on Earth again just like back in the first two seasons and get a completely new random person on Earth (most likely Japan) and give that person a completely new random device from someone who was in the Scrya tribe or some other tribe or place in another dimension...or something like that:heh:. The only complex thing is to somehow relate it all back to Nanoha because of the title.

True .I was expecting nanoha to be developed as a teacher.As she has now 4 forwards under her,she has much to tell and teach.

Nanoha can never be forgotten. I mean its pretty popular enough to spark conversations about how this show is different from most "mahou shoujo" titles in anime. I don't know about how it might work well with a different studio. 7arcs is the only studio familiar with Nanoha...if another studio gets it's license, the most likely thing to happen is that they might go and change the storyline from the very beginning or alter it in a way thats its their way of seeing the show in their eyes.

Maybe we'll give 7arcs to correct themselves and do another season CORRECTLY without making it another "StrikerS" disaster.

BTW, even though the Cradle's destination was TSAB, why was it going out of orbit and into space?...weird, unless the battle inside the cradle must have made it all berserk and just traveled up there for no reason.

No one said anything about Cradle headed towards TSAB. It was going to its optimum point IN SPACE, where it can draw power from the 2 moons to become complete.

Well, clearly that aspect of the Cradle's moon-powers must've been temporarily crippled when the main reactor was destroyed, or the ship somehow slowed down to the point where it couldn't reach optimum point earlier than the fleet, which it was supposed to.
