So if this is Shana II, what's Shana I, and do I need to watch it, and how does the movie fit into all this?
Well you can watch shana 1 on tv links i guess, but from what i hear the movie is just a retell of season one so i guess you could watch that instead, but the movie was just getting more people to watch it i supose ;)

I've got a small question.
I've recently gotten into this series by reading volume 1 of the manga and I'm planning to pick up the anime series sooner or later.
Is it a good idea to watch the first season instead of jumping off towards the newest second season?
Hmmm not sure really i guess you could watch the movie to get a small idea of what its like, but its up to you if you wanna skip to the second season or not. =]
The short answer: yes, it's up to you, but it never hurts to know as much as possible about what's gone on beforehand if you decide to jump into the middle of the story.
I'm not sure how much material the first manga volume covers, but...
...Shana is arc-driven rather than episodic, so there are characters in the later parts of the anime series' first season that are bound to return in significant roles sooner or later in the second season. (Having watched episode 1 of SnS II, I can think of a couple of characters whose presence would be more or less inexplicable to a total novice.) As a result, you'll probably miss some of these characters altogether if you jump straight from the first manga volume into SnS II, and even assuming some level of recap down the road, there's a good chance you'll be left wondering about the appearances, backgrounds, and motivations of several key players in Shana's universe.
If you haven't seen the first season, I would highly recommend that you watch at least the movie: it takes an hour and a half to retell the events of the first six episodes, and you'll be able to familiarize yourself with the protagonists and some of the basic workings of the world. Be mindful, however, that the end of the movie is merely the beginning of the Shana story; to fill in all the blanks, you'll need to know what happens between the end of the movie and the beginning of SnS II, a span of several books in the light novel series and eighteen episodes, less filler, of the anime. It's an awful lot to gloss over, and I think you'll enjoy the second season more if you watch the first season to get even a general sense of everything that's happened thus far. Besides, the first season is enjoyable in its own right. :)
edit: I don't mean to say that watching the series through is the only way to catch up on the story, especially since Shana exists in several types of media. Reading the novels would be another solution, as would reading as much of the manga as has been released, as would finding a synopsis. It does make a certain sense to watch the first anime season as a natural precursor to the second--all of the adaptations differ from one another, so you'll find some disjoint amongst novel, manga and anime--but in any case I'm just trying to advocate the idea that the more you know, the better prepared you'll be.

Question... is this anime like a girl version of Bleach? if it is I might consider watching it :) but if its just some normal kids using swords like their in the 20's I think I'll pass.
Girl version of bleach ?
The beginning follows the same formula of 'seemingly normal boy has his life turned upside down due to a chance encounter with a girl who has mysterious powers', but there is more to it. Shana uses a sword in battle, but she is pretty much the only one using a sword. This isn't about sword fights per se. But no - the majority of characters are most certainly not 'normal'. Not nearly as action-oriented as Bleach.
I would suggest checking it out - chances are you would like it.

I'd say that it is nothing at all like Bleach. Shows like Bleach focus on battle or getting ready for battle while relationship is just a spice to flavor it. By contrast Shakugan no Shana is largely focused on relationships and mysteries where battle is the spice that flavors it.
That doesn't mean you won't like it. To answer your specific questions, most of the characters do not use swords and the main characters are teenagers.

If that answer was too confusing, I'll try:
So if this is Shana II, what's Shana I, and do I need to watch it, and how does the movie fit into all this?
Shakugan no Shana I was a 24 episode TV series that aired 2 year ago.
Shakugan no Shana II is a new TV series which is currently airing. It is the second season of the same show. It picks up after episode 24 of the first season.
Shakugan no Shana Movie is a movie length retelling of the first 6 episodes of Shana I. It is the first story arc and introduces the characters.
You do need to watch Shana I to completely understand Shana II. There are no optional episodes you can skip since everything has some relevance to the story. If you are impatient you can watch the Shana movie since that does tell the story of the first story arc so it will at least introduce you to the characters.

