In the first season all they did was reused the scenes and put them in different places but so far that has not been the case in this season

the only reason why I'm not is only because we can expect an episode with a lot a drama when it comes to Code Geass, same with Euphie we had a comic relief episode before that and wham then her geassing happened in the episode afterwards and some people here know what I mean with them turning on the volume for drama and tragedy for this ep..

Kallen is shown in a OotBK uniform twice during the OP as well, so I don't sense any side-switching yet. Lloyd seems to just be upgrading the Guren as a project of his own (KMF-otaku :rolleyes:), so maybe it'll simply get stolen... Like the Gawain :heh:

We also saw other knightmares appearing so that is not proof enough IMO. Heck we didn't see ANY mecha-fightning at the start of this OP at all, the mechas were just displayed before us, so...

And? As I said, ALL the knightmares were displayed before us at the same time - doesn't have to mean anythign either way. I mean, think of the previous OP for example? Kallen and Suzaku were shown side-by-side, but Kallen was in her OotBK uniform while Suzaku was in his KoR uniform, clearly hinting at them being on opposite sides.

Also, strangely, during the scene where the Order's knightmares start appearing, Gino's and Anya's were with them, and then Lancelot and Guren were together...

Also, there was a shot of a knightmare that looks like a customized *insert name of the knightmare Nina used last season* with the atomic bomb...

Wonder if this mean that we might see a Suzaku VS Kallen battle in a Kallen VS Xingke-style! :D . Anyway, I wouldn't take the mere fact that the Guren has gotten a Britannian upgrade as a sign that she'll switch sides. This would hardly be the first case in which a mecha gets an enemy upgrade... And is then stolen back somewhow :heh:

The falling masks we saw in the preview they belong to everyone around Shirley
she remembers everything but at times has chaotic flashbacks of the people she sees, then their 'masks' fall off and she turns into panicking, chaotic girl.. the old Shirley when she was brainwhipped by Lulu but then a little worse

episode starts with her having one of those flashback moments when she is changing for her swimming club, she runs out of the room, into Lulu's arms and screams before waking up in her bed when she mentions the already known data of Lelouch being Zero and having killed her father

new opening, didn't see much because of the quality, will update on that later

Toudou fighting etc.

at the station she comes across Suzaku who notices her strange behavior, Lelouch comes allong as well (date desu)

Villetta and Rolo talk, an alarm interupts them and they are told that Orange is on school grounds

Sayako vs. Orange begins

More talk about God from the geass ruins where Cornellia is, V.V. shows up she makes his head bleed and he's looking sinister and evil XD

Rollo starts helping Sayako and his geass his canceled, everyone goes wtf O.O
Villetta shows up and beggs him to leave, Orange does so

Back to Shirley who doesn't know what to do now with both boys at her side, she's so deep in thought that she gets another flashback attack and freaks out..
she runs away from them, calls Lulu a liar and wants him to stay away from her.. somehow she almost gets herself killed (hanging cliff thing -_-; cliché..) but Lulu and Suzaku save her

Lelouch is called by Rolo about Orange

this is where my stream ended and I later found a sound only channel
in the sound only channel I heard a confession from Orange about his role during the Marianne murder, though this was already revealed in the drama cd's of R1
Orange was one of the guards at that time, he kind of mind rapes Lulu and kind of himself as well because he still thinks that he has failed..
Not sure how Shirley died, but she died and I was right as the timing and the things that follow.. she has a death speech that takes up the rest of the times and Lulu ends up screaming.. sounded like Shinn and Stellar when she died lol.. is he going to kill Freedom now?

I don't think they're setting Lelouch up for THAT tragic an ending. Anyway, Kallen is the least likely to betray the OotBK. I CAN see her choosing to stay by Nunnally's side (thus "leaving" Lelocuh's side), maybe even fight to protect her but that's about it.

he is loyal to Lelouch now. Lelouch stopped the electric circuit. Orange would have killed him right after if he wanted to do it, but no, he switched side and said "Yes, your majesty".

No kidding. I really don't understand Rollo's thinking, i mean even if Shirley knew things she "shouldn't" it's not like she was gonna do anything. And Shirley is a dear friend of Lulu. Rollo is not supposed to hurt {and especially not killing DUDE} the people that he knows Lulu loves.
Oh God, i already long for the moment Lulu finds out the truth, he is so killing him.

Ok first of all, new opening is awesome because:

Preview of the upgrades of Lancelot and Guren. It also seems that space battles may happen at some point in the future.

Okay, about the episode itself.

The mask thing was used constantly used in the episode to make an allusion to Shirley's realizing that people were lying to her. She roams around the city lost in what to do, keep quiet about everything or go after Lelouch for revenge for her father. On another place, Xinqe and Toudou operations to put order back into the Chinese Federation seems to be doing well. After reviewing their progress, Lelouch goes to the city to check on another of his "projects".

At the Geass Directorate, General Bartley tries to explain the whole god-killing thing to Cornelia, but she rebuts there is no such thing as god. Then V.V. appears and gives a short explanation about the nature of "gods" (by the way, the little boy seems to be immortal just like the pizza-woman. I mean having a knife thrown at his forehead by Cornelia and then getting up like nothing happened...). Back to Tokyo, Shirley mets Suzaku and Lelouch by chance in the city. In Ashford, Jeremiah appears and starts picking up fight with the secret agents there in order to find Lelouch location. He eventually meets with Sayoko and the two have a brawl. Seems that Orange now has metal all over his body. Rolo appears to back her up, but cannot do much to help thanks to the Geass Canceler. In order to drive him away, Villetta reveals Lelouch location.

Back to Shirley and the others, the girl start to notice that the two friends are not so close as they used to be and relates it with the fact that Lelouch is Zero. She finally snaps and has a panic attack. She almost falls from the top of a building, but is saved by the two boys. After a friendly post-crisis chat, Suzaku awkwardly notices that he can still be friendly towards Lelouch even after all they have been through. Lelouch receives a call from Rolo saying that Orange is on his way. Suzaku tries to confront Lelouch about the suspicious call, but Shirley stops him and take him away. Jeremiah arrives at the building where Lelouch is and is confronted by a pair of guards that have been Geass'ed by Lelouch. The crowd see this and start to panic, and after Lelouch releases gas through the building's ventilation system, chaos takes place.

Back to Suzaku and Shirley, the girl ask the boy if he likes Lelouch. He answered that he used to, but not anymore because Lelouch did something unforgivable. Shirley says that is not that is unforgivable, but that Suzaku himself doesn't want to forgive. She then says that she likes Lelouch and has already forgiven him. Suzaku seems to notice the change in the girl, but before they can talk any further the chaos created by Lelouch catch their attention. After leaving Shirley in the care of some passing by policemen, Suzaku goes to investigate. Scene changes, Rolo is shown arriving at the place where the group is. Meanwhile, Shirley dodges the police and starts looking for Lelouch.

Lelouch and Jeremiah finally meet at the monorail station inside the building. Lelouch seems cornered, until he uses the ace in his sleeve. It seems that his other project was a Gefjun Disturber system hidden within the Tokyo's monorail network. He activates it and stop the sakuradite inside Jeremiah's circuits. This greatly hinders Jeremiah's movements, but he presses forward even though it damages his body, determined to find out why Lelouch became Zero. The boy then answer "Because I'm Lelouch vi Britannia" and starts to explain how he wants the Emperor to pay for what happened to his mother and little sister. This greatly moves Orange-kun, making him fall on his knees and confess that he himself failed to protect Marianne that day. Lelouch uses that in his favor and make the cyborg change sides (Jeremiah turning to Lelouch and saying "Yes, your majesty" made me lol).

On another place, Rolo and Shirley meet inside the building. The girl makes the boy the same question that she made Suzaku. After assessing that he was Lelouch ally, she ask to join forces with them, saying that she likes Lelouch and doesn't want to leave him alone. However, she makes the mistakes of mentioning Nunnally's name, which cause Rolo to freak out and activate his Geass to kill her. Lelouch arrives shortly after, when Rolo is already gone and Shirley is in the brink of death. The couple then exchange words for the final time. Shirley saying that she remembers everything but still loves Lelouch nevertheless and the boy fruitlessly using his Geass again and again ordering the girl not to die were the true high point of the episode.

Episode ends.

Ok first of all, new opening is awesome because:

Okay, about the episode itself.

The mask thing was used constantly used in the episode to make an allusion to Shirley's realizing that people were lying to her. She roams around the city lost in what to do, keep quiet about everything or go after Lelouch for revenge for her father. On another place, Xinqe and Toudou operations to put order back into the Chinese Federation seems to be doing well. After reviewing their progress, Lelouch goes to the city to check on another of his "projects".

And you know I can't see a lot of people actually getting that. Most people are probably going to take it literally and think the characters are actually wearing masks and we'll got lots of "I lol'ed at the stupid mask" and "OMG I Kinae Take It Seriously No More".

I can picture it. I mean already people seem to think the Guren upgrade looks like the Destiny Gundam (It looks more like the previous flight pack upgrade then anything) and that the death scene is like Stella/Shinn. I wonder why some people are so desperate to find any way to compare this series to Gundam Seed. They are so different it's really just impossible to justify.

it's retractable. Villetta is shocked to see Orange. Orange leaves a trail of death behind

he comes across Sayako, she tries to stab him but is unable to pierce through

back to the geass ruins, Bradley tells Cornelia that Charles is trying to kill a God
Cornelia doesn't believe it so easily and V.V. shows up

V.V. talks about a Goddess but is shut up when Cornelia throws a dagger to his head XD
she underestimated him as just a child but he gets up again, V.V. is also immortal, Cornelia is shocked
she is even more shocked when he knows her name

back to Sayako fighting Orange, she is very ninja, smoke bombs and everything, she hits Orange with 2 throwing daggers but they do nothing to him because he is forced armour
Rollo shows up and uses geass, however just around Orange and tells Sayako to kill him
Orange's eye opens and he jumps up, striking Sayako in the back, Rollo is wtf and tries again but is caught on the ground
Villetta shows up, she begs him to retreat and he goes away

back to Shirley who is confused, Lelouch has noticed something strange about her
Suzaku is being his thoughtful self again about Lulu, Nippon etc.

Sayako is being bandaged, Rollo tries to hear Villetta out but she tells him to call Lulu

back to the trio, Shirley is still in denial and freaks out when their masks fall, she runs to jump over the ledge XD suicidal Shirley yells that Lelouch mustn’t get closer and that he is a liar, she falls backwards and Lulu grabs her
he jumped after her and Suzaku is holding him by the foot.. ooh dear

Shirley is all WTF what am I doing here and struggles so that Lulu will let her go but he tells her not to because he doesn't want her to die
dramatic face makes her reach up with her other hand, aawh
Suzaku pulls them up and up on the platform again they're all happy again.. uugh no one found it strange that she would jump
Suzaku is in denial, he doesn't understand why he's being so nice to Lelouch because he killed Euphie
stupid Suzaku...

Lelouch's phone rings and Rollo warns him about Orange and tells him that he has geass, he and Sayako are on their way
Suzaku is his emo not trusting mood again and asks him if something is wrong, Shirley whacks him against the back of his head

Shirley takes Suzaku away from Lelouch, she could be good for that job.. keep Suzaku bussy

end first half

second half starts in the mall, the police tries to arrest Orange and shoot at him, though he's a thin bucket and they have no use..
Orange reverses their geass and knocks them out, panic in the mall, Lelouch was watching the scene and activates smoke, Orange sees him

back to Shirley and Suzaku, she says that she loves Lelouch, subject changes to Shirley talking to him and the fact that Suzaku cannot forgive Lelouch
screaming from the mall interrupts their talk and he takes his Knight of Rounds role calling for back up
in China they wonder what happened to Zero because he's not at the meeting, Oughi calls in to see if something has happened and Villetta is the only one there to talk to him lol

the mall again, its chaos, Rollo arrived and Shirley is trying to call Lulu
Shirley is asked to leave by a guard but slips through inside the mall, inside she sees the K.O.ed guards and takes one of their guns

Lulu ran tot he train he was at before and finally faces Orange, he has a detonator in his hands
He presses the button, there is a device in the train that restraints Orange because of the Sakuradite inside him, Lulu's face here is beautiful, so backstabbing sadistic
Orange starts to short circuit

back to Rollo and Shirley, they meet up with one another, he notices the gun
she asks him if he loves Lelouch.. (like a rivals battle lol)

back to Orange who decides to struggle and walk forward, he starts to bleed from his covered eye and left arm
he wonders why Lelouch is being Zero and why he opposes the Emperor etc.
Lelouch states that he is Lelouch vi Britannia and Orange is in shock, he tells him about her mother's murder and Nunnally
after Marianne's murder he simply screamed, we never got to see what he did afterwards XD now we know.. AAAAH!
Orange admits that he knew her and falls to his knees saying that he couldn't protect her, he calls Lelouch now Lelouch-sama ha ha
he is crying ha ha! seems Orange is still very loyal to Marianne and the Vi twig of the Britannia family
He collapses and Lelouch stops the wave send out from the train, Orange's eye simply turns green like in R1
would be bad if he was just acting and would stab Lulu now XP
Lelouch says his time isn't over yet and Orange calls him Your Majesty ha ha

back to Rollo and Shirley, Shirley says she loves Lulu and asks if Rollo loves him as well
she says that he really is his ally, Rollo is confused, she asks him if she can become his ally as well and that she wants to protect him as well, Shirley wants to joint he rebellion that would've been fun
Rollo’s face goes cold and murderous, he activates his geass, flash to his phone hangar and a falling mask
it ends with that

Lelouch is running and phoning =< then he sees someone lying on the ground and freezes, he realises that it is Shirley and runs to her
he is shocked to see her in a puddle of blood with a gun in her hands, she however was stabbed
she opens her eyes and is glad to see him for a final time, he wants to call for help but she stops him
she says she remembers everything, Lelouch will change the world that is why she supports him, she loves him even though after what happened to her father and she hated him for it
but she fell in love again, Lelouch pulls of his lens and tells her not to die in a geass command, second time geass use but this can also be because it was reversed
but he keeps on spamming it multiple times, he cries because it has no effect
she says she will always love him and dies.. he shakes her and calls her name and then screams
END!

The 2 big paintings and drawings of supporting characters in the ED. The drawing of angelic Shirley, etc. Nothing is given away. CC is in only one shot, consoling Lelouch like his mommy.

Nothing there really foreshadows anything or is meant to tease or give clues of the future. It's like they belong in R1 or in the middle of the entire series.

The OP is also very "subdued." We get a peek of some mecha. Not much.

The OP/ED just gives me hope for R3. It gives the feeling that this whole thing is far from "over."

And there were some shots in there that intrigued me. The map of the world immediately followed by the words lost. The weird shot of the Zangetsu launching into god knows what, and the shot of the ship in outer space. Maybe I was quick to assume this series wasn't at all like Gundam when we've got space involved. Other than that it's kind of hard to pull anything from it. It looks like it was made more for fun then anything spoileriffic. It's certainly a change of pace for Sunrise.

Still think the whole Guren/Lancelot wing thing is still just a stylistic thing and that it doesn't look like the V2/Destiny Gundam's Wings of Light at all. To solid. I think they just felt they had to make it look cool and such. Actually I think it might be meant to look like a knights cape or cloak. :cool:

Some of the higher profile characters aren't in the ED either. The secondary characters are given prominance. There are 2 big drawings/paintings of supporting characters in that ED sandwiched between drawings of lelouch with cc, lelouch with suzaku, schneizel, and nunnally.


CC is in only one shot at the beginning of the ending, consoling Lelouch. Suzaku is only one shot at the end. One drawing of Nunnally. A lot of characters are missing from the ED.

How are VV and Charles not there? How is Kallen not there? Hey, where is Cornelia? No tease of floating temples.

Nothing in there gives anything away or introduces any new key relationships or future occurences.

My favorite highlights in this episode

-It showing Viletta was not just a Lelouch pawn, but actually still had thoughts of betrayal in the back of her mind.

-Jeremiah's sword up the sleeve and Sayako's kunai's

-Cornelia is an atheist and I was laughing my head off when V.V. was trying to talk but Cornelia just throws a knife right to the middle of his forehead, only for him to get up like it's nothing. I always loved moments like that, example; R2 Episode 1 when C.C. does the same after the gunshot.

-When Jeremiah slashed Sayako, for a second I really thought he killed her, and Rolo getting owned.

-Lelouch's plan with the Gerfjun Disturber, did not see that coming, but Jeremiah crying, switching allegiance and calling Lelouch "Your Majesty" I did not see either. Guess my foresight is bad.

-Ougi is going to chat with Viletta

-Shirley why did you have to mention Nunnally? Rolo will die, hopefully in a very unpleasant way. I may not have liked Shirley, but that doesn't mean I want to see her gutted.

-I give compliments to Fukuyama Jun, Lelouch's screams of agony both with Shirley and as a child were very good.

On another note: I liked when the mascots representing C.C. and Kallen clashed during the OP. It served for a good chuckle.

Oddly enough: During the OP we see Gino, Kallen, Anya, and Nina. The first three have something in commong, but where the hell does Nina fit into that?

Summary 2.0 =P

in the changing room everyone is asking Shirley what happened between her and Lulu, though she shoves it off as it just being an event
Villetta is also interested and says something about love, Villetta's hands are shaking though
she says something that causes a mask to fall off her face to the ground, Shirley hallucinates this ofc
she then sees a memory, freaks out and runs out of the changing room, everyone she comes across to has a falling mask
she sees Lulu up ahead and his masks falls, she sees Zero and has some flashbacks.. the gun, kissing, being geassed by him and eventually wakes up in bed from a nightmare
she looks kind of dead

new opening yay! pretty Lulu in sun shine!
right at the part where geass flies you see his Zero mask and an unknown egg before that.. I can't make screenies of it because of the codec this one uses..
but it would be neat if someone could, otherwise I'll do it later, openings always have hidden future plot signals or important symbols X3

Suzaku sees Shirley, she tries to get away from him but he stops her. she looks very confused

Lelouch is out to test something according to Rollo, he talks with Villetta but an alarm interrupts them
there is an intruder on the school grounds killing agents, Orange has a sword sticking out his left sleeve.. like a long katar
it's retractable. Villetta is shocked to see Orange. Orange leaves a trail of death behind

he comes across Sayako, she tries to stab him but is unable to pierce through

back to the geass ruins, Bradley tells Cornelia that Charles is trying to kill a God
Cornelia doesn't believe it so easily and V.V. shows up

V.V. talks about a Goddess but is shut up when Cornelia throws a dagger to his head XD
she underestimated him as just a child but he gets up again, V.V. is also immortal, Cornelia is shocked
she is even more shocked when he knows her name

back to Sayako fighting Orange, she is very ninja, smoke bombs and everything, she hits Orange with 2 throwing daggers but they do nothing to him because he is forced armour
Rollo shows up and uses geass, however just around Orange and tells Sayako to kill him
Orange's eye opens and he jumps up, striking Sayako in the back, Rollo is wtf and tries again but is caught on the ground
Villetta shows up, she begs him to retreat and he goes away

back to Shirley who is confused, Lelouch has noticed something strange about her
Suzaku is being his thoughtful self again about Lulu, Nippon etc.

Sayako is being bandaged, Rollo tries to hear Villetta out but she tells him to call Lulu

back to the trio, Shirley is still in denial and freaks out when their masks fall, she runs to jump over the ledge XD suicidal Shirley yells that Lelouch mustn’t get closer and that he is a liar, she falls backwards and Lulu grabs her
he jumped after her and Suzaku is holding him by the foot.. ooh dear

Shirley is all WTF what am I doing here and struggles so that Lulu will let her go but he tells her not to because he doesn't want her to die
dramatic face makes her reach up with her other hand, aawh
Suzaku pulls them up and up on the platform again they're all happy again.. uugh no one found it strange that she would jump
Suzaku is in denial, he doesn't understand why he's being so nice to Lelouch because he killed Euphie
stupid Suzaku...

Lelouch's phone rings and Rollo warns him about Orange and tells him that he has geass, he and Sayako are on their way
Suzaku is his emo not trusting mood again and asks him if something is wrong, Shirley whacks him against the back of his head

Shirley takes Suzaku away from Lelouch, she could be good for that job.. keep Suzaku bussy

end first half

second half starts in the mall, the police tries to arrest Orange and shoot at him, though he's a thin bucket and they have no use..
Orange reverses their geass and knocks them out, panic in the mall, Lelouch was watching the scene and activates smoke, Orange sees him

back to Shirley and Suzaku, she says that she loves Lelouch, subject changes to Shirley talking to him and the fact that Suzaku cannot forgive Lelouch
screaming from the mall interrupts their talk and he takes his Knight of Rounds role calling for back up
in China they wonder what happened to Zero because he's not at the meeting, Oughi calls in to see if something has happened and Villetta is the only one there to talk to him lol

the mall again, its chaos, Rollo arrived and Shirley is trying to call Lulu
Shirley is asked to leave by a guard but slips through inside the mall, inside she sees the K.O.ed guards and takes one of their guns

Lulu ran tot he train he was at before and finally faces Orange, he has a detonator in his hands
He presses the button, there is a device in the train that restraints Orange because of the Sakuradite inside him, Lulu's face here is beautiful, so backstabbing sadistic
Orange starts to short circuit

back to Rollo and Shirley, they meet up with one another, he notices the gun
she asks him if he loves Lelouch.. (like a rivals battle lol)

back to Orange who decides to struggle and walk forward, he starts to bleed from his covered eye and left arm
he wonders why Lelouch is being Zero and why he opposes the Emperor etc.
Lelouch states that he is Lelouch vi Britannia and Orange is in shock, he tells him about her mother's murder and Nunnally
after Marianne's murder he simply screamed, we never got to see what he did afterwards XD now we know.. AAAAH!
Orange admits that he knew her and falls to his knees saying that he couldn't protect her, he calls Lelouch now Lelouch-sama ha ha
he is crying ha ha! seems Orange is still very loyal to Marianne and the Vi twig of the Britannia family
He collapses and Lelouch stops the wave send out from the train, Orange's eye simply turns green like in R1
would be bad if he was just acting and would stab Lulu now XP
Lelouch says his time isn't over yet and Orange calls him Your Majesty ha ha

back to Rollo and Shirley, Shirley says she loves Lulu and asks if Rollo loves him as well
she says that he really is his ally, Rollo is confused, she asks him if she can become his ally as well and that she wants to protect him as well, Shirley wants to joint he rebellion that would've been fun
Rollo’s face goes cold and murderous, he activates his geass, flash to his phone hangar and a falling mask
it ends with that

Lelouch is running and phoning =< then he sees someone lying on the ground and freezes, he realises that it is Shirley and runs to her
he is shocked to see her in a puddle of blood with a gun in her hands, she however was stabbed
she opens her eyes and is glad to see him for a final time, he wants to call for help but she stops him
she says she remembers everything, Lelouch will change the world that is why she supports him, she loves him even though after what happened to her father and she hated him for it
but she fell in love again, Lelouch pulls of his lens and tells her not to die in a geass command, second time geass use but this can also be because it was reversed
but he keeps on spamming it multiple times, he cries because it has no effect
she says she will always love him and dies.. he shakes her and calls her name and then screams
END!

Well if we go by the way the world map is displayed followed by the "lost" screen then it certainly seems like it's forshadowing a "World End" type scenario.

And everyone knows that the only goddess character in this series is Nunally. Seriously, does she even have any sort of character flaw? Honestly as much as I like her, she's a bit of a Mary Sue.
