I don't know..... that's from the anime and I'm not watching the railgun anime that much. But from what I observe before. The nips look alike candy is just a candy. Maybe its her ability. It is called by two names: Ability Body Crystal or Crystallized Esper Essence, the latter coined by its creator, Kihara Gensei. It extends the limits of the human brain and thus allows persons with restrained abilities (like Takitsubo Rikou) to use it without fail. The bad side effects of this is that the body can't keep up with the upgrade and thus, deteriorates.

The only two people shown to consume this are Telestina Kihara Lifeline and later on, takitsubo Rikou.

It looks like the war started with Russia controlled by Fianmma threatens Academy City to share their knowledge or be destroyed. The Russia did sent missiles to attack the City. As for the government of Japan. It looks like they are trying to stop the academy city or rather trying them to stop retaliating against other country. But the government just shut up when the academy city show them the pictures of when the academy city shoot down the missiles sent by russia.

About Touma. It looks like his on his own journey to destroy the remote. Though I wonder why his alone. And Lessa is his guide or so it seems. Its more like Lessa is their just to seduce Touma :D lucky guy.


After Accel finally awakens thanks to " falcon punch " Touma leave a letter to him find index..... but where is index? I read here that she's still in England. Does that mean Accel will go their?

And finally I ask it before why does Touma alone? where are the others? why is he alone in a cold place well not totally alone because she got a girl that's been trying to seduce him all the time their in a cold place of russia?

And if index is still in England and when she goes berserk Styl is their to fight her.

They should have known now that touma is missing and all specially if a war is breaking between france and englang. But maybe because of the war itself that they had no time to search for him. And while touma was sneaking away it looks like Lessa just tug in with him because she think that his work will be beneficiary to England. :D

I have some questions/summery that I just thought of couple of them are related to vol 20, another is for either 18 or 19, I'm not too sure.

I've been thinking of the fight between Fiamma and everyone else, and I wonder if anyone who read the book yet could give me a summary of the fight. Like was it really Fiamma vs everyone at once or it was like he defeated some and the others arrived right after that one victory. (I'm thinking that it would be somewhat impossible for him to get out unscathed with Upgraded Sasha's magic or Touma's right hand.)

And could someone give me a summary of how Lassar fits in all this. :D

And what happened to the New Light Girl with the wings? It showed her falling off a bridge with Touma in one of the images.

IMO, Volume 9 is quite different from the other books.

You can think of it like a new season of '24'.

Expect lots of cellphone action, chase scenes, racing against time, multiple sub-stories, and one big plot to destroy the City.

He already did that. Earning him a bullet in the head. Last Order is Accelerator's morality pet all the Misaka's he has killed and Misaka Worst has the same face.

I wouldn't pass the posibility Accelerator is insane. Preying on middle school girls with the same face over and over he may have started identifying with them. Since what he did is basically serial murders of over 10,000 girls there is a posibility of sexual gratification involved in the killings. Here comes a mini-version of the girls he's been killing who is sympathetic to him. He started to bond with her. Trouble happens and she gets sick he feels powerless. Then comes a more mature version of the girl he protects he can't bring himself to kill another girl with the same face anymore. Hence when she killed herself he snapped.

Even if he didn't raped them, he found pleasure in hurting them very painfully in many ways before killing them. Accelerator is a sadist and enjoy what he did to the Sisters. It was only after meeting Last Order that he realizes how horrible of a monster he was as he always thought of the Sisters as his playthings not humans with feelings.

That over 10,000 Sisters were killed is a fact but no matter the crime, they gotta move on one way or another.

I believe Part of him wanted to attain Level 6. As we saw it, even as a child he was always attacked by people. By attending Level 6, he hoped that nobody would even consider attacking him anymore. He's just tired of it.

Another part that I read from the manga was that Accelerator never once thought that his powers could be used for anything except for destruction. Yoshikawa mention that should he ever finds out that he could save people, he would definitely regret all the times that he could've done so.

Maahh~ To each his own, Accelerator never once denied that he was a scumbag and a monster for going through with the experiments.

Serial killing involves a certain factor of dominance, Accelerator doesn't need to sexually assault a Sister as it is part of the killing. Accelerator even made a lewd comment during a killing "Are you you showing me your butt?".