It's shown every week like any other regular Japanese animation series that's aired on TV. The earliest air time is Fridays at 0125. The time provided in question is Japan Standard Time.
Hello, i got a question.
How many of the novels does Shakugan No Shana span over?

Shakugan no Shana is currently 17 novels: I to XV, 00, and S.
XVI is coming out fairly soon, and there's been speculation that the novels may only go till XVII, though that's hardly an absolute. (as long as there's the money....)
season 1 covers material from volumes 1 to 9. its assumed from the opening season 2 will cover at very least up to 14

Why SnS is broadcasted late at midnight (1.25 am Japanese time) ? I suppose that only those adult animes are broadcasted in such time slot and SnS is not definitely one of those adult animes.

Usually golden-time shows are front-pagers in weekly Shonen Jumps.

Because late night does not mean adult. SnS is otaku aimed and almost all otaku aimed shows air at night, regardless of content. Children's shows usually get the early morning slots and the prime time slots go to the popular teenage male/family aimed shows for the most part.

Thanks for explanation. I suppose that 10-11pm is still okay. But 1.25 pm is considered as early morning and it is way past midnight.
I have another question to ask. There are hundreds of episodes for Bleach and Naruto. Why does SnS not capable of putting up hundreds of episodes like them? Is it because of content wise?
I know, some things cannot be compared. I was hoping that current 24 episodes per season can be extended a bit, without dragging the show too much.

That's because SNS is completely in a "different" category. As you can see most anime series are schelduled for 12-24-26 episodes, and rarely beyond (the bigger have most of the time like 36 or 50-52 episodes)
Bleach and Naruto are peculiar since they are mainstream shounen, which are based on a long story, especially that their respective manga aren't done at all. In this case, the productors just make "fillers", giving time the manga to go on, so they can catch up the main plot, instead of deviating (which can bring issues later on)
I insisted the "mainstream" part, as only this kind of series are popular enough so they can be worthy to go beyond the usual "life span for animes", such animes are restricted to prime time, and usually got their content fitting their demography, so absolutely no "mature" or conceptual anime can get such screetime.
That said, the other problem is also the producers and sponsors, which are obviously betting on safe franchise (so popular shounen manga), which can permit such long series.
Usually, an anime getting beyond 50 episodes is just draining budget too much, and doens't interest the watchers much after a period of time.
in any case, Shana is obviously not a kind of story which can fit in such treatement. Basically speaking, splitting a series/story into several seasons is much better, budget and content wise.

The movie and the TV series had a different conclusion for the fight against Friagne. Which was closer to the novel?
Klashikari
2007-10-14, 04:27
The movie.
They completely stripped the "trigger happy" point, and alastor scene forthe anime, because that would somehow "dampen" the Tenpa Jyousai for the bal masqué arc. (though it does look like a deux ex machina as result)
IIRC, aside of the usual "skipped" daily moments and such, the movie sticks very closely to the novel.
Anh_Minh
2007-10-14, 04:54
So... Back when she executed the Tenpa Jyousai, Shana should have had nothing to fear?
Klashikari
2007-10-14, 05:04
Not exactly. Just like how Alastor explained, even though Shana has the capacity to unleash completely Alastor, this final attack isn't something without any danger. Hence, it should be only used as a last resort.
That said, the first manifestation of Alastor in the novel was enough to make it clear that Shana might survive from the Tenpa Jyousai. Chances of "survive" are not exactly known, though someone might correct me so.

A question for novel readers.
I've been reading SNS light novels in Chinese, up to book 10. The problem is, my Chinese is lacking a bit. This wasn't a big problem with previous books, since I had the first season to help me out. But book 10, of course, became a problem as my apparent lacking Chinese skills prevent me from understanding everything. I won't mention details because of spoilers, but it should be obvious for novel readers.
So my question is, does the anime return to where it diverged from the novel? The first two episodes seemingly goes off on a different arc altogether. Is this the new direction of the anime or something? Or will they return to where things got off track in book 8/9?

