And hmm...you know it just hit me...
Why did May'n sing that Papapapan song? Any info on that?
Well if you want a serious answer... it's part of her old CD singles before she got into Macross F :)
That isn't quite right :) though not wrong either.
this song is her CD while she still used the name Nakabayashi Mai.
it is not a "single" as the CD is a not-for-sale CD from Zexy(wedding info magazine).
Zexy uses this song on their tv advertisement and Mayn's is the 4th. other singer were kimura kaela, sunset wish, keyco etc.
it is a not-for-sale so the only way to get it is by auction :heh: or work at zexy :D

God, I cannot believe I missed this one. Probably the most perfect fan-made video I've ever seen. And, yes, I noticed both the counting tempo and some lipsync, as well. This was a very well done piece! Congratulations to Pwolf, on a very good work.
Also, like I have stated before, this is a not so bad version of Voices. I liked it, at least, more than Mylene's version from way back.

Making a parody doesn't necessarily make someone a "hater", I believe it's wrong to assume something such as this. I said that because I dislike anything dealing with "farts" to get laughs but others would find it funny, it's just personal taste. You took the words right out of my mouth but, jesus christ. That was just god awful. I never knew that it was possible to make Lion sound so terrible. Even if this rendition of the song sounded half-decent, the fact remains that what they're doing is just pathetic and disgraceful. Honestly, they're just trashing on the franchise.
Edit: Ok, thank god. It seems that the song is homemade, so at least I don't mind that. It's just a cover in chinese, that's fine as long as the rip-off series doesn't actually make their own version of Frontier's music.

Hmm so I was planning to remake my AMV with Vegas Pro so I can add special effects and maybe switch up some scenes. A friend of mine suggested that I post my AMV here for suggestions since my friends just say "Its great!" or "Its cool!" and that's not helping . . . >.< So if you have any suggestions please feel free to tell me. XD hmmm I don't know how long it will take me to remake this so after this please don't expect me to remake this really fast. >3<
So basically what I was trying to do in this video was to show Sheryl's strength, relationship (love life?) with Alto, and at the same time trying to make it match the lyrics (which is on the video with translations).

It's already a pretty awesome AMV, for the most part you did a pretty good job with picking clips and deciding where in the song to put them.
I do have to agree that the bit with Ranka didn't work out very well though. I guess I would have liked to have seen something that actually mirrored the events of the series a bit more closely rather than implying that Alto went full for Ranka (and I especially disliked the impression that Alto knocking Sheryl down gave when used out of its original context). It might even be worth considering doing a section on Sheryl's despair in general rather than things about Ranka specifically if you're redoing that part of the vid.
The other thing that kinds of bugs me is that your sequencing of events makes it seem like Sheryl and Alto did escape together on his valkyrie, only for that later to not turn out to be the case. Much as I'm a Sheryl fan I kind of feel the Ranka one works a bit better, Sheryl seems a bit out of place in her surroundings and her movements seem a little off somehow (I was thinking they were too repetitive, but now I'm wondering if perhaps they're a bit too fast in some parts). But still both videos are very cool, and I do have t compliment the Sheryl one for that impressive bit with Alto's valkyrie near the beginning.

Figured that out myself when I started browsing around through related vids a bit. And yeah, it does somewhat. I tend to judge professional and fan made stuff by different standards.
I have to say I'm hoping we don't see too much CGI in the official stuff. CGI mecha is fine, it looks great. But I tend to prefer the characters themselves to be drawn 2d.

"Liebe" or "Ribe" is actually about hope and prayer, and most Japanese people are religious, so Christmas is a celebration of such. So this song actually fits in with the moral of Christmas. It's better than if Diamond Crevasse or Northern Cross were on it.

I didn't feel like correcting another one of LoveMeKags's assumptions, because we had been doing too much of that, but since you brought it up...
There is a difference between being religious and spiritual. Most people in Japan are not religious and do not subscribe to a religion. People like myself would have been considered a definite minority, since Christians consist of no more than 2 ~ 3% of the total population. The majority of Christians concentrate in the Western area, such as Nagasaki. Most people would have no idea, or care about the meaning of Christmas, other than it being a holiday to decorate trees, shopping, trade gifts and eat a lot... etc.

