Any official news about the singer of the ending theme? I know I've read on ANN and at Moon Phase that they have listed Chata (茶太) as the performer of "Dango Daikazoku" ("だんご大家族") but other than those sources I'm not sure if it's official or not.

Finally, a music thread for CLANNAD.

Here's my thoughts on the various CLANNAD soundtracks:

For the OST, most of the songs are pleasant to listen to, as with KEY's high standards. However, the AIR OST still ranks highest amongst my favourite KEY soundtracks, followed by Kanon. This is not to say CLANNAD OST is bad. Compared to other series, CLANNAD certainly ranks up there, but still pales in comparison to AIR and Kanon.

The CLANNAD/Tomoyo After piano album, Piano no Mori, is a pleasant assortment of some of the best tracks from the two games. Though more songs from CLANNAD should've been chosen.

The CLANNAD remix album, memento, is a mixed bag for me. It combined disco remix with orchestral rearrangements, I preferred the latter. I wasn't too happy on them butchering the beautiful Engrish song "Ana", turning it into a mindless disco track. But this album also has the most beautiful song of all the soundtracks in its final track, the 10 minute ballet Sakura Shuukyoku (桜抒曲).

I've yet to hear the new ED "Dango Daikazoku", but it should be more or less a variation of Nagisa's theme.

I actually rank the Clannad OST as better than both AIR and Kanon. The music of Clannad really grows on you, and each character's own theme song is very unique and suits the image of the characters really well. The gradual gaining of backup instruments of Kotomi's theme "Etude Pour Les Petites Supercordes", Fuuko's playful "Hairy Starfish" were some really outstanding character themes which instantly reminds me of their characters and stories.

Also some of the official, as well as unofficial symphonic (although synthesised) arrangements of Clannad music are incredible. The ones done by Resound Wav are really amazing, especially Kyou's theme "Soyo Kaze no You ni", easily my favourite. :)

Call me mad, though i've sat down and thought about it --- and i just can not choose which i like more out of the three scores. I think i'm happy with that, though i can agree with your opinion on CLANNAD's. Top 05 tracks come soon. :3

I do very much look forward to hearing CLANNAD's original score in the anime. It shall be a beautiful watch just for that alone.

I really like Clannads OST but I can't rate it higher than Air/Kanon's atm due to not having any emotional attachment to any of the songs. Curious to hear the ending song...

I certainly prefer Clannad's OST rather than Kanon. First it has more songs. Second the vocal songs are all more lively than Kanon. Clannad's song has a lighter touch in it and it is more relaxing to listen to them while when I listen to Kanon music I always have this feeling in my chest that sinks in.
My favourite piece is 'A Tiny Palm', the song that happens in the true end of After Story, second being '-Two Shadows-' which is played at the true end of each route.

Posting a video of a digital variation of a song doesn't count as breaching the rules, does it?

Here's the OP "Meg Meil" sung by Hatsune Miku of the popular Vocaloid2 digital voice software.

Yes, it's official. It basically used Nagisa's melody (from OST) with lyrics about... dango. :D

By the way, the OP animation looks REALLY nice. I'm not sure if posting youtube links is against the rules here, if not, I can post the links to both the OP & ED animations.

Just like Last regrets & Kaze no Tadori Tsuku Basho, we'll probably see a single re-release for the both of them, anime version.

But yeah, both can be found on the original soundtrack.

A small piece of miscellaneous info from Chata's blog
ttp://chata.moo.jp/blog/index.php

Dango Daikazoku was originally produced to be only an insert song. Somewhere along the way Kyoto Animation decided that it should become the ED instead (probably after hearing the song and finding that it fitted the themes of Clannad so well?) The decision was made a short while after the most recent Comike in mid August.