It is impossible to know the answer to that since it hasn't happened yet! We can't know if the anime will return to the novels until the anime returns to the novels. :heh:
It is worth noting though that so far this arc seems to be devoted to redacting the anime back to the same path as the novels. Events are proceeding differently, but they are serving the same purpose as some events that were left out of the first season or else changed from the novels in the first season.
So, I can say that it will probably return to where things got off track. But no promises because I cannot forsee the future.

stuff that happened up till there...you know, school material. Shana getting lessons from Chigusa, Yuji training, Alastor talking to Chigusa while taped to a phone, Yoshida and Shana starting to argue about Yuji, etc. Twins show up in this one too, though I don't think they actually do anything yet (think the town goes fuzetsu at the very end)

So I guess there hasn't been any leaks or episode titles which might imply anything.
I know eventually the anime has to return to the novel storyline. I just hope they don't skip over any materials.

What type of sword is Nietono no Shana? I think I recall Yuuji referring to it as an Odachi... Or is it just a plain katana?
So in the novels, the last arc for season 1 (the Bal Masque, Fountain of Existence, Hecate x Yuuji) never happened?
What type of sword is Nietono no Shana? I think I recall Yuuji referring to it as an Odachi... Or is it just a plain katana?
katana has become a sort of umbrella term for curved japanese swords. But of course as with most things, there are various classifications:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katana#Classification_of_Japanese_swords
Nietono no Shana is a 130 cm sword (108.3cm blade with a 21.7cm hilt). feel free to call it any name that applies.
So in the novels, the last arc for season 1 (the Bal Masque, Fountain of Existence, Hecate x Yuuji) never happened?
nope, never happened. I suppose they did it because it wasn't very clear in the novels what exactly Bal Masque's objective was back during s1 production.

When Trigger Happy hits, it causes the Denizen inside the Flame Haze to appear in the world.
BECAUSE it requires so much Power of Existence, the Denizen will fear causing the world's balance to fall apart and will retreat to the Crimson World.
I'm new to the whole Shakugan no Shana universe, and I was wondering what Shakugan No Shanatan was?
It is just a simple bonus where characters act weird, lots of comedy, lots of fun, and Shana becomes small.
It takes scenes from the actual show and modifies them into jokes as well.

Anime, sorry for forgetting to mention that
Anime, sorry for forgetting to mention that
since various events have been rearranged or outright changed in the anime version, the novels provide no definite insight as to what will or won't happen in the anime, and there's no magazine spoilers that have particularly addressed any such issues.
however, going off the anime, episode 6 and 7, and the fact that Ogata addresses Ike, seems to be a fairly reasonable indication that Ike is not a torch. However, torches can take years to burn out, so in fact just about anyone can be a torch, even if they're acknowledged by those who haven't been exposed to the world of the Crimson realm.

So i was wondering if someone can explain what these actually mean?
SO I was reading some of the entries in Wiki and I notice soemthing:
Alastor is listed as a Lord of the Crimson Realm
Miriham (aka Skelator) is listed a Crimson Lord
And you have others listed as Crimson Denizen.
So i was wondering if someone can explain what these actually mean?
as far as anyone can tell, they are nothing more than a power ranking title. for example, Hecate, Sydonay and Bel Peol are all considered crimson lords (Guze no Ou) just like Alastor/Tiamat/Marcosius/etc.
however, (to take an example from this season) Mare is considered a denizen. (Guze no Tomogara)

if you want to be safe, you can watch the Shana-tan specials and the hot springs OVA at the end of the series. (shana-tan is parody anyway, so it's probably best after you've had a full sense of the characters in the first season) OVA is after 13
(twins arc) if you want to see it then though.
movie is just a (arguably superior) retelling of the first 6 or so episodes (the Frigane arc), so feel free to watch that anytime after that.