The relationship between Accelerator and Last Order appear to be a form of mutual Stockholm Syndrome. Last Order in her Point of View saw some kindness in Accelerator who murdered every Sister connected to her. In turn the face Accelerator saw again every day during the experiment is that of Mikoto Misaka thus some sympathy with victims as it progressed. Perhaps Accelerator did try to scare the Sisters but couldn't feel fear as they are programmed not to, but he did it Mikoto when she tried to kill him for murdering the Sister she bonded with.

As said his experience with Last Order humanized the Sisters to him thus couldn't kill another Sister anymore.

Indeed, volume 9-10 have rather detailed explainations of the workings of magic, given Oriana's style, so alot of information just flew pass me- I'm only able to catch some of it like Stiyl's step-by-step instruction of how rune magic works. Hopefully with your translations I could fill in the gaps.

That said though, Touma's classroom antics are excellent :D And their very first event got my laughing at Mikoto's reaction :heh:

Found something to share with you guys :)

Euro tunnel which connects England and France gets bombed. England is having hard time getting import goods thanks to tunnel shutting down as a result. Tsuchimikado asks Touma to go to Britain as Index's guardian, because there seems to be some sort of magic organization at work here, and they need Index's help. Before Touma could say anything sleeping gas grenade is thrown in from next door.

When Touma comes to he's already at the airport. Tsuchimikado got a ride ready for him (monster airplane they used to get back from Italy), but Touma and Index decides to use a regular airplane instead, leaving their cat to travel by himself on the super airplane. (which Itsuwa came to pick up) They use inter connective flight headed to Scotland and than to London since direct flights were sold out. During the ride the airplane is about to be hijacked by French extremist who claims tunnel bombing is England's act to try and cut ties with France. Necessarius tries to use magic to interfere the hijack but is interrupted by unknown source from Scotland. Index gets attacked by him and Touma gets pissed, corners the guy and beat the crap out of him along with the other guy.

Once they're there, Kanzaki picks them up via helicopter and heads straight to Buckingham Palace. It turns out the queen herself was the one who called Index. There he's introduced to the royal family and gets a lecture on Cartena(sp?) carried by the queen. It's a sword that grants power of an angel to royalty, but the original has been lost for centuries and what the queen was carrying is a copy of original. After the talk they send Index to investigate the tunnel with the knights and princesses. Touma is asked to stay out of it because they don't want him to break anything. They also find out that the group called New Light was the one who interrupted Necessarius's spell and they're headed to London with some kind of luggage. New Light interfered because if the spell wasn't interrupted, the plane would've landed on the road connecting London and Scotland, which would've delayed their travel. Touma tags along Oriana to help her capture the New Light.

Lessa from New Light makes a mistake and gets tracked down. She is spotted by Touma and Oriana while on the run. They fight but she manages to get away and they continue the chase. Itsuwa and Kanzaki manages to capture two of the New Light. The suitcases New Light was carrying allows one to send its contents from one suitcase to another in an instant. When Touma and Oriana corners Lessa, she says that New Light was only here as means of transportation and sends the contents of her suitcase to their client. She gets shot to be silenced right after, but Touma manages to pull Lessa away in time to save her life. Oriana recognizes the weapon used to attack Lessa. It was a weapon used by the knights of England.

New Light was carrying the original Cartena recently excavated, and their mission was to bring it to 2nd princess Carissa. Carissa starts a coup right after Index confirmed that the French magic was behind euro tunnel bombing and takes her custody. She orders the knights to take over all the major facilities throughout England. Battle between knights and mages erupts all over, but with the Carissa's blessing knights subdue most of the Necessarius. Necessarius drops the fight because they're outnumbered to begin with, and goes into hiding. Carissa's reason for coup was that if the war between Academy City and Roman Catholics did happen England will be either wiped out by Romans or become Academy City's bitch. England need to act now if it was to avoid that and become its own nation as well as the head figure of Europe. Her next move was to kill rest of the royalty so that no one else can use the Cartena. She chases after one of her sisters, Vileinne(sp?), who managed to get away during the confusion. Kanzaki tries stop them but she's taken down by Knight Leader. Carissa catches up and gives order to Knight Leader to kill Vileinne, but Aqua comes in and saves the day.