Chata herself was a bit surprised too after jokingly thinking beforehand that it would be nice if they used the song for the ED :)

Quick and dirty 5 min (literally) job:

dango dango dango daikazoku
dango dango the great dango family

yancyana yakidango
the mischivious yakidango

yasashii dan dango
the gentle dan dango

minna minna awasete hyakuninn kazoku
everyone everyone gather together, a family of a hundred

akachan dango wa itsumo shiawase no naka de
baby dango is always bathed in happiness

toshiyori dango wa me o hosometeru
the old dango's eyes are narrow

nakayoshi dango te o tsunagi ookina maruiwa miraru yo
the intimate dangos join hands, they look like a round ring

machi wo tsukuri dango hoshi no ue minna de waraiauyo
dangos makes a town on the star, everyone's laughter meets

usagi mo sora de te o futteitteru dekai tsukisama
even the rabbit in the sky is waving its hands, the giant moon

ureshikoto kanashikoto mo
happy things and sad things

zenbu narumete

And if you want a translation of the lyrics, here you are:
I was having a transparent dream; it was a tender eternity
The faint, wind-like voice
Is calling me from the high sky

If I take off while like this, I can go anywhere

Surely, I’ll unreservedly tell you
The words, thoughts, everything that swayed in the light

I embrace an uncertain feeling; I feel uneasy no matter what
I still don’t know now
But someday, the moment when I’ll reflect in your eyes will come

The world continues on while I’m gazing at you

If we can see a little future
Within our joined hands
Then c’mon, let’s release our memories
Because there’s a time that connects to
The tip of my straightforward heart

Even on the day of a cold morning, I’ll move forward unhesitatingly
While I turn pain and sorrow into my allies

If the atmosphere that illuminates you hasn’t disappeared yet
Then wait for me and quietly look down

If we can see a little future within our joined hands
Then the words, thoughts, everything that swayed in the light-

Surely, I’ll unreservedly tell them to the distant you

A Big Dango Family (TV Size Version)
Vocals: Chata

Dango, dango, dango, dango
A big dango family

The naughty fried dango, the kind red bean dango
Everyone, everyone comes together and it’s a family of hundreds

The baby dango is always within happiness
The aged dango narrows its eyes

The chummy dangos hold their hands together and make a big, round ring

They build a town on the dango planet and everyone laughs together
The rabbit is trying to wave in the sky; the huge moon
Is rounding up everything, happy things and sad things, too

IMO, they will probably play 小さなてのひら at the end of the After Story. After all, this is the real ED in the game, I will be very surprised and upset if it is left out in the TV series.

As someone remarked in the general thread, if the song is played at the end of every episode, the "impact" will be reduced significantly. So it is possible that KyoAni is reserving the song for the big moment.

The OP is really nicely done. Fits the mood well, naturally the animation is impeccable. I'm very curious just what the little mechanical in the snow is, but perhaps I should wait and see rather then get spoilered now. As someone who watches several shows, and often on a varying schedule, I really appreciate having the chars named in the intro. Makes keeping track of who's who a lot simpler, especially when there isn't a wide variation in appearances between the females. I don't find the song so catchy that I'm liable to listen to it before every ep, but neither is it likely to annoy me to the point of not wanting to hear it again.

This is an ED. It is made of dango and crinkly paper effect. Honestly the ED seems somewhat misplaced, like it was originally conceived for a show aiming at a younger audience. Thematically appropriate, but a bit too cutesy for me. Also, every time I look at it, I'm reminded of the nearly identical jelly-ball critters that the semi-evil lady in Slayers has for pets... which just seems like a bad association for Clannad. I think I'll go back and watch that scene in the OP where the girl is running through the flowers again... 24fps FTW!

Oh damn..I completely forgot to leave a message in this thread. I find the OP music better. Infact I have been listenin to it ever since i heard it in the promo of CLANNAd in the final episode of KANON. But presentation wise..that is video wise..the ED is very innovative..and inspite of appearing to be a childish song..still leaves u with a melancholic feeling all the time. It conveys the message of family well..and is definitely a well made ED.

As for BGM..I simply loved the music when Nagisa is introdused. Other than that I liked Kyou's BGM a lot too. These two BGMs stood out for me. The rest were nice..need to listen more

iamandragon
2007-10-07, 09:09
Yay! I found someone who doesn't like the ED like me! But the ED originally wasn't childish--if you pay attention, the ED shares the tune of Nagisa's bgm, which both comes from 'A Tiny Palm', which is the last and final song in the game when you totally complete it.

