This poll is for the anime, not the manga and it only includes characters who had some importance in the anime series. While certain characters in the anime were important in the manga they are not part of this poll because they barely had any dialogue in the anime. If you feel that someone's character was different in the anime and manga, please treat them as separate people and vote based on their anime version only.

I'd also ask you to be nice if there is a character you don't like *cough*Raki*cough*Priscilla*cough* because someone may like them. If you don't like someone, just vote for another.

Lots of great charecters, but rather than vote for everyone I limeted myself to just five. In order they were
1-Helen. The comic mischif charecter. Some great on liners, some great expressions, some of witch I've heard were cut from the show.
2-Claire. Well she is the lead. No matter what she's still going to get a vote.
3-Jean. Honer, nobility and humanity incarnate. She deserves it.
4-Riful. The cute face of evil. Like my adorable cat that thinks the right way to express affection when pet is to bite.
5- Teresea. No matter how long she's dead for her presence will always be felt in the series.

Alright a multi-vote, is all I could think at first :). But did try to limit myself to my top 5 since it would be completely pointless if I just gave everyone a vote after all.
1. Irene - Always loved the flashsword, but also her level head even when facing down Rafaela.
2. Teresa - Even at the end she is still a great character. Lots of courage, power, and a personality that will not be forgotten.
3. Miria - Excellent leader with a move you have to like. Dangerous task of investigating the organization.
4. Jean - Always the honorable warrior. Followed her principles to the very end and gave everything she had to live and die in the right manner.
5. Riful - Favorite AB with a very interesting personality. Cute but of course very dangerous if underestimated.

Coming in a strong second is Phantom! She made a good showing last time, beating out Miss Congeniality for a 3rd place finish and she looks to make it in the top three this time around again.

Currently in 3rd place is CopyCat. She came in 2nd in the previous race so she's a strong contender for this one! Definitely another odds-on favorite!

In the battle for 4th are two newcomers - Lil Witch of the West and Drillbit. Both have had strong preliminaries and hope to make their mark here in this race! In 6th palace, it's Miss Congeniality! She battled hard against Phantom last time - let's see if Lady Luck has something special for her this time!


From 7th onward it's Trouble, Quicksword, and then Windcutter!

I had so many characters I liked......

I gave Priscilla a vote beacuse (in the manga though.) the scene where she told Teresa she didn't want to become a yoma while trying to repres herself, somehow that had a major inpact on me, then again I always liked character that has that "inner struggle with the beast." And well many characters have that in Claymore ^^; I was also fashinted by the design of her awakened form, I gasped when I saw it. (I was so upset with what the anime did to her at the end.......partely by turning her purple......why purple?!)

I also voted Riful beacuse when I saw her true form, (also in the manga sorry I read that first after all so that did give me the first inpact like it or not.) I was somehow stunned and found it very beautiful and graceful. (the anime didn't do that beacuse when they were supposed to show her face they showed a black hole instead.......didn't really give the same inpact...)

Helen for being one of the few characters that showed a real outstanding character, a real bright spot in all that.

Irene for personality and design simply. She gets a plus for elf ears and for how her view on things changed after Teresas death.

Clare for being the main character partly. I somehow had a much harder time to sympathise with Clare in the anime. (Same for Raki.) While I really got attached to her in the manga. (Same with Raki here to.) I started reading Claymore a few years ago, my cousin picked up the first book almost by accident, before most things had started to spread around. I liked it from the start and through that it got an emotional value for me, thus Clare, being the main character, got an emotional value as well, like it or not ^_^

Teresa for well......everybody likes Teresa, and yes I also got that big surprise reaction when she got killed and I thought "Are they allowed to do that?!" I also find her character development with Clare nice and her mother like relation to her. As said she's one of those characters that really has charisma, don't encounter characters like that in every anime/manga one watches/reads.

Miria for being the character with which I quickly liked and showed herself capable, smart and also considering and kind. (I could also separte her from the others......yes in the beginning I had a hard time to telling the Claymores apart from eachother.....)

Jeane for her emotional moments, strnagely enough I started to like her more after the anime.....her personality just grew on me I don't have more to add then that actually. ^^;

Characters that didn't get a vote but still.......

Easly. Well I'm a girl, yes I was very happy when they finally introduced a guy that was actually good looking. But so far I haven't seen enough of his character to give him a vote, but I do look forward to that.

Ophellia should have gotten a vote, since she was also a character that left an impression on me. Mostly when she told Clare that she'd take care of Raki and then later threw him at the AB with a smile on her face. Since I was sympathising with the main character much she did annoy me at first, but she had a very nice ending to her, and when I look back at her the memory is a positive one. But somehow....no.

Raki should not be overlooked my friends. Yes the anime made him more annoying I agree, but I don't mind him, really. I don't like him enough to consider him a favourite but I look forward to see what will happen to him. And when Clare kissed him I was all jumpy, yes I do hope for a romantic reunion between those two.

Flora had a nice design, a cool attack, but very short screentime and nonsaying personality.

I really like her character, she is calm, collected, witty (those comments she threw at her agent and Duff were just too funny), a just personality and kind-hearted....did i mention she is friggin hot as well?

2nd vote: Irene
Pretty much Star Trek Vulcan turned Claymore.Definetly like her level headedness and her leadership ability.Her Flash Sword is one badass move and Claire would be only half the fun without it.So bow down to Deedlit..eh Irene-sama

3rd vote: Ophelia
YAY here comes the crazy bitch. I dont know why but I have a thing for mad people and Ophelia is definetly one of them.She is twisted, sick in the head and bloodthirsty, mixed with some hot stuff. Somehow her suicidal tendencies add to her appeal and her awakend form looks really cool and slick.

