My understanding was that it aired late Saturday night (past midnight) so it was in fact very early Sunday morning.
The way the Japanese list their TV programs is that if it aired at 3:40 AM, then it would be listed as Saturday 27:40 (i.e. 3:40 past midnight).
All the same, please have some patience :)

Anyway, if it's the angel eater arc, i don't think it's that funny... Urd is the first one to have her angel removed, so she must spend almost all the time sleeping.. bahh :upset:

Actually it's all about Lind. She's really great in these specials, much better than in the manga. Hild is also marvellous.
As for Urd, when she was on screen, she was just amazing. Well, as always.

Yup, just 2 episode special. I just skimmed the raws and man, the fight scenes in this plus the vocal music were incredible! In one of the interviews with the VA on the official site, I made out that Kikuko Inoue said this special felt more like a film and yeah, I believe it would've been even better as a movie; better budget and everything, it would've been awesome. :)
I wonder what's next for the AMG anime franchise?

The artwork in this episode is the best I have seen in the series. Hilds face when she thought Keiichi shot at her was pricless. That moment was worth the whole episode.

I was not disappointed. Perfectly animated. And demon Belldandy made me drool and I'm a girl :D
They didn't show what happened to the devil-turned-angel. I watched the raw version so not sure whether they mentioned anything about it but yeah, don't know what happened to her.

She caused a lot of problems being Bell's second angel, so they had to find a new host for her. It happened to be a demon cat living in the temple. He never appeared in the anime, so I don't know what they are going to do here.

Was good fighting and stuff, very enjoyable and with Lind at the helm it really made a difference, being a full, "proper" battle rather than Belldandy's half-arsed ones, ala end of Season 1.
...until Belldandy let the creature go??? Lind was absolutely right when she insisted it must be killed. Ah dang it! I have to say Belldandy really spoils the battles.
The RAW I watched was also labeled wrong, and I ended up watching it in the wrong order!

A couple of notes about the new specials.
It is very clear that not only will Lind appear in the specials, but we will also see an appearance made by Peorth. Whether this will last through the whole of the specials I don't know. I do know that in the previews, Peorth can be seen in the background crying along with Urd and Skuld. We may also get to see Keichi have an angel for a brief moment. In the manga, Keichi had control of Cold Mint, Lind's other angel, during the period of the Angel Eater Saga. And we will also see a more adult Noble Scarlet make her debut once again.

Well, as stated in the first post of this thread, the TV Specials have not yet been licensed, therefore there is no current indication when they will be released in the U.S.

I certainly hope its not too long. I'm a huge AMG fan, and I already own the movie and first season, and I'm in the process of buying the second season. I will definetly be snapping this up as soon as it hits the shelves in the US. ;)
That'll probably be in at least a year if not more. I couldn't wait so I watched the raws. Pretty decent. Wish they would carry on with a TV Season 3.
Surprisingly enough, it wouldn't take them that long to catch up to the manga...Despite the manga being around for around 20+ years. I believe it's only released once a month instead of once a week like others.

Well I saw the raw today and it was OK, but they finished early with no follow up. I was almost expecting a 3rd episode but it occurred to me that they could use that for the first episode or two or s3, if they ever did one.
Angel Eater arc was prolly the best story in AMG for a long long.. long time (Though the Gate arc would be funny to see). It added a nice bit of dark seriousness to the whole thing, but not over the top. Showed Hild to be very devious. it would be nice if they got around to wrapping the whole series up though, liek thats gona happen!

I'm really suprised nobodys subbed it yet. But I guess it doesn't bother me because it leaves something to look forward too in the series because nobodys sure if there is gonna be a season 3 or not

I imagine that there will be a 3rd season later on this year, if I had to guess. The creator has said he wants to animate as much of the manga as possible, and with the series being a huge hit with both Japanese and American fans and almost twenty years of source material, I would be shocked if they decided to stop producing the anime now, especially with characters left to introduce such as Welsper and Siegel. So my guess we will see the debut of a third season within 2008 and the "Fighting Wings" Special released in English in time for Christmas.
But do you now when AonE and AnY translate the 2nd episode?
It was released earlier today. I watched the second fansub while eating breakfast this morning. :D

I just watched the 2nd ep and it's great. The battle sequences, art, and animation are all top notch for anime today. Some things I don't understand With the trees and ground exploding like that, it should get the people's attention.
Another thing is Belldandy got rid of the demon angel simply cause she's a high-level goddess. Doesn't feel like a deep plot to me.
Well i think it was well done,but its still a bit dissappointing that we get only 2 episodes,but yeah at least there is a hope now for the 3rd season.

Could anyone tell me what chapter is the ending of the 2nd season ?I didn't want to read the manga,cuz i prefer watching animes,but so far its been a year or more and we get only 2 eps which is not enough xD,whether there is going to be a 3rd season or not it still remains unknown,so i decided to read the manga.

Hopefully, we will see another whole AMG! season in the near future, but there has been no official announcements, or even reliable rumors so far.