As for the OP...I have my iTunes set to play it over and over again through out the day...wait for the PV release, the bridge of it is even more beautiful.

I guess this goes here, but for those that didn't know (I was one), Clannad TV also has a web radio series going as well... with Nakahara Mai (Nagisa Furukawa) and Inoue Kikuko (Sanae Furukawa) as the hosts!

First episode already aired and can be listened to at onsen.ag; seems to be on every monday. Pretty standard stuff for anime web radio but to have those two seiyuus hosting made it so much more entertaining. Definitely worth listening to for those that (somewhat) understand moonspeak ;)

But I like the Opening for Clannad, its just that I have to get used to it though.

I didn't know there were two different versions of the theme song "megumeru" for Clannad.
One version is the theme used for the opening and the other version is the original used in the preview for the next episode. Both sound the same, but the regular version seems to have the guitar and drums in the background while the "Cuckool mix" version of Megumeru just has the techno sound all the way through. I like both though.:heh:
A small question about the theme song though, are these the same artist that did the song for the game also?
"Dango Daikozoku" has grown on me...after watching episode 2 and waking up the next day, I had the song in my head first thing when I woke up.

Well, it is indeed written as "megumeru" in katakana. In fact, the "official" romaji is a reference to the irish mythology, a bit similar to Vahalla, heaven, etc. Here is the wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mag_Mell).

I guess, it might be less confusing if either of the 2 is used by everyone, but meh :heh:

oh thats cool, but judging from the Wikipedia article on Mag Mell, it seems that the description of the mythology actually fits in with the theme of Clannad, and that is a parallel world where wishes come true...well thats how Nagisa said in episode 2.:heh: Other than the other theme of Clannad, which is family, the ending is a nice way of displaying that theme. Plus in this mythology thing, the article also says its a place where death and sickness is never present.
Are the lyrics of Mag mell kind of describing this mythology?...or is the song just named to depict the image of the mythology for Clannad's world in Nagisa's eyes?

TAMUSIC (a doujin group specializing in Touhou and, to a lesser extent, Key music) is releasing a collection of 85 piano scores from Kanon, Air, Clannad, Planetarian and Tomoyo After. (http://www.pico-score.com/score-sale/planning.htm) The cost is 4,500 yen and the profit will goto various charity organizations.

Unless you are living in Japan, you have to go through some proxy service to purchase it since they are not accepting foreign orders currently (due to some paypal problems?),

I just need to say this to correct some things...

Riya is the vocalist of eufonius.

frequency=>e is the name of eufonius' official website and they have an "online radio" (which is a recorded session of Kikuchi and Riya doing a "radio show", so therefore it's not a broadcast and is downloadable)

Kikuchi does all the arrangements and some of the compositions, whilst Riya is the vocalist and also the composer for eufonius' songs.

Riya was part of refio (a "group" made up of Myu and Riya) whilst also doing some solo works for some of Key's visual novels.

refio split sometime during the end of 2004 and the beginning of 2005 and then Riya formed eufonius with Kikuchi.

Myu (the other member of refio) formed kukui, which is made up of Myu herself and Haruka Shimotsuki (vocalist for all of the atelier series opening songs).

Riya and Shimotsuki once did a duet for a visual novel by the name of Akaiito (song's called "Mawaru Sekai De"). So we can pretty much assume that Riya and Shimotsuki are fairly well acquainted.

Went a bit off topic there :( but it's just some info.

You can purchase the item through a proxy service provider (middleman). Some suggestions are :
Akibabo (http://www.akibado.com/personalimport.html)
Shopping Mall Japan (http://www.shoppingmalljapan.com/specialordersearch.html)
CELGA (http://celga.com/web.html)

Please note that the handling charge will not be cheap (expect around 80% markup).