The DVD specials are parodies so you should watch them just after the episodes they make fun of. That way they are funnier since the episodes are fresh in your mind.
Shana-tan is after episode 8
Shana-tan Returns is after episode 16
Hecate-tan is after episode 24
The OVA is best seen after the show is done even though it takes place a bit earlier than that.
As ashlay said, the movie is just a retelling of the first 6 episodes, but if you watch it right away you'll won't enjoy it as much because you've just seen the bloody thing. Watch the whole series first and then enjoy the movie since it will have had a time to settle.

May I know what is your reason for watching OVA after the show is done? Watching episode 17 to 24 should not have much effect on understanding the OVA. The only thing I can think of is that the reason why Ogata was so desperate to confess to Tanaka at Episode 18 due to her failure to do so at the OVA. Correct me if I am wrong.

Just that I felt the rhythm was better if you watch it after 24. That's probably why they didn't make it until after 24. It certainly doesn't break anything if you disagree and watch it after 16. This is just a matter of the feel of the show.
There are much better reasons to watch the movie after the series is done. There is one particular difference between the movie and episode 6 which will have a strong impact on the experience of watching episode 24.

It's not a bug, it's a feature.
Something's been bothering me. When a person burns out as a torch, they are forgotten and erased, right? To a parent, it's like they never had a son/daughter. But, what if the parent becomes a torch and burns out? What does the child think?

they figure they're an orphan, or their parents sent them to live there, or something of that nature.
however, your confusion regarding the whole issue brings up the key reason why there are such things as Flame Hazes trying to uphold the balance of the world: even if you forget someone, there's still telltale signs that they existed, or rather, their lack of existence can become noticeable. As tomogara consume more and more humans, more and more logical inconsistencies start to pop up, and reality as a whole becomes even more damaged.

How was Reiji Maigo created in the first place?
That will be explained later in season 2. If you want to enjoy the show, then I'd suggest you just wait for the answer. If you really need the answer, regardless of the fact it is extremely important to the plot, then you may read below and it will spoil you.
Hogu are created out of needs and desires. A Guze no Tomogara named Pheles fell in love with a torch, so to live forever with him she created the Reji Maigo from their love so that he could live forever. Read the Shakugan no Shana Terminology and Metaphysics Discussion Thread (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=56148) if you want more details.

They are all different versions of "desu" and work the same way.
de arimasu=desu
de arimasu ka=desu ka
de arimashita=deshita
etc.

de arimasu=desu (Present/Future Tense)
de arimasu ka=desu ka (Present/Future Tense [Question])
de arimashita=deshita (Past Tense)
You tack on "ka" to any Japanese sentence and it automatically becomes a question. It's not like English where you phrase the sentence differently. One of the few points of grammar in which Japanese is actually easier.
For example:
de arimashita ka=deshita ka (Past Tense [Question])

A small detail about de arimasu that bears mention is that it isn't just some unique quirk of Wilhelmina shared by nobody else in the world. De arimasu is a linguistic mark of the aristocracy in an ancient era of Japan's history. By speaking this way, Wilhelmina sounds very old fashioned.

Yeah, and a minor character in Genshiken and a whole bunch of characters in other shows which don't occur to me at the moment. Quite a few characters have it as a linguistic habit to show that they are very old fashioned.
It's nice to explain the definition of "de arimasu," but it is probably more meaningful to explain what it tells the viewer about a person who says it.

