I was also surprised with Oreimo's sales... though probably it will just close in a bit without contending for the top.
As far as sales are concern; Haruhi, Index, BokuwaTomo, Durarara, BakaTest, OreImo, SAO, bakemono and... Infinite Stratos (>.>) are the biggest names in the Light Novel scene.
BTW, is Boku wa Tomodachi that good? I've only read the description but honestly, it sounds like a cliche dictionary (though not as much as IS) or maybe a mashup of other works... I guess I can't tell much with just the description but it still bothers me...
The fact that it's receiving such high sales despite not having an Anime yet is a testament to it's strength.
The only other title on that list that doesn't have an Anime yet is SAO.
Lol, it does seem that way... too much TV for Hamazura.
But yeah, when Accelerator loses it and goes on a rampage, he does all in the height of his insanity. When he's not high, Accelerator is a lot more humane. On the other hand, Hamazura showed he can become ruthless and calculating. In a sense, the fear I'd feel from Accelerator would be that of the fear of a hurricane or a volcano, but from Hamazura it would be the fear of being hunted down. It's hard to tell which is worse.
That's not what i meant though :heh: The proper way to interrogate someone is to do what Accelerator did- He created a whole new reality for the prisoner. A good interrogator paints a picture of the world for a detainee. Whatever he's holding onto, you take it away.
The fact is, torture is for sadists and thugs. It's like getting groceries with a flamethrower. It doesn't work, and it makes a mess. Getting useful information is about creating a new reality for the interrogation subject with no hope of escape or freedom. You control every aspect of their world - how they eat, where they sleep, even whether it's day or night. When it's time to ask questions, you want them disoriented, anxious, wondering who you are and what you can do to them.
Of course, Accelerator used the accelerated process.

It's much better than what any of it's descriptions can bring justice to. Most previews and description can only speak about the setting, the characters or the goal of the storyline; none of these are truly transcendent and thus is a bad way of promoting the series.
Bokutomo is mainly about the jokes, the show is to the core a bunch of weirdos having weird conversation about "how to socialize" themes and how to have fun, but everything always just ends up in a weird manner. One of the strongest points of the novel is that it doesn't hold back with actual contemporanean ~ popular themes, so you'll have a bunch of weirdos doing things that you can do in real life and getting incredible strange conclusions from their experiences.
Bottom line is, if you want a proper description of the series using Index terms, it's like the Delta force Otaku talks, but like that all the time. Then imagine the Delta Force trying to make friends by playing monster hunter on psp, or Shirai Kuroko trying to pick up Mikoto using lines from an eroge (the +18 version of The Sacred Blacksmith) and then you'll get an idea of what the series is about; it's like an evil version of Genshiken.

Trivia: I wonder why the anime can get away with having Stiyl smoking despite being a minor yet Naruto anime will not even allow Shikamaru to smoke. I guess Stiyl look old despite only 14 years old, lucky Komoe is there to correct him though it was pretty much ineffective.
Because looks. But that itself is an oddity because Komoe-sensei looks like a minor but is a perfect adult with a driver's license and smokes and drinks beer.
... Also, unless if I recall it wrong, it's Kanzaki who helps him buy those cigarettes. Probably with the fact that she's 18 and dresses like that, the grocery staff won't be wondering why she smokes (when she actually doesn't)...
... which reminds me about potential daily mishaps on Kanzaki's part. No, no, no, I must not think that!
i guess that the censorship department doesn't read the Light Novels so they might miss the fact that Stiyl is a minor. Naruto have a wider age fan base so the censorship is more sensitive.
If it's about street cred, then we'll just hit them with "Rank 1 on Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! 2011 bitches!"
Got to hurry though, we might not keep that title for next year :heh: :uhoh:
How can we lose the title for 2011? We'll always have that, we just might not win 2012.
Boku Tomodachi is incredibly funny from what I've seen of the manga, and something I am most definately looking forward to anime wise.
IS is really that popular tho? Tht is a serious shock. It doesn't really deserve it; at least from the anime It wasn't anything particularly special in any way shap or form. Not even the girls or the mechs really sparked my interest. It was so boring I didn't even watch the finl episode, though I struggled through the others.
And about Styl? Most likely its a combo of looks and plausble deniablity.
He doesn't look 14 in the anime. They've never mentioned his age. Therefore with Styl they can look the other way and pretend not to know he truth.
Its the opposite way with Komoe. They make a distinct point that she's a proper adult who can do these things, and if censorhip gets heavy they can rub her true age in their faces.
Basically i one they are going bse on looks, and on the other their true age in a glorious Double Standard.

Well, that's still torture... mental torture. But I agree, that's probably a lot more effective than physical torture.
I once heard of using barney the dinosaur's songs to break the minds of the prisoners... Dunno how real is that rumor, but it would definitely work on me.

I've just started getting into Bokutomo recently, but I quite enjoy it, it's fun. It deserves it's popularity.

I liked IS...
Anyway, as for IS, one of the happiest days I've had recently was when the BD sales were announced, I could laugh in the face of all the haters. :D

Ehh, the thing with Stiyl is, he's tall, he wears those voluminous priest robes and he smokes. Other than that, if you look at him, you'll see that he really looks 14. At my high school, there was a guy that was six feet tall by 14 and even had a beard, so it doesn't look that odd to me.

Anyway, finished Volume 22 yesterday and I must say: Hamazura sometimes feels even more ruthless then Accel ^_^;
Hamazura is basically a thug :heh: so obviously he doesn't know proper interrogation techniques unlike Accelerator and only does what he learns from watching Kiefer Sutherland ;)
Reading that part, and knowing Hamazura isn't a master on psychological warfare that implies Hamazura really did nightmare fuel torture with them. Their female leader didn't seem to be a professional (just a person with status) so I doubt she would hold back any info, after all, the one who talk about the Parameter List was... herself :uhoh:.
Ahh, you mean shows that have the same genre?
Mecha + Harem (RomCom)
Mecha-wise, it still has a long way to go before reaching the likes of Gundam, Code Geass and Macross.
Harem (RomCom) wise? It's pretty much the best selling series of that genre ever... Unless you count Bakemono and Haruhi as Harem (RomCom)... ?
Haruhi and Bake are more like a WeirdCom.
-shot- it's like an evil version of Genshiken.
This is the line that describes most of that series.

reading the translated parts of vol 2 and about vampires, is mentioned that becoming a vampire is another step for a magician to evolve to a new level. Did I misunderstand?
Basically, they say that a vampire that a unlimited amount of life force that can be converted to mana, making them formidable oponents. But what troubles me is that in this case they still maintain their capability to cast magic. Is like they are no more than another step in the human evolution. It is strange.
Well, maybe i am thinking too much about that. Better see if There will be a vampire appearing during NT so this topic could be brought again.
Have to train my english more.

Technically speaking, 18 is not enough age to either drink nor smoke in japan. Also Kanzaki is probably honest enough as not to try to fool any store clerk; and if we judge by Touma's comments, she dislikes people thinking that she is older than she is (though, Touma claimed that she was 28 and that was just a little bit to much :heh:)
edit -> I checked it, and Touma says that he thought that Kanzaki was past the age for marriage... That would be over 30 :heh:

It's not an "evolution as a mage". Is that magicians are still humans, so there are still limits to what they can do; "a way" to overstep those human limits is gaining a body that isn't human, thus becoming a vampire.
There are other ways of going beyond the human limit, Fiamma probably had one of the best ways to achieve it without actually having to renounce to his own humanity.

hmm. But that way if they don't have the body of a human but still maintain the human mind they could still use magic. Didn't think that way. It's just the amount of life force that is different.

Touma once used "Vampires" as a example of "regardless of, it will be dispelled", so if that logic is true then if he became a vampire he would accidentally erase himself, in the same way if he became an angel or a golem or a homunculus.
While is true that Touma hasn't "corroborated" if he can really dispel a vampire, most of the things that he has used as examples for his IB have being dispelled even if he never had any contact with it previously (like (I think) Curses, Miracles (Luck) and Magic)

well, we will only know more about if touma discover the true nature of his power. Still, i don't think that IB is a power originated from touma. It sounds more like a power that exists in touma's right hand but it not "his" own power. If is just a part of his power or a completely different thing what we can be sure is that the only hint is the dragon head that appeared during deep blood arc.
Just like about the sword that index summoned while been manipulated by Fiamma, dragons are creatures that exist in a lot of cultures and are shown as powerful beings. Maybe they are related somehow. And I'm still thinking about the coincidence betwwen touma's dragon head and DRAGON(probably is something that kamachi made to make us think, don't know)

We don't really know if vampires would be dispelled... Himegami said they are practically the same as humans, they might just be another type of natural life form. And even if they were supernatural, it doesn't mean they would be destroyed by IB, gemstones are somehow supernatural themselves and his hand doesn't erase them.
There are also elves in the Toaru verse, somehow I think it would be the same for them.
... That reminds me, sometimes I think Kazuma writes about diverse stuff and leaves it lying around without going deeper, not cause he's foreshadowing anything, but rather in case he wants to use it in the future... Like some sort of red herring that might become a real lead after all, in case he feels like it... I think I just confused myself a bit :heh:

I think IB would erase the vampires powers, or in other words turn them back into a mortal. People get turned into vampires (don't remember how in this verse, did it even say?) through supernatural means so he would turn them back into regular humans. That's what I always assumed anyways.

Actually, the methods can easily be found anywhere- You can even find it on wiki, just type in interrogation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interrogation#Suggestibility). I mean, it doesn't really stray far from one chair, one table, one bright light, one dark room, and a whole lot of acting.
What they really don't want you to know is where, when and who they used it on.
Finding answers is different from finding good answers. This applies to both interrogation and wikipedia. Remember that the organizations doing the interrogations are also the ones who might get interrogated by someone else in the future. Do you really think they're gonna freely tell the world how to get the most accurate information out of their own agents?

Ahh now you're talking about the individual skills of the Prisoner to resist and the interrogator to drag it out.
It's like I can tell you the best way to bake a cake and put in on the internet, does it mean suddenly everybody can do it?
The methods are the same, Good cop/bad cop, Reid technique, torture etc. but whether you have the skill and intelligence to outwit your opponent, that's on the individual, and that's certainly not very top secret if there is documents about it.

But you're assuming that vampires are undead. That's not an absolute rule. I've seem other characterizations depending on the world, they can be undead, demons, sick people (as in virus infected, not necessarily lethally) or even just a race.

Given that her name is 'Alfar', and the Norse and Christian elements in the story, I believe Kamachi is using Scandinavian elves.
In Scandinavian folklore, which is a later blend of Norse mythology and elements of Christian mythology, an elf is called elver in Danish, alv in Norwegian, and alv or älva in Swedish (the first is masculine, the second feminine).
In Denmark and Sweden, the elves appear as beings distinct from the vetter, even though the border between them is diffuse. The insect-winged fairies in British folklore are often called "älvor" in modern Swedish or "Alfer" in Danish.
There's also something down the line about the Elves being diease carrying, could be the basis for Alfar's accelerated evolution aura.

I'll have to wait for the volume 2 to be fully translated for confirmation, but if the anime adaptation had it right, then it wasn't to make her immortal but rather to modify her brain so it could store an unlimited amount of information, and thus preventing her from dying by information overload (poor naive alchemist.)

Just from the top of my head, in the manga Karin vampires are a race, so they reproduce among themselves (though half breeds are possible.) There no conversion there.

Oh! Forgot to ask: Does anybody know more about the life force used to generate mana?
The novels described as magicians using their own body to act as a energy converter (life force -> mana), like how raw fossil fuels gets transformed into various materials like diesel, raw materials for plastic, and so on. Different systems (eg Shinto, Buddhism, Christianity) uses mana processed at different levels, like how cars run on different types of fuels.
This is all from Vol2 IIRC.

What I'm curious to know though, is whether this is like a gauge where it empties over time (empty tank = death), or it's fixed according to your lifespan, meaning that it will never decease so long as you're healthy (magic stat points = 100)
Either way would explain how Vampires and other immortal beings have the edge.

What I'm curious to know though, is whether this is like a gauge where it empties over time (empty tank = death), or it's fixed according to your lifespan, meaning that it will never decease so long as you're healthy (magic stat points = 100)
Either way would explain how Vampires and other immortal beings have the edge.
Empty tank does equal death. Oriana's spell in Vol9-10 that worked on Fukiyose was supposed to target a magician's mana store, but it works on normal people as well since life force is the basis of mana. Not too sure on upper limit, however.
It's been stated vampires have infinite 'MP' (using gameplay terms), but human mages can't reach that level. That's why people die when they try to fight vampires.

Hmmm, so it does work like that, and so for each spell they cast, it chips a portion of their life... But it doesn't seem to have an obvious side effect most of the time.... Does it mean humans have a large capacity for power?! Could it be enough to save the Universe from Entropy  ?!

The japanese concept of life force is tricky as it doesn't not only refers to "lifespan" but encompasses more things, such as "vitality" or "energy", kinda like how the word "heart" touches the meaning of "soul" and "will" in japan but not so in latin derivated languages.
Vitality or current "energy" (the source of "strength") can be replenished, lifespan can not. Personally I doubt magic would be so devoted if it would actually burn away the user's life with spells (remember that magician's do everything with magic in Index since they hate science; they threat wounds that a hospital could with magic, they do cellphone calls with magic, they don't use elevators and the like). No one would do basic need level of activities with magic if that would actually eat away your remaining days.
BTW, hasn't Styil ran out of "magic power" quite a few times? He has always been described as being exhausted with that and not in the line of "since he burned his mp, he died". Probably there is a point were mana "is done" with eating your "normal energy" and starts earing away at your lifespan, but no character has described to reach that point.

problably the "mp" they had is the only amount that they can storage inside themselves, and, if they force themselves beyond the limit they can damage their bodies to the point that they can't use magic at the same level they could before. Like Orville, he tried to take too much power of gabriel in his body and in the end he lost the "saint" attribute and was reduced to a normal magician. Its like in Bleach when Ishida was fighting against that captain when he took off his glove he was using an amount of power that he could not control. When I read in portuguese it was written "The fire not only warms but it can also burn". Problably is the same with magicians.

Here's a theory. When an esper tries to use magic, they cannot use mana like a normal magician and must use energy from their lifespan.

Except we already know that the reason why they self destruct is because Magic doesn't work in a body that has been altered with a Personal Reality.

To use more gameplay terms, magicians have both a MagicPoints gauge and a HitPoints gauge. Magicians convert some HP to MP, but if their HP is too low they can't do that since even with MP to use spells if they're out of HP they're dead. No point having MP if it means you lose all your HP in the process. So it's possible to lose all MP but not die in ToaruVerse.
In Stiyl's case (in daihasei festival) he was reduced to low HP from Oriana's attack, and can't convert anymore HP to MP since it's dangerous to his life.
[On a side note, Stiyl sacrificed 'physical defence' (DEF) stat to have a large enough MP gauge (and possibly a high HP->MP converting ratio) to use Innocentius (Pope Class summon). So Stiyl gets KOed easily by attacks if it hits him, compared to other mages like Motoharu or Oriana.
His 'magic defence' stat seems to be unaffected/average.]

So will this be the first official mention of Parameter List?:
“…If he kills 128 Railguns, Accelerator can shift to Level 6,”
“However, we cannot prepare 128 Railguns.”
“So we prepared 20,000 Sisters, the deteriorated copies of Railgun.”
We all know this one is quite old, is just that i saw this on the anime and now that i got the chance to actually read the source, i find myself awed at how Kamachi had it all just as planned with the Dragon(if you remember the first mention of Dragons, not DRAGON, was the Dragon´s Breath and then later on he created a whole character based on the legend of the knight who killed the dragon ---aka Acqua and if you want to call it like that his counterpart Knight Leader), the Dragon Arm, tree Diagram and Parameter List,xD.
Edit: I forgot to add radio noise, angel fall and Kazakiri to the list of just as planned, he mentioned the idea once and expanded it into something incredible once he got the chance, simply amazing.

So powerful magicians have longer life spans, which translate to a larger pool?
Also, does it mean that after resting, they can regain HP and MP?

Well, we don't know if it's a spun of the moment thingy, or it was a just as planned all along :heh: But yes, small unassuming events in the story do tend to have bigger (though not always greater) importance later in the story. The first six-seven books are really the set up for bigger things to come.

Heh, that´s the beauty of it isn´t it? you "can´t" tell if it was intended or if it was truly a spur of the moment thing, it just leaves you with a taste of "just as planned" when you read it... amazing right? countless authors, in all genres and medias, try to use foreshadowing and fail badly or end up having to trash the idea altogether; but Kamachi managed to soften the transition and mix them all into something great, leaving us craving for more and without having to reveal all the cards in his hand,xD.

There is a downside to this style though; it requires the readers to have PATIENCE. Not normal sissy patience; it takes manly bold PATIENCE.
It took 3 volumes for the true purpose of the Radio Noise to be revealed- Anime only fans would never have known it in the last episode of season1, so it would feel even longer. And it took 7 more volumes from then to see it come alive.
It took 12 volumes to see a follow up of the [Book of Law] story in the form of Aiwass. And on a more minor scale, 9 volumes before the Queen's Fleet makes a brief return.
It took 20 volumes, not counting SS(s), to see the follow up of the Dragon-Head of Touma. Inbetween, it was 13 volumes before his memory lost became a topic again.
It took 16 volumes give or take, for the effects of Angel Fall to be fully recognised, and 18 volumes before we see Pendex again.
And I'm certain we'll be waiting 18 volumes (since the festival), before the St Peter's Cross take center stage again :heh:

It does take patience indeed...
Don't forget how Mikoto's fans have been waiting for her to join the fray, and it seems like she's almost there, but still not quite.
Ollerus got introduced on SS2 and then made a cameo appearance on volume 22. It will probably still be a while until he "reveals" himself.
Also, we are still waiting to see a follow up on Himegami. Vampires were introduced with little explanation. Later we learned that Himegami is a gemstone, but it was just a tease. I got the feeling she'll play an important role later, but just how much later? ...
Or maybe she'll just get her own manga, where it will be a running gag that she does amazing things and nobody notices. Not even Aleister, the ultimate peeper... he'll be too busy observing Index biting Touma. Himegami will even make a vampire friend (thanks to the cross' magic) and she'll try to introduce her to her friends, without much success, even Tsuchimikado and Pierce won't pay attention as they'll be arguing whether vampire maids or vampire nurses are hotter... Ok, now I'm just letting my imagination run too much.

“I'm looking for Kamijou Touma.”
At the entrance of the classroom, there was a 'sempai' who really didn't look like one, peeping in from the front door. She had shoulder-length black hair, and her fringe is tied back. She's tall, busty, and was a beauty. The long-skirt of her sailor uniform looks like it had strong defenses. One could see her bellybutton in the gap between her blouse and skirt. She definitely looked smart, and was definitely athletic. Also, it seems like she didn't need to worry about money, only needing red tea to go along with cake. Though she's an adolescent, she could taste the difference between brandys, and even if she drove around in a red sports car, she won't look out of place. Of course, the latter descriptions were just an impression others would get when they look at all.

no way...shiage already has enough yanderes in mugino, that leaves touma and accel........but accel also already has worst as a troll, but now we have stiyl as another competitor along with touma.....stiyl's interactions with laura are some of the best moments of the novel for me but i'm 1000000% sure that laura will 10x bring more misfortune to touma's life than other girls.........how about a threesome between them?...actually i take that back how about a scene where laura pisses all four of them off and they start chasing her with there respective weapons(stiyl-fire sword, touma-fist,accel-black wings,shiage-...something),which ends with all of them in a....fivesome?(not sure what else to call it) but while they are in the middle of the you-know-what takitsubo comes and wants to take part in it for shiage along with mugino, awaki and worst(the last two for accel of course).

How do you display that? given that definition the subject is already removed from the experience, it's just an observer.
Or is it a chain of actions? ...
we enjoy watching people "feel through imagined participation" of badass-ness and trolling that other people do on yet another group of people

When you understand it is easy to see what he means, explaining it is another matter entirely though. Hmm, let´s see, is basically "feeling the experiences of others as your own", pretty much the feeling of when you read a novel, get inside it´s world and picture yourself in the shoes of the hero: what he does, how, why and what for, as well as, his fears, dreams and thoughts, making the character your own as they say.

10.8. "To Aru Majutsu no Index: New Testament 2" by Kazuma Kamachi
I think I will get a heart attack this summer... and go out happy...
George R. R. Martin has many awards, yet he's another author I haven't read... so if you don't mind me asking, what do you like about his works?
____
Anyway, realigning to the thread with a silly question:
What do you guys think... did Izzard see what was inside Touma all along? or does that being exists cause Izzard rewrote reality with his fear?
George R. R. Martin has many awards, yet he's another author I haven't read... so if you don't mind me asking, what do you like about his works?
What I like about his A Song of Ice and Fire:
- It is History-inspired Fantasy - Noble Houses, Lords, Princess and such instead of peasant boys becoming great Knights to beat an evil Dark Lords
- Complex, deep and often unpredictable plot
- Great dose of realism - don't expect one guy to be able to defeat dozens of foes. Even the best knight will fall if 10 weak people gang up on him
- Versatile, realistic, deep and likable characters, with a lot of development
- "Hero is just the Villain of the other side" approach - this means that very few characters are good or evil and almost every character is just a different shade of gray, always trying to reach some goal in a brutal Medieval Society
- Anyone can die - even if you are a Main Character and a good guy, you are not protected from death and injustice by a Plot Shield. Every character can die, lose a hand or a leg, lose everything he held dear, etc. on the next page which makes you care for them even more... be it a chivalrous hero or an evil asshole, fate won't discriminate
- "High on Magic... yet low on it" - meaning that magic plays a vital part here (it is fantasy after all) but it is not being used left and right. Most people don't believe it even exists. This story has a great handling of magic IMO
4 books (starting with A Game of Thrones) have been released up till now with 5th one (A Dance with Dragons) coming out on 12th July and 2 more being planned.
The first book got a TV series adaptation this year (Game of Thrones) and is one of most expensive series up to date. 2nd season will air in April next year,

@Chaos2Frozen - Great... so what do we talk about now?
I have something in mind, but there's two things to consider.
1. It's yet another Touma discussion so I'm wondering if I should make use of that niffty little Character discussion thread the nice mods have set up but is under used and overlooked all the time.
2. And this is the most important issue, far more than the first... It's passed midnight here and I'm going to sleep- So another time gents.
So... what would happen if Misaka Misuzu found out that she now has at least 9973 daughters?
Drifting Wolf
2011-07-02, 12:02
She'd probably wonder if they were averse to dress-up like Misaka or would prefer to undergo 'training' to win the heart of a certain spikey-haired boy...
Tabikake, the most badass papa yet, would probably wonder about the policies involved and child support. :D
Well, Papa Misaka already knows about 'em (SS2)... he just keeps quite because no flow-fixing can save your financial status when you start sending so much monthly allowance...
Drifting Wolf
2011-07-02, 12:08
Or maybe he threatened Aleister into sharing child support. After all, they are part of his plans, so he should 'take responsibility'. :D
Wait a sec, that sounds wrong on so many levels...

You just copy-pasted most of that speech from Burn Notice didn't you? While I'm sure there's some truth to it, taking interrogation advice from one TV show over another is kind of...
I don't know about that show but that is basic psychological pressure application
While we are talking about Misaka Family... are Mikoto's and Touma's now living in the same town or have I understood it wrong?

About Misuzu, I can picture her thinking of a method to name them all. :D

I think so, their mothers meet often don't they?

A loud noise woke up Aleister Crowley while he was floating in his can.
When he looked in direction of the noise, he saw the impossible a hole in his indestructible wall.
While dust was still up, someone raised to his feet.
It was Paa Misaka... shirtless. "Your ass is my Crowley!"

Oh, I can't wait till holidays come... Touma will feel so lucky when he finds out that his "peaceful" holidays will actually have quite a bit of Railgun in them XD
They do go sometimes home... at least once a year I hope...

Tabikake first grilling his daughter about Touma before having a 'talk' with Touma about Mikoto would be something I hope the author wouldn't mind doing if they end up together.
"Kamijou-san. I hear you are going out with my daughter?"
"Such Misfortune..."
... Personally, I want to see an Ollerus-Tabikake alliance against Aleister.
This has been in my mind for some time. Ollerus was ready to go up against Aleister just for the Gemstones, and now that he has Fiamma with knowledge of Aleister's aeon... :uhoh:

they don't say that fiamma knows everything about the new aeon, just that he knows one thing or other about aleister and what aleister told him in russia. Maybe they will have to meet touma later to talk about the "thing" hidden inside touma, problably because that "thing" is something that fiamma should already have known(according to what aleister told, that implies that that "thing" is something that should be from the aeon of osiris, maybe)

Was reading Vol 2. No wonder the aureolus dummy didn't appeared in the anime. For the anime they had to put censorship in that. Rating M.
Touma is the Imagine Breaker wielder and also the King of 10000 Harem, however, 9968 of them have the same personality except Misaka 10032, 9959 Misakas are scattered all over the world. Misaka Mikoto is a tsundere who love to biribri Touma. Index is a loli nun who bit the hero whenever she is jealous. Misaka Imouto aka No10032 is an airhead who would do embarrassing stuffs to Touma with an expressionless face. Himegami Aisa is too shy to confess to Touma and the author does not give her enough appearance time and she is an airhead. Kanzaki Kaori is a timid swordwoman with similar personality to Misaka about not being honest, but she has a more mature body and she is easily tricked into doing embarrassing things to gain Touma's affection (or to repay his favor in her words). Itsuwa is a strongcandidate second to Misaka due to her devotion and her passion to protect Touma by risking her life. Lessar is a loli who loves to tease Touma and show her panties to recruit him for England's army. There are also other potential candidates: Agnese, Lucia, Angelene, Kazakiri, Fukiyose Seiri, Sasha, Oriana, Orsola Aquinas, Carissa, Vento, Floris, and many more...
If Etzali's organization is right, then Touma's army will take over the Earth and become King, but endless trouble will find their ways to him nonetheless.
I prefer that J.C. Staff adapt the rest of volume SS1 and volume 14 to 18 in season 3, then volume 19 to 22 for season 4, if there are extra episodes then either put in stories from SS volumes or adapt the first volume of New Testament as a cliffhanger.

We really don't know the extent of Acqua's damage so it's hard to tell the "what if" for his recovery. Most likely the type of damage he suffered is enough so that "it won't naturally be healed over time", personally I think that is relevance in the story is going to increase tremendously now that he isn't invincible anymore, kinda like what happened with Yuriko.
BTW, volume 3 has been completed already at Baka Tsuki.

First and foremost, I would suggest using one of the surnames that start with a K, because I know some people who study russian and surnames that start with C are really uncommon. Especially the Cr, most are Ch. But K's are much more common.
Kruschchev, Kruezhev <-- I'd (in my own humble opinion) choose one of those two because they sound the same with different spelling.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is why I hate having to translate names.
Actually, there are no rules for names of people and places. Specially when they come from a different language. Take for example Ghadafi's name. You find different spellings not due to some mistranslation, but simply because there are many different ways. until of course the person concerned spells it how he writes it in your language.
In this case it comes from Russian written in katakana...right?

Well, Khrushchev (sometimes spelled Khrushchov) is a real Russian surname (Nikita Khrushchev being the most famous) so I'd vote for that one.
Of course, there's the problem with Russian having a different alphabet, so as outerelf said, whether it's Khrushchev or Kruezhev would be more a matter of convention as both try to describe the same sound. Yet, I've never seen Kruezhev in real life to spell that surname.
On the other hand, we don't know if Kamachi used a real name or just made it out of his imagination...
... Anyway, as contacting Kamachi ain't that easy I still vote for Khrushchev.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is why I hate having to translate names.
Croitsef was the one given by Kamachi and that's the one that has to be kept, it's as simple of that. We are not discussing what's right and what's wrong but mostly we are focusing on what the author was saying. Of course that Croitsef is wrong for Russian standards :heh:
If we start to go with "what's supposed to be" and "what it is" we are never going to finish; an easiest example would be Hamazura, for what I remember the reading of his kanji name it's supposed to never give Hamazura but something like Hamamo, but the author pushed us to use Hamazura because he wanted to; since japanese names can be "more exact" on that regard a proper "discussion" never ensued about it, but with Sasha's case things were left in the air so it's harder to "settle" without an official statement.
To me it's the same deal, kinda like how ability names are pretty radical when it comes to Kanji <- Furigana -> Romanji.
...... To me the actual question would be if Misha has the exact same Croitsef for a last name. Didn't the Angel tailored her name after Sasha and thus should be kept the same? Most of the fan translated media (wiki / baka tsuki) keeps Misha as Kreuzhev, which shouldn't be the case if we take it as if Misha did tailored that name after Sasha.
Did you have trouble with the Aztec names?
Those are copipe from other things, so they are easy to trace. There are cases when the furigana is exactly given in the novel itself, like the pics with the names of the aztec planes in the Liberal Arts City story.

Well it's unlikely that Himegami left the exact same day Musujime moved in.
Secondly, the Kamiyan disease doesn't spread from female contact, especially if they've never met before. In the first place, the Kamiyan disease is relatively weak in Himegami.

I kinda have been waiting long to mention this, but the novel refers to the Dragon head as "Dragon King" ( 竜王 , Ryuu-Oh). Do you people remember how Tatsugami (Otohime's last name) was written as Dragon god? ( 竜神 , Ryuu-Jin ), that fact really struck me as odd. BTW, I remember the PSP game referring the dragon as something else (I think it was Dragon Strike).
In other words, thanks to the Ping we now can have some Aureolus for breakfast (http://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/index.php?title=Toaru_Majutsu_no_Index:Volume2_Cha pter4). Thus only the epilogue is left till the main novels are completed, and it's nothing but fitting for Ping himself to bring this circle to a (temporary) close.
I love the front selection for Touma's psycho mode. :heh:
I would also like to note this:
What rushes out from the severed part on Kamijou's right arm isn't a human arm.
It's a head.
And it's a savage looking 2m large thing head that can only be seen in ancient legend--the head of a huge and almighty dragon king.
The dragon head that should be transparent is dyed with blood. The boy raises it and swings it, and slowly opens the chin that has a row of saw-like teeth on it.
It's like it's saying that this is the real identity of the right hand.
The teeth are bared.
On first glance, it may look like nothing happened, but in aspects that are invisible, it's starting to change. The presence of the alchemist that once dominated the entire room disappeared. It feels like the lead was forcefully switched.
Its invisible. Its an Invisible Thing.
Kamachi really did "Just As Planned" us!
Yep. That was to be expected.
But what the heck is that Dragon King? What beast could be that powerful as to make Fiamma go "Oh shi-"? Is there anything about dragons in the real Aleister Crowley's stuff?
Chaos2Frozen
2011-07-06, 16:31
The 'Dragon King'; the 'chief' or 'Head' Dragon, is called the [Pendragon], or Pen Draig.
History-wise, it's also the name of several traditional Kings of the Britons, but I doubt that's related. In fact, I don't think it's anymore than flavor text.
Breidaluk
2011-07-06, 16:54
Britons?
Well, Aleister told fiamma that the invisible thing could be something that he already knew so it is problably something from the aeon of osiris,...problably(¬¬).
I doubt Aleister would have any interest in it if it were from The Age of Osiris.

unless is something that has the potential to change to the aeon of horus. The thing inside Touma is described as something invisible so is something that can't be seen neither felt by others. Fiamma problably felt danger because he was at a level where equal to the son of god, while izzard just was scared of the form that it took, and we can't forget that in WW3, when fiamma was fusing IB to his own Holy Right IB was still with him so that can prove that IB and the invisible power are two different things. Well, its my opinion.

Like I've said people; I don't think the 'King' part is anymore than just flavor text- To make the whole thing more impressive.
I recently "re-thought" this based on asian mythology (I was reading some traveling a few days ago about temples and stuff), basically saying this like "the palace of the Dragon King" or "the palace of the Dragon God" were valid since they were close enough symbology wise (at least on the things that I was reading); if we go by the mystical jargon of the series we have that Dragon's are for about as broken as Angels, and that by "God" or "King" we have that it's just cheaper than regular dragons. This is, trusting the "clues" that have been thrown around and not taking them as Irony for part of the author. I don't think that essentially a dragon has to be in there, but it's more like a clue about what is on there hierarchy wise is as cheapo as a dragon.
BTW, I suppose that people noticed that Volume 8 is one of the shortest novels content wise, right? Kamachi kinda tried to make that up by adding several extra pages (more than 20) with designs about the first 8 novels, for what I have noticed many of them haven't been uploaded to most sites that have info about Index (I think that even rainbow spectrum doesn't has some of those designs), one of the ones that caught my attention was :

Britons?
Well, Aleister told fiamma that the invisible thing could be something that he already knew so it is problably something from the aeon of osiris,...problably(¬¬).
Tube dude said that Fiamma should understand what it was if he stopped looking at it from Christianity point of view, so it's unlikely that it's from the current christian age (Osiris, right?).

:heh:
On a note:
Dragon King is used as well on Dragon Breath which is also read as Killing Breath of the Dragon King.

Maahh~ I just don't want to overthink it base on only one word; Whether it's the Dragon King, Dragon God, Dragon Chief, or Head Dragon- it's simply used to symbolize a great power.

Well the text said that it was about 2m long; that's more or less a grown adult male size, and far larger than Touma who is only... what, 165cm?
Interestingly, I've noticed this before but I wanted to wait for the translation, the [Pendragon] (Yes, that's what I'm calling it now since Pendragon literally means 'Head Dragon') is made visible through the shape of Touma's blood which is similar to--
Thinking up to that point, Fiamma let go of the left arm that was stopping the blood from coming out of the wound. At the same time, Don!! The blood splattering out along with the explosive sound drew the shape of a giant invisible hand

It was mentioned in Vol 18 that the term "dragon" is a symbol for many thing in the toaruverse. One of them is a fallen angel. So a "dragon king" would be something like the king of fallen angels (more evidence supporting the "Lucifer"-theory, anyone?).
The 'Dragon King'; the 'chief' or 'Head' Dragon, is called the [Pendragon], or Pen Draig.
History-wise, it's also the name of several traditional Kings of the Britons, but I doubt that's related. In fact, I don't think it's anymore than flavor text.
What? Now, we're getting Arthurian references in this story? Seriously, I'm gonna rage if I see short blondie wearing an armor over blue clothes and swinging a holy sword running around! :frustrated:

It's Chaos' reference, not the LNs. Besides, the author went the Curtana route rather than Excalibur. Calm down.

It's more like the opposite, since the start it's unlikely from how it's phrased. In toaruverse apparently Michael dealt with Lucifer quite easily with just his right hand, Fiamma having exactly that type of power could have theoretically dealt with that right away. Or more importantly, he would have recognized it right away. Aleister went out of his way to tell us that whatever the Imagine Breaker is, we are not going to be able to tell if we source the bible, so devils and demons and god and angels and whatever are very unlikely.

I think the problem someone within the Age of Osiris has understanding something from the Age of Horus is similar to trying to understand higher dimensions from a lower one. You can create a representation using the lower dimension to understand it somewhat, but the only way to fully comprehend that something is if you exist within the same or even higher dimension.

“I really feel that your injuries every time are really interesting.”
In the pure white hospital room, the middle-aged looking doctor who looks like a frog said that to Kamijou.
“...”
Kamijou doesn't know what to say as he can only lie on the today, lowering his head as he looks at the arm that got held in plaster. The sliced-off part was repaired neatly, and this can be said to be the best outcome. The cells on the sliced-off part aren't damaged, after one day of emergency treatment, they managed to fit the arm back onto the body within one day. A little finger that's was sliced off by a delinquent can be reattached back—though there's such a 'knowledge' in his mind, no one ever imagined that such a major re-assembly of the arm can be done. However, if there's such a disgusting 'knowledge', Kamijou really can't understand what kind of person he was 'before his lost his memory'.
“On a side note, you've been hospitalised twice within ten days, and naturally, you became a topic for discussion among the nurses. Don't tell me you have a nurse fetish?”
“...What are you talking about? I don't have such a dangerous thought of 'being done in on the operation table'.”
“Really? Pity, I thought I found a compatriot.”
Kamijou wordlessly stares at the frog-faced doctor. ''Did this guy choose to become a doctor because of such a reason?'' If that were the case, he really wants to change doctors. Basically, he wants to press the emergency call button.
“Hn? Please don't be mistaken though. I prefer to 'do it' than to be 'done in'. And I prefer the delivery platform to the operation table--”
'SHUT UP! NOBODY WANTS TO LISTEN TO THE SPECIFICS! AND STOP DEMONSTRATING IT TO ME, THAT'S DISGUSTING! WHY ISN'T A NURSE TAKING CARE OF ME!?”
Thus, he really presses the emergency call button. The doctor gives a look of despair and says 'I'm going then' before walking out of the patient's room. What's going on? Why does he look like he really found that to be a pity?
Immediately after the doctor left, another person walks in.
A man who can't fit into the Japanese culture, Stiyl Magnus.
“Though I don't want to get close to you or be friends with you at all, I came here out of courtesy.”
“...Let me ask you. Why are you jumping about as if nothing happened? Can you tell me why?”
Stiyl puffs his cheeks and look rather unhappy, not saying anything at all.
If there's a need to compare who is more disgusting, there is none more than that patient.
All his flesh and bone got broken and scattered, and yet he didn't even have a blood vessel broken. His organs were scattered all over the place, yet he could survive through blood circulation. Not everyone can have such a precious experience.
“I actually wanted to more or less thank you for this time...but thinking about it, there's no need for that. What you did was basically just to let Aureolus self-destruct.”
“Humph, this is all thanks to this Kamijou Touma's perfect acting!”
That's right. Kamijou Touma didn't have the power to beat Aureolus Izzard.
But the magic Aureolus used was to 'change reality according to one's thoughts'. After that, it was easy; he just needed to make Arueolus himself think--
--That Aureolus Izzard definitely can't beat Kamijou Touma.
In order to achieve that, Kamijou called a bluff...in fact, Kamijou doesn't even remember about the fact that he lost his right arm. Though he thought that he should be 'acting somewhat properly', the actual scenario was more like his mind went blank due to sharp pain and shock. According to what some suicidal people say, excessive blood loss will bring about ecstasy, which could probably explain that mysterious smile of his.
Of course, the truth can't be detected. Since he has to act, he has to pull it up to eleven.
“Speaking of which, it's really unbelievable that we were able to survive. I got my arm cut off, you became a 'human constellation observatory'. It feels like we again start to appreciate the value of life...oi, why do you look like you're about to laugh?”
“Nothing. Seeing your attitude, I just thought that you didn't realise that I was secretly helping you.”
Seemingly looking down on others, Stiyl smirks and says,
“After your arm got sliced off, you managed to dodge Aureolus' bullets without even dodging, remember? How do you think that happened?”
“...Ah?”
“Your acting did fool Aureolus, but when it started, Aureolus couldn't have believed it immediately, right? After you arm got sliced off and you started bluffing him, the main reason why he started to be fooled by your acting was because you managed to dodge his attack twice, wasn't it?”
“Erm...”
Kamijou stares blankly at Stiyl like a fool.
“You still don't understand even after I said so much? Basically, the reason why Aureolus' attacks failed the first two times was not because of your acting but because I used my magic to create an optical illusion on Aureolus.”
“What...?”
Kamijou stares at Stiyl's face in surprise. Stiyl merely says casually,
“What's so surprising about that? I specialise in fire magic. Using hot air to create a mirage and manipulating the refraction of light to create an optical error, that's not hard for me.”
“Hol, hold on! I'm not surprised about that! Weren't you blown to pieces and scattered all over the ceiling? How were you able to use magic in that 'human constellation' mode?”
“'Human constellation', that's an interesting description...but this is nothing too strange, isn't it? I was still alive that time, so of course I could refine lifeforce to create magic. Good thing my rune cards were scattered all over the floor when I exploded!”
Kamijou blankly stares at Stiyl's Magnus' face.
Though this incident involved vampires and Deep Blood, he's still the scariest one.
“But you don't have to worry about that. I suppose you should know the sin you committed in this incident, right? I'm here today to talk about the developments after 'Misawa Cram School'.”
Sin.
Kamijou turns to look at the right hand that's covered in plaster. A Dragon King's head. Though that was a 'self-destructive' illusion that was caused by Aureolus' own anxiety, the one who forced Kamijou down the path of self-destruction was definitely Kamijou himself.
“Sigh, no need to show such an expression. What Aureolus imagined was that the Dragon King wasn't physical, but a mental image. It was just like an illusion. Though the body couldn't touch it, something that will swallow a soul will be similar to that.”
“???”
“That means that though you didn't hurt Aureolus physically, Aureolus' mentally broken.”
“...Is that something worth bragging about?”
“Of course it is. In terms of the conclusion, we just took away Aureolus Izzard's memory and settled it. In this battle against the magician who defended so strongly, the final casualty was merely the member of the 13 Knights in front of the lift. In the 2,000 years history of magic, this is the 3rd time such a happy ending occurred.”
Is this really something worth being happy? Kamijou wondered. He suddenly remembers something. The 'Gregorio's Chant of the Roman Catholics' should be safe, right? Perhaps Stiyl, who had his memory erased, couldn't remember it.
“...Speaking of which, where did that Aureolus Izzard who lost his memory go?”
Is he in this hospital, Kamijou wondered.
“Oh, is there a need to mention it? I killed him.”
I love the front selection for Touma's psycho mode. :heh:
Let's just say that I had lots of fun with that.

Thanks for the translation and you should do what you want most like baka-test baka-test and baka-test :heh: I want to know what happen next.
The Dragon King's head that came out of the severed right arm.
That should be a monster created out of Aureolus' 'anxiety' with regards to Kamijou.
Logically, it should be like that...but in that situaton, did Aureolus Izzard really think of such a tremendous imagination like 'there would be a transparent Dragon King's Head from the sliced-off part on Kamijou's right arm'?
Though the probability is low.
But what if, just what if, that monster's unrelated to Aureolus' power?
(...)
Impossible. Kamijou thought.
However, Kamijou remembers Himegami Aisa. The 'Deep Blood' Himegami Aisa is a girl with a unique power that can only work on vampires.
But since the power that's able to kill vampires caused her to have so many incidents happen to her, then how valuable is the 'Imagine Breaker', Kamijou's right hand, that can negate even miracles?
Besides, the basic question is.
What is the Imagine Breaker?
Right........ continue to think like this Touma even after witnessing holy right and the event when holy right slice your right hand. NT 2 NT2 NT 2

My response:
==Illustrations==
==Story==
===Part 1===
“Kamijou.”
This was a time when autumn's changing to winter.
It was during a slightly more harmonious lunch break.
She's Kumokawa Seria.
Almost everyone in the school finds her to be a 'beauty sempai', and there's evening a feeling that if they 'remove a layer of the exterior, they will find a smart robot'. Seeing that they can't get on with such a person, the students would just randomly say 'what?' 'beauty, she can fire beauty lasers' 'here we go again, she's looking for Kamijou'. They only know Kamijou's name.
There's still a group of students in the classroom who can ignore the beauty's presence. But the fact that the 'beauty sempai' is looking for that person has spread throughout the entire classroom.
"...Hm, seems like he's not around. Is he resting today?"
Kumokawa twitches her eyebrows as she 'can't find that person'.
Seems like she's somewhat unhappy.
Then, while looking like she's searching for a new toy.
"Oh well, let's ask someone else. Hm, who should I look for...that person with black hair, huge forehead and large breasts, the one imitating me."
"YOU'RE TOO NOISY, IDIOT!!!"
Kumokawa was looking for the one called the most anticipated freshman star, Fukiyose Seiri.
There's now a commotion of 'Ohh, she's looking for Fukiyose'.
On a side note, as for which part she's most anticipated for, it's most probably the part below the collarbone, the B of the BWH.
Fukiyose unhappily starts seething as she leaves her seat and quickly gets to Kumokawa.
"I had my hairstyle since 5 years old. Please stop making judgements based on your own standard!!"
"That's a coincidence, I had that hairstyle since 5 years old."
"ISN'T THAT AT THE SAME TIME?"
"But well, I'm your sempair. You're later than me by one year."
Uuu...Fukiyose hums unhappily as she closes in on Kumokawa and stares at her. Kumokawa finds it interesting as well, and plays along with Fukiyose by pushing her forehead around.
...With that, the most outstanding parts on their bodies that was obvious since kindergarten are pressing against each other, and those are the B parts underneath the collarbone. But it seems like they don't have time to notice this predicament.
Because of this, in a corner of the room, Aogami Pierce and Tsuchimikado Motoharu are lecherously staring at them and says,
"Heeh~~though this country has recession or tariffs or whatsoever, isn't that still ample..."
"And it's the place where it should be ample."
Beside them, dark lines start to appear heinously on the similar black haired Himegami Aisa (who's not large-breasted).
Fukiyose pushes her forehead over and says,
"Well, will the experienced sempair please tell us why you're here at this brats' clas?"
"Well, that's because...of this!"
Saying it quikcly, Kumokawa quickly pulls our the white envelop like it's a key card and brushes it between their faces. Feeling the heat of the friction, Fukiyose shouts,
"HOT HOT...!?"
"Hm~seems like you still need training."
For some reason, Kumokawa's forehead is shining as she smiles casually. She then keeps her smile and passes the white envelop in her fingers to Fukiyose.
What's passed to her is,
"...Ah?"
"It's just a letter, what's so surprising about it?"
One can tell what that is, but just right at the tip of Fukiyose's nose, there's a cute lucky item that's sealed with a heart-shaped sticker. ''Is 'that' thing inside?''.
The female Kumokawa is passing a love letter to me, a woman? For a moment, Fukiyose was stunned, and then she recalls, Kumokawa was here to look for 'that person'.
In other words--
"It's a love letter. Seems like he's not around, so pass it to him for me."
For a moment,
Fukiyose Seiri's mind went blank.
The large-breasted sempai smiles at the large-breasted kouhai who hasn't recovered, and says,
"Oh, please let me state this, it's a violation if you read the secret contents inside. I advise you not to do anything silly and help me pass that to him."
"Ah..."
"LOVE!?"
"LOVE LETTER!?"
"AH? TO KAMIJOU!? NOT TO ME!?"
Everyone in the classroom start to cause a ruckus.
Facing the stunned Fukiyose, Kumokawa seemingly whispers to her,
"...Ah? Why do you look like you got a shock? Is there a reason why you can't pass that letter?"
"No-"
"If there's no problems, I'll leave it to you then. This is just like passing a note to a kid who's resting at home due to flu. Even elementary school kids can do that, isn't tha simple?"
Then, Kumokawa casually waves her hand and says goodby, and the beauty sempair leaves the classroom.
As for the stunned Fukiyose, she's holding the love letter she doesn't know how to deal with. And then, after taking in all her unhappiness, she explodes,
"WHAT---!?"

“Kamijou.”
This was a time when autumn's changing to winter.
It was during a slightly more harmonious lunch break.

I thought it was only a coincidence that Fukiyose and Kumokawa looked the same, physically, but it seems the author was setting up for this encounter :heh:
But hey, maybe she really is a robot from the future sent back in time to protect Kamijou :eyespin:

why not do what you want to do?
Why not helping Js06 with the SS translations?
I finally realized both you and Js06 are unique on the whole Bakatsuki.
You should do some of the side stories. Although as long as you (or Js06) does New Testament 2 when it comes out I'm happy.
well i think is up to you but i think i am pretty happy if you take care the ss too (although the godly translator JS06 make me pretty sure the SS series will be done too) but i feel more at ease if you still join to it hehe
Thanks for the translation and you should do what you want most like baka-test baka-test and baka-test :heh: I want to know what happen next.
So a congratulations to you, a pat on the back, and a mighty thanks to both you and Js06 from the ToAru community. Feel free to do what you like :D
If you want to continue translating, then please, I WANT LOLI KIHARA :D
With all the main novels translated at the moment, I think Js06 is more than enough for the side stories.
If you are busy with other translation projects, what about the small science side oriented stories (as Js06 said, he prefers magic side stories) - uiharu ss (not even on bakatsuki page.. 13 pages), toaru jihanki no fanfare (31 pages), love letter ss (don't have it, but mostly composed of images, story should be short) and if mars ss not = uiharu ss, then that one too.
yesyesyesyesyesyesyes
Well honestly speaking? Since it's not going to cost the rest of us lazy bums anything, of course we'll say yes :heh: But I don't might if you take a 1 month break to recharge for NT2.
All that remains are the SS, with the exception of the Love Letter Battle, I'm not too interested in them.
Thanks Teh Ping for your efforts :D So the bet you had with someone finishing translating the novels before November is your win?
Since you're still going to do translations I'm OK with any project you decide to do. Contributions to TAMNI, Shakugan no Shana or Baka to Test would all be great IMHO.
As for what you should do Teh Ping, you should do whatever you please, though I would love to see Kanzaki SS translated, but don't force yourself on account of me.
Bet was with Suzuku, finished with 4 months to spare.
Only real reason why I'm so hesitant on working more on this series is because I don't want Js06 to be jobless here:heh: That was the main reason why I took it easy on the first 6 volumes. It was only until the time I saw the 'unlimited js06 works' that I kind of when trans-am...

Was reading the novels, searching hints in the previous vols and found something curious in vol 18 chapter 5, part 5, during the battle knight leader X Acqua, just in the end, when acqua was ready to use the powers of ascalon:
“I had hoped I wouldn’t have to use this.”
“That isn’t like you. Were you holding back against one who the dragon symbolizes?”
Knight Leader smiled and gripped Hrunting’s hilt.
In the values of the Christian Church, the dragon was the symbol of more than one thing.
For example, it represented pagans and foreign invading forces.
It also represented a fallen angel stained with evil.
The more I read of LAC, the more hesitent I become about it getting adapted into the Railgun anime.
If it did, it would quite possibly the most fanservicey arc ever, as 80% of the cast spend the entire thing in swimsuits.
Anime-wise, there would be at least 3 episodes with not a stitch of actual clothing in sight.
Fanservice is well and good an all, but I think that that level would damage Railguns reputation.
People on this forum all ready complain of it being a moe-blob anime. 3 episodes stight in swim-suits? Any cred as a serious series would go down the drain, no matter how much plot there is.

I'm hesitant about a Railgun Anime at all; I'm still of the opinion that The Sisters Arc should be a movie, otherwise just make it 12 episodes- That way people won't complaint about the fillers.
And lets face it, the Railgun manga is ridiculously slow compared to Index Light Novel, 10-12 chapters per year? that's not going to be enough, while as Index has been successfully producing 3 books per year, which is pretty much 1 cour right there.
In any case, with the fanservice in IndexII, I say we're just about even.

That's a love letter.
"KAMIJOU..." "KAMIJOU THAT BASTARD...!" "HOW ARE WE GOING TO MAKE HIM BREAK UP WITH THAT BEAUTY!?" Chaos strikes the class that descended into a ruckus, and Fukiyose focuses on the letter in her hand.
Fukiyose wonders, ''there's a sender and a receiver. I see, in terms of impact, if one use such an old-fashioned method like paper, the person may gain a huge advantage.''
Giving a bad example, it's like a transaction scam. Before the message is sent back, the receiver may have time to calmly think through to analyse and verify it. In contrast, the sender who wrote the letter directly will have the confidence that 'he will definitely not get rejected', and thus can forcefully let the other person accept it.
Even if the worst scenario occurs, words on a letter are still the best.
The 'sending' of the letter will show the intention of the sender. Also, the sender can force the receiver to respond before opening the letter.
And especially to the people who aren't used to having love letters, once such a scenario occurs, the receiver will waver. Before the sender calms down, the other party may ask for an immediate reply. The moment the receiver calms down, even if he or she doesn't know what happened, everything's decided. Isn't that a skill in itself?
(No no no, is it because a sempai sent the letter that I'm so spaced out?)
"Is this the letter just now?"
The classmate, Himegami Aisa, stares intently at Fukiyose.
Fukiyose fans the letter and says,
"I just got tasked with something really irritating. The boys' dorm is in a completely different direction from how we go to school."
"Now that you mentioned it, you're right."
"The boys dorm and girls dorm were deliberately separated, and now I have to go to the boys dorm. This just sounds like a penalty game. I'm going to be in grave danger."
"Oh...? I once accidentally went there..."
Facing Himegami, who said that, Fukiyose turns to focus on the letter again.
''How irritating. I don't want to be someone's messenger's, let alone that woman's. If I want to be her runner, I should at least check her character first. Got to let others do this. So what should I do?''

So I've reread the short "summary", and here's it in English for you people...
November 5th in Academy City, Kamijou Touma, Accelerator, and Hamazura, these three have finally met. However, this meant the start of the three-style event settling the girls who worried about them while saying "What were you doing".
When Kamijou, with a strange tension, strikes up a conversation with a depressed Mikoto holding the Gekota strip which was his, he sees a railgun hell. And when he talks to Index in the same atmosphere.....
Hamazura is barely found by the Mugino group who were playing the "those who lose is the Bunny" game. Yet there was a little girl who resembled the now-dead former member Frenda next to him....
Accelerator had had enough of the Last Order and Misaka Worst who banged in on him, but he gets angry at the coy manner of Worst, who had always butted in on him, while in front of Kamijou.
When science and magic meets, the everyday life story (comedy part) starts!
Okay, now it seems the Misaka Sisters don't have any bad feelings for Touma, leading to Worst's quietness. Probably what got Accelerator angry: after all, he's the butt of constant harassment by Worst, meaning the Sister must have at least no-so-good thoughts about him.
Also, Japanese to English translations are always so frustrating.

When Kamijou, with a strange tension, strikes up a conversation with a depressed Mikoto holding the Gekota strip which was his, he sees a railgun hell. And when he talks to Index in the same atmosphere.....
"Oi Misaka, How has it been-- eh?"
Mark my words, that's how it's going to go down- Touma is far too tactless to come up with any else along those lines.
Hamazura is barely found by the Mugino group who were playing the "those who lose is the Bunny" game. Yet there was a little girl who resembled the now-dead former member Frenda next to him....
"I'll call you Frenda 1.5!"
Come on! Make it happen!
Accelerator had had enough of the Last Order and Misaka Worst who banged in on him, but he gets angry at the coy manner of Worst, who had always butted in on him, while in front of Kamijou.
When science and magic meets, the everyday life story (comedy part) starts!

Including that disposition towards misfortune, Accelerator just had the difference between their fundamental standpoints reconfirmed for him, but Kamijou couldn’t read that far into what Accelerator was thinking.

Not quite.... the summary just says that she behaves herself (大人しくなり) when in front of him. Besides, the Original is already filling the tsundere spot in Kamijou's harem, so I don't think the author will suddenly create this kind of competition.

Being dere-dere doesn't mean that she's a tsundere you know.
Worst can be an Endless Erotic Hell but still have a girly scene- You might say it's an even more powerful effect to see a sexy confident girl being soft spoken and shy.

We can't be too sure. It does say she's just not doing anything particular. I guess I should have gone with just "quiet" instead of "coy" :upset:
Anyway, anything about my line of thoughts? The Sisters not having ill feelings for Touma translating into Worst being relatively calm towards the "hero" of Accelerator?

So does this mean the events of NT vol 1 take place less than a week after Oct. 30? And over how many days do the events of NT take place? (I haven't read it yet, but I'm okay with spoilers).

It's not said in NT1. If the NT2 preview is right, NT1 takes places on the 5th of November.