I can only find the score for 小さな手のひら (http://sound.jp/m_maru/CLANNAD/index.html) (Game's ED. Dango Daikazoku is actually a variation of it.)

Hope it helps. :)

Can somebody tell what's the difference between all the versions of mag mell?

Jeiku

I'm really confused on how the remix of "Mag Mell" is meant to be called.

I've seen various sources label the original remix of this song as "cockool mix," which of course is the remix of the first version. However, when it was mixed yet again for the anime it was labeled as "cuckool mix." Essentially, which is meant to be the correct spelling? Also it would help me a lot if someone could show to me exactly how it is spelled on the back cover of the original Clannad game soundtrack, since I can't find a large-enough quality scan to see for myself.

Any help will be much appreciated. This has been bothering me for a while and figured I might as well ask.

Can somebody tell what's the difference between all the versions of mag mell?

Sure. There are 4 versions of magu mell out there.

The first is of course the full version from the game which they call the long version. It has a intro, followed by the first verse, a repeat of the vocal and the second verse which is twice in length of the first verse, a bridge and a third verse of double length which is made up of the first two lines of the first and second verse to finish it up.

Then we have the short version. It is almost half the length of the full version, it has a intro, followed by ONE verse, a bridge, and another verse.

After that comes the off vocal version (or you can karaoke version if you want), which is basically the full version without.

Then we have this cockool mix (don't ask me what a cockool mix is, it's spelled like that in the CD track!) It has a lot of sound effect mixed in it, and some backing vocal (that's the voice reflection you hear)

And a short version to it

Finally is the off vocal version of the cockool mix...

And an interesting note: the KyoAni anime used the cockool mix version for the anime OP, and without any alternations(not that I notice) but they released it as a new song none the less...(or maybe my ears aren't good enough to find out the difference)

Oh, and if you preordered the Toei movie tickets, you can get a frequency->e version which is their own version of Megu Mell. I personally dislike Toei so I didn't get either ticket nor CD.

To sum it up, here's a list of Magu Mell:
The full version
The short version
The off vocal version

The cockcool mix
The cockcool mix short version
The cockcool mix off vocal

The KyoAni version of cockcool mix.

The frequency->e version by Toei

P.S.

After listening to both, they are vastly different, though indeed, the anime version used the original cockool mix as the base.
But the very start of the song, and various "synthesizer" effects and the loud violin are part of the original mix, while the anime version is more harmonious in that regard. I think the 2007 is more "instrumental" than its game remix counterpart, with less "invasive" sounds and such, but more chorus.

In fact, the 2007 puts more emphasis on the tempo, and thus, giving some spike and contrast between the verses. (though around 2:00, both songs are using the same shift of pace)

Kinny Riddle

The 2007 remix of Meg Meil is slightly longer in the "middle section" of the chorus (the parts where the girls names are being introduced in the OP). The original Meg Meil has only two lines while going straight for the end section while cockool remix has four lines.

And as mentioned, Dango Daikazoku is simple yet excellent. It can be used as in a school just to teach kids basic Japanese. I'm even thinking of taking its off vocal version for my mobile phone ring tone. :D

It embodies the essence of the show, since the lyrics is written by none other than Clannad scenario writer Maeda Jun himself.

Get a grip and don't spoil the effort he has put into this, also as a fansubber I wouldn't mind someone putting it on youtube instead of for example suki or any other place especially not the ED. It's not as if they have any financial interest only releasing it on their site, it's by fans for the fans right? Just think of all the time that would go wasted if people think like you! A stupid metaphor for this can be; if someone stole a wallet and a third person tries to get it back from the thief running against a red light and then get blamed by the community for taking that action. ;)

I would be surprised if there were alot more people that has the same opinion as you do, putting the OP on youtube is a hella lot bigger crime than adding some subs to it and putting it up there btw

Clannad's music is awesome. It has such a huge emotional range. From the cheerful numbers, to the pensive, to the simple and almost childlike sound of だんご大家族. Currently, my favorite song is 町、時の流れ、人 [Town, Flow of Time, People]. The only problem is that the music sounds like a visual novel. By that, I mean that the music has a tendancy to loop a lot. This is perfect when listening to it as a background track, but when you are paying more attention to the music it can get a bit monotonous.

