Does anyone here listen to the German band Rammstein?

A friend of mine is really into that band, god knows why.

^well, in my case, it's fun to listen to. Like Japanese music but in a different language; I don't understand much of it (not really), but it's nice.

The vids from the live concert are fun too. What other band is there that plays with flamethrowers during a song, anyhoo?

Lol they are a bit too friendly for my liking. They seem a bit too close if you know what i mean. I like one of their songs though " Sonne". They are too creepy IMO :heh:

^creepy they are, yes. if i remember correctly, they were arrested once for lewd behaivior during a concert since the act involved dildos and what seems to be sodomy. oh, and they made a video about a real story that involved cannibalism.

Rammstein are pretty good, IMO. I like them in sort of a way I like Japanese: I don't understand 80% of what they're saying! Their lyrics, combined with their music makes them sound hard rock-heavy metal, but not in the same way as English Heavy Metal-hard rock bands.

They were my fave band back in 2004. I like how they evolved from sampling heavy industrial metal into a melodic hard rock-ish sound.

Many songs are somehow ambiguous. But i like them ^_^
However, i for my part liked the first albums better than the new ones.

I think Sehnsucht was one of their best albums. Their music isn't as flashy as other bands, but it's the feeling and emotion of their music that counts over skillful melodies.

They are quite wacky, in my opinion. I loved their music video "Amerika". XD

not in the regular edition. If I'm not wrong, it was only on a 2-cd special edition of Mutter and as a b-side on a single (ich will).

it's just that I have heard opinions considering Rosenrot as a "lesser album"...:heh:

my favs form Rosenrot are Benzin, Mann gegen Mann, Rosenrot, Spring and Hilf mir :)

rosenrot contains supposed B-sides. Rammstein, being a cash cow for the label recorded fillers and added the B-sides and sold it as an album.

I love this band. It has come to be known amongst my friends that if you play it in the car with your windows rolled down, people will actually get off the sidewalk and the guys playing hip hop actually roll their windows up.

I am also listening to some of their songs. to be honest, they´re not really good at all...but...the three songs named below...I don´t know why, but there´s something within that makes me feel good ^.^

Funny thing about their music is that although it is a Hard Metal Rock sound, for the most part, once you translate most of the lyrics, they are very poetic, insightful and almost phylosofical and romantic. They are trully a great band.

I started in metal listening to Rammstein, and my favorite song is "Mein Teil" because I love the lyrics and I can sing it with my black/death vocals ;)
I heared the new Rammstein album is coming soon, but I don't know the exact date for the release :/

They sing Barbie girl, it's kind of funny. So in a sense it isn't a Rammstein song, but this was performed by them in the vid, and the vid is just a bunch of kids screwing arounf in the metaphorical sense.
