Nah, it looks more like a pewter watch in the show. And, the design's not nearly so delicate.

At any rate, I would sooo buy that pendant, too- it's beau'iful!!

I went with an exchange group to Ujie for 2 weeks and so people from Ujie come here for 2 weeks. It was just through the skool but we had to fundraise our asses off while the Ujie kids got it payed for from the city government :(

Yeah the trip was lots of fun even tho the teachers should have been eaten by godzilla :heh: They were worried about me getting lost or mugged. They were mean we had to pay for 2 teachers (who were like 30..bunch of %$^&*) to come. But the money came from our fundraised money and they never helped once >.< When I was at Gamers they were telling me nothing was up there...my ass how did I spend 200+ dollars on stuff if there is nothing up there :frustrated: But this year I'm getting loads of goods. And bringing empty suit cases LOL. But I have to work lots at my job so far I have enogh for the trip but spending money is what I need now 2,000+ is my goal :) well 200,000 yen LOL

Back on topic ^-^ I wonder if they do make those watches..even if they r pewter LOL.

2004-01-30, 20:44
Sakura-Chan... its not that they are rich... its the currency exchange.... where I am now.... its 25 yen per RM1.... What in the world can you buy with 25 yen?????????? nothing.... that's like a dollar to dollar equivalent to 25 cents....

By the way Vulkar... that thing is cute... I saw some pictures on a website... I think it was some PS2 promotion... so I'm sure that its from a game... I just don't know which one...

Want a pewter watch? can get something similar over here....quite pricy... anyone heard of Selangor Pewter?

I would love to find a nice pocket watch with the state alchemist insignia on it. add a little functionality to an odd collectors pice :thinker:

Or is it already a watch, I cannot remeber any time some one has opened one, but they do look quite a bit like a pocket watch.

Yup, it's a watch. Actually, I was wondering if anyone had seen the watch thats up on yahoo-japan?
http://page7.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g15212169 It looks really awesome from the pics but none of them show whether it opens or not. Personally it would bug me if it didn't. Does anyone know any details about it?

Mine are, yeah. Check out the 2 sticky threads in the General Chat forum for some tutorials if you want some.

And to stay on topic:

I'd take the ring as a replacement for the watch if they never market one. I'd rather have the watch since I'd actually use it. I'd never wear a ring. Even if I could verify it's a guy's ring. :)

Your friend going to Japan might not get some of those Squeenix Online Goods in a shop though... I could be wrong as I haven't been to Akibahara in years. ><

There was a few State Alchemy Watches on sale on ebay--for 160 + USD :frustrated:

The seller claimed total authenticity and showed a picture of the Authenticity Certificate--whether or not it was valid I have no idea.

There was also a replica pf Ed's red cloak/cape/jacket(I've no idea what it is) in the form of a hooded-sweater. Not sure if it's official but it looked really good^^

Aye, that coupled with a state alchemist uniform. ;) Go the whole hog ehehe :D I wonder what theyd say if i turned up to labs wearing it and started to draw transmutation circles on the desks :heh:

edit: that would be a great idea for my project oral in a few weeks :thinker: i wonder what my lecturers would think :uhoh:

*Straightens uniform, checks watch*
"Explain how you made chemical 'A'"
"Well i started by drawing a 5 point pentagon within a circle then placed all the chemicals within it..."

I've been looking for the watch but can't find it. I looked at the ones that were for sale on ebay. One at about $80 and 2 at about $160. Only those 3 listed in the closed items search.

The $80 watch (said to be a bootleg by those selling the more expensive watches) has a picture of Ed and Al as the face of the watch which is pretty lame, to me. I want exactly what Ed carries. I don't want some cheesy merchandise. The $160 watches didn't show the inside.

I heard there was a 'Hagaren' merchandising blitz in Japan (mabye kj or someone else can back this up), but I found some really silly stuff online. It's so silly, I can't decide if it's bootleg or official, but despite it's silly-ness, I still wouldn't mind owning a lot of this stuff.

For back to School.... (http://www.anime-confetti.com/product_info.php?cPath=84&products_id=1762)

And a tumbler with a sweet picture of Trisha , Ed and Al (http://www.animeten.com/details.php?productID=M-MOVC-M285M404-0704LM&aku=0)

to be fair, there are weirder stuff for other animes...but if you're a FMA fan with money to spare, I guess there are worse things to buy....