Still, background music is generally inappropriate for active listening, so this is great music to just flip on while doing something else.

For some reason, the more I listen to Dango Daikazoku, the sadder the song makes me feel. First time I listened to it, it was cute. The more I listened, the ending part, where the sound gets thicker, it felt more profound, to the point now that when it gets to that part, I can almost feel tears start to well. It feels like a sort of sad lullaby.

Anyone else kinda get this, or am I just being a bit strange?

Seeing as though the insert song 'Ana' (sung by Lia) was used in episode 09 for the wedding scene, here are the full lyrics.

The place changes and goes. Like a wind, like clouds.
Like the traces of the heart, no halt at the places.

The place is so far away, be far apart.
People's hand does not reach, so merely has (the) worship.

The place is a lofty lord. Can't meet nobody goes on.
We will lose the place, so lofty which changes.

Not all were desired. However, we're never sad.
Still, there is a still the place. Far away. Far away.

(The wind) blows through the place. An endless, with all.
Like the ripple float on the water. It blows as it goes.

The place is No make at all. Nothing is shown.
Like the sand clasped by hand, it falls vainly.

The place is (a) profound lord, and wear the vain faint light.
But we will find it in the place. The hut at which it stands still.

If not concerned with all, it will maintain that No dye.
Therefore there is still the hut. It's lonely, solitary.

No halt at the wind. It soars to the sky.
Like the verdure (which) meets with sunrise, it grows up as reborn.

The hut has held new one. That's different from all.
Like the sand castle of the children, but realized with the mind.

The person is a vain statue. Wear taciturnity calm.
Still, we will know a huge flow. It is stopped by nobody.

Soon, the wind wears the snow cloud. Will be dyed to snow-white.
Summer grass will incline. No sunlight, feebly shade.

The place buried in deep snow. Like the collapsing castle.
Like the head of the shade, figure will be thrown away.

The hut buried in deep snow. It sinks in to the flood.
And the 'not dyeing' is dyed out, and waits for a oppose one.

Even if all are healed, be gonna no return.
There is still the place. Far away. Far away.

The place changes and goes. Like a wind, like clouds.
Like the traces of the heart, no halt at the places.

The place is lofty lord. Can't meet nobody put on.
Still, there is still the place. Far away. Far away.

That would be the song "Ana" by Lia. Shiroth was kind enough to put up the full lyrics to the song a couple posts ago. As for being in 'English,' it is in so much as the words of the song are english words. It can sometimes be a bit nonsensical.

Does anybody know of a page that shows who composed what in the Clannad soundtrack? Basically I want to know the composers for each individual track; even Chudah isn't of any help, and I've been searching for quite some time. Any links to Japanese pages are fine too. Swell thanks in advance.

I don't disagree, but it just doesn't feel like an ED for me, somehow. I mostly don't like it due to the fact that it didn't go well with the end of episode 9, where afterwards I was still staring at the end of Fuko's arc then Dango Dango appears.

I have to disagree. I think the song is becoming increasingly relevant and meaningful. The Fuko arc I think drove home the theme of family quite well and well the song's about family.

It's certainly not quite as bad as the Kanon 2006 ED, while I personally like the song; on some episodes, it's really out of place.

I have to disagree here with you... Kanon seemed to fit in with every episode nicely. It's just something with an upbeat ending song. If it is a happy episode, it seems to add to the cheerful mood as an exclamation point. But with sad episodes, it has a very sort of special effect, but I cannot seem to describe it. I've seen it happen in Kanon 2006, Clannad 2007, and Sailor Moon Super S (Last 6 episodes) where something big happens, and then it's suddenly upbeat.
I don't know. I like it.

I just have to wonder if at the last episode they'll have Dango Daikazaku, or whether they'll use "A tiny palm".

I really want whatever version of "White Clovers" they used in episode 10. That's the best version I've heard as of yet.

