Gakuran are actually based off of Prussian uniforms, (which also served as the basis for the black SS uniforms) so it's not surprising.

And that's not a leather jacket, it's the top half of a gakuran (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gakuran#Gakuran).

And in return, Mitsuuru would probably be an extremely devoted boyfriend -- inasfar as he is allowed to be one, anyway. Could give some more depth to his character if he had to start working to balance his work with his budding relationship. And if he had to choose between the two in the end, that'd provide some interesting drama. Either he becomes Mitsuuru, the man who defies fate for love, or Mitsuuru, the man who gives up his personal feelings in the name of duty. In either case, he becomes a mite cooler, no? ;)

This just remembered me. Do we have their names? Sasaki and Fujiwara are still the same (it is a surname, after all). Kyoko would be Kyo right?(amazing because their names are similar to Kyonko and Kyon. But and Kuyoh?

Anyway, Suou(m) and Fujiwara(f) are really good in that image (agree with Aebliss, creepy, despite his short hair). Sasaki is not bad eather. Kyo is just... Well, he looks like an retard here :heh:

Love these two images a lot. Both make for really cute images, especially the all-Suzumiya pic. Not quite sure what Haruhiko is doing there, though. Is it just a simple glomp from behind? Anyway, I really like how Haruhiko is drawn there, and Haruhi looks pretty attractive to boot.

One of my greatest appreciations for anime is the sheer aesthetics of it. It's nice to see female characters that actually wear feminine form-flattering clothes. Haruhi has one of the prettiest clothes ensembles I've ever seen a character have.

I don't disagree with you. I like the look of a saylor fuku too (I like all japanese uniform styles, actually). However, a japanese girl wouldn't like to have to wear it, so the 'ridiculous'.

I was speaking about the kinda of the uniform, actually.Here, students just weara T-shirt with the name of their school, that is why to me is ridiculous have to wear anything so fancy to go to school (my little brother, however, study in a old fashioned school that use a more traditional uniform. Even they don't use suits, however, just a social shirt).

I was over there last year and didn't see any sailor uniforms. The ones I saw were more along the lines of stereotypical Catholic School uniforms. Then again, I didn't spend much in town around the time students would be heading home. But that just goes to support the "the don't like wearing that kind of uniform" idea.

Haven't you noticed that in allot of Shoujo? With the exception of the pretty boy traits, the male leads are often actually drawn in a pretty masculine fashion? Compare to shonen series which ussually have pretty boyish leads.

But I definitely like this kind of style. Like you said it evokes a vulnerable look from Kyonko, especially when she's standing next to the rather butch Haruki. This is generally how I imagine the two characters looking next to each other.
