Well, I've gotten through the first two episodes so far, and it's great. If someone wants an avatar made for this forum, feel free to request one with the episode number and timeframe. (I.E. Episode 2, 10:33-10:35)

Try to keep requests under two seconds of video, and something that looks like it will loop well. (For example, panning camera or moving backrounds look bad unless the backrounds themselves loop as well.)

Give me some time to catch up on the series, but until then you can drop any requests here.

I managed to do it on my own, though. It's not great, but it was my first time. And it only took an hour or so! :P

I used BSPlayer for the screenshots, then MSpaint and then Adobe ImageReady.

Could one of you kind gentlemen make a gif of ed and that dog shaking back and forth on the ground in either episode 15 or 16? The one where he returns home for the automail. I deleted that episode, so no timeline.

Preferably same size as the original, maybe a bit smaller. I dont need it for an avatar or sig, is why.

Hehe believe it or not those were submitted, then i came around here and saw them. Nearly all of the images on the site are user submitted, with the exception of some of the official art i added in to get it started :)

I know this is outside the time framing, but shorten it up as you need to. Ep 23 10:46-52, Something that has the cows going one way then the other as they are hitting each other upside the head... seems to me it'd make a perfect loop.

I had to shave alot of frames to get it under 50kb, but it still works pretty well, and has the cows in all their glory :)

Edit: Btw, this marks my entrance as a gif maker; though I'll only be doing the last 3 episodes released, because I dont burn subs, I watch alot of different anime, and I have a 50gb harddrive with 4gb free.

It's at the beginning of ep 9, when Winry goes shopping. She's really excited, but Ed has a...forlorn expersion on his face. He's smiling, but it's a sad smile. If you can't/won't get it, I completly understand. If not that, could I please get mabye a shot of Al before he was in the suit of armor?

Well, I made one once (my avatar), but I didn't use any special program. Just pressed P in BSPlayer and took screenshots of every single frame in that scene. And it took about an hour to make it look good. :)

I use Ulead Gif animator 5, There I just select the appropriate frames and slect the option update selected frames. I'll take a look at how it works in Imageready.

Edit: The only thing I can think off is adding another Layer underneath with the right color there. But I'm no expert on that programm so I can't really help you.

Instead of using tween I did it manually because that pissed me off

But to fix it, go to the bottom layer of the images tweened and set the transparency to 0

Yes the length is too long. Sorry but it can only be 2-3 seconds. But since you have shown initiative in making your own you will not go all without help.

You can capture the image sequence via VirtualDub and then dit it in either Adobe Imageready or Ulead Gif Animator. For a more detailed description look in the general for the Animated Gif Tutorial.

Hey after reading this thread i went away and thought id have a bash at making my own Avata, after a few tries i came up with what i hope is next to my post >?? if its not you know i feel stupid, even so what i made is a hell of alot smaller.

I used the Virtual Dub but i didnt hae Adobe so i used 123 AVI to Gif but it didnt really compress it anywahere near as good as what ive seen you create. So

There's that scene in 24 where the Lightning Alchemist tried to knife him that would probably work well. And there's already an Avatar of it around that could be modified.

Its reallly hard to make em small enough to use in for AIM buddy Icon....I tryed the one were hes fighting the lightning alchemist but it look bad cuz i had to delete frame to make it small enough file size...but I got this one to look ok and be small enough

I'd suggest looking back a few pages in this thread because it has been made before.

Now i may be blind and feel free to say so if i am but i looked all over and couldnt find one which matched what i was wanting, closest was of just after with him running away from mustangs flames. :twitch:
