I thought that this would be a nice way to recap all the funniest and saddest moments in FMA and that it would make for a good read... I'd also like to find out what different ppl take as significant and what others take as not

For me ...

Funniest so far would have to be Dog's hands up action.
Saddest so far would be Nina and Dog combination

What's it for you guys? what makes some of the memorable moments for you in this series...?

Funniest:

-When Colonel Mustang is talking about if he becomes Fuhrer he does that spin and says he's gonna make all the girls wear mini-skirts, then that other guys nose bleeds and he proceeds to hug Mustangs leg and says he will follow him wherever he goes.

-Right before Colonel Mustang and Edward are about to fight, that guy with the glasses and goatee (forgot his name) through the microphone says "By the way, this is.." and unveils a giant picture of his daughter "My daughter, who turned three this year!"

Yeah, the two mentioned above really caught me off guard, heh.

The saddest thing was definately Nina and the dog.. I was actually angry that it happened.

I think the coolest thing so far was Scar busting up Ed and Al.. kind of brought them back down to Earth.

Well, I don't think anyone's going to have a different answer to the saddest moment. When Ed asked how long his wife had been gone, and how long ago the first chimera was made, and I made the connection in my head, I was just dumbfounded. It was more shocking than sad I think.

Anyways, funniest:

>Mustang's mini-skirt dream
>Al in the crate with the sheep
>Hughes's unveiling of his daughter's picture at the battle
>Mustang telling them how he would discipline the dog

Everyone said the funniest LMAO episode 13 was the funniest episode ever. Mini-skirts LMAO. I wonder if that will happen later on LOL.

Funniest Moment: Whenever Ed exaggerates about people calling him short, and also the mini-skirts comment is definitely up there as well. I'd follow him if I was in his place too.

;)

Saddest moment: Nina's death and the origin of Ed and AL.

Creepiest Moment: The butcher murderer...geez...

Coolest Moment: When Mustang beat the crap out of Ed.

All, very memorable moments ;) But let's not forget...

--When Scar and Mustang were going to duke it out, but Hawkeye intervenes plaintively pointing out that Mustang is less than effective on a rainy day.

--My personal favorite just cause I love subtlety...when Ed and Armstrong were looking for Al, and Armstrong whips out a perfectly drawn picture of Al in a muscle pose. "Did he look like this?"

--I kind of felt for Al when Winry and the Aunt were putting the automail on Ed, and he says something like "This is nothing compared to the pain he feels." Especially since Al's such a nice guy, even knowing that you are who you are, but knowing you're a cold, hard, empty piece of armor.

The mini skirt scene is definatly up thier on my list. Yet For best comidec moment I would have to say when hawk eye lays out Mustang before he tries to take on scar in the rain. Pointing out to him how his power is usless ATM. . . (that kick would have looked much better in a mini skirt :) )

Saddest moment, I would have to go with general concensus here. Mixing nina and the dog was perty #@$^ed up. I don't think scar killing her was that bad, but still not in the 100% correct catagory either. Yet seriously what else could be done for that abomination that never should have been created to begin with?

Well, Ed was going to like, undo it, but then Nina's dad scared him out of it, making him remember when they tried to bring their mother back. So, I suppose Ed could of at least tried to seperate Nina and Alexander, though don't know if it would of helped, or what the consequences would be.

I don't think the Nina/dog mix was the saddest part, nor the part when he kills her (not that it wasn't sad).

I think when Ed FINDS what was remaind of Nina, and he had to squint to make it out before he realized that the blob on the wall was someone he cared about soo much... and then Col. Mustang and Lt. Hawkey talking about it in the car really drove it home... All the while with Ed clapping his hands, trying to revive her and put her back together (at least I think that was what the clapping was in the background...)

Funniest moment... just after scar beat the crap out of Ed and Al, and Al grabs Ed's coat... and then his arm falls off. Just how they sit there and watch it bounce to a stop is absolutely HILIARIOUS!!

Saddest : Finding out about Nina/dog chimera.

second saddest part was probably when "--I kind of felt for Al when Winry and the Aunt were putting the automail on Ed, and he says something like "This is nothing compared to the pain he feels." Especially since Al's such a nice guy, even knowing that you are who you are, but knowing you're a cold, hard, empty piece of armor." (quote from sharkus)

Funniest i thought was when edward was predicting what colonel mustang was going to say to him at the beginning of ep 13

you must have a huge fear with butchers and blood.... anyway... when did mustang beat the hell out of ed??? i thought the duel ended up with a sort of draw....

Ok as everyone stated the saddest part was when Ed had to squint to see the remains of Nina. :( I almost cried *sob*

I really laughed when they just arrived to East City again and Edward was mimicking his predicting of what Col. Mustang was going to say. Also yes the Mini Skirts cannot forget that.

