Well Lelouch might die and reunites with someone he likes, a nice end but an unsatisfying one.
I call it a satisfying ending for Lelouch. (Lelouch x Shirley)

I like GuilfordxCornelia, but yeah I am not happy with them bringing him back. He should have stayed dead.

I also don't like how all these characters are coming back to "life". It cheapens their "death". I hope no one else comes back in 25. :twitch:
I like Cornelia/Guilford as well but they were both dead so they were already together in a sense. There was no need to revive them. It added nothing to the story.
Yeah Suzaku and Euphimia is more likely, I'll be satisfied by that.
As for LelouchxShirley it would be satisfying but might piss some fans off. :p

Not so much a Resolution, but at least some sort of understanding. Kallen said in episode 20 that she can't move on until she gets an answer. I take this as meaning she can't move past her feeling for Lelouch until she knows why he told her to live on. Her character song talks about her moving forward, which indicates she got the answers she needed.
EDIT: Unfortunately, the song also indicates that Lelouch isn't around anymore. :(

Now that I actually watch the subs, I say if Lelouch lives it look like he may end up with C.C. assuming if she doesn't die. However, if he does die then Shirley or Euphie wins.

Euphie's not going to win. (Lelouch anyway...) This is a nationally syndicated tv show, not an eroge. there are certain taboos that just won't be broken in this format. :heh:
I must say though I have enjoyed Kalulu and been a fan of it, if at the very end she is not able to see through his mask I just won't be able to support the pairing at all. Don't want to piss anyone off here, but that's how I feel. Even if she doesn't "win" I would support it. She doesn't have to win for me to be a Kalulu fan. But she does need to see the real Lelouch. Lulu should be with someone who understands him and can see through him. Right now, I must admit that person is C.C. I guess ultimately I am a Lelouch fan first and I look to what is best for his character. And I think what is best is for him to be with someone who truly knows him. That's why if he does end up with C.C., that's fine with me so long as he loves her. And hey, she is a cool character anyway so it's not like he is ending up with someone I hate. :) That's unlike a certain other pairing in another anime I watch (I really dislike the other girl in that one).
I hope the last episode will give us something. I don't expect a Kalulu win, but I hope at least for some kind of understanding and for Kallen to finally see beyond his mask. Guess I'm just a bit frustrated....Kallen has learned so much about Lelouch and we've had a whole season of development and yet still she can't see the real Lelouch.

Without a doubt I'm routing for Lulu x CC til the end...if Kallen gets involved than I'll launch a rebellion against it!! I'm suprised you haven't set out pairing for deceased...ok, it's not going to end up that was a one or both have died but I'd be pretty interested in how many ppl support Lulu x Shirley or Suzaku x Euphemia...I didn't like Lulu x Shirley as I'm 100% supportive of Lulu x CC ~end of!
I do like Tianzi and Xingke though the whole age/height gap is pretty extreme!! Feel sorry for Rival but I'm happy that Milley isn't with Lloyd..not for or against Rival x Milley.

I just want Kallen to find happiness. Heck, even C.C. been shown to being satisfied/happy more than Kallen this season. Kallen has so many emotions going in her mind right now, I hope she calms down a bit next episode. Regarding Kalulu, I think they are just going the tragic route. Could be the reason why they been dragging it through the entire season. This episode was good for the Lelouch x C.C. fans though.

I wrote this in the Spoiler & Speculations thread. I don't feel like typing it all out again, so I'll just paste it here since it deals somewhat with what you're talking about.
Right now Kallen wants to kill Lelouch and Suzaku (technically, not so much 'want,' but feels the need to be the one who does it). As far as she can tell, Lelouch played her the whole time (even when 'pretending' to be her friend and caring for her). The only reassurences she had otherwise were Lelouch and C.C., who together attacked a peace summit, kidnapped political deligates (including Kaguya and Tian Zi), blew up a mountain and nearly killed many of their common friends/allies and is attacking the guy who helped 'expose' his evil. She not happy about it. She loves Lelouch, C.C. was like a sister. But it's something she feels she needs to do. As far as she knows even the 'live on' was a ploy because he got rescued by Rolo at the last moment (She can't know that Lelouch was expecting to die at that moment).
However, the Animedia conversation (I know, it's not 'canon,' but it probably contains the essence of what will happen), the gum line, her character song AND the fact that Tian Zi and Kaguya 'escaped' from Lelouch indicates that the truth will be revealed soon. So I'm sure there will be some resolution of her feelings (not necessarily romantic, but at least some closure).
My point is that Kallen's entire development this season has been to see the real Lelouch, then Lelouch crushed that by saying he was fooling her the whole time and reinforced that by acting like a Grade A DB. Still, the fact that she feels that she be the one to bring him down shows that he is still the primary motivator in her life. She can't let go, she can't move on. She feels that because she was his ace helping him get so far, she needs to take him down. On some level, she's still in love with him.
However, her character song distinctly says that she is 'moving forward on the path you believe in,' contrasting her earlier remarks in episode 20 of not being able to move forward w/o answers. She's going to get answers and finally discover the True Lelouch. The one who, according the the preview, is going to make Truth out of Lies (a subject touched on by Kallen in episdoe 7 and Suzaku in episode 17). The answer may not be a romantic one, but I believe she'll at least understand the depth which she came to mean to him: at the very least a close friend and someone he could trust with his life and was willing to sacrifice himself for.
This is my belief at this point at any rate. We shall all see next week.