Volume 7 of FMA came with a little schedule book (picked it up at the NYC Kinokuniya a few weeks ago.) Things like this are quite common, especially if you visit an Animate or Toranoana. And when a show has an audience like FMA does, you end up with it plastered all over things that can be used in school :)

And this is stuff is hardly unique. There's things for other series that are just... creepy.

hey i've been looking around to buy one of these watches. I've seen those crappy US licensed ones and then some cooler ones that are almost what im looking for except they say "full metal alchemist" on the back and then the "Don't Forget 3.OCT.10" is raised not etched and it even includes quotes.

I found some cool ones on ebay that are exactly the same as the ones on the show except that they have a collectors serial number and there is a silver matte finish or antique finish and rund for $65. Are these really licensed. I'm thinking about getting it but for that much i wanna know i'm getting the best and not get jipped.

If you guys know anything please help.

As announced in this forum, the Fullmetal Alchemist forum has been retired. This is just a natural part of a forum's lifespan. It has been a while since the new episodes of the show were aired. Over the time since then, the show has seen a great reduction of posting and attention. As a result, it is no longer meaningful to have a gadzillion threads to discuss the show.

This thread is one of the few remaining where discussion can still be posted. By concentrating discussion into a few threads it may be possible to actually have a semblance of interaction once more. Please continue to show Fullmetal Alchemist your enjoyment interest in these threads.

Know nowhere else to post the Blu-Ray release, but here is a translated news from ANN about the Blu-Ray release in August 2009:

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2009-04-28/fullmetam-alchemist-ova-on-1st-brotherhood-disc

Ack. So much bonus including the animated side-story/gag-manga from the official guidebook...? And the limited edition also have those funny 4-komas animated?

*Grumbles about the money she might have to spend for August later* Typical Gangan indeed. I look at you Pandora Hearts DVD! =_=;

(And I seem to recall knowing a Box Set -Archives- that contains all, as in ALL the official production has given... 51 episodes DVDs (not sure how many discs in total) of the older series and the movie DVDs and special discs, yada yada... Though the Visual and Chronicle Book are the ones that has been attracting my attention at that time.

But still, I recall it was around... 60,000-70,000 Yen without discounts. Tax not added yet :uhoh:)

I wouldn't mind that Riza chibi keyring, and seeing as though you buy them in packs, i don't see why don't.

Should order them eventually.

Are there any posable 4 inch FMA figures? That would be in scale with Microman, motion revive.

More DVD/Blu-Ray Information

http://www.hagaren.jp/news/index.html

DVD/BD 1 will come out on 8/26 will contain episodes 1-2 plus the Blind Alchemist Omake

DVD/BD 2 will come out on 9/30 will contain episodes 3-6

DVD/BD 3 will come out on 10/28 will contain episodes 7-10

It looks like all the DVDs will contain animation of Arakawa's 4-Koma theater (I am so excited about this)

Other extras mentioned and translated here (http://www.fullmetal-alchemist.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12526&pid=678223&st=600&#entry678223)

I am so tempted to buy these even though they won't have subs and they will eventually come out in the US on DVD. But I am pretty sure the US DVD sets will not be as nice. A box designed by Arakawa to keep your DVDs in, collectible cards, booklets. Too bad it is so expensive though. :(

Oh wow, they're gonna animated her 4-koma theaters? Seeing as how much she loves those, i bet she even asked for them to be animated. :heh:

That really is great news though. & yeah, looks like it'll be worth it for the boxart, jacket and booklet. Good thing the first volume is released on my birthday. :p

1) The OP wouldn't be posted here because it's against the rules.

2) The OP single hasn't official been released yet, so you'll have to wait for that to hear the version without vocals. :)

Some new merchandise that I thought was cool

A Lust Figure (http://www.hlj.com/product/BNP46121)
Not really that interested in Lust myself but I am sure others are :)

Just General Figures (http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/menu.aspx?menu=155)

Ed, Al, & Roy have been done many times before but I don't remember ever seeing a large Bradley figure before

Chibi Voice I-doll (http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN958995)

No pictures yet but from looking at the Code Geass and Gundam 00 examples of these they are usually pretty nice.

This month's Shounen Gangan confirms that the first OST for FMA:B will be released on Oct 14th. On the same day two Character Song singles will also be released, "The Theme of Edward Elric by THE ALCHEMISTS" and "The Theme of Alphonse Elric by THE ALCHEMISTS". The Alchemists are an imaginary rockband made up of Ed and Al I believe.

Wow thank you god. I was fully expecting 2 episodes per blu-ray release which was going to make this godly expensive. This makes it much easier to make the medicine go down.

Wonder what other character singles will be released. I suppose we'll have to wait longer for those; meanwhile I'll have to check out Ed and Al's... Thanks for the info!

Should mention there is a TV guidebook out. Also the quality on the blu-rays are pretty good.