Ah, so that's it.
All I knew was that "~de arimasu" was the longer form for "~desu" (desu is kind of the equivalent of a contraction in english, only now it's used as the formal form and "~da" is informal). That's certainly interesting. Cookies for you for knowing such an obscure nugget of knowledge! :D

general question regarding the WHOLE SnS series
I don'nt know where to post this cause theres a lot of threads going on but this one seems the most "generic discussion" thread so here goes:
Is yuji really NOT the main protagonist anymore because he fused with serei no hebi? I heared that yuji doesn't exist anymore and he's the MAIN vaillain.
can anyone update me as to what happened AFTER volume 18(lightnovel) of the series? did this series end there?... cause it's kinda bugging me since I read stuff over at wikipedia.
I don't mind spoilers so go ahead and please tell me the whole story after he fused with serei no hebi. also with IKE(i know he burnt out after he got dumped) and Yoshida(said she was still in shock but what happened to her after that?)
thanks

1.Yes Yuji became "Snake of the Festival" Sakai Yuji and is pretty much the strongest "villain" so far as he was able to "kill" Margery, beat the crap out of Wilhelmina, and capture Shana
2. It's Volume 16
3. Also, SotF Yuji wants to change the truth of the world and he needs Shana for that
4.What the fuck is up with that Wikipedia article
This should really go in the novel thread

yea, im confused too, i havent read anything about yuuji knowing IKE was a torch...

I think this confusion stems from the Wiki article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Shakugan_no_Shana_characters) on Shana's characters, which states Ike being a Torch. Seeing as actual novel readers have no idea what we are talking about, I think it would be safe to assume that is malicious information someone introduced :heh:

Accurate in terms of storyline, yes. But a lot of details were mistranslated. For example, Shana's word for "killing intent" was "kill" in the English version, which Viz may have suggested to keep but I feel that is inaccurate.

I've tried searching for this question as to not repeat it. I only have the anime to base my knowledge off of thus far so maybe this was explained in the novels.
It's said that people are just forgotten, but what happens in the case of couples (not just couples but for the sake of my example I'll use couples). An example: A man has worked for 15 years of a marriage to support a family while the woman is a stay at home mom. If the man were to disappear wouldn't the family be a little curious how they were able to support themselves without a job? Or better yet, wouldn't they be a little curious how she had a kid?
If this hasn't been explained in the novels either, what do you speculate happens in these situations?

It's said that people are just forgotten, but what happens in the case of couples (not just couples but for the sake of my example I'll use couples). An example: A man has worked for 15 years of a marriage to support a family while the woman is a stay at home mom. If the man were to disappear wouldn't the family be a little curious how they were able to support themselves without a job? Or better yet, wouldn't they be a little curious how she had a kid?
If this hasn't been explained in the novels either, what do you speculate happens in these situations?
i think someone had already asked something along the same line.
this is how consuming POE disrupt the balance of the world (these contradictions won't just go away). otherwise the guze no ou wouldn't need to hunt down their own people.

Well when Yuji turns into SnH Yuji His famliy forgets about him but they still remember Shana
That has to be really really sad. This does raise another question: How do they view Shana now that Yuji has disappeared from their minds? Next door neighbor, perhaps?

How many and which volumes of Shakugan no shana have been animated?
Animated: 2 seasons
1st season containing 24 episodes
2nd season containing 20 episodes so far
I also have a question, i heard that there will only be 3 more episodes of the 2nd season (after the 22nd one), is this true? If so have they announced a third season? And how long would that third season take to make?

If I'm not mistaken Shakugan no Shana Second has only 23 and 24 remaining. And as for a third season, nothing has been announced yet. so that means it's going to be at least 6 months, and in all likelyhood longer than that.
I've watched the entire first season of shana but haven't yet watched season 2. I heard it was "overly" ecchi/fan-servicey..... is this true. I mean First season didnt really have much in the way of fan-service/ecchiness but Im just curious about second season. thx!

'a lot of people claim it'? Who are they? Shana has really few ecchi scenes, 2nd season even less...
Dragon-Emperor
2008-03-19, 23:19
It isn't an 'ecchi' anime in the least. It has a few scenes, no more than the average anime. It isn't fanservice, it doesn't have excess amounts of anything like that at all. If a pool scene offends you, the preview for the next episode that contains it should give you enough warning to not watch the episode if it offends you. That's as bad as it gets afterall.