What'll we see in the new season though? In S1, we got Bell, Urd, and Skuld, and to a small extent Lind. In S2, we got Peorth and Hild and if you'd like, pure demon Urd. Here, we have Lind again (Are there any Lind bathing suit pics?)...so what's next?
If this follows the manga, then Bell/K1 are at the same point since moment 1...they like each other but nothing touchy kissy...

AMG manga is still going strong with no signs of ending. And unlike other long running series this is one thats actually been good through out.There's enough manga material to make 2 or even 3 more seasons before it gets cramped.
I liked this OVA, but it would of been better as a three episode one, so we could see K3 getting his own angel from Bell for a while. The ova feels incomplete :(

I'd love to see a final resolution to the Belldandy x Keiichi relationship, but I agree it's unlikely to happen in any potential 3rd season, with the manga still going strong (and unresovled). ;)

It's been quite a while since I've read the Angel Eater arc, so I don't remember what chapters it involved. I suggest just reading the whole thing from the beginning; it's over 20 years old, but it's barely longer than Negima currently.
They put in just about everything I remember clearly, but I think they left a few things out of the middle. I also feel like the battle between Hilde and Lind and Keiichi was cut short, but meh.
I'm really wondering how they're going to resolve the devil in Belldandy, since the mechanism it was resolved by in the manga hasn't appeared in the anime at all.

Actualy it was, in the second OVA Bell turns the devil into an angel, and it joins her as a second angel.
In the manga though she has trouble controling her manga, and it swaps over to K3. Everyone else keeps calling it a former devil, but he refers to it as an angel (typical K3), so when he offers to let it 'live' in him, it imediatly jumps into him. He has trouble controling the magic aswell, and in the endthey give it to Welsper, with some hilarious consequences.
I wouldn't say it was more complex, rather it was more complete, there were no niggling questions left over with the manga. A 2 part ova leaves to much unanswered, not to mention to many chances for hilarity missed >.<

I agree, it should be interesting in seeing how they're going to bring in Welsper, especially since he does have roles in later arcs aswell. That said, for K3 to carry the angel around for a while is out of the question, unless they yet again change the manga. He's able to carry her, but things don't go very well, since he can not control her, hence they give it welsper.
It's one of the reasons why i've hated this series, it was billed as a faithful manga adation, but it's anything but. Would of been better if hey hadn't tried to brand it as a faithful transition.

If they do continue the series, I think that they would need to add Welsper, mostly because Belldandy cannot have both Blue Lance and Holy Bell as her angels. Or they could always attach Blue Lance to Marrler. In any case, I don't think that we will see a Season Three or hear murmurings of it until later this year towards the spring. I do think it is a great idea, as there are almost fifty volumes of AMG manga. I would love to see them explore the character of Hild a bit more. Does anyone know who the American voice actress is who plays her? She sounds quite fierce!

Lucy Todd does the English language voice of the the daimakaicho, Hild. The voice is very familiar, but I can't seem to find any information about what other characters she may have voiced.

Seems there's a third episode of this OVA. 2 which were aird, and one which is DVD only. So we may see Bell and K3 dealing with the devil/angel in that episode.
It makes sense when you look at it though, since both of the TV series had DVD only episodes. Wonder if anyone will sub the DVD only episode. None of them did the Season 2 ones which sucked..

That was Hild's interpretation, but I think it's because Bell is just extraordinarily pure even for a goddess.
Anyway, it was pretty cool that unlike in the manga Lind and 50% Hild actually got to fight for a moment before Mara interrupted this time. :D
I liked it, but kinda let down that they eluded to something that I, a non-magna reader, would never see unless they came out with more episodes...

juz watch AMG-Fighting wings on youtube, it was simply marvellous, though I had to admit I still prefer the first AMG Movie, I had stronger feelings on that movie and it was very touching but for Fighting wings it's really kinda cool to see Lind in action and Belldandy owns 2 angels....simply an eye opener...
BTW...anybody knows where to buy AMG-Fighting Wings DVD in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. OMG, I have been frantically searching for this DVD for so many weeks...

Based on the offical website, I think the Fighting Wings DVD is being released in Japan on April 25. I don't know if you get the Japanese releases in Malaysia or if you will have to wait for a local licence before getting it, but in either case if its not out yet in Japan, its not out yet anywhere. ;)

I think zrdb was referring to an actual licenced comercial relase of Fighting Wings in the US. Personally, I hope he is wrong as I would love to add it to my DVD collection. ;)
The manga, I got to admit - I am simply addicted to it. But I wish like the Japanese mangaka artists would hire these scantalators to translate each of their manga's and episodes accurately and then distrubute them throughout the U.S. liscensed. I know Dark Horse comics, have been doing that for quite a while but the translations only reach up to volume 11, when there are so much more for Ah! My goddess. Ditto on episodes as well. I wish they would just sub everything properly, rather than having some fan service sub them - since the videos always have a tendency to get removed. I really dislike American Dubbbed animes, just sounds really wierd.

And us here in New Zealand will only get the DVD is Australia ever gets the license to distribute the series 3 outside Japan. The only company is that of Madman Ltd that imports anime to us downunder. I hope it comes out this year.