I see what you mean by the lyrical meaning of the song being relevant with episode 9's ending. I just don't like the melodic aspect of the song, since I would've preferred something more calm and smooth.

About the Kanon ED, I had mixed feelings on that too. Sometimes it seemed too upbeat for the content. It seems like many anime have done this, putting an upbeat ending after a dramatic/emotional episode (Elfen Lied, Naruto, etc...) and whatever the reason is, I don't really like it.

Dango Daikazoku has great significance in the series. My personal interpretation of it is that it is Nagisa's song more than anything. Not only because she loves Dango Daikazoku, but because of the association with family, and more specifically Nagisa's family. I'm not going to go into detail, since I was warned for excessive spoilers even within a tag just 9 hours ago, but it is pretty clear from earlier episodes the Nagisa's family acts as a foil for Tomoya's, much to Tomoya's despair. Just know that it's a song with significant lyrics.

Agreed on the Kanon ED, but I think the OP sets the mood well enough for 2 songs :D

The version of White Clovers playing at the start of Episode 10, was that a special arrangement of it for the anime, or was it released? I really liked that version, as it had a darker piano tone and more flute than the original soundtrack. It made it sound like it had more meaning.

Just listened to the soundtrack. Typical Key soundtrack, superb. Music is one of the many things they continually manage to do almost impeccably. I loved the full versions of the Megumeru, and touching heartfelt tracks like Machi, Toki no Nagare, Hito, Nagisa's theme, Fuko's theme, Shionari, Onaji Takami he, etc, etc. The best tracks tended to be the ones which carried simple themes. My only complaint was that I thought a few of Orita Shinji's tracks were subpar and went too heavy on the synth. I'm not sure where I'd put this with respect to other Key soundtracks, since they're all of an extremely high quality. I guess this might barely pip Kanon's soundtrack, but isn't quite as good as Air's. I'd have to listen to it a few more times to make up my mind for certain, though.

Hm...is it just me or do parts of eufonius' Apocrypha (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydeFr7pUv9s) for Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica sound a bit like their Megumeru (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7tQfRjGdq4) for Clannad? Noein (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEa6nkQC75w)'s OP too. Or do some of eufonius' music tend to sound alike sometimes?

It's alright to link to an OP of a licensed anime like Noein, right? As long as it isn't downloadable?

While I've recently been on a Clannad withdrawl, the music still stuck with me. I really like the piano pieces, especially the piano version of 'Dango Daikozoku' at the beginning of episode one.

The OP is beautiful, but having listened to other Eufonius tracks, it sounds more like 'Idea' (the Noein OP) than a separate song. The ED had me hooked when I first downloaded it. Watching it with the dangos made it better! :D

Next time I drop by Kinokuniya in Seattle, I'll have to look for the Clannad soundtracks. :p

I really like the piano pieces, especially the piano version of 'Dango Daikozoku' at the beginning of episode one.

Actually, that piano piece was not Dango Daikazoku. It's actually called Nagisa. Dango Daikazoku is basically another one of the 3(?) renditions of Nagisa. The others are Chiisana Te no Hira (Riya), Chiisana Te no Hira (Lia), and Nagisa~Parting at the Bottom of the Hill.

Nagisa is a (very?) easy piece on the piano, which might take someone 2 week tops to learn it; even if they have little dedication to learning it. Even people who never played a piano before will find it a simple, easy piece that sounds nice. If you want the music sheet for it, it's at http://www008.upp.so-net.ne.jp/m_maru/

Click on Clannad at the bottom and Nagisa (渚) will be the second one on that page.

You need to have Japanese language support for your Adobe Reader, which means that you need Adobe Reader as well. If you still cannot view it, you might need Japanese language support for your web browser as well.

Oh forgot to add. Don't feel discouraged if you can't play it yet or feel like you can't... because you have to know how to read musical notation and at least memorize the notes. If you can read musical notation, then it will be easy, but if you can't, then it won't be easy.