Yep, but as of now, the anime has started an anime-only arc and not following volume 16.
Was a Shakugan no Shana boxset ever released?
Does Shakugan no Shana Season 3 will come?
Does Shakugan no Shana Season 2 will come?
If you're talking about a release in the west, I don't think there's been any information thus far.
Ahhh, my mistake. I mean Season 3 ;)
I have a question......what exactly is Shana's age(or if she has an undertermined age. what age is she supposed to be portayed as?). Yuji is 17 amirite?
What about Wilhelmina(just curious)

I believe the Flame Hazes have undetermined ages.
Shana has the appearance of an 11-12 year old.
Wilhelmina has the appearance of in her early 20s.
Yuuji is 15.
So yuji is basically a pedo LOL
i thought he was 17......meh lol

Wilhelmina <3
Well, I wouldn't go so far as to call him a pedo. :heh:
While Shana does have the appearance of someone just hitting their teens, keep in mind that her real age is stated to be much closer to Yuji's, possibly even a little bit older than him.
wait...i thought they just said her real age was never stated Lulz?

Not the quantity but the range :D
Now maturity... that's another factor. Shana reminds me of a seven-year old with the knowledge (not wisdom) of a sage.

Yeah, it lists it, but it's like I told you before.
For instance, Wilhelmina's says "Unknown (Appearance around early 20s)".
Only the normal humans have exact ages, Flame Hazes have unknown ages with appearances, and Denizens just don't have anything there.
ohhhh I knew i saw "20" in there
but I didn't know it said "appearance"......(unsure which kanji that was)
yeah Wilhelmia looks around 20-21 imo so i guess that makes sense.

I have a question about Margery
first of all she's gotta be like whut 28-29?
and...does she ever...i dunno have a "thing" for anyone.
i always thought either Eita or Keisaku might have liked her somehow (but then again i haven't seen second season at all yet so.....i wouldn't know if something does happen between them) but maybe in the novels perhaps?

Read the handful of posts above yours just a little more carefully. They've all been around for quite some time. They don't age, remember. Margery is dedicated to getting revenge on Silver, and you're mistaking her relationship with her subordinates for something else.

how come she stays so young but people like margery look old. is that just how they are when their "born" or w/e

Hi i have some questions for novel readers. *SPOILERS FOR NON NOVEL READERS*
First of all, i get that Yuji willingly fuses with the Snake of Festival thing from the novels threads, but why? THere was something mentioned about ending the war between Flame Haze and Guze no Tomogara, and restoring world balance or something, but I didn't quite get why fusing with Snake of Festival would solve that. Second question is, is Yuji actively being controlled by the SNake of Festival, or has he been tricked or corrupted into thinking that what he is doing is good? Or is Sakai Yuji "dead" and it's Snake of Festival controlling his body now? Third question is, how exactly does Wilhelmina try to stop Shana's feelings for Yuji? From the novels thread, i get it was by force, but what, did she try to kill Yuji again? That's the only reason I can think of that he would retaliate and nearly kill her. Last questions (lol sorry so many) did Yuji stop himself from killing Wilhelmina, or did someone stop him?...

So, BM still follow Snake even after a 5000+ year absence (which I can't really see as being "Just As Planned"), and seem content to go along with his plans for world peace though domination.
WTF? Can you explain a little bit more of that.
Maybe they're in it for the lulz, since kicking Flame Haze ass seems to be part of the equation... :p Since otherwise, they're already strong enough that they don't really have much to gain from peace, right?
I get the feeling after watching anime series (I cant read japanese :( ) that it might be so, that only Hecate is the person who knows the truth behind bringing back Snake. The other ones might belive he just going to make them even stronger and dominate the world.
Or they might just know it, as some people say in novel thread that Guze is more of like none material world. So Denizens start running over to earth to feel the material world and they liked it.
Or maybe, the Guze have been.... Well, that is my secrete.

