lol, at first I thought those specials would have been pointless but I saw the Wilhelmina one at my friend's house and I ended up watching the rest on YouTube. XD @ making Yuji look like a pervert in half of them ^_^

There aren't any direct downloads for the specials that I know of. You could try looking on megauploads or rapidshare by typing shana-tan followed by either megaupload or rapidshare on a search engine, but that's all I know in regards to direct downloads. Even worse is that those files might be found often in mp4 format.

well, they did have that bit where Margery stole Tiamat.... ("ugly", "odious", "oddball" :rolleyes:)

I'd say the main problem is that while Alastor can be considered almost a separate entity from Shana (thanks to stuff like the phone conversation), it's kind of hard to separate Tiamat from Wilhelmina, since all she does is put one liners inbetween Wilhelmina's thoughts, or Marcosius from Margery, since all he ever does in his spare time is make jokes about his flame haze. As for Behemoth, him and Kashim rather lack character after only one appearance in the anime, and its kinda hard to make fun of someone that lacking in oddities (especially when we've got the far cuter Hecate to cover the "emotionally detached" cliche)

It seems that Shana-tan Begins covers only up to episode 3 of season 2 when Fumina was introduced. I was a bit disappointed with that, given the fact that there are 2 Shana-tan episodes for season 1. (24 episodes divided by 3 Shana-tan episodes equals 12 episodes for each Shana-tan episode.) I thought that Shanatan Begins would cover up to episode 12 of season 2 approximately.

Nevertheless, I enjoys this Shana-tan. Definitely a must-see for Shana fans.

Yoshida's character at certain angered moments in these Shana-tan specials sure reflects a lot like a ticked off Fuu from Samurai Champloo. Come to think of it, the seiyu did both characters.

How come they haven't put other characters like Chigusa, Tanaka, Keisaku, or Ogata in the specials yet?

I don't think so. Since the next Shana-tan is probably based on episodes 4-6 and Sydonay never appeared since episode 2, he should not be appearing in next Shana-tan.

I found Shakugan no Shanatan really moe and hilarious for the most part. :)

I think the only thing I kind of didn't like was how they spoofed the Yuji/Hecate synchronization scene.

To have a scene that's similiar to sex, but obviously not exactly sex, in your canon anime, and then to spoof it as a sex scene in short comedy sketches... that's just a bit too cute and manufactured to me.

I wouldn't mind it at all with an anime like Excel Saga, but with an anime with a plot and story that takes itself very seriously like Shakugan no Shana does... I didn't really like it. It's like I can almost see the Shana writers saying "Let's put in this synchronization scene between Yuji and Hecate that's similiar to sex, so that we can then spoof it as sex in our comedy sketches!".

Yeap, I was thinking the same like you. The scene in Hecate-tan is too much. Dialogue like " I am spreading out." and " Why are you on top of me?" is giving wrong ideas to some people. Certainly, there are many ways to make funny scenes without involving these scenes that are similiar to sex.

Right now I have already watched the Shakugan no Shana-tan Begins special.

Yoshida has been reserved her special post to spy and eavesdrop on Shana-tan's close proximity to Yuuji, and the irony is that Ike is now spying on Yoshida to satiate his own obsession towards her from his own post too.

I dropped dead with laughter when near at the end of the clip they introduced Margery with a cute-moe voice writing down what she did today using Marchosias book as a pinky-diary.:heh:

This special parodies the events that took place in episodes 1 and 2 of the second season.
Who could have known that Yuuji's sense of direction is so abysmally low in comparison to Saginomiya Isumi, since he ended up in weird places searching for Satou's home.:eyespin:

At the middle, you will see detailed explanation on torch. Sakai Yuji is technically immortal as Kinny Riddle explained. He will stay as what he is, meaning to say he cannot grow anymore.

Bel Peol really does make a good bartender. The insect eyecatchers were rather bizarre. Pity that I didn't see Pheles whatsoever.

That scene with Bifrons... once more with the indecent elements. That part was very disturbing if one was familiar with a certain anatomy structure.

Sabrac double-dating Wilhelmina and Margery... well, he potentially could be a ladies man.

Fun episode though...After a somewhat disappointing season was nice to see them poke fun at themselves again. :p

Normally after having watching something like Fumina Konoe Strikes Back I'd say "I want my 9 minutes back," but that is quite possibly the single most disturbingly hilarious omake I've ever seen. :D

The .44 Magnum scene was epic. Shana-tan on the counter eating, Bel-Peol lamenting that Sab-chan needs to go home to his wife and washing dishes, an after-session... And then right after that Shana-tan popping out of a melon bread.

WTF. :heh:

As everyone else here has said, I loved the Shana-tan Yoshida. Along with those, I loved how she rejected Ike and how she blushed during the parade. Am I the only one who heard a very little bit of her Chizuru (Kanokon) voice when she said "You make me blush."?

Nope, I'm sure others heard her too. But even if I did, I refuse to accept that reality of connecting any part of Chizuru to Kazumi. So she doesn't.

The first half of the second season could have so easily been redeemed had Shana and Yoshida just teamed up with the resolve to kill Konoe like that. Would have been so much more enjoyable...

Still, Konoe didn't appear nearly as much as I expected for something entitled "Konoe Strikes Back".

And I really can't take Sabrac seriously anymore. Which just furthers his awesomeness meter somehow.

Does anyone still remember the special feature that was played at Dengeki's Movie Festival just before the Shana movie started? Well it was released on DVD and sold at Dengeki's 15th anniversary event and I managed to snag a copy.

If anyone forgot what it was about, the basic jist of it was that the characters from Shana, Inukami and Kino no Tabi were all heading to the movie theatre to catch the 3 Movie Festival but all sorts of funny mayhem happens. The feature runs for just under 4 minutes. I have posted screencaps from the DVD below.

My favorite episode iswhen Shana gets jealous over Konoe (sorry if I spell it wrong). Thats just a cute story arc for Shakugan no Shana.

Guys, have you all forgetten about Shakugan no Shanatan G, which was released together with Shakugan no Shana S OVA Series Episode 1? I do not suppose so.

Yuji flashes Shana's body for Shana (in Yuji's body) to see, much to her disgust. Well, I guess that these Shanatans must have some mild sexual references, otherwise they will not be hilarious.

Direct quote from the fansubbers in the video: G is a reference to the Monster Hunter line of games, which tend to release a 'G' version on top of the regular game in which stronger monsters appear.

Well, they definitely are steering closer to a lot of hentai elements.

I don't know if I should be disturbed or grin at Kazumi's ecchi implications of Shana and Yuji-tan in an empty classroom with no one to bother the two.

The explanation of the Hougu forming certainly had some moments.

Now if they would only show Margery's front appearance when she was wearing the school uniform.

Why the heck is a horned beetle in Kazumi's room?! And who is this Reina person that she just mentioned?