The queen and Archbishop was captured by knight but managed to get away. Touma and Oriana splits, Oriana staying to help out Sherry who's fighting against the knights, and Touma has to look for someone to cure Lessa. He makes it to the Necessarius girl's dorm and leaves Lessa under Ursula's care. Now he has to help nuns get away from knights and go rescue Index, volume ends.

Uiharu is dressed in a short-sleeved T-shirt and black shorts, like a sportsgirl; however, this doesn’t match the flower ring made of roses and Chinese hibiscus. The artificial flowers that are blooming make her look like she’s wearing a huge vase on her head.

I'm now like what? Artificial flowers? Checked twice already and both sources gave me the same thing.

Rumour was probably from someone else from the inside, like a researcher. There was already one radical in the research teams before it ended.

All the Level 6 experiments are weird anyway and probably wouldn't succeed.

In the first place, to achieve SYSTEM means an Esper has to be able to comprehend the will/sense/workings of Heaven, or God. In terms of physics, that's like figuring out the Theory of Everything (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theory_of_everything). I don't think killing 20000 girls, or eating Esper essence (eww) is going to get you anywhere.

That's why Accelerator was chosen, because of that wonderful brain of his, he represent the best chance of 'figuring' it out. I don't know how reliable this is, but the Wikia states that:

Yes, what happened was Mikoto was at a cafe or some place like that, in Academy City, when Touma called her up on his phone to ask for her help. Once he actually got into the tunnels, their phone connection was severed and Mikoto was unable to contact him again, which is what led to the events from vol 20 that were previously described in the thread.


I don't want to comment on the end of the level 6 shift, as it's all one of those cases that proves that "coincidence" is the greatest power in this story and I don't want to rant about it. On the other hand, if Aleister actually controlled "coincidence" it might actually explain a great deal.

As for when aleister built academy city. I also ask that in the q & a thread and they come up with rather good numbers but one thing is for sure. Academy city had been running for 20 years I think. And as for why.... simple. To eradicate magic :D

Touma's memories could be special because it could answer forth some questions. Many people are speculating that when he remember his pass the key to complete imagine breaker could be seen but who knows.

The final enemy isn't revealed yet but probably last enemy are either Laura or Aleister. I wouldn't be surprised if one of those are the true enemies. ;)

Without going into detail, Aleister's main goal is the destruction of magic. And to do that, he would need to create a power that can rival the great Churches.

As for when this all started, it's not revealed yet. But a fair guess is 1947, when it was officially recorded that he died.

So far, Touma's memories haven't been seriously touched upon. Though the book does mention them once in awhile

Give her some credit. She did master it or rather specialize herself on it. Though the range is problematic but most of the ability doesn't have that much range to begin with. The only one I know that had wide range one are kakine and mikoto which at least 30 meters radius attack range.

A simple answer would be because no one knows what time really is. we only know that time exists because space-time are related(day-night+aging-->dying and such things). by seeing things that change periodically humans have paid a lot of attention to time but other than that, i would say it is an unknown variable that does exist but outside of the human realm.

How much Lv4 differ from lv5 in term of power and capability? I think the difference between each Lv's powers are ambiguous. How did you guy know what lv5 can do ,but lv4 and lower doesn't

Teleporting is not a reflex. You need to calculate the exact coordinates of the object you are teleporting (hereafter referred to as target object) and your target location, relative to whatever reference frame you may choose (for example, Kuroko sets her target object as the origin, while Awaki sets herself as the origin, IIRC). And, not everyone has Accelerator's computational ability. To illustrate, the computational ability of ~10000 MISAKA clones working together only comes up to half of what Accelerator is capable of.

Sharing a new one with you guys:

Terra, Aqua and the pope is having a conversation outside. They decide to use their believers to attack Academy City.

Yomikawa along with her co-workers from Anti Skill are at 3rd district demonstrating their equipment to people from outside. There were times where Academy City would invite people with interest to show their inventions, but this time it's strictly weapons and arsenals only. She speculates that this was due to protest going on around the world. Roman Catholics are protesting against Academy City world wide, and the demonstration they're having right now is aimed at showing what Academy City is capable of.