I've got some things in mind, starting with a conclusion for "Memories of the Rebellion," but I'm going to hold off until the last episode so I can stay as close to canon as possible.

It might not. Lelouch's entire career has been an endless series of not being understood by others, even those who benefit the most from his actions. As a citizen of Japan, Kallen is someone who has benefited from what Lelouch has done, (and if the fact Lelouch handed over the UFN members just like that is indication, is still doing) but doesn't understand why.
With only one episode left, she may very well end up as one of the countless bystanders who will never truly understand Lelouch did for them. In other words, Kallen's character development will be sacrificed for Lelouch's.
Possible outcomes coming in mind right now:
-Kallen defeats susaku. She goes towards lelouch and sees lelouch geassing nunnaly to forget him. She asks him why he did that, adding that if he did it because he loves her she´ll never forgive him because that´s the cruelest thing a brother could do to his sister. He explains what is ZR about and she reluctantly accepts to take care of nunnaly, Gino also survives btw.
-Kallen, Gino and Susaku stop fighting because lelouch (Or Schneizel) manages to communicate and tell them to stop the fight. They all gather and ZR is explained. Lelouch orders Schneizel to escape, tell the world that Lelouch Vi Brittannia was dead inside damocles when it exploded, and orders him to from now on use all his efforts in maintaining world peace just like nunnaly wishes. Then Schneizel escapes with Kallen, Gino, Nunnaly and Kanon. Kanon goes along with the plan because even though Schneizel is being geassed, he know has a reason to live and never saw Schneizel that way before. The whereabouts of Susaku and Lelouch are unknown, as well as C.C´s who is waiting for someone in a coast looking at the sea, probably in australia.

While I am not sure about everyone else because it seems Lelouch wants everyone to think he is an evil bastard and is doing everything in his power to make people think that. I am 100% positive that in the end Kallen at least will see and believe in the real Lelouch.

That would be useless and inconsistent.
Why? Because the series surely didn't treat her as yet another bystander until this point.
From that point of view, it wasn't necessary at all to give Kallen as much focus as they gave her, if the final result was going to be the same as if she had been clueless from day one until the end.
C.C. could have used more of that screen time if Kallen was just going to end up being a clone of all the other Black Knights.
That hardly does anything for Lelouch's character development, unless there is at least some understanding or interaction between them that resolves what was in fact built-up.
Again, not in terms of romance, that's not the main point and I've never been a hardcore shipper for either side, but purely in terms of what the story itself set up.

As someone who supports both CluClu and Kalulu I am sorry to say that no one has won until it is over. In the end I will say that Lelouch cares about both Kallen and CC very much. And I am pretty sure we will get lovely final moments for both shippers. Although ultimately I am not really sure if Lelouch will end up romantically with either. But don't give up or declare yourself the winner until it is over.

@Orga: I'll ship Kalulu till the end, but I already had a feeling they weren't going to end up together. Lulu never tried hard enough to show US that he truly loved Kallen... and after she kissed him and he was like "um...." I knew it was over... and now Suzaku is standing in her way as well? Bah... tired of the interruptions.

I don't understand where all this sureness is coming from from both sides, whether it be negative or positive or some odd mixture of both. Every pairing has problems immemorial that both sides overlook like rabid shoppers at a clearance sale. :uhoh:
Let's start with C.C. x Lelouch:
The Code - Why? Because this makes a relationship either incredibly difficult or eventually incredibly painful. There has been no presented method to escape this other than to pass the Code, or losing ones memories/dying.
Season 2 - No matter what anyone says, the amount of focus on C.C. this season has been limited to around 3 episodes. This is simply factual. One of them was half way through the season, two of them were just now. I'm not one to wave the 'crappy development' flag, but in this case, and with the forgotten or pointless existence of the young C.C., it's waving on its own.
She's in the Ocean - For everyone jumping out of their shoes to be happy at this episode, which I still don't see as having accomplished much of anything for anyone (much as I saw Season 2 Episode 22 as nothing more than a stall), you've all seemingly forgotten that, barring some incredible plot convenience, C.C. will not be present at Lelouch's hour of judgment. His hardest moment. His confrontation with Nunally. Suzaku, Kallen, and hell, maybe even Gino, will be there.
Now onto Kallen x Lelouch:
Thick headed - Both parties are idiots when it comes to their feelings. They'd need to be hit upside the head to realize anything, and when you put two of them together, add in some hormones, a bit of war, and you get this mess. Kallen's core character is keeping with what was established in Season 1, but Season 2 seems to have more or less disappeared under the waves of angst.
Angst - Which brings me to this point. Angst. Not much else to say.
The Plot - The biggest hurdle to this pairing has become obvious over the last few episodes, and it is the plot. Their character development has seemingly been tossed aside for the plot's sake and the big mech battles. This would also double as a positive for C.C..
Suzaku - She'll be fighting him... :heh:
What is my opinion on this? I'm looking at this and seeing a tragic ending for both Kallen x Lelouch, and C.C. x Lelouch. Neither pairing will come out 'alive' but at the same time, both will be pseudo-canon or, at the very least, a toss up. At the end of the day, however, I'd say both ships exploded this episode and now its really a question of which ship can create a life raft. :heh:

You've every right to feel confident but these are not simple obstacles. The gumline is a wild card. Ambiguous ending hurts everyone.
And if death solved anything people wouldn't still be arguing Aerith vs Tifa in Final Fantasy 7

What is my opinion on this? I'm looking at this and seeing a tragic ending for both Kallen x Lelouch, and C.C. x Lelouch. Neither pairing will come out 'alive' but at the same time, both will be pseudo-canon or, at the very least, a toss up. At the end of the day, however, I'd say both ships exploded this episode and now its really a question of which ship can create a life raft. :heh:
Not that I disagree with your assessment but my optimism is still on full blast. I may very well be riding on the Titanic with this but until I am knee deep in water everything is still afloat. :p

I know their not simple obstacles but all of them can hurt ether pairing. i also know that the gum line is a wild card. depending on who its directed at it can ether make or brake ether of the pairings. if its dirrect at c.c. then cluclu is most likely going to happen. and if its directed at kallen herself then kalulu is more likely to happen. however after this episode cluclu had better devolopement . kallen is also on a diffrent side then lelouch which hurts that pairing. unless kallen magically decides to switch sides then kalulu is never going to happen and cluclu will win whcih for cluclu fans like myself is a good thing.

The question is will she get the answer to why Lelouch said "live on" and what she means to him. The Animedia conversation suggests an exchange by Kallen, Gino and Anya on the promise of Lelouch and Suzaku (presumably addressing them). I'm thinking the promise involves making 'Zero's lie' into a reality (something touched upon by Kallen in episode 7 and Suzaku in episode 17). When she learns the truth, the gum line will probably be said because she'll want to know why they didn't tell her (Lelouch, C.C. and Suzaku were all her friends afterall). After that, I hope, at least that Lelouch will tell her how much he values her as someone who is precious to him. The character song for Kallen for the upcoming drama CD contains the lyrics "moving forward on the path you believed in," which suggests she gets a satisfactory answer since in episode 20 she said she couldn't move on w/o an answer.
Point is, even if it's not romantic, there will be some resolution, and, at least, Kallen will be able to finally understand Lelouch after he crushed her and betrayed her (apparently).
I'll find that satisfactory.

I don't understand where all this sureness is coming from from both sides, whether it be negative or positive or some odd mixture of both. Every pairing has problems immemorial that both sides overlook like rabid shoppers at a clearance sale. :uhoh:

Since you talked about the negative things about both pairings I am going to take about the positive things. Because whoever Lelouch ends up with I feel there is a lot to like about both these relationships.

* Lelouch telling Kallen lets go back to Ashford together
* Lelouch telling Kallen to live on and goodbye. Lelouch tends to not give this type of consideration for anyone else. But he specially has parting words for Kallen.
* Kallen being the last one to stay by Lelouch's side during the black Knights betrayal. She only leaves after she hears what Lelouch has to say.
* Back to the live on thing, Lelouch wants Kallen to hate him because he is fighting for her too. If she follows him and dies all will be for naught.
* Kallen still being in love with Lelouch despite learning his true identity at the end of R1.
* Lelouch being angry that Kallen was taken away from him when she was held hostage.
* Kallen still loves Lelouch even though she is fighting against him. You can see this by the tears in her eyes. She doesn;t hate Lelouch, she is just fighting him because she wants to save the world. This is different from the rest of the Black Knights.
CC/Lelouch
* CC and Lelouch probably know each other better than everyone. They know the secrets of the others heart.
* CC says she will stay by Lelouch's side even when he is alone (I believe I remember something like this from season 1)
* Lelouch knows CC's real name.
* The Witch/Warlock thing
* When CC loses her memories you can see how much Lelouch cares about her.
* CC who felt she was incapable of love after all this time fell in love with Lelouch
* Lelouch is supposed to make CC smile (or is it the other way around, well it works both ways)
Another thing that people ignore is Lelouch. Kallen, CC and Shirley were all extremely important to Lelouch's development. As you might recall many times Lelouch has said that a heart got in the way of his objectives. But it was these 3 girls who would not let Lelouch throw away his heart. They are all people he cares about and wants to protect (or not let their death be in vain as in the case of Shirley.) To say one is more important to Lelouch then the other means you are discounting a lot about who Lelouch is. So even if he ends with one girl or no girl that doesn't really prove that he doesn't love them all in some way. And no I am not trying to say Lelouch is a womanizer it's just I think in this case the love is not just about who is going to sleep with who in the end.

At the very least, if Kallen was being wracked with guilt and pain over Lelouch, I'm pretty sure Sayoko would tell her the truth. It may make Kallen feel worse for awhile, but it would give her the closure she needed, and she would understand why people shouldn't be told.
At any rate, I'm pretty sure she'll learn the truth in the end anyway, so the point is really moot. :p

One could also put forth that returning alive to make C.C. smile does not constitute love or romantic love. His returning alive and her smiling truthfully because of it may well be what this scene hints at, nothing more, or maybe it hints at a lot more. You never know.

If they fail to end the season without even an understanding between Kallen and Lulu I will be headed towards the CluClu Federation. At least she gets Lelouch. Or maybe I'll just join Orga in his anti-pairing club. Cause I still think Lulu is going to likely end up dead or alone.
Hell, I want a good end for Lulu somehow. That's what I care about most. At this point I don't even care if it's with Kallen, C.C. or bloody Suzaku.

No. Not much else to say. You must understand that I am still of the impression that this is a wartime romance motif between Lelouch and Kallen. Nothing has been shown to blatantly say (without fan's twisting words or meanings) that Lelouch loves anyone. He had a nice moment with C.C.. That's nice. He had a really nice moment(s) with Shirley, does that mean that Lelouch ending with C.C. will be odd?

For me, I think that she does love him, but as she founds out during her lifetime, it hurts to love someone and then see them die and her living on. Thus she wants to stop it. And I think her promise would be either
- She would finally die
- Her geass is taken from her
- All of the above
Her saying that "You won Kallen" kinda points to Kallen's ideal. The next line shows this when Kallen said she does not really care, and C.C. was surprised that she still was thinking about winning or losing. Meaning that C.C. lost because she wanted to win, but Kallen won because she does not care about that, she just wanted to stop Lelouch.
We still need to wait until the next episode for this to clear up, but I don't really see either female lead can have Lelouch in the end, not when he's so intent of fucking up his life

A confession would be extremely weird now, since he's just come the closest to C.C. on that subject (not directly, yet there is a very obvious implication), but he can still show he cares about her...not quite romantically, but whatever else applies (ie: the next best thing). A sad but happy KxL moment could come out of it, mostly on her side...but hey, he also cared for her on some level.

I apologize if I misunderstand you but if you are saying the CluClu scene is proof that Lelouch will end up with CC indefinitely then you are incorrect. The Cluclu scene in 24 is proof that Leloich cares deeply about CC. In fact there have been plenty of scenes that have shown this. However there have been plenty of scenes to show that he also cares deeply about Kallen.
However there has not been one scene that proves that Lelouch loves one girl romantically over the other.

The Cluclu scene in 24 is proof that Leloich cares deeply about CC. In fact there have been plenty of scenes that have shown this. However there have been plenty of scenes to show that he also cares deeply about Kallen.
However there has not been one scene that proves that Lelouch loves one girl romantically over the other.

No. Not much else to say. You must understand that I am still of the impression that this is a wartime romance motif between Lelouch and Kallen. Nothing has been shown to blatantly say (without fan's twisting words or meanings) that Lelouch loves anyone. He had a nice moment with C.C.. That's nice. He had a really nice moment(s) with Shirley, does that mean that Lelouch ending with C.C. will be odd?
Embrace her, you say? Now that would have been a rather odd... event. Why didn't it happen last episode? What changed in the course of maybe 1 hour of CG-verse time?

Her saying that "You won Kallen" kinda points to Kallen's ideal. The next line shows this when Kallen said she does not really care, and C.C. was surprised that she still was thinking about winning or losing. Meaning that C.C. lost because she wanted to win, but Kallen won because she does not care about that, she just wanted to stop Lelouch.

I think we're fine, final stretch, things seem to be in a good enough position at the moment, some things can change but I don't find that likely anymore with so little left, Zero Requiem having yet to really be revealed, etc. etc. And Lelouch's goodbyes to everyone and how he's set the stage of everyone against him. Kallen may or may not get her closure, I don't know, but Lelouch is heading in a direction she can't follow anymore I feel.

Meh, can't forget that Lelouch is a person who overcomes fates or dictations at the same time. I think things are in a fairly stable position, now all that's left is for the actors to play out their rolls ;)

But as we saw during Xing Ke's rescue (10 minutes? 10 FU***ING MINUTES?) scene, they already regards Lelouch as a tyrant.
Him bidding Sayoko goodbye along with Cecile and Llyod shows that he does not really thinking of coming back
The Nina scene was done quite well. She does not forgive Lelouch for killing Euphy, and yet, she still helps him because she still believe in Euphie's ideal. Her love is stronger than her hatred. Kinda makes me want to pity her a bit.

Meh, I've given up condemning just about anyone in this series, I pity them more then anything now, and in the end Lelouch was the one to stand victorious, that's all there is too it <_<

Personally, I always thought that sounded like a prophesy that is meant to be broken. At this point, I could see him going off somewhere with C.C., after giving Kallen some closure about his feelings for her. She loves him, she deserves at least that much. The animedia conversation, the gum line, her character, all of them give me hope that she'll at least realize that she wasn't his pawn and that she was precious to him.
Still, there's another part of me that thinks that C.C. realizes that Lelouch loves Kallen more. (The "You win." just sounded to me like it had a double meaning. She even once told her that he wouldn't involve the one he finds most precious in his plans. Unfortunately, even if that's the case, I'm pretty sure that Lelouch will go somewhere where Kallen cannot follow, hence her character song.
At this point, I just want Kallen to know that, on some level, Lelouch loved her (even if it isn't romantically) and he protected her from the 'Demon's Path' so that she could live in a peaceful world with her mother. Hopefully, she (and the others from the Student Council) can light fireworks at Ashford together. Then maybe, she'll become Nunally's KoO.
Not the happiest ending, but it's satisfactory.

Always good to see some neutrality around these parts, so both of you are a welcome sight to sore eyes.
All that said, there is a limit to neutrality at this stage of the game, since CG's focus (like many mecha shows before it) was never really romance, and as such it isn't nearly as complicated nor as clouded as a show whose focus lies within it (ex. Macross F). As such, it should be rather easy to deduce with reasonable accuracy the ending pairings from what has transpired in the show, and this being the second last episode, it should be all but decided as to how it will play out.
Do note while I AM a shipper, I neither ship CluClu or Kalulu. I myself revel in MillyXLulu, as IMO her light-heartedness makes a perfect complement to his darker (if 'emo') self, but that's neither here or there.
This is because in the end, it all comes down to one thing... who loves who? That is all that matters... nothing more, and nothing less in terms of romance. And from that, there is no question at all that Kallen loves Lulu, and CC also loves Lulu. But the question is, who does Lulu love?
If you've watched season 1, then the answer to that question is Euphemia, who above all the other people is the only one to have ever convinced Lulu out of his 'plan'. If not for the 'accident' (which was such a convenient plot device, but I digress >_>), R2 would've been a whole different story, as I have little doubt that Lulu went to meet her with full intentions of following what she has proposed to do.
And if not her, then it would be Shirley who Lulu has wanted out of the conflict for her own good as much as possible, and who he has shown most 'protectiveness' out of any other girl, apart from Nunally and Euphie of course. After all, ever since she has discovered his identity, it would've been FAR easier to kill her than wiping her memory out with geass, as dead (wo)men tell no tales. She was the biggest threat to his plans at that stage of the game because his identity's secret was of the utmost importance, but he decided to risk it all by just geassing her memories away.
Only problem is? Both of these girls are dead. But how are they significant? They are the only people who at the very least made Lulu 'alter' his plan, apart from maybe Nunally if she ever found out earlier.
But now, not even Nunally can convince her brother to change his mind. And if not Nunally, then no one can. And considering that if a character on the opposition is supposed to be his LI, at the very least she SHOULD be able to make Lulu second guess his actions due to the supposed feelings he harbours for that girl. And because there's no one who can do this, from this we can eliminate all the characters who is against him.
And from this, there really are only two characters who is 'with him'... Suzaku, and CC. I'm not going into Suzaku, as Yaoi isn't my cup of tea, but after certain moments in 23 and 24, it doesn't matter: CC wins hands down against Suzaku. Allowing CC to support him in 23 after the revelation of Nunally's survival is a huge boon for the pairing, as it can be directly compared to Kallen's failure to do the same earlier this season when it was revealed Nunally was to be the next governess. As for 24, his worrying for her is unnatural if it's only for her general wellbeing (aka worrying just for a friend), since she is immortal after all. As such, we can only conclude that he is indeed worried for her because he cares for her romantically, and the way some non-shippers mention Kallen's interruption as a 'cockblock' only serves to give further evidence to this notion. And what does Suzaku have in terms of Lulu caring for him? I might be blind since I am not a Yaoi fan, but I can say he doesn't have anything that compares to the above.
Really, there is no other logical ending pairing to be other than CluClu. I've felt that way pretty much in the end of S1 (where they begun to systematically kill off the only people who may turn Lulu back from the 'dark side), and was 'all in' for the pairing once the final obstacle has been cleared in S2 (Shirley's death). From there, it was only a matter of how it plays out, of which of course begs the question if whether either (or even both) will die.
So yeah, CC might die tragically the next episode or so. I'm not discounting that possiblity. But what I am fully confident of is that Lulu has the strongest feelings for her, and the only way another Lulu coupling is to win would be her untimely death, and only then that coupling would win by default.
And if Lulu dies (which is a big possiblity), then he would die still being in love with CC, thus rendering this the canon pairing.
In any case, it's pretty much a done deal, being this late in game. Of course I can be wrong, because then again CG has pulled more outrageous things out of its behind than this one. (What, a MillyXLulu ending out of nowhere with Milly as it's new empress? I can certainly hope, as being delusional has never been so much fun ;) )

I am neutral because for one thing I love both CluClu and Kalulu (romantic or otherwise) and because Code Geass is not a romantic series. As you say it is not Macross Frontier (and thank god for that..shipping wise that is).
I respect your viewpoint but I don't think it is so easy to deduce as you think. Personally I actually think romantically Lelouch will end up with neither but there will be a romantic/devoted moment between Lelouch and both girls. In my eyes Lelouch has clearly shown that he loves but he has not shown that he is "in love".
Of course I don't really care if I am wrong and he does end up indefinitely with Kallen or CC. I am perfectly fine with either because like I said I really enjoy Lelouch's relationship with both girls (platonically and romantically).
And while I don't personally ship Milly/Lelouch the idea is cute to me. :)

What's with the 'Bah,' man. I'm not saying my interpretation is right and yours is wrong. It's like you said, we wait and see. You're going to die of coronary if you get upset everytime someone disagrees with you...and trust me, it happens alot.
I don't want Kallen to stop Zero's Requiem either if it will make a peaceful world. I don't think Kallen would either (or Nunnally would for that matter) if she knows that. She would be pissed that Lelouch 'protected' her by keeping her out of the loop; hence the gum line, but I don't think she would stop it. I mean, let's see, Stop Plan = Crappy World vs. Let plan commence = Peaceful world. I don't see Kallen being that stupid if someone would just explain the freaking plan to her. (Honestly, I'm beginning to think that Kallen's 'essentialness' to the plot was so that Lelouch would have someone to explain the plan to for the benefit of the audience.)
At any rate, I wrote somewhere else that while Lelouch may be planning not to die, since the Emperor's VA is in the next episode's credits, it leads me to believe that there's a snag that forces Lelouch to go 'bye-bye' indefinately. Sad, but if Kallen gets some closure first, I would at least find the ending satisfying.

I will agree with the assessment that CG's focus is not on Romance. However, that being said, for certain characters, it is their character focus. The characters that have had the most growth and screen time in this particular sub-plot would be Kallen & Shirley. C.C. has, until these previous 2 episodes, been largely ignored. In addition, any attempt by fans of this show to say anything is predictable tends to be disproved, and rather jarringly-so.
Romance in Code Geass has been anything but simplistic or cut & dry. There have been many scenes in which Lelouch has been shown to care as another member has pointed out, but almost none were in an overtly romantic sense. We may be able to go back after we know who wins, and say which scenes were romantic and why, but until we know who wins, it is merely speculation.
Your analysis also leaves out how the Kallen/Lelouch situation is currently unresolved, and its resolution will now fall on the final episode of the show. This implies (implications of course can be wrong) that this resolution may very well tie into the resolution of the series, and may share the importance. This should not simply be discounted as "wishful thinking", simply because there are several Cluclu shippers that see this, and find it worrisome.
In any case, this still amounts to speculation, which is the foundation of any ship, regardless of its pairing.

I hate to break this to you, but given the director and writer's track records, I think you're in for a disappointment. :rolleyes:
We'll see how romance pans out next week. Doesn't really seem like C.C. can die at the moment, Lelouch is unlikely given Taniguchi's interests, and Kallen's character type basically never dies in this genre. I dunno about Suzaku and Gino though, it's possible.

But Guilford already "received" Lelouch's geass, with a long-term order implanted in brain. If Lelouch touches his collar, sunglasses won't prevent him from seeing that and viewing him as Cornelia again.
The walking stick beside the bed seems to be Cornelia's. Imagine this:

Do note while I AM a shipper, I neither ship CluClu or Kalulu. I myself revel in MillyXLulu, as IMO her light-heartedness makes a perfect complement to his darker (if 'emo') self, but that's neither here or there.
In any case, it's pretty much a done deal, being this late in game. Of course I can be wrong, because then again CG has pulled more outrageous things out of its behind than this one. (What, a MillyXLulu ending out of nowhere with Milly as it's new empress? I can certainly hope, as being delusional has never been so much fun ;) )

As for Nunnally, I think she wants to have a little sin on her conscious because she doesn't want Lelouch to carry the burden all alone. She knows that Lelouch was Zero the whole time. They will either have to resolve their differences or die together because Nunnally is not going to allow Lelouch to die a meaningless death with his Zero Requiem. She has finally been reunited with her brother. Nunnally is the only real family that Lelouch has left.

Meh, Guilford a number of ways, not the least of which being Claudio who is also present. As for Cornelia, it seems Schneizel did have some decency and sent her there, only logical rational you can make, especially as how she laments on how he spared her and how he would have made a good king in a better era, all that jazz >_>

I think that Milly sees Rivalz as a brother type relationship. But I could be wrong. However, some could say that Milly is like a sister/cousin to Lelouch. Although, I don't believe that Lelouch would ever consider Milly as a sister. That was reserve for Nunnally and Euphemia, who he was very close to, as far as siblings go.
Lelouch might have place Milly is the same category as Shirley, C.C., and Kallen, who are his closest friends. With the exception of C.C., he wants to keep Kallen and Milly away from him because he doesn't want them to die as Shirley. He doesn't not want to see anymore of his friends die in front of him. Too bad Kallen thinks that Lelouch had gone rogue. I think that Kaguya, Sayoko, and Milly understands what he is trying to do, as well as C.C., his partner in crime.
Nunnally probably understands Lelouch's plan as well. Which is why she must stop him because she has the power to do so. If not, Lelouch will certainly die by Kallen's bare hands. I don't think he would last long if Kallen kicks his ass, like she did to Suzaku. Lelouch had better pray that Suzaku can hold Kallen off because she has become his worst nightmare.
By the way, does anyone believe that Cannon is a female dressed up like a male? I read somewhere that Cannon is a cross dresser. He looks way too feminine to be a male. But that's not my area of interest.

If she still wants Lelouch, after all he has put her through to protect her, then a Kallen x Lelouch relationship will be valid. She is certainly a PitBull who never lets go of anything once she bits into it. The more she got to know Lelouch, the more she's got to have him for herself. One reason is because Lelouch reminds Kallen of her brother. She feels that if her brother had lived, he and Lelouch would have been fast friends.

This is another reason why Lelouch doesn't want Kallen involved in his plans because he wants the world to forget about Euphemia: The massacre Princess. So by being the villain that the world would hate will simply replace her as one of the most hated and feared people of all time. More so than Charles could ever imagine. At least that is what he wants to acheive. But I think that Nunnally will attempt to talk him out of it by reminding him of what Euphemia would want. Having the world against him will not bring his beloved sister from the grave. Euphemia would never forgive Lelouch for what he wants to do. She would want her brother to move on with his life. He killed her. Euphemia's spirit is probably grateful because she would have killed herself if she had known what she did under Lelouch unintended geass command.
Euphemia would be even more disturbed by Lelouch's current actions than with Nina's bomb. If she were alive, Euphemia would be very upset at Lelouch. He is not honoring her memory. He wants to world to destroy him and Britannia together. Lelouch forgets that his will be hurting Kallen, Kaguya, and Milly the most if he dies an ungrateful death.

Nunnally is the only person who could stop Lelouch from destroying himself. She is all that he has left, as far as a caring sibling is concerned. If Kallen defeats Suzaku, nothing on Earth will stop Kallen from taking Lelouch's life because she is practically the female version of Wolverine.:cool:

Either way, Code Geass is the only anime that has held my interest since the first Macross series with Rick Hunter, Lisa Haynes, and Linn Minmay. Although it was obvious that Minmay and Rick were is two different worlds that would never intersect because he was a fighter pilot while she was a pop idol. You could say that Lelouch is a world leader while Milly is just a news reporter, who could never get close to Lelouch because he destroyed the Nobility System. So their paths will never cross each other again, since he is likely to end up with no one at all. The path of Death Note might be in store for him.
If Lelouch and Suzaku both die, they will join Shirley and Euphemia in the afterlife. Thus Shirley x Lelouch and Euphemia x Suzaku might just be the end result.:)

Well, Emperor Charles hated the world for what it is. He and Marianne conceived a child who ends up destroying Britannia and creating a new world where everyone will not kill each other for material things. Lelouch is like his father. Perhaps this is what he was meant to do, as with Jesus Christ, who was hated by the Romans and Israelites. They killed him. But his death became a legacy that has been kept alive long after the Roman Empire fell to the Germanic tribes in 470 A.D.
It changed the Roman Empire from the inside and outside. One man started that chain of destruction upon an Empire. :D
I do wish that Code Geass would get another season because there is so much to this series than what is being shown right now.

Suzaku, I doubt he has feelings for Cecile. IMO, if anything, it would be Llyod X Cecile. If anyone can handle Llyod, it's Cecile.

It was mentioned that she "IS" in love with Lelouch. That hasn't changed. In addition, I think that in one of the Picture/Sound Drama, Milly is a very shy person when it comes to confessing her feelings. It also mentions that she has rejected over 51 protential suitors, including Lloyd, because she already has the ideal mate in mind. It could be Rivalz or Lelouch.
If Milly was like an older sister to Lelouch, why would the writers even bother to mention that she is secretly in love with him? Older sisters, in my opinion, do not have romantic fantasies about falling in love with a person who is like a brother to them. In the rare moments that Lelouch and Milly are together, Lelouch has never viewed Milly like a sister. To him, Lelouch sees Milly as a lady who loves to boss him around. Milly loves a man who is mysterious and quiet. This is the reason why she likes Lelouch.
But as you said, it's likely that he'll stick with Kallen, as it would be very difficult to justify a Lelouch x Milly relationship at this point. But, from a personal perspective, I never saw a reason why Kallen and Lelouch should be together on a romantic level. Their personalities don't compliment each other. But I am sure the writers will figure it out. I only wished that they never brought up the notion that Milly was secretly in love with Lelouch because I had the impression that something special might happen between them in the near future, which hasn't happened.
Too bad we'll never see the outcome to that possible relationship because it would have been one of the best romantic pairings of the relationship shippers between the CG characters. There is so little fanservice for Milly Ashford. A Milly x Lelouch moment would unleash a flood of fanservice, that is clearly lacking for her character.

You know, it occurs to me that both Lelouch and Kallen have been doing the same thing for the past few episodes. Both are pushing aside their own feelings for the greater good. Lelouch is pushing away everyone he loves to (apparently) be villified by the world in order to make it peaceful. Kallen is forcing herself to fight Lelouch and C.C. even though she loves them in order to prevent them from (apparently) taking over the world (their like Pinky and the Brain).

But Lelouch has gone on the Demon path, which will probably lead to his intended demise because his Zero identity was exposed. He helped to create UFN so that they could defeat Britannia. Once he became Emperor, his intention was to destroy Britannia from the inside out by exposing the entire Britannian army to its demise, so that it would no longer be a military threat to the world. He needed everyone to hate him so that the memory of Euphemia is forgotten.
As for Milly, her feelings might have changed for Lelouch. But it's more like her love for him has only grown stronger. Although she hides it very well. He did made a promise to her that he'll return to Ashford Academy for the fireworks. He just wants to be sure that Britannia is no longer a menance to anyone.
Nunally's involvement will only force him on a compromise on his Zero Requiem. To me, on an emotional level, Lelouch's mind is still that of an angery 10 year old child. He just carrying out his childhood desire because of the way Charles treated him after the murder of his mother. Even though Charles acted in that cold manner to protect his child, I doubt that he realized that it would damage Lelouch because he felt unloved by his own father. This is a repeat of what Charles experience in his own childhood when everyone of his family members were killing themselves. And like Lelouch, Charles mother paid the price. Lelouch is just like Charles than he realize. Although Lelouch never had any interests with becoming Emperor at all.
I must disagree with the notion that Milly never had a clue about what Lelouch was up to. She knows exactly what he is trying to do because a positive outcome will come out of it. In addition, when Rivalz told her that Nina was captured, she didn't appear to be concerned at all because she knew that Nina would be safe under Lelouch's care. She knows that Lelouch needed her to acomplish his goals.
Unlike Kallen, Milly understands what Lelouch wants to do. For example, Kallen was angery that her mother decided to stay with her father as a maid because she assumed that her mother wanted to be in the big house instead of her. Was she ever wrong when she learned the truth.
As I have said, I could be wrong because the writers might just as well pair Rivalz up with Milly to throw everyone off as they have done so far. Lelouch could end up with either C.C. or Kallen, if that's the writers intention, which might be the case. Or the alternative, eternal isolation from the world or death.