Lol... that joke had me searching for the nursery rhyme, because I've never heard it before! :heh:
I kinda miss the random mild fanservice, or rather the relaxed atmosphere then that actually made the scene fit in. Guess the first meeting is always the most memorable? The absence of Shana-tan and worldwide melonpan shortage made me crave for her rudeness even more, as the plot gets even more uptight.
Hopefully, hopefully... there'll be an OVA of some sort. Have Shana gone to a beach before? I can't seem to recall, but I can already see it in my mind. :D (Yeah, probably because of this (http://moe.imouto.org/post/show/20222/beach-bikini-konoe_fumina-margery_daw-ogata_matake).)

I think Yuji's father said they didn't have another baby until 16 years later. Initially, I didn't know Yuji was born from a pair of twins, so it was confusing. Speaking of which, was Yuji being born as twins mentioned directly in the anime? I don't seem to recall...

Season II, Episode 22
I rewatched Yuji's conversation with his dad & found that part still confusing as ever.
It started with the reason why his dad & mum got married so young; because they ended up with "a baby". After which Yuji asked "Me?" but his dad didn't respond.
Then he said the delivery was a mess (but didn't say if the child survived).
The doctor said they won't be able to bear a child anymore, but it was a false diagnosis and "not until sixteen years later did we get a new baby".
So if the first delivery was the twins, with Yuji being one of them, why "a baby"? Or was that fact stated explicitly somewhere else, or some misintepretation in the subs?

That doesn't give any more credence to Yuji being part of a twin. If there are no other references, I can only say that the ambiguous conversation in the anime failed to bring up the fact solidly, and any theory on him being part of a twin must have clearly come from content in the light novels.

What are you talking about? While the word "twin" was never mentioned, you can imply it from the context that Yuji was indeed a twin. First delivery, not until 16 years another delivery, one that was not able to live versus one that was able to. Unless you have bad inference skills, you can tell that Yuji used to be a twin.

I rather wonder if third season will be the last one or will they keep up the good work?
I have been thinking a lots about the storyline in anime and there is a lots of potential if the outcome is right.
I do not mind if the third season will be the last. I just want it to be really mastepiece made, even better than first season. :p
Anyway my opinion is that it will be a third season. I'm not much of a manga/novel reader, but there are so many questions concerning the anime ending like:
- Whats whit Pheles anyway ? She dissapeared, not much about her, she gaved Yoshida the summoning-cross-pandative-thingy and nothing about it ( I'm talking about action here !) !
- Need more information about Outlaw!
- Need more flashbacks about characters history ( don't kill me! not many people like flashbacks, but they are informative )
- Sabrac is too cool to die, he should fight again in third season!:heh::heh:
- Silver died too silly, must have revenge someday. Or is it something different about him? since its inside Yuji, like bieng able to use Silver himself at will at some point ?
- Aaaa!!! No kiss, no love confessions! Just a smile as hint!
- Hecate seems to turn more human cause of the past emotional memories ?
- Yuji became strong and theres even more mystery about him. He is the biggest question of all, to what HE is exactly ?
- Yuji's family has some strange things about it. Like his mysterious dad, makes me wonder.
- Mergary's past is still confusing ! Also what will become of her subordinates ?
- Need more information about the lords of the crimson realm, or I didn't pay attention ? Like how did Marcosias end up whit Margery ? Or Tiamat whit Wilhelmina ?
- Bad guys still out there.
- I need SHIRO back, he was too cool, he should fight Sabrac! ( just joking ! Ignore this! :p:heh: )
- And many many more.
So many questions and so many things are in suspension. This can only be solved by a third season. :)
A movie won't be enough or OVA for these questions to be answered, unless there are meant to be as big as a 13-24 episode season.:eyespin:
Of course my felling is that my questions are already answered somewhere in the novel section of this forum. But I almost clicked on the spoiler tags without reading the novels yet. It could ruin my wait.:eyespin:
Right now i'm just asking in a total anime-perspective.
Just thinking aloud.

BTW, Sabrac cant die. When he entered human realm he prayed on humans like any Guze no Tomogara would do, he even played with his pray. Until a day he fell in love with one, a human girl he had chosen as his pray. She in turn didn't like the fact that Sabrac was consuming humans to live but she understood that he had to do that, they also wanted to be together forever as she was just a mortal human. So they created a hogu, making Sabracs beloved into a mystes. Hogu functioned as a link between them, making Sabrac and his love into one being that share PoE. So its like if Sabrac is killed, he still resign into his love and if Sabracs girlfriend is killed she is resining in Sabrac. By using power of that Hogu she was able to blend into an area and become one with it. But that was not perfect as they still needed PoE to live on (Not as smart as Johan apparently) so Sabrac took a job of assassin and collected payment in PoE. That why he always intends to kill all his targets in one blow, to minimise waste of PoE during a fight.
With time Sabrac got to know of existence of Reiji Maigo and devotes him self to hunt it, with that in his possession he would never need to consume humans or be an assassin and he and his love could live together forever. But as we know by the story, it did not turn out very well and he never got his hands on it.
Instead he run him self almost out of PoE and was almost near death (They both, he and his love. As if he die, she will die to.) thats when his beloved girlfriend had to force him to turn to Bal Masqué. In exchange for PoE they shared information on Reiji Maigo, Bal Masqué was able to conjure a plan. Using Sabracs skills and lots of PoE they made a trap and successfully eliminated that mystes Johan. But we know what happened from there on.
Dunno me, I just made most of this up.

actually there something slightly wrong with that. they cut the part with the merge from vol 14 of the novel. Vol 16 is the current novel is about shana and co finding out about what happened to Yuji. And vol 15 was essentially all flash back.

Well not exactly. as far as i could understand
Guze no Ou literally translate into "Guze's King". So Guze no Shukensha would be Guze's Sovereign. But i suppose you could think of it as "Sovereign of the Guze" you are not entirely wrong in that.

I was wondering if someone could identify a song for me from Season II Episode 13. It's the song that's playing in the last scene. Here some more detail to help you figure out what scene I'm talking about:
It begins after they return the festival area to normal. Ike falls onto the grass and says "The First Day has Finally come to an end". It is followed by Yoshida giving Yuji a beverage.
I'd really like to know the name of that song and learn how to play it on piano. So if you know the name (or by some miracle happen to have a link to some sheet music) I would be very grateful.

I looked around to see if this has been asked, but couldn't find anything--so apologizes if I just missed it! But...do we know how Yuji became a Torch, exactly? Maybe I just missed something, but it seems like it was never made clear whether he was killed or just never human in the first place.
No, not the clear details. But apparently, he was killed/eaten by a Denizen somewhere at some time and became a torch without knowing it.

At least he was lucky that the Reiji Maigo was transferred to him while he was a Torch. I wonder if it's possible for a Torch to eat a Tomogara.

IIRC Tenmoku Ikko ate Denizens, and he was a torch.

Mm...aren't torches are unaware of the process by definition? It just seems like the identity of the Denizen who killed him could have been an interesting story point. Such an obviously good one that I thought I must have missed it somewhere. Oh well.

Just wondering, will there be by any chance a 3rd season of Shana?

I would love to know that for a fact.
All I can do is be guessing that we will need to wait and see. How long? Pretty long...
Shakugan no Shana season 1 October 6, 2005 – March 23, 2006
Shakugan no Shana season 2 October 5, 2007 – March 28, 2008
So if there will be any season 3, I belive it will be betwin october and march...
In mean while, add this link to your favorits http://www.saimoearena.com/vote.html and support Shana the best way you can by giving her your vote! She is actualy on the first place right now :)