Touma, Tsuchimikado and Blue hair was having a conversation as well on which color suits the bunny girl the best. (black, red or white?) Fukiyose tries to shut them up by choking Tsuchimikado, kicking Blue hair and headbutting Touma. Oyafune, a teacher working at their school, hears the commotion and breaks up the fight. She orders them to pick the weed away by hand from school ground after school. The two ditch them, and Touma is left alone to work with Fukiyose. While working they start playing around again, Fukiyose trying to show her 150km/h fork ball against Touma (thus the fanservice). Touma almost gets into trouble again after foul ball hits Oyafune who came to check up on them, but manage to escape.

Stiyl and Anise are interrogating Viaggio and Ludovia, trying to find out what God's Right Seat is after. Ludovia smirks and tell them that what they're after is stated in their name.

Touma meets Misaka on the way home. They talk about how he got her mom's number and why there's protest against Academy City going on around the globe. After they split Touma is contacted by Oyafune's mother, who happens to be one of Academy City's higher up in person. She tells him that there's supernatural power at work behind the protests, that these people are forced to take action against the city. She asks for his help but is shot by Tsuchimikado right after. Academy City wanted a reason to go on war so what she was doing would only work against them. Tsuchimikado was asked by her to shoot her to prevent Academy City from doing further form of punishment (such as attacking her daughter). Misaka hears the shot and comes back, but they've already left after calling for help.

They get on super plane that can go up to 7000km/h to head to France. Tsuchimikado tells Touma they're after Document of Constantine. It has power to make catholic people believe whatever the pope says. In this case pope said something like Academy City is evil, and people started going on a rampage. Before Tsuchimikado could finish his explanation, they reach above Avignon, so they jump off. Touma makes a vow to kill Tsuchimikado if he gets a chance.

Touma lands on a river, but Itsuwa rescues him before drowning. Amakusas were gathering info in France on what was causing this, and Itsuwa found Touma by pure chance since she didn't know about Tsuchimikado. They join up before regrouping with him. They go to nearby cafe to wrap things up before making a move. Itsuwa explains how popes used to be here at Avignon couple centuries ago, and since using the document in Vatican would take long time (taking votes and approvals), they decided to use it here instead. Palais des papes seems most likely place to be where the document is housed.

They're spotted by angry mob before they could plan things out. This seems to be their attack against Touma, after spotting him drop off from the plane. They start moving toward Palais des papes. while dodging the mob to get there, Tsuchimikado contacts them. He was heading there as well, but wall of angry mob got too dense to pass by. They decide to cut the magical pipeline connecting Vatican and Avignon which allows the document to activate instead. This pipeline is flow of energy that runs through the globe, and they need either Itsuwa or Tsuchimikado to alter its path away from Avignon.

Touma and Itsuwa end up at one of museums. Just as Itsuwa is about to shut the pipeline with her panties, Terra attacks them with giant white guillotine blade. When Touma touches it the blade shatters into pieces, but goes back to Terra's right hand and forms a blade once again. Terra mentions that since God's Right Seat can't use normal magic he has to let someone else use the document, so he hopes that they'll entertain him a little. Terra starts attacking again. Touma block most of his attacks and Itsuwa jumps in, using seven wires to attack like kanzaki. The wires wrap around him without any damage. Terra goes through wall behind him and attacks, and the two can't do anything but to defend themselves.

Terra is disappointed in Touma, saying that Vent would never have lost against him if her punishment wasn't broken and fallen angel wore out. Terra strikes with his blade and Touma is blown away but his body remain intact instead of getting sliced in half. Itsuwa figures out that Terra's blade is made of flour and once she does Terra explains with a smile that he can alter the rank of things. He put himself above the metal wires so it didn't deal any damage to him. Tsuchimikado joins in and attacks Terra with his magical origami while sending a note to Itsuwa and Touma to get away when the two collide. Before they do there's huge explosion outside, crumbling the museum wall. Academy City sent their army to attack Avignon.

Dozens of them with powered suits start taking down the mob. Terra retreats in order to secure the Document of Constantine and escape because that's what the Academy City is here for. Touma and Itsuwa goes after Terra while Tsuchimikado stays behind to stall the Academy City. Tsuchimikado manages to crash the suits' system, thanks to the suits still being at testing stage. He spots HsB-02 flying above him and questions now immobilized soldiers if they plan to bomb entire city of Avignon, and wonders if they got something more. The HsB-02 planes slices around Avignon using its earth blade, and Accelerator tells them to bomb just the Palais des papes instead of bombing whole Avignon.

Touma and Itsuwa reaches Palais des papes, once there he calls Misaka to check on why Academy City sent their people in. She tells him that right now there's nothing but news on Avignon on TV. There's cult group working to create weapon of mass destruction and French government has asked Academy City to intervene, asking for their expertise in taking the weapon apart. She asks Touma where he is but their talk is cut short when Terra shows up after taking out suits that have infiltrated into palace, with the document in his hand.

Bombing starts and with that Touma begins his fight against Terra with Itsuwa. Terra explodes his blade and shoots them out like a bullet at them. Touma is unable to react but Istuwa pulls him away just in time and strikes at Terra. Itsuwa gets injured instead and Terra scoffs at her for being dead weight but she answers to him that she's found his weakness. Before she could speak Terra attacks and knock her unconscious. Terra tells Touma how he's utterly disappointed and that his could have protected her if he had full power of Imagine Breaker. Finding confused look in Touma, Terra asks "how can you not know it? or is it possible that you've forgotten?" Touma screams in anger and that confirms Terra's suspicion, asking when and how he lost his memory. Terra starts attacking again saying it won't matter since he's going to die here anyway.

With this attack Touma realizes his weakness; Terra can't change more than one rank at a time. If he puts human being above a weapon, his blade isn't deadly for time being unless he puts flour above a person, and on top of that he has to actually say it out loud every time he does. Touma asks why go this far, and Terra's answer is that he needs to guide lost sheep and judge them before passing onto promised land. After that Touma gives his usual speech, pummels Terra to ground and destroys the document. With the document destroyed and Terra lying on ground, Touma asks him what Imagine Breaker is. Before Terra could speak attack from HsB-02 blows the two away and where Terra was laying is covered in scorching flame.

When Itsuwa comes to, she finds Touma unconscious and damages caused by HsB-02. Parts of room has melted due to so much heat and covered with steam. She hears Accel speaking just as she start tending Touma, from where heat is still generated where no normal human being should be able to stand. She stays put not knowing if he's ally or foe, steam giving good cover for her and Accel leaves soon after to deeper part of palace.

Ludovia tells Stiyl that God's Right Seat is trying to become being equal to an angel and even more, sitting right next to where god resides. Terra manage to survive the attack and escape to Vatican, where he's welcomed by Aqua and is sliced in half. Aqua found out that Terra was experimenting his power on non Catholics who pass by Vatican. He heads off to Academy City to stop what's causing the chaos.

Misaka is staring blankly at her phone after hearing the talk between Touma and Terra, and volume ends.

You need to calculate the exact coordinates of the object you are teleporting (hereafter referred to as target object) and your target location, relative to whatever reference frame you may choose (for example, Kuroko sets her target object as the origin, while Awaki sets herself as the origin, IIRC). And, not everyone has Accelerator's computational ability. To illustrate, the computational ability of ~10000 MISAKA clones working together only comes up to half of what Accelerator is capable of.

aah....... few words. The author make Touma an undying falcon puncher which even slice and dice and even pummeled to the ground his still alive and standing the perfect allies of justice

as for accel..... dues ex machina if you ask me :heh: his ability is sooooooo vague that only gives you an impression like what " control over vector? " if a you ask a layman about that he would probably say lame... pretty lame. But it has tons of use for a super brain killing psycho like Accel.

I don't know much about teleportation because I skip vol 08 because its focused on judgment and kuroko not the super gar touam and psycho accel.

as for explanation of difference in ability of level 4 and 5. I will give my idea using teleportation as example.

The current know teleportation are all level 4.

The first mostly known is "instant teleportation" of kuroko. And RIGHT its called instant because it has the minimum time gap or delay. its pretty much the fastest teleport of all but with this kind of ability it has lots of limitation. They say that kuroko has the most general or common teleportation but I beg to differ. She also has specialization like the others.

Using herself and the object as origin. Setting as zero and the distance of the enemy and where to transport are her key items. Being callen instant has the meaning like the name implies instant. In the anime you could see that is sure is looks like instant. But if you observe it well. Its all " SMALL " to small. She never teleport something much bigger than herself and the distance are all within the reach of eyes. Given the speed it sacrifice the weight of the object plus the distance

The next one is forgot the name but its also an ability of teleportation and a specialization one. The one specialize in teleporting in the back of the enemy. its requirement is the teleporter must know the location of the enemy and whats the surrounding on it. She can't teleport if theirs an obstruction their because she would just be stuck their. And I think its range is not so great too. Probably the same like kuroko because teleproting on the back of the enemy is strictly tiring. And its probably the closest one on someone asking if its possible to teleport something inside the body of an enemy. If you teleport on the inside of the enemy you will consider on where it will be teleported. But if you teleport it on the empty space behind the enemy then you wouldn't consider anything.

Lastly is the "move point" of awaki. The one known has the ability to become level 5 but become traumatize because of being stuck on the wall for.... days....yes days ><. If I'm stuck on the wall for days I will also be traumatize. The move point requires massive!!! massive!!! computing capabilities because it has RANGE!! unlike others which requires touch. Awaki specialize herself due to trauma of being stuck to walls to teleport with range. If you teleport something with range then its possible to hide yourself and not to put you in harm. And being a teleporter that is scared of teleporting herself she has a fatal flaw. And to compensate for it. She put on range. But here's the problem. Unlike the first two which had speed this one hasn't. Their is a time lag. Kuroko being the fastest teleporter. But for awaki. She is also fast if its small but this girl thinks big............ like a building. :D :D She can teleport a building but being building it has a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge time lag. Enough time for touma to punch it back. Like on what you see on macross when a spaceship is leaving their warp zone. Just imagine it like this. She has the power and the range plus her maximum range is also quite far but lack speed.

That's the most level 4.

And as for difference of level 4 and level 5. Then it could be because all of the level 4 are only specialize in one matter. As for level 5. They are flexible. Too flexible. Taken misaka as example. She should be an electro master. Firing rounds of rounds of lightning but she also mastered the electro magnetism. For others it should be possible but if you ask me its like dual skill even if electro magnetism branch of from being an electro master. She walks walls. Complete control of any substance that conducts electricity. 10 billion bolts of lightning then her railgun. Isn't that flexible? they can go from defense to offense like its nothing. Unlike those level 4 that needs to specialize or excel on something on the field of their ability to power up.

The way I see it, Touma's memory loss was only supposed to be an ironic contrast to Index's fate after her ordeal with John's Pen. Index ended up keeping her memories while Touma ended up losing his.

Touma's personality is almost exactly the same as before the memory loss, and it's fairly evident from the fact that no one found out. Of course, he forgot some things, like who his parents are and the fact that Misaka has a reputation for being a lv5 esper, but those facts could and were easily rediscovered. In fact, isn't it because Touma's personality stayed the same after the memory loss that Misaka realizes her affection for him in vol. 16?

Terra's provoking question about Touma's memory is only based on the assumption that you would naturally discover your full capabilities after having the power for so long. Touma probably never learned his IB's full power, especially since all he knew back then was science when his IB transcends science. Touma only got angry because someone found out about his memory loss.

Now, on the issue of the full power of Imagine Breaker, I'd imagine that it's just the ability to negate all magical and esper abilities, not most abilities. Touma's right arm has shown to have its limits, namely against Index's Dragon Breath and Stiyl's Innocentus. If IB was at full power, Touma probably could negate the more powerful abilities will less effort, and it probably won't be limited to his right arm anymore.


On a side note, d'aaww Index got embarrassed. I guess this proves that Index probably would have bitten Touma for him seeing her sleeping regardless of his answer.

I also wonder if the magical heroines like Index and Kanzaki Kaori will ever get involved more with the esper side, or if any of the esper heroines like Misaka will get involved with the magical side like Accelerator. I want to see Index more in action, and I want to see Misaka be put against people that can match her in combat like Accel.

True, the volume says that his current power is only a bit of his full powers can extend to his whole body and beyond, and do more rather than just erasing powers like stopping a rockslide without being imbued with powers(magic or esp).

Well, he was the one who said that Imagine breaker is not the real name of his power and existed many time ago under a different denomination and sure he knew about him but sadly Aleister send his forces and then that friki zealot-called-Acqua killed Terra D:*tears*. About the memories, Terra just assumed his memory loss and pushed Touma to admit this, such misfortune.

my second question : we don't if what terra had in his mind about IB is the same as what fiamma-chan has in his mind about it so if the author is using the policy of "silence all those who know the truth" then having terra disapear is a logical step by aquas hand , however fiamma also thinks he knows what IB really is but never really made a grand statement of knowing what its really capable of if touma unlocks its power. so a logical conclusion is that either fiamma and terras depth of knowledge about it is different or they're talking about different things. :confused:

Terra and Fiannma would probably know it. Terra being the oldest in the God's right seat should be the most knowledgeable of the 4. And Fianma being the second. Heck his old enough to even take disciples. His disciple is the pope itself.
Those two probably had access on lots of stuff plus unlike the other 2 which had justice and revenge on their minds. This 2 are corrupt and hunger for power. So it wouldn't be too surprising if they are seeking powers in lots of ways.

The way I see it, Touma's memory loss was only supposed to be an ironic contrast to Index's fate after her ordeal with John's Pen. Index ended up keeping her memories while Touma ended up losing his.

Touma's personality is almost exactly the same as before the memory loss, and it's fairly evident from the fact that no one found out. Of course, he forgot some things, like who his parents are and the fact that Misaka has a reputation for being a lv5 esper, but those facts could and were easily rediscovered. In fact, isn't it because Touma's personality stayed the same after the memory loss that Misaka realizes her affection for him in vol. 16?

Terra's provoking question about Touma's memory is only based on the assumption that you would naturally discover your full capabilities after having the power for so long. Touma probably never learned his IB's full power, especially since all he knew back then was science when his IB transcends science. Touma only got angry because someone found out about his memory loss.

Now, on the issue of the full power of Imagine Breaker, I'd imagine that it's just the ability to negate all magical and esper abilities, not most abilities. Touma's right arm has shown to have its limits, namely against Index's Dragon Breath and Stiyl's Innocentus. If IB was at full power, Touma probably could negate the more powerful abilities will less effort, and it probably won't be limited to his right arm anymore.


In a series with lots of coincidence on their side. I wouldn't be surprised on the memory lost being the key to unlocking lots of secrets.

And touma being the same.... I don't know maybe they are the same because he got suck on it the same way. As for before memory lost he always got on troubles with the esper and after it he got suck in troubles on the magic side. Being like styl being the first to ask for help and touma seeing those things on the cram school with lots of deaths. Would only strengthen his justice again. It's more like the environment for me on how one takes actions. Maybe because of the same environment that lead too being the same allies of Justice. Plus isn't Aleister the one who ask for help on the magic side? and even ask to bring his Imagine BREAKER!!!! along. I also wouldn't be surprised if its the plan of Aleister himself. Molding his young imagine breaker on his ideal way. Being the hero type of person. Plus touma meeting with the SISTERS and meeting on an Angel. If all those meeting didn't occur I think their might be a chance of difference in way.

Terra's way of gathering information by provoking the enemy is basics. But he sure got a big info with memory lost. He might be playing with words at first. Saying that maybe you had forgotten the way on using it. But turning it right might give Terra some kind of feeling of superiority. Like when you know a secret and the person doesn't know it. And you want to tease the other on the secret. It might be same. Terra saying small by small info on Touma about the true nature of imagine breaker and its true name.

Given the almost 5 people in the whole world knows the true nature of imagine breaker then with one down. The only once who might know it are Aleister and Fianmma for sure plus Laura might be and some hints on the pope knowing something when Fiannma said that a boy from Japan can cancel miracles.

As for its true potential..... I'm thinking of complete control on magic and esper abilities. Like total domination and not just erasing but controlling what ever it touch.

Touma's charm is that he's so direct.
Misaka has been shown to be tsundere only over the people close to her. Think about it; she's nice to all girls other than Kuroko, and in vol. 12, the only person she would readily dump her stuff onto is Kuroko, because they're roommates. Touma's the only person whom Misaka would throw her full power at, because she knows that he can take it and won't hurt her back.
The same goes for Index. She had chances to bite other annoying guys, like Tsuchimikado and the blue-haired guy. Why didn't she?
In a way, certain girls being so abusive to him is a sign of trust, because they know him well enough to know that they can. It's like cracking joke insults toward your friends.

