Was a pretty big episode that's for sure. Kid really showed a great fight against Chrona. Though the concern comes up that his shots while painful couldn't do any serious damage. Maybe Death Cannon could do it, but that's still in question. Some good moves and really had Chrona on the run. Sadly his symmetry issue caused him to lose the trail and that was that.
Also was the Medusa issue coming to light. Stein really is sharp and his suspicions were confirmed for a moment. That intent to kill that even had him shaking after leaving the room. Just shows what a high level Medusa is at that even he would be shaken up. Then going to find some evidence to confirm the suspicions which ended up in that massive explosion. Not looking good for our zombie teacher+partner.Yeah that preview really kills the tension.
It's the only break they'll have for a long time.

As for this episode...
The high tension scene between Stein and Medusa was the highlight for me...especially the dialogue after the scene by Stein...he could have been killed there and then O.o
So these people being mentioned have only been revealed in the manga right?

Next weeks ep is going to rule
This week's ep ruled just as hard. Nice fight between Kid and Chrona. That Scream Alpha is one heck of an attack. Too bad Kid's OCD kicked in. Poor guy.

No, Naigs was named and had a few lines in this episode (which is a change from the manga).
BTW, I'm 90% certain that her name is actually supposed to be Kniges (cause, you know, 'knives'), but I'll hold off on using that romanization until we get confirmation cause it doesn't look right phonetically in English :\

And Kid's OCD cracks me up once again. I can't help but facepalm everytime he does something like that. The fight was pretty sweet too, plus this episode has put Chrona much farther up on my list of favorites for some reason. o.o

Interesting. I can't actually remember where in the manga we first see her, though. I wonder if the anime will come up with an explanation for all those bandages. Just because well, even amongst Death City's population it looks a little odd that we never see her without them or a suggestion that it's down to some healing injury.

Soul Eater is too hard to understand without subs T_T I'll just stick to my shoujo anime in raw...
BONES animation looks as pretty as always, Kid and Chrona's fight..is just amazing

Great fight showed by Kid against Chrona, although Liz and Patty weren't very effective against him/her.
The scene between Stein and Medusa was very intense and in some kind the highlight in this episode for me.
Naigs... hmmm... is she already a death scythe? Or is Spirit the only one?
The next episode seems to be filler. I don't mind filler, but why about Excalibur? I want to see Maka/Soul and BlackStar/Tsubaki back in action.

Haha I'm not 100% sure about that. [snip] The episode itself is, but the wording used and the terminology that they have in the episode isn't accurate. I'm not fluent, but I have a friend who is and they said a ton of things were wrong with the sub,
But it seemed as though this episode strayed from the actual manga a little anyway, so I may be wrong.

I wondered when things were going to start getting a little different seeing as the anime is only going to be about 51 eps, and the manga is still going at 51 chapters.
ROFL. EXCALIBUR WTF. No seriously, I think its all a big joke. Maybe the previews are only different in the "late night" version or whatever, but I swear a filler about Excalibur just blows me away. LOL.

The animation for Kid vs Chrona was awesome, some of the best I've seen yet in Soul Eater (IMO of course)! Kid was so badass! :D
Also, SCREECH ALPHA! Man, that was so awesome.
The scene between Stein and Medusa was great, could really feel the tension ramping up.
Oh boy, let's hope that Sid and Naigs are ok. :uhoh:

I totally agree. I actually really liked the smaller lettering that they used for it. BUT OMG THAT FABULOUS PART WAS EPIC AND HILARIOUS ALL IN THE SAME INSTANCE. XD

I liked the small lettering too. I also, like how they did the attack names like Screech Alpha and Annoying Attack, a la One Piece. If it could have only been more accurate, than it could've been perfect. Alas, it wasn't. :D

I don't know about you guys, but the way Kidd holds his guns still bug me. Pinkies in general are niether as strong nor have the reflexes of index fingers. Oh well, not like it matters.
Kidd did really irritate me by getting distracted in battle. Doing it for gags at other times in the show is fine and quite hilarious, but letting it interfere with duty and what needs to get done is unacceptable.

It is, but coming from Kid it's only another example of this happening; his obsession ruined the opening assignment in episode three, and the only reason he snapped out of his daze long enough to blow the Pharaoh to bits is because he noticed it was asymmetrical. Not because of duty, or even that the creature was slowly killing him.
ETA - I agree with you over the pinkie thing, in that it does seem rather implausible if not impossible IRL. Personally, I rationalise it by considering this is a non-human fictional character; the normal rules of anatomy and practicality don't apply, particularly in a show based on so many bizarre notions and abilities. Like with Kid himself being the highly questionable offspring of Death, I rather think it's one of the things the author put in because he thought it looked 'cool'. But that doesn't especially bother me, as I'm enjoying SE far too much!

In terms of action and storyline, this episode was great! It's probably my favorite episode so far.
The action scenes between Kid and Chrona were beautifully animated. They did Kid's Stance of Sin justice. (IMO) :D
And things are starting to pick up storywise too. Looks like Stein and Medusa have seen through each other, it's only a matter of time before they confront one another.
Poor Sid, looks like he's in trouble. I'm glad we got to see a bit of Naigs. I like her. :p
T'was a great episode.
As expected, awesome episode but not really in the way i thought. Kid started the fight off kicking ass of course:D. And OMG at Chrona's screech alpa move.:twitch:. That was epic!!. It was a short fight(hence what i said about not being in the way i thought). Death the Kid's OCD kicks in.lol. I thought it would happen later, but in its place was the Stein/Medusa scene which was dope and had me a little on edge at the same time, if Stein would have said the wrong thing, he would have been done for:upset:. Medusa's evil attitude is sexy:cool:. We also got to see Naigs:)
9.5/10 but i gotta round it off of course when i vote:cool:

According to wiki her name is Mira Nygus and she's Sid's partner, usually taking the form of a knife. :)
You realize that Wikipedia is edited by fans, right? Her name has never been officially romanized.

Stein and Medusa OMFG that scene was so intense i think even i was sweating from the killing aura in that room. When they finally clash its going to be epic. Stein never ceases to amazes me with how much he knows and his tactics are great. Damn kid and his obsession i was hoping he would keep chasing Chrona but nooooooooooooooooo he had to chase the sun. I know there is a joke in there somewhere.
The marriage and pregnancy stuff was funny i guess i will actually watch a real sub eventually. Poor Sid i hope hes ok but damn that explosion was pretty damn big i duuno if hes getting out of this one.

That scene was one Id been dying to see animated ever since I caved and read the manga. Anime did an excellent job. I remember screaming, "I knew, he knew!!" when Stein shows up. ~fangirls~
Was amazed how was Stein figured out who Medusa really is. And Kid never seized to amazed me with his obsession - follow that sun! Great episode :D

Was only a short bit with blocking her attack the first time. Much as he might like to avoid it think Spirit will have to team up with Stein once again on this one. Of course long as Stein didn't say it outright that she was a witch could avoid a fight since no way Medusa would want to start something within Shibusen.
Well somehow I think Sid will survive it. Takes a bit to kill a zombie after all. Though I have no doubt that kind of explosion would hurt like hell. Little more concerned about his partner here. Even a weapon will have a tough time with big explosions and collapsing buildings.
True, true, Medusa wouldn't have started something in Shibusen right there and then. This appears to be quite the bluff she's pulling off right under the Shinigami's nose. Far too calculated, it seems, to give in on the revelation that Stein's onto her.

So far so very cool and stylish as usual.
Though...
1) I'm very ambiguous about Patty-Chan right now... Not sure to whether consider her adorably cute or creepy as hell.... Her childish laughter of late has become quite freqent and more often than not inappropriate. :heh:
2) Best animated fight of the season to date, with the Exception of Tsubaki vs Demon Blade.
3) Kid GET THERAPY BEFORE YOU GET KILLED!! :heh:
I go with the latter where Patty's concerned. Her reaction to some situations is just a neat bit of dark humour.
I'm am really worried Kid's obsession will get him into serious trouble at some point in the series. It's a real liability with him; absurdly powerful, but thanks to his bad habits he doesn't always use his power in the right way.
It seems to me that without his distractions, Kid would have made short work of any opponent he's faced so far, including Chrona and Nidhogg's attacks didn't even faze him once Kid was armed, therefore symmetrical and paying attention. No challenge for him makes things a little less entertaing for us (though, personally, seeing him go all 'serious' in episode 6 was great fun, not least because even then he was holding back).

But while i understand Kidd's problem (or he may be too overpowered), i still feel sore at the fact he left the suspects to chase after the sun >.>

The whole pregnancy and marriage with Kidd and Medusa was due to a parody fansub.
Can't wait to see Stein and Spirit go together. Always wanted to see the Deathscythe at its best.
But I guess everyone's read the manga and thus does not inquire much about Kidd's preposition to Shinigami-sama... **Why can't you leave Shibusen!**.
Kidd is smart too. When the Demon Blade told him of the Demon God that's *under their nose*, Soul-kun was the only one that came to my mind. It overshadowed Shinigami's reason of being unable to leave Shibusen for a period in my mind. But Kidd is really sharp. He picked it up and now his dad's on the spot. Will he lie for his son, or will he tell him the truth, and the whole truth at that?

This is true, and actually now that I think of it Kid's only advantage was his speed, as that was what allowed him to get a few hits in even though it didn't add up to much.
Given the number of souls Ragnarok consumed from the ship alone, I wonder if Kid using even Death Cannon would have made much of a mark on the creepy duo. Size-for-size Chrona's soul looked far larger using Screech Alpha then Kid's did in episode 6.
Which puts back the only victory (well, more or less...) against Chrona/Ragnarok to Dr. Stein and Mister Albarn.

Finally watching the late show...
- This eye-catch is the first time I've laughed at the late show in a while
- Medusa was looking for Maka Albarn's file under 'M'? :heh:
- Has to be said again, yay Naigs! (her name clearly only has one syllable...)
So next episode has King Arthur, Sherlock Holmes, and West Side Story? Did I miss anything? :heh:

Yeah for one of the best anime's of the year, this sure doesnt get that much attention as it should, for having its on section, its pretty dead. Whats wrong wit the people of this site:frustrated:

I dunno, the series is at least as good if not better than D.Gray Man.
Thought the ep was good and hints at a much deeper story soon. I was kinda sad that Stein was still afraid of Medusa. I guess he still needs a weapon to be really confident against a witch.

I dont think its Medusa in general he's afraid of, I think it was more he hadnt felt "fear" of any kind in a while and Medusa's death look reminded him of this. It could have been given by anyone but it happened to be Medusa. I loved it since Stein is kinda protrayed as silly-mad-scientist-sadist and seeing him remember how it feels to be afraid let us know he's still kinda human.
