Shoujo-Ai or Yuri Suggestions Please

I've probably seen most of the most well known Shoujo-ai or Yuri titles out there, but was wondering if there were any I may have missed. My favorite so far has been Simoun. Unfortunately it seems there are very few anime like this that I'm aware of so I'm looking for any suggestions. Even if it's not the main element, as long as the anime is really good & includes a shoujo-ai type pairing (Mai-Hime for example), I'm open to suggestions. Thanks in advance. :kisskiss:

Well, since you mentioned it, but didn't list it, I'll say Mai-Hime and Mai-Otome.
Also, Yami to Boshi to Hon no Tabibito is a classic, (with Mamiko Noto playing the lead) and is the spiritual ancestor of Kannazuki no Miko, though they aren't really alike.

Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora had some shoujo-ai parts in it if I remember. Only watched a few epis of it but I remember that part of it :heh:

You can't miss Candy☆Boy, yuri love all the way. One short episode leaving you wanting more... seriously.

I have summarised [I know Wikipedia has got alot more, but I focused on those I have watched before/with some general knowledge], in this post (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=61637&highlight=yuri+suggestion) [Suggestion forum].

Strawberry Panic! and Simoun. Your best bet, seriously.

Maria-sama ga Miteru has a "sister" relationship, some yuri elements later in the series.

Blue Drop ~Tenshitachi no Gikyoku~ is another excellent series, with mech elements.

Kashimashi ~Girl meets Girl~ and Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru have traps, not really yuri at all.

Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito is pretty decent, but you have to play their game to understand better.

Noir and Madlax, it's up to anyone's judgment to see these series as yuri though.

Best Student Council (Gokujou Seitokai) has a story which revolves around an all-girls school academy. There's comedy, and I laughed at almost every single episodes. Some slight hint of yuri, and good entertainment

Revolutionary Girl Utena is another masterpiece i.m.o. The animation may not be appealing, since it's made many years ago.

Candy*Boy is an incest yuri OVA. There's only 1 episode, unfortunately.

Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora have [Himeko and Chikane, except different names (Himiko and Kaon)], very attractive, cool looking mechs and new hot characters!

Steel Angel Kurumi 2, though you might have to endure the first season.

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha have 39 episodes total from three seasons. There's minimal yuri ( or none at all) but the action is excellent.

Mahou Sensei Negima! A bit of yuri? Pretty interesting series.

I couldn't believe I actually missed out Mai-hime/Mai-Otome.
I would group it with Nanoha though.



Some of the newer anime with subtle yuri:

Shigofumi: Letters from the Departed [1-2 episodes]

Dragonaut The Resonance [I heard from someone it is supposedly so.]

Bamboo Blade? Maybe something similar to Gokujou Seitokai.

Kimiaru: They are my Noble Masters : Incest and yuri.[ Or just incest..]

Rosario+Vampire: Yea, subtle.[Maybe bisexual is a better word to use?]



Older ones which I forgot/or just knew it some time ago:

Karin: The blood-giving vampire has incest[or interpreted as yuri].

Touka Gettan. It has an episode of Yami to Boshi in it :) The anime is kinda good... a bit confusing though. There's one thing this anime do that I haven't see in any other animes..
If Haruhi have random episodes, this one is totally backwards.. you could literally watch it from the last episode to the first one and feel that it's supposed to be watched that way...

Other suggestion would be Bakuretsu Tenshi (action), Gunbuster and Gunbuster 2 (action), and if I can stretch it a bit, try Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru (comedy).

I am not talking about the first 1-2 episodes by the way. Around episode 3 or 4, there is another different arc which covers another story between two girls, not in-depth, but subtle. It is either your memory fails you on the wrong time or you didn't watch that arc yet.

You can't feel.. it?? Maybe the lack of incest anime has led to my poor judgment, or we just see things differently. If you're wondering about Karin reaching the "yuri" level, I actually mentioned "subtle." Partially my fault, because I actually tried to link the two titles as one.

Ah, you said 1-2, so I assumed you meant the first two episodes (luckily, I'm wrong.)
And yeah, it was more of an accentuated hyperbole-style sarcastic remark about how messed up Shigofumi was.

Eh, and Dragonaut is quite the fail.
I may watch it one day for t3h lulz, though.

Thanks everyone for some great suggestions. :) I've followed up on some and will look at others mentioned. I just finished watching Blue Drop. I liked the science fiction element, and visually it was quite beautiful to look at. I just wish there were more Yuri elements to it. I'm now working on getting Gokujou Seitokai, since I could use a good laugh right now.

As far as I've seen most non-porn yuri anime is pretty boring and snoreworthy.

Other than that, you'll have to look for manga series. There are some really good Yuri manga featuring cuddling and kissing, and all the stuff it seems you're looking for. I can recommend you some titles if you're interested.

has a kiss scene. Quite a dramatic one as well.
One of the few dramatic stories was the one about Sei's past in which she has a female lover with whom she shares kisses and whatnot.

But yeah, there's few explicitly yuri couples in anime, most are implied.
