Making the favorite AB Poll! {Formerly: Requests for new threads}

Umm.. how about a best looking AB poll? We could restrict it to those who we know their names. (so all of Isley's army of ABs would be ignored). If that was ok, I could prepare a list of all ABs with known names from the manga/anime.

I was aiming actually for the best/coolest "looking" not just favorite overall.

Clare only had her legs and arms awaken so we don't know how her final awakened form would be but it wouldn't hurt to have her there.

fab 4? they passed their limits but didn't awaken so they don't count.

Even though we don't know their names, there are 4 male ab's that had significant battles with the claymores. There is the 6 armed one in the Paburo Mountains that the fab 4 fight against, and the 3 that come to Pieta on reconnaissance as Isley's scouts (chain guy, beetle youki manipulator, and multi legged bug). They have a lot more screen time as awakened than some of the named ones (Hilda and Jeans awakened forms for instance) and also have significant impact on the story. There is the AB that Clare and Ophelia go to hunt. The swan looking one who looks like a little girl in human form. I say we add the 5 of them to the list as well.

If the thread gets made I hope it is a multi vote like the most recent favorite character poll. That thread is fun :).

Agreed about those ABs and the multi vote.
But what should we name those ABs? writing Chain Guy AB is laughable IMO. lol
Maybe write a few words description in the option field and then reference them with screenshots in the first post? As I said, I have screenshots ready.

For the six armed guy I'd say "Male AB of the Paburo Mountains."
For the little girl maybe "Single Digit Awakened Female"

Isley's scouts are trickier. Maybe we identify them by the team that fights them? Miria teams AB opponent would be chain guy. Veronica teams AB Youki manipulator. Then Jean Team's blind folded bug guy?

That or a description of how they look or what they do, like youki manipulator, and blind folded bug. Maybe male chain whip AB? I'm not sure how much space there is for a description on a poll. So maybe they would just be named Isley scout 1, 2 and 3 with the picture doing most of the describing.

I am not sure what's wrong with Jean's picture. I think Alicia & Isley one are fine as well.

As for Agatha, I wouldn't want to post a picture of a naked body that's why I chose that shot so the whole body can be seen not just a regular naked body of a woman.
Anyway, you could link the album which I made which has the full sized images of all the ABs in case someone wanted to see the whole picture.

Valduran, I think either would work but if the whole thing can fit in the tiny 100x100 it would be best or a torso shot would be better I think

But if you'll take a second look at my avatar you'll see that that isn't especially true.
I usually clean the Black & Whites up a bit before I color them. It all depends on how much care is taken, and when they are resized to be 100x100, you don't notice really hardly any loss of clarity at all.

The second Alicia one is also better than mine & Agatha's first avatar is awesome (not the colored one). Both of your Riful's one are better than mine. I can't say I'm 100% happy with Isley, Agatha, Ophelia or Rosemary, but they are good enough for me.

I think I'd prefer not to add ascended Clare to this list since she isn't really an AB and her main character status would interfere with the poll. Thoughts?

It's going to be difficult in some cases to get good pics. Until something like an charecter book shows up there just won't be good full body shots of them. And in some cases full body shots aren't really that good. Yes Agatha, I mean you. Get a shot with the full body, the human "lure" won't be very visible, but zoom in too much and you won't get the real body.
Wonder if we will see a fully awakened Claire at some point?

Yeah, I agree about the impossibility of getting a perfect Agatha. Hence my acceptance of the current version. These are the best so far.

I'd like some slightly larger images for those characters who cannot be summed up in 100x100. While I'll put the tiny pic in the poll I can list a larger image for some, like Agatha in my first post. That'll help out anyone who doesn't think of Agatha's cute human face as the real AB. Isley and Jean might need this as well.

Well Negative dark, I think from a design point of view it is just too cruel for yagi to show us a bit of Clare's awakened form and not show us the whole thing at some point. Chekhov's Gun (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chekhov's_gun) sounds right for this.

This is just me but I think Clare does belong in the poll because she has shown us awakened limbs. Heck, that could even be her fully awakened form! (ok, it's not) Her protagonist status shouldn't make too much of a difference. She isn't the most popular character anyway on the other polls anyway :D. Now if you included Teresa on the AB list...

