I have seen the fumou version and from the posts in this forum, i have been thinking what if sagara is a real life person?

Then i will say, sagara is one of the best human being i ever seen, why?

People who grow up in war suffer alot, food, water, a sense of security and most importantly, selfish.

If you grow up in a place whereby you see corpses, people scavaging through corpses for money or food, you cant help but blend in to the surroundings and stop caring for dead people. Its the people who are living a peaceful life that will drop a tear for dead people, because they arent used to it. The people who grow up in war zones knows that its every man for himself, getting out of the hole you dug to save a running boy can not even get you killed.... you can even be brought to enemy base to be totured and worse, your family who is hiding in the hole is going to suffer with you.

To the enemy, only by toturing a man to near death can you dig reliable information. If you happen to overdo it and kill the man, you can always catch another one. After all, you need more then 1 prisoner to get reliablie information, that is if 3 or more prisoners give the same consistant information. In other words...... the first 2 needs to be totured to death to get reliable information, the third is the one that can proberly be kept alive because he is the one that confirms the information. But keeping you alive = more food wasted, so they are better off leaving you dead.

With such stories of toturement of prisoners of war spreading through camps and civilians, being captured alive is proberly more scary then stepping on a fatal mine.
Yet, sagara is able to keep his mental in check. imagine growing up in a house where all you hear are dreadful deaths and murders, you cant help but grow up mentaly disturbed.

Even though sagara live in such a world since young, he is not selfish. He actually place the life of chidori before him. Someone whom he just met, someone whom he does not has enough time to build affection for. Its like a kid who grow up in a gangster street and yet will help someone who he doesnt know. And the thing is, sagara do not like girls, so its not because of love at first sight that he saved her in the first place(though in the later part, love blossoms), its because he has a true sense of human dignity in him that has braved through many trials(his surroundings and childhood of war).

Also, sagara is a teen and he is very strong. He can take on 8 adult gangsters without problem(in his bonta kun training, he proved he can do it). The point is, a teen plus loads of strength = ego abuse. Yet sangara allows chidori to smack him with a fan in public without any sense of ego resistance. Neither does he discrimate woman with the "hey onna, the dojo is a scared place not meant for woman"<--- fumouffu series.

Sagara has many near death situations and witnessing comrades fall before him. Not to mention the limbs that fall off from his fallen comrades, or blood gushing out. That didnt turn him into a mentally imbalanced person. Infact, he isnt out for blood when he fights. If you shoot alot of people dead ever since you are a kid with a rifle, are taught to kill people by your coporal, usually surrounded by the sounds of dropping bombs and many times been forced in a situation whereby you either fight or wait for death... somehow or another, when you do any offendisve thing like punching a person, using a rifle, you should have a sense of blood lust. Yet sagara is not like that.

Many of my friends have reported that people in commando training are mentally imbalanced mainly because they are to survie in a jungle for 1 week(or 4 days?) with 3 water purification pills, no food and a dagger. Yes, they drink blood and eat raw meat, because you cannot use fire as it draws attention. And , all alone. Sagara is worst, mainly because any one of the 1000+ bullets flying around him can snatch his life.

So conclusion is, sagara is a pure metal ore. He has proven he is a pure metal ore because even though he grew up in a very drastic place, he is able to keep his innocent. Lets just say refined, we know that if we live in a place of trials and actually surpassed it, it makes us strongerl. Like love relationship for example.

And if i might add, Tessa has good eyesight and Chidori dont!

if sagara is a reality, then he might not even crack such lame jokes, i think he'll just shun away from people, most of them dont know how to converse well to the outside world

Heh.. that was a long.... anyways if he went through all that in real life, than he wouldn't be like he is in the anime ... IMO he'd probably keep to himself like what kamij0 said

Actually he was based on a real guy. It was a military guy going to college who just didn't fit in well and had a hard time understanding society outside the military. Sagara is an exagerated version of that guy. Ummm, wish I could remeber where I read it though. I know it was an interview in a magazine, I just can't remember which one.

Newtype Magazine.

That's right, i just checked, it was the December Issue and the guy Sousuke was based on was as one of the creators, Shouji Gatou-san said and i quote,

"...a commisioned officer for a certain military organization but at the time he was attending university in Japan. I'd always hear about the trouble he'd get into trying to live in these two very different worlds, and I'd burst out laughing. That's where I got the idea for Sousuke."