I believe Karice is right about Christmas being a lover's holiday in Japan. With that in mind the title for Liebe is appropriate... it's just that the combination of the lyrics and how it sounds doesn't seem appropriate for such a happy occasion. Then again "Merry Christmas Without You" doesn't seem entirely appropriate for a romantic holiday either. :lol:

And besides, Christmas isn't even a (public) holiday in Japan. The big 'let's celebrate together (as a family) event' is the New Year, which takes place a week later. If you compare Japanese and Westerners, Christmas and New Year swap places in terms of significance.

As I said, there is a difference between spiritual and religious. Japan has no religious canon or religious dogma. People visit temples & shrines not because of a religious conviction or because divine intervention is feared. Religion serve not as a moral guideline, but as a foundation for tradition and activities. For example, its part of New Years tradition to visit a shrine/temple. Sometimes you pray, but the prayer is more or less like a birthday wish, nothing more.
Really, your assumptions are as bad as stereotyping Americans as a bunch of ignorant, fat, lazy couch potatoes "with food pipped through their apartments" (according to Irish comedian Dylan Moran). Don't prove him right.
Stop making things up, its getting very irritating. Moreover, people have already explained lyrics to you, please read them before jumping to conclusions.

Sure, you might not be, but the others around you might, even people you don't know might be religious.
And to say that "Liebe" is not a Christmas song is flawed. "Merry Christmas Without You" (the very word "without") also fits into a non-Christmas song. It's more of a song of prayer that his/her spirit is with them. "Tablet" didn't belong on the album either, for it was about them trying to get their love's attention to the other he failed to notice and write their feelings down, hence the name "tablet." And another one that didn't belong was "Songbird." All of these did not belong because they had no joy like you say, no happiness, they were spiritual songs filled with love. And that's why you don't think they fit. Well, as I recall, Christmas is ABOUT hope and love. I think you forget this fact because 90% of the world is more happy with PRESENTS than songs of hope and love and a nice warm meal. I don't blame you for that, just saying it's ridiculous.
The whole album is about love, hope, and prayer. It's a spiritual joining. And 90% of those who hear "Merry Christmas Without You" think it is for Klan once Michael died. "Liebe" is the same. It is an expression of Sheryl's feelings towards Alto, praying that he will return from battle alive but she will still fight to live even if he's gone. She will not lose her love or her heart. Same with Ranka in "Songbird."

Just pointing out that Christmas means different things to different age groups. There are different reasons to love Christmas as a kid back in the 80s, and I HAD FUN!
80s Japan was such a heaven for kids. Good point - I did Christmas lessons myself after all. Though they were half about having fun, and half about teaching high school kids the difference between Christmas in Japan and in some other countries :heh:

Recognizing it on a monitor screen is a bit more difficult for people with no familiarity with the japanese language, mate - honestly, just watching anime and reading translated manga does not equate a desire or an affinity to learn it.
I, for one, have always wanted to learn - but I don't have the time to invest in it, not now, anyway... So, I'll have to keep hanging onto Google or (semi)officially translated media, for the foreseeable future, dude.

I found this live Universal Bunny video from May'n's movie documentary thingy.
What makes this one particularly stand out is how May'n uses two different voices for the "White Bunny" and "Black Bunny" parts. I guess this is what she had meant in her blog post of long before about how she had initially wanted to have a cutesy voice for the white parts, and a devilish one for the black parts but Yoko said that she should just stick to one. :p
Hah, May'n had the same idea I did. Yet again May'n tries to break the tie to be my favorite singer of all time. I was always a little disappointed by the lack of voice changing in the song, to me it seemed an obvious step to do a sexy and a cute voice for the two bunnies. Maybe it's a bit silly, but I liked it.

If you think that's something :D, you should watch her RHYTHM TANK concert DVD or Bluray. She sang a total of 27 songs :twitch: but even still, her voice was very outstanding up to the end...I mean, she sang Northern Cross for her 24th song, WTF :heh: ("Wouldn't she want to get rid of that one as early as possible?" -vivitoru :heh: ).