I think Touma's Imagine Breaker is meant to be a divine power, as in a power that transcends past everything known to man. However, the author has to be careful with his future explanation, because it sounds like IB is really close to magic when it's supposed to be neither magic nor esper ability. IB needs to be explained somehow as divine, yet also different from the religious magic in this series.

Well, your guess may be right. I for one vote for the miracle since it does make sense when Touma's the user. Miracles don't work by use of chants or magic and it certainly can't be manipulated by science.

We all saw one of the "feathers of doom" touch his head. AFAIK, even Touma can't challenge the powers of Index under the Johann's Pen mode. He almost had his right hand shredded to bits by Dragon's Breath and even if he can reverse the effects of a spell (he did in the manga, not sure if canon), he was unable to do so with the Feathers spell.

Remember when Mikoto saw Touma with 10032 in vol 12? She tried to electrocute him several times.

If Touma is seen with another girl and Mikoto misunderstands the situation as Touma flirting with other girls (and that probably will happen, considering his rotten luck), then she'll attack at full power. Then again, she did have more reasons to back then, since Touma WAS supposed to be on a date with her and ended up ditching her several times.

What events before the beginning of the Index series? Mikoto's first meeting with Touma was the same as in Index, where Touma tries to save her from a bunch of thugs.

The only thing the Railgun manga added on was that Mikoto pestered Touma for a fight a lot before the Sisters arc came around.

Though even back then, Mikoto was still aware of her surroundings. She only zaps Touma if there aren't any bystanders nearby (thugs obviously don't count)


Anyway, I just read the update to vol9 ch2. You know, this proves that Mikoto would get more affection from Touma if she weren't so tsundere about it and was more honestly kind to Touma.

Memory-reading, and only under special conditions. She electrocuted Harumi Kiyama, a former researcher, on contact when she was using the Level Upper network against Misaka. Mikoto ended up seeing her memories as a result.

don't think misaka actually has mind reading powers per se. Kiyama's brainwaves were still erratic after separating from the Network. Misaka's thundershock probably synched their brainwaves for a split second. If the effect lasted she'd probably suffer the same effects as the Level Upper users. Same theory with the Network. Misaka's shock was probably the protocol used to connect her to a "universal frequency"(aka disoriented Kiyama). Mikoto needs some kind of upgrade to keep up with the main protagonists and villains. Being able to sync frequencies with one of the Misaka Networks at will would probably be the closest powerup she can achieve.

Misaka is strong enough to handle those soviet soldiers. Just don't bump up with the big shots in the enemy sides. Like those saint class weilding weapons and those Knight leaders plus Fiannma. She would be eaten alive.

And then their is hero touma plus lessa. though lessa mains objective is too seduce touma and make sure he wil complete his mission or just be a guide. But it will be funny to see Mikoto seeing touma with lessa and it will be surely be great if the scene is she ended up seeing is when lessa is doing what she's best with.... seduction power :D :D I bet railgun will be flying. Because right know their are only snow and mikoto can't use snow unlike before when she saw touma with itsuwa. Their is a soccer ball. And that ball is the one ended up flying. Those 2 boxes just say "Russian Navy" and "Academy City submarine", not actually people names. The Russians were trying to intercept AC's ships to cut their supply line, but couldn't find any, since AC was transporting their supplies by submarine.

If she's going to follow Touma, then she'll bump into those big shots eventually. As much as I like ToumaxMisaka, I really don't like the idea of her becoming a liability. She needs a powerup more than Touma does right now.

my guesing so far its that accelerator will become in the end a level 6 since he already defeated half of the sisters and he ended up fighting a few level 5's and with 128 railguns he could reach level 6 only his fight with kakine covered much expirience maybe awakened mode is a clue of him becoming a level 6? perhaps thats the reason the writter made the expirament to stop half way

Accelerator defeated half of the sisters, pushed himself to the limit to deal with the hound dogs without using his powers and the half awakened with Kihara, later fought with an awakened Kakine and last faced the superior being called Aiwass. I think he is about 5/7 to become a Level 6.