I don't have Teresa's vote #'s on the first week she was seen at the anime on the original poll BUT I think she was slow off the gate as well as far as I can remember, but as time progressed, she just racked up the #'s slowly. I'm still voting for Teresa and 4 others but that's it.

Theresa - Without her, there would be no Clare.
Irene - I believe that she regrets Theresa's death and having to be sent to execute her. It seems that her helping Clare was her way of reconciling with Theresa, even at the possibilities of her own demise (via the Organization).
Helen - Comic relief! Out of all the dead-serious poker-faced Claymores, she's the one to count on to cut the mood up with a smile.
Jean - Calm. Cool. Collected. Honorable. Loyal. Fearless. Bite-the-bullet. She had the code of a samurai. I knew Jean was going to die, just didn't know how. I expected her to jump in between Priscilla and Clare... but NO! She had to save the brat. Well, Raki was Clare's "pet" so she had to make sure he didn't get damaged. I want to see doujinshi of the Clare x Jean pairing. I found a pic of the two with this caption:

I finally made my choices. It was tough, despite voting for 8 characters, I still feel like I left out some great, lovable ones. This is Claymore, after all, so I believe I'm justified in picking a large number of favorites.Claymore had such a huge amount of admirable, fantastic and drop-dead-gorgeous characters. They managed to keep both the quality and quantity of characters at a level I feel rivals any show to date. Enough of my mundane ramblings though, let's move on to the characters.
The following characters are not listed in order of who I like most, I'm too indecisive to that.



Clare. Clare had it all. An iron-willed and brave female lead, she was bent on vengeance and had the determination to keep pushing through, despite grim circumstances. Appearing cold, methodical and careless, yet kind, considerate and very human when you give her a second glance. Clare was usually rational and wise, but at the mention of the name "Priscilla", she entered a state of reckless fury. This made her all the more likable in my book. I haven't mentioned that she's beautiful yet. She is. She was also incredibly cute as a child.
Teresa. Our Goddess. Perfect in every way imaginable, Teresa was strong, both mentally and physically, cool and collected at every moment, beautiful and graceful, and always in control of the situation. She wasn't dogmatic when it came to breaking to rules set by her employers, and acted on her own sense of morality to protect that which had become dear to her. Her affection for Clare was one of the most beautiful aspects of Claymore, it was truly memorable. For a character with so little screentime to leave such an impression on the viewers, it takes something great. Though dead, she'll live on, not only in Clare's heart, but also in mine.
Jeane. Jeane's sense of honor was absolute, she didn't give an inch to anyone or anything. The way she was willing to die for Clare, right from the battle with Duff until the very last showdown with Priscilla showed a consistent, honest and noble heart. Hopefully Jeane died a happy women, knowing she had fulfilled her duty and lived a honorable, good life. She certainly had every reason to.
Mirria. Good leadership, good looks, a good attitude and a courageous heart. Phantom Mirria.... that just sounds so right, doesn't it? Her ability to move at such an amazing speed made every fight scene she was in very interesting and worthwhile. To dare investigate the organization takes backbone and nerves of steel. Did I mention she looks amazing? Probably, but it's worth hearing twice.
Riful. Ah, Riful. At first, she seemed like nothing but a sadistic villain, but turned out to be much more than that. Her seiyu did an excellent job of conveying the character, whenever she spoke, you just knew she was in complete control of everything. Riful did let the Claymores get away when she could have basically snapped her fingers and killed them. It was too bad she didn't have any more appearance, I would have loved for her to aid the Claymores in the battle against Easley, or at least show up once more and display her dominance.
Galatea. Galatea was a character that grew a lot on me. Her first appearance left me with the impression of a mysterious, but somewhat evil woman. Her ability to sense and manipulate yoki played an interesting part in the Duff battle, and allowed for one of my other favorites, Jeane, to make it though. She let Clare and Jeane off the hook, and risked her life in doing so. She did it again in the final arc, and I admire her to death for it. There's just something about her very being that's very charismatic, not to mention she is one of the most beautiful Claymores.
Ophelia. I love Ophelia. From the very first moment I saw her sitting, patiently waiting for Clare to show up, to the last moment before her demise, she never disappointed me. She was sadistic, evil, selfish and cruel, but that never stopped me from admiring her. As most Claymores, her tragic background can account for her personality. I can't really put it into words, but to me, Ophelia is lovable and incredible.
Helen. Helen had a way of looking at things that seemed very unusual for a Claymore, she always managed to say something funny, regardless of the situation. I just love her attitude and comments, she brought some light into an otherwise dark atmosphere.

In manga poll she's gonna get more votes I think, many characters were pushed aside in anime to give more space to Raki, Clare and Priscilla. Miria's intelligence and insight were more exposed in paper version of Claymore and she was much more interesting character there.

If that's really Gal that Miata meets up with in chapter 74 in November...and she beats Miata or survives her? Believe me, she'll reach Teresa' status if that happens.

NOT really...anime Gal is WAY hotter than the manga. Anime Gal shows more edgy attitude than the manga..check out her majesty when she "threatens" those puny Slashers. Anime Gal has more face time and more interaction with Rubel. And unlike manga Gal, anime Gal has a more sunny outlook (in the end) than the manga where she disappears from chapter 62 onwards.

NOT really...anime Gal is WAY hotter than the manga. Anime Gal shows more edgy attitude than the manga..check out her majesty when she "threatens" those puny Slashers. Anime Gal has more face time and more interaction with Rubel. And unlike manga Gal, anime Gal has a more sunny outlook (in the end) than the manga where she disappears from chapter 62 onwards.

Yeah, that's why I said my opinion changed when I read the manga. She isn't portrayed very well in the anime but is a very interesting character in the manga.