I don't think the saddest part was Nina being mixed with the Chimera. Don't get me wrong, just look at my avatar, I'm a huge fan of Nina's (soooooo very cute. <3 Nina). I think it was because of the mood I was in and the atmosphere around me when i saw it. *shrugs*

I think the saddest thing is just Ed and Al's history in general. Everything that they've gone though is just so amazing......

And that quote that Ed said when he was getting his automail put on was really deep. That's one of my favorite parts in the series so far.

I know this doesn't pertain to FMA, but I think that what the girls have to go through in Gunslinger Girl is tragic. Episode 9 really got to me, the whole story about the pasta prince and the memories it brought.......I almost cried. Not quite though. I still need to find an anime (or TV show or movie) that makes me cry. I kinda feel like I'm missing out on something...)

Yeah that butcher scene where Ed was really scared. That was creepy how we saw a usually in control character get so incredibly scared and desperate.

And I don't think Ed and Mustang were even. One barely got touched, while the other got roasted.

Yeah, the butcher episode was really creepy. The way Ed was scrambling around and trying not to get killed is unforgettable.

Lots of funny moments in FMA, most of them already mentioned. Something that made me really laugh out loud was when (don't know if everyone has seen episode 17, so spoiler tag) When Ed and Al are having their mock fight, Al throws Ed waaay into the air and he disappears. Then, Armstrong proceeds to tackle Al, the noise Al makes as he gets tackled is priceless.

I definitely agree with the saddest scene and the creepiest scene. Another creepy scene for me is when we first find out what Gluttony's diet is, at the end of episode 2 :twitch:

Funniest moment is definitely beginning of 13, when Ed is predicting his encounter with Roy. Oh, and in ep. 5, when Farman runs over to where Ed and Al are sitting, and yells to Hughes, "Yes! Very, very small!"

And a pretty sad moment is Majhal's death scene. He treats Karin like crap, it's harsh to watch it

The Chimera nina doggy thing disturbed me quite a lot. it was so unsuspecting, and really puts you on a downer afterwards.

i think for everybpdy the nina thing was something that will sdtick on forever....... the writer combined two crucial elements for this.... man's best friend... and man's most treasured person.... that's why it really kills...

what made me cringe and drop my jaw the most was seeing nina's spinal cord and skeloton as a chimera splattered and stuck on the wall with blood around it and Ed trying desperately to retransmute her back? I couldnt even cry when i saw that cause of just how shocking it really was. Not to mention her head exploded as well....

Asakura_Y0h
2004-02-09, 21:24
yes i definitely agree that when ed was clapping his hands and pressing them against the wall it really was hard to watch because most of us would have sympathised with him and felt the desperation that he had to retransmute her back to life

I think the saddest moment would have to be the last car ride that Ed took with Mustang. Deep down Ed knew he would never see mustang again.

The funniest moment would have to be when ed rased his should be shackled hand to eat some bread in epasode 2? and the phony Priest caught on all to late.

all i all FMA had some of the deepest conversations i've ever heard and great quotes.

and my most shock and awe moment was when ed said "don't you rember i killed your friend sloth while she was wearing the face of my own mother." Ed seemed to be becoming more and more like a cold empty shell neer the end of the epasode death.

the best epasode I would have to rule is a tie between "Be thou for the people" and "All is one"

When Maes hughs died you know you felt it the sadness of the fan I bet you were crying at the funeral I was Remember the good old times like how hughs called a whole assembly of pretty much th whole army base thinking it was an important assembly just to find out he wanted to realveal a gaint picture of his daughter lol. but time has passed and hughs died. be a true fan and pay your respects

oh yes I was pretty shocked when hughes suddenly died..
the nina eps didn't really affect me because I had spoilers

hmm and I guess it was pretty much sad when Ed killed sloth there.. she said something to him just before she died and she really looked like ed's mother

yea I just saw the nina ep. and now i'm debating on wich one is sader nina death or hughs death?

KateyParr
2007-06-24, 19:38
BAH! It was sad when you saw Nina, but when scar first appeared and 'destroyed' her i was happy!! i thought that was meant to happen, there was nothing left for her, she looked like she was waiting to bump into scar to be killed, i thought that was the whole idea!!! then scar starts killing state alchemist and once that started it annoyed the )(*&*&^ out of me! JUST DIE SCAR GO AWAY AND DIE YOUR BORING AND YUR CONFUSING EVERYTHING. god it takes the characters in FMA so LONG to figure out whats going on!!!!!!!!!!!

One good funny part in FMA i would consider to be was when al, ed and winry were in the auto mail town and ed got into the arm wrestling compeition and broke the dudes arm!!! I THINK it was the same episode when al and ed first saw glimpses of their sensei too! their faces were halarius once ed started going blue. i didnt know what the hell was going on !
