I am trying to find out which group did the better job on this series...
Look at these factors:
1] Video Quality
2] Audio Quality
3] Translations
Size is not an issue.
ps: I'm getting High speed on the 13th ^^
i may be wrong but i think the only group that completed the serie is Seichi.
anyway they did a good job imho. go for it :)
Don't forget Xenon Fansubs also subbed the entire series also. I personally like Seichi. Thats cool now you can dl anime to your hearts content, good luck with your anime downloading. :P

mententei loki ragnarok = 麺天帝ロキRAGNAROK = the heavenly emperor of noodles: Loki, RAGNAROK
Wow, now I can just imagine all the fanfics about that :D
Anyways, the actual name of the series is Matantei Loki RAGNAROK or 魔探偵ロキRAGNAROK.
Well, I've seen the xenonfansubs episode 1 and the seichi 1-26. There was a slight encoding problem in our (seichi) earlier releases since the encoder liked to smooth out a lot of the details, but by the end of the series, I believe our encodes looked pretty good.
LOL so he mispelled it, no big deal. I hope he didn't do it on purpose. :heh:
Yeah I also remember ppl were pissed about an MLR episode Xvid encode if I remeber correctly I had to disable ffdshow in order to play the video correctly, but then you guys switched it back after a backlash of angery fans.

heh, of course I didn't do it on purpose *sly look*
I personally like Xenon's fansub more. Seichi version doesn't run smoothly on my computer.
I liked both versions pretty well. If I remember correctly, Xenon's does have a large font size, and I found it to be a little bit distracting at some points, but would be good if you watch on a really large screen. Seichi has some great info on the mythology at the beginning of some episodes.
Just a note: I archive onto DVD, and I actually had to get a mix of both groups to fit all 26 episodes onto one disc.
I have watched both the Seichi and Xenon Fansubs, and think that both of them did a good job. However, I prefer the Xenon version, just because their English is a bit more fluid, and their explanations are also quite good. :)

zalas should mention that the encoding was done by a new encoder on episode 8 onwards, hence the change in quality.
I too believe the seichi encode has good video quality ;)
For the record, I though the font on seichi's rag was a bad choice.
I liked X-F Version the Best, Cause their encode quality was consistent.
Good editing, This includes good notes About Norse myth Reference too.
X-F's Version does feel more thought over.
Like i said erlier they did more Norse myth research, And they used the real norse names where they fit in good.
Seichi's version was not bad but X-F had a clear edge over Seichi with good consistent editing and consistent encodes.

Oh dear. I suppose it's time to close this thread before xris throws it onto the licensed anime graveyard thread where it will molder with the corpses of other such ill considered questions. :shudder:
