Watched episode 5 and loved it of course for obvious reasons if you dont know why seem my avatar lol. Like everyone i did notice a fair amount of errors for the subbing. I even noticed a few translation errors but over all i enjoyed the episode. I really have to get me a satellite that shoots beams from space at people lol. Chihiro's version is full of typo.. and as stated above, the early part missing a few dialogue lines.

As for fansubs, I chose to follow Genjo's releases, but it seems that they've indeed halted work on Sekirei. Too bad. I felt that they had the best fansub of episode 1, both in terms of translation and overall quality.

I completely agree i have been saying that everywhere, but good news they are starting back again and are now part of the bakawolf subbing network.

well been very busy working hard to get things done and we are officially part of baka-wolf Network. we are still the same old genjo-subs subbing our project we have say we will do its just we are just part of the baka-wolf family with alot of support from them. the benefits are good and very usefull and helpful this point of time we are almost done with sekirei ep 2+3 we are going over the final things to make sure everything is in order. our Translator who is working on Sekirei is busy so ep 4+5 will be done as soon he gets back from his exams.
since our forums are completey dead and no ones use it we have choosen to use baka-wolf Benefits to use part of there forums to make a subforums sections there plus you can get DDL from there that we have released so far.

yessy is terrible they may get a close translation but the quality are their work is pretty awful i would never watch anything of theres. Plus considering that chihiro (minus the grammer) and Genjo pretty much goes with what is said in the manga i trust them more.

Well, having seen episode 5, I just have to say that Matsu has demonstrated why she's my second favorite among Minato's harem. She's just a scheming, fun and quirky character, whose mannerisms sometimes resemble that of some perverted old man. In other words, she's the "weird one."

But episode 6..! Oh, how I've waited for this one in particular. Even better is that my fears have been allayed somewhat. Judging by its preview, the quality goes up—at least for certain scenes during this long awaited moment. Can't wait.

In the manga,Homura did show his face to Tsukiumi at the end of chapter 14.Nothing surprise there...just that,Tsukiumi is very weak in thinking/analyzing/memorizing,and pretty slow in catching up things,so its not a big threat to Homura lol.

12 episodes is more likely because the Manga is only up to volume 7 right now and the serial is only up to Chapter 69. So far in 5 episodes they have gotten through 21 chapters of the manga. Which leaves 48 chapters. At the pace they are doing it, they got enough left for 12 more episodes. Additonally, at the rate of two new manga chapters a month, they'll probably have enough materials for 2 more episodes (about 4 manga chapters = 1 anime episode) on top of what they got. So 19 episodes of manga material still leave them 6 episodes short if they want to do 25. So can they come up with 6 episodes of fillers (ala Bleach style)?

From the OP sequence, it looks like they animated all the way through the Kazehana arc (which ends around manga chapter 51 or so). This makes it look like a 12-13 episode run. But we'll see. Hopefully it will either be 26 episodes or have a second season of 13 sometime down the road.

I don't see any mention of anything but a normal DVD on the official site (http://www.sekirei-tv.com/dvdcd/index.html). And on Shoboi Calendar (http://cal.syoboi.jp/tid/1427/time) and 2channel (http://changi.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/anime/1217765852/), they don't seem to mention a satellite HD broadcast.

As for how many episodes, the usual best Japanese source, Moonphase, has said 12 from the beginning. On 2channel, people expect 12, too. Some posters there hope for more, as people do here, and others say that there are not enough chapters in the manga for that...yet.

#9, power of water, and much sought after. That either describes Blastoise or Tsukiumi. And there was plenty of Tsukiumi this episode. I also have to say that Hikari and Hibiki's winging sequence was nifty, and I like the music that played in that scene. The action continues to be nice, and while we didn't get to see Tsukiumi's scene, the episode still had a lot of good stuff.

Minato covering up Ku's eyes during the winging, Yukari fangirling over her own Sekirei (can't wait to see the Devil and Death take to the streets) and Minato finally assembling his harem. At least, the main harem.

Finally - Man-Hikari and Man-Hibiki remind me of Muscle Okama. Do - not - want.

Today's episode follows chapter 22,23,24,25 (first half only),27 (first half only) and 30 (first half only) of the manga,with a lil bit modification on chapter 24 and 25 (not really that much but you'll notice it).So,Tsukiumi finally gotten her wing from Minato,abit early from what i had expected,and also alot of pantsu shots there :heh: With 6 more episodes to go,i wonder how the ending will be...i really hope they will continue this series with another new season,coz cramming the left stories into 6 episodes sounds like impossible...unless if they plan to go with their own version of ending.

So after watching the raw I noticed parts where the art was quite good and others full with QUALITY (if you get my drift) - take the Yukari/Shiina scene for instance. Some shots look just plain awkward, but when the camera comes to their face it looks much better.

Man, basically episode 6 is dedicated to Tsukiumi first, and Kuu second. In other words: It's a very good episode. :p

Maybe it's just me (or my bad memory), but Minato seems more manly in his encounter with Tsukiumi in the anime than in the manga. That's a welcome change. Moreover, the battle scenes continue to be a pleasant surprise considering that the animators could've kept things simpler if they wanted to. Fortunately, that isn't the case here.

As for the characters, Tsukiumi takes the cake in this episode in my opinion. I was amused at all her facial expressions, with my favorite reaction being that pissed off expression of hers with her hair flying around. :heh: Now Kuu is funny as well, making full use of her loli advantages to their fullest. These two are arguably the most possessive among Minato's sekirei (one claiming legal wife status, and the other playing the oniichan card), and I'm certainly looking forward to their amusing rivalry.

Then again, for Tsukiumi, all of Minato's sekirei are her rivals. :p

And then there's Yukari, who's bordering on being a shotacon as she plays the "older sister" role opposite a pretty boy of her own as she does a gender reversal of a few classic harem clichés. (wanting to peek, bleeding nose, etc.)
Lots of good stuff here I think, but the episode is not without a few flaws of its own. (The art looks weird sometimes.) Still, I think this episode is one that Sekirei manga and anime fans will generally enjoy regardless of some hiccups here and there.

When it comes to the Minato wife race, my money's on Kuu-chan. That little girl is sneaky. Trying to extract a promise when the others aren't there to beat her off & using her +100 adorableness attack as well. The others don't stand a chance against her. As expected, episode 06 delivered and i enjoyed it very much. Tsukiumi's a lot of fun to have at the inn, especially with all this Wife talk. It's expected comedy/drama from a show like this, and i'll enjoy every last bit of it.

Still having trouble deciding on my favorite female from this show, though i easily have a favorite male. :3

Yeah that was a wonderful scene. I hope for more over the top scenes like that.

I really liked the score for this episode --- it's finally starting to make me remember some of the tracks, though it's a shame the score will be released along with the DVD's. We probably won't see a soundtrack release at this rate.

Glad I caught up in the last couple episodes. Some really great stuff with water power :). Man Kagari has it rough. What is up with the mask completely fooling everyone :heh:? Of course Matsu is informed enough to know, but even Tsukiumi completely didn't get it. I mean she had those few moments when the mask wasn't on in episode 5. Oh well one of those puns I suppose.

Still plenty of fun with the wife status battle going on here. Tsukiumi won't settle for anything less than top spot. Even though she had no idea just how many Sekirei Minato had. Big points on the moe scale for Kuu in this episode though. She just snapped at the start when Minato was attacked and got her chances at the end of the episode. No matter who you are she really is adorable.

Oh, she'd certainly be a prominent figure in Minato's harem, but despite her status she seems content in leaving the leadership role to Tsukiumi. As long as she has Minato, all is fine with her. But I can also imagine her as the "oneesan wife" of the group, dispensing words of wisdom regarding love (among other things... ahem) and relationships due to her maturity and past experiences.

One reason I love seeing stuff animated rather then manga is Tsukiumi looks almost like she's dancing waving her water around, its so cool to actually see that in a non-manga form.

Pretty good show. I'm loving most of the voices. Hanazawa Kana (Kuu) and Hayami Saori (Musubi) are good. But I am really impressed with Endou Aya (Matsu). She does that character very well, and it is so different from her voice as Sheryl in Macross Frontier, for example. It took me a while to get used to the way Inoue Marina is playing Tsukiumi, but I'm beginning to be able to relate to it.

Not the way they gobbled up those chapters anyway. Used up 30 chapters out of 69 available chapters for 6 episodes. How the hell are they gonna pad up the other 20 episodes.

20 episodes = 5 months.

