View Full Version : Nyao's Junk
It's been forever since I posted and instead of digging up my old thread I decided to make a new one, I've been out out of practice for awhile but I think these are 10x better than my old ones for the most part:

^ Yay Thankiies xx :D
why were you not online for so long?
Really nice signatures :) They have some happy aura around them. Personally i think the border on some of em are a bit to thick, but other than that you do a really good work!
Keep up the good work!

You have a nice style! Nice work ^^
Your sigs are a bit dull. The colors could be more vivid, backgrounds more interesting. It looks like you just took a color, slapped a c4d and a render on top of it and that's pretty much all. Use a bit more imagination, be artistic and if you're outta ideas just do tutorials. They can give so many new options into your hands. Right now your signatures really don't catch my eye much.

Geki's right. Your techniques aren't bad, but you have problems with composition and lighting. A lot of your signatures are either flat [see: contrast, lighting, and depth], have a dull color scheme [see: color theory], or have a problem with positioning.
Your Nyao Chan signature is probably the best technique-wise. If you can, try to add some yellows or reds. Also, if you don't want the reds or the yellows to stand out too much, make them more dull but still try to keep the color.
You have a nice technique [I'm not saying you should stop improving it, but that it isn't bad]. Work on your composition more.
Edit: To clarify, I only agree with what Geki says about making the colors more vivid on all of them except the last one. I personally feel that the colors are vivid enough in the last one, but having only one color makes a piece less interesting overall.
It works sometimes, but generally people offset the monotone color scheme by using more interesting designs and other compositional techniques, or they tie it in as a theme in their signature, such as black and white signatures.
I make them look rather plain because I'm not fond of having too much going on and making it look I don't know, messy, and none of them are renders on just a background I've done more than looks noticeable :l.
Thank you for the criticism anyways.
And if you look at my older "work" I've improved x.x..
When choosing renders, always pick something loli-ish. When you do, it usually cause people to daze at your signature for around 1-10 minute. Not drooling. And yes you are already doing a good job of it.

There's no doubt you've improved. I like your current compared to the others. ^__^
You know, you don't have to add anything to change the composition of your current one. And I'm not saying plain is a bad thing either; there are a lot of good plain signatures. I'm just saying that even those plain signatures have interesting compositional effects.
I understand what you mean about the, "I'm not fond of having too much going on," though. That's actually the problem with a lot of new signature makers. You do a good job with the focal too, something others have a problem with.

I quite like your style, actually. :)
But indeed, some of them are very dull. I can see your style being improved, to change "plain" into "simple", and "dull" into "dark".
Anyways, I like your current sig. It's kind of what I mean with the plain into simple.
And yeah, you have improved. :D
Keep it up, and I hope to see more works from you inthe future.