Oh we will definitely see a full ascended Clare someday. I have no doubt about that. I don't know how or when, but it seems clear that Yagi-sensei is moving in that direction and Clare can't stop her habit of ascending. Not to mention that the story is so tightly woven that Chekov's Gun does seem to apply. Anyway, that isn't really relevant to this discussion, so moving on...

While Clare has awakened her limbs, she has not yet Awakened. A few shape changed limbs don't count, do they? I haven't really made up my mind, so I am eager to hear how others feel about the pros and cons of including Clare in a list of ascended beings. Do people feel that she really belongs on that list?

Clare DID go over the Awakened Being stage. She wouldn't have been sent to those *impossible* missions if she wasn't an AB. Also, in the last episode, she is pretty much full Yoma, except that Raki did his *I am useless but I love you* speech and then ended up saving Clare from becoming full Yoma?

All in all, Clare is qualified to be an AB IMO.

I don't plan on voting for Clare, but I'm sure someone is going to complain if she isn't there. It can't hurt. If people don't like it, they can just not vote for her :D.

If we go by what Miria said in the slashers arc, all the fab 4 are "already awakened". Clare even smells like an awakened being. If the poll is only for people who have become awakened beings then Jean and Alicia technically do not belong either even though they did show us their full awakened forms. Clare's partially awakened form was a lot more useful than Jeans fully awakened form was. What Clare's form lacks in completeness it might gain in superb usage. :D.

Maybe it's just me... but kinda seems like a poll on coolest looking isn't especially fun, Half of them look utterly lame(coincidently the same half that also doesn't have actual personalities...so heh, I guess the votes would probably still be placed in the same way).

I say we just drop Clare since no one seems to really care if we include her, and go with "Favorite(FULLY AWAKENED :frustrated:) AB".

Heh. Nah. I'm just going to decide at the conclusion. However, since everyone is pitching in to create the images I thought it would be interesting to hear everyone's opinions before I come to any conclusions.

Pretty much everything is done so I'll probably create the poll in less than another 24 hours. :D

Favorite AB will give a lot more discussion room than best looking. For instance, I like Rigald because of his part in the story much more than I like his actual character design.That is probably the final word on that. I agree with you.

Oh come on you guys! an overall favorite AB still includes the looking aspect of ABs so please don't ditch Clare (or anyone else from that list for the matter), even tho she didn't fully awaken pretty much half of her body did and she did lose control of her body at one point.

All of your points about considering this AB but not that one (i.e. Jean, Alicia, Clare) really belongs to that poll for the discussion, don't you think? ;)

I could go on about some other ABs as well like Rosemary for example but I am saving it for the poll :D

While I'll put the tiny pic in the poll I can list a larger image for some, like Agatha in my first post.

I really do prefer the current Luciela one as it shows the whole body without losing the details. Isley's one is arguable but whatever is chosen, doesn't matter really.

lol. yeah but that's not the point! If I could fit each one of those ABs in a 100x100, I would do it! she is by far the best to fit in but anyway, her face isn't any prettier than her butt so it doesn't make a difference really :p

If we include Clare we can discuss her future awakened form as well, not to mention how awesome her fight was with Rigald which, in my opinion, was one of the best fights in manga. I even acted it out for a bunch of my friends. They got confused. I know I have had some speculations on Clare's future form and someone made a picture of it...

As much as I would love to have Clare included in this poll (we all know where the votes are going to go), I just don't believe she belongs in it.

Perhaps the poll should be more clearly defined to determine as to whether partials get a say.
As it stands Clare and Jean, along with any other characters who went through a partial awakening are not truely awakened beings.

I was aiming actually for the best/coolest "looking" not just favorite overall.

Clare only had her legs and arms awaken so we don't know how her final awakened form would be but it wouldn't hurt to have her there.

Quite a worthwhile point. I'm seriously thinking about leaving Jean off the poll now since she's such wonderful character. Thinking about it. Oh I didn't say that! Indeed my post kinda implied that but I didn't mean it anyway. What I meant is that her face was ugly regardless of how fine I thought her butt was (and it's not pretty in case you are still wondering what I am thinking!) :D