2 chapters/month x 5 months = 10 extra chapters = 2 extra episodes at current pace.

It wont.

Not the way they gobbled up those chapters anyway. Used up 30 chapters out of 69 available chapters for 6 episodes. How the hell are they gonna pad up the other 20 episodes.

20 episodes = 5 months.

2 chapters/month x 5 months = 10 extra chapters = 2 extra episodes at current pace.

How about Yukari and Shina's X-dressing adventures :heh:. Ball stomping of unfortunate souls included :uhoh: That appears to be the direction the show is heading regarding this pair anyway :rolleyes:

It would be cool if it was, but I don't think it is. Two Japanese sites -- Moonphase (http://www.moonphase.cc/Html/anime.html) and the Tokyo MX (http://www.mxtv.co.jp/sekirei/story.html)TV Sekirei site -- show 12 episodes. And one season is what 2channel expects. But that's still not total proof.

I didn't really expect more than 12 episodes for this honestly. Then perhaps another 12 in 2010 or so. I didn't think this anime would go annually unless the writers of the manga worked super fast over time.

Unless the mangaka starts churning out chapters like a madwoman, I'm more inclined to believe that this will be the only Sekirei show in the foreseeable future. Unless of course they decide to put on anime original material, they won't have any material to work with to make another cour until maybe three years down the line. XD

Really the could easily do another series in Fall 09... We're already upto chapter 69 and the anime will finish up in the early 50's. Let's say 53 just to have a number to work off, that leaves 16 chapters not animated, before Fall 08 starts we would get another 4 chapters bringing it up to 20. Now in the space of a year we will get another 26 chapters which gives us 46.

46 chapters is more than enough to animate 12 episodes with, just because the first season is going through the manga at a breakneck pace doesn't mean the sequel series have to do the same. And for all we know the manga could be over in 30 chapters time...

Also to compare to Soul Eater if they converted the manga into the anime at the same rate 12 episodes would = 24 chapters. Soul Eater is being done at a 1 chapter 1 episode ratio but it's 40 pages per chapter so it would be worth 2 Sekirei chapters.

Well I checkand read the whole manga, I definetly think that Sekirei will be back next year for another, this show completely gave my eye at least they wont focus too much of an chapter instead of rushing. They just need to keep it up.

Minata got a good bit of screentime this week. His posing in the present, leading to falling off the clock tower, and his Kamen Rider suit in the past were entertaining. The Black Sekirei also got some screentime, and nice usage of the instrumental of the theme song between Musubi and Minato.

Finally, Death and the Devil are out on the town. The second phase has begun, and the show continues at the same quick pace it's kept all this time.

Now for the ED...this week is - Minata Hiroto as himself. Which is probably more disturbing than the Man-Sekirei.

Looks like next week begins the lead-in to the bridge arc. The ending is being set up well in advance, which is cool with me.

Maybe the manga was more subtle (or just used a shadow bear), but Musubi looks like she's more jealous about Tsukiumi than in the manga. The voice really sets it apart. Also interesting is that the story is bouncing all over the place chapter wise, but the plot manages to stay fairly smooth and true to the source.

To me, episode 9 or 10 could be another "big" episode with the current pacing.

Damn that was a pretty big one. The second phase has begun, going to the extent of locking down the capital. Plus arrival of 04 the Black Sekirei. Considering her role can understand Matsu being absolutely terrified. Besides away from Musubi is a frightening person. Maybe one of the bigger surprises was Miya being the first Sekirei. Though the way she could go against Musubi pretty much said she wasn't normal. But nice to get that answered.

Oh god, Paku was absolutely wonderful as the Black Sekirei. I haven't heard evil Paku in a good while, so it's a nice fresh chance to hear that again. I think i may have found my favorite female character in the show~

Her evil voice is prefect! Black Sekirei has always been my fav Sekirei behind Kagari but this just made it even more wonderful :D

I've watched Sekirei last night after watching Amatsuki .. Funny since my moe Kuchiha suddenly became very bad ass.. well, Kuchiha's is a bad ass too.. but not when she quarrel with a little kid :heh:

lol kuu-chan really is funny having always beat the other girls. it would be a different outcome if she was only 7-8 years older. she probably is the 2nd scariest (miya is 1st) sekirei if you dont count the black sekirei ie threats to stop fighting.