It's made by Resound Wave and not by Key Sound Labels, that's for sure. But is Resound Wave just a fan circle that focuses on music? Or does it have a go-signal from Key?

I know manga publishing companies turn a blind eye to copyright infringements with regard to doujins, but I have no idea with music labels. o_O

No, I think it was all done by one person (TAMUSIC), or at least one person leads the group. And I was mistaken. What I have is Kanon music, not for both Air and Kanon.

Resound Wave seems like they do a lot of this though, so they probable don't get into trouble as far as I can tell. Probably as long as they arrange the music (and add their own edits?) themselves.

Much like some western cultures see the "man in the moon", in Japan that figure is a rabbit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Rabbit_in_the_moon_standing_by_pot.png). Incidentally, he's making mochi.

There is a tale that goes along with it, which you can see a version of on the last section of this page (http://yamasa.org/acjs/english/link_september.html).

Hmm, wher could I find the Celtic arrangement of 'County Lane' played during the Fuko Arc in the school scene? I love that arrangement!

The only non-doujin arrangement I know of that song other than the OST is the Mabinoji Arrange Album, track 2.

To be honest, that CD is just a masterpiece, and I would highly suggest buying it. It has that song, the Fuuko Master Song, the song playing during "Day before yesterday I saw a rabbit, and yesterday a deer, and today you" (First time Kotomi says that), the song that plays when Nagisa and Tomoya first discuss about Fuuko being the girl hospitalized (I think it was episode 4... It has a female singer...), and 2 other arranged tracks that I really like. It has 2 songs I'm not too fond of either. And then it has the main theme for the game (long version) in it's original form.

(Rinoriumu)

It means "linoleum (floor)".

i wonder...
you guys know "Koi no Mikuru Densetsu" the rock and roll version and "Koi no minoru densetsu" right?

i was just wondering...

What would a rock and roll version of Dango Daikazoku sound like...

Actually, considering what they did with Littler Busters! (Rockstars Busters! done by TERRA) such remixes might exist... well not officially (yet?).
That is to say, there are some trance remixes of other clannad songs in OTSU club compilation 1.

You know, when I said I couldn't even begin to imagine Rock Dango, I meant with lyrics, not just the instrumental. :heh: I mean, can you imagine if Queen or Metallica tried to improvise the Dango Song?

Heh. :heh:

sorry if this has been asked before, but does anyone know the name of the song playing at the end of ep 23 during the whole talk between nagisa and tomoya? it's some really nice piano arrangement of nagisa's theme/dango daikazoku. also, what OST is it on?

Shinigami_Mello
2008-05-09, 17:37
That would be the Warm Piano Arrangement of Nagisa's theme from the Memento Arrange Album : D

While the Warm Piano arragement is quite a beautiful piece as well, isn't the one that is used in ep 23 the "A Small Song Passed from Mother to Child" arrangement from the Mabinogi album?

Shinigami_Mello
2008-05-11, 15:34
Nope, I just checked, and it's definately not from the Mabonigi album.
It's the Piano arrange from -Memento-.

"A Small Song Passed from Mother to Child" was used in Ep.19.

Now that I just think about it....Isn't it strange? one of the sweetest songs in the Clannad Music Library: White Clover (白詰草) was NOT used during the entire series. Or maybe they want to save it for the After Season then...

Shinigami_Mello

I think an arrangement of it was used in episode 10, when it showed everyday life.

Hey guys, sorry if this has been posted and I missed it, curious if anyone happened to know of any stores in japan itself that sell the clannad ost's?(one I could walk into and buy the cd's there), or any of the key releases which I'd imagine would be in the same store most likely. Here for a couple months and was hoping I could get them here and save on having to have them shipped to the states. Thanks :)

Yup, it sure is a great song. Like, it's at least CLOSE to Tori no Uta, maybe even better. The visuals are awesome as well.

Damn, how will I ever be able to wait for the full version?

It does sample from Onaji Takami he. I guess it's what Dango Daikazoku was to Chiisana no Te no Hira.

The title of the season 2 OP is Toki o Kizamu Uta, btw.