I don't think that Lelouch will turn Milly's feelings down if she ever confesses her love for him. Lelouch never felt uneasy around her, although he would be very surprised. When they were together, Milly x Lelouch acted like an old married couple who knew each other very well. It was a healthy physical tension that they had for each other. If Shirley was any indication, Lelouch will not turn Milly down at her advances towards him. However, if Kallen decides that she still wants Lelouch as her romantic partner, then there is nothing that Milly could do about it.
I only said that a Milly x Lelouch relationship is possible if Kallen either dies or decides to leave him. After all she has been through, I would be very surprised if she still wants a relationship with Lelouch. If that's the case, then they were meant for each other. But that's entirely the decision of the writers.
To be honest, there was never any real romantic interaction between either Kallen x Lelouch or Milly x Lelouch ever since the "World's End" saga began. This chapter had nothing to do with love at all. Only to resolve the issues that the writers wanted to talk about because they were told that the would be no 3rd season. So they had to tell their story as quickly as possible. Thus, there was no way that a Milly x Lelouch could have have started under those circumstances. Kallen was lock up, so that they could upgrade her Guran MKII. Lelouch needed to resolve his issues with his father. And he needed to get Nunnally back in his life again.
If Lelouch is dead to the world, he could live a normal life again. He could finish his studies at Ashford Academy and move on with his life.

I do believe Sayoko has some idea that her former master (Milly) does like Lelouch. Lie Vito said, Sayoko tease Milly that she is serious in getting Lelouch's hat during the school festival by "commanding" the Ashford students to catch Lelouch. Sure, Milly tries to hide her feeling over and over again and support LelouchxShirley, but Sayoko who had served her long enough sure knows how her feeling toawrd Lulu. :heh:
In fact, in ep12, my interpretation is that Rivalz starts to notice Milly's feeling toawrd Lelouch too. He briefly mentions about how he will do anything for Milly while searching for Lelouch with his bike. After all, only a person who truly love his partner can understand his partner true feeling. In the end, only Lelouch who probably has no idea whatsoever regarding Milly's feeling :heh:

To be perfectly honest though, Milly seems the most normal of the bunch and seems to have a bit more insight/knowledge on inter-personal relationships. PS: to darthfury: as coba said Sayoko knew Milly liked Lelouch, she commented that if the circumstances permitted it, she would give her lulu's hat (R2 ep 12).

The writers did say that Kallen was an important bond to Lelouch that was essential in the story. Although it was never mentioned that she would be his love interest. More like a person who want to make sure that he doesn't go on the deep end. Thus, both Kallen and C.C. want to make sure that Lelouch stays true to himself.
Once "World's End" had started, the focus was clearly centered around Kallen/Lelouch/C.C. development to that chapter. But it doesn't imply romance. Any sort of romance for Lelouch died with Shirley at that moment. If Milly was going to take that slot, the writers would probably keep that hidden until the end as her character would have no importance to Lelouch at that time, aside from being a reporter. This was Milly's only contribution to the story.
I would have liked it better if Lelouch was Zero. This way no one would have known who he was. I certainly would not mind Charles returning because he could reset time once again.
Time and again, like now, this thread becomes infested with posters who are over enthusiastic about Milly, a character who has less screen time than Tamaki, and the prospects of MillyLu, a couple which had and has less chance of happening than Villetta-Kewell... after Kewell died.

While deathfury's post might be well... the words that come to mind are not kind, at least his pairing has some basis in the overall storyline of the show. Personally I simply added some actual facts from the show since I was surprised that a Milly x Lelouch fan got some facts wrong.
As far as I'm concerned Milly's love part was concluded in episode 12 and I'll consider it a success if they don't pair her up with Rivalz.

I do believe Sayoko has some idea that her former master (Milly) does like Lelouch. Lie Vito said, Sayoko tease Milly that she is serious in getting Lelouch's hat during the school festival by "commanding" the Ashford students to catch Lelouch. Sure, Milly tries to hide her feeling over and over again and support LelouchxShirley, but Sayoko who had served her long enough sure knows how her feeling toawrd Lulu. :heh:
In fact, in ep12, my interpretation is that Rivalz starts to notice Milly's feeling toawrd Lelouch too. He briefly mentions about how he will do anything for Milly while searching for Lelouch with his bike. After all, only a person who truly love his partner can understand his partner true feeling. In the end, only Lelouch who probably has no idea whatsoever regarding Milly's feeling :heh:
I think that Lelouch wanted to avoid Milly because he had assumed that she was going to make him dress up like a girl for her private amusement before she marries Lloyd. Since Milly was engaged to Lloyd at the time, Lelouch didn't want to bother in Milly's personal life. Aside from that, Lelouch only saw Milly as his landlord. He knows who is the boss at Ashford Academy.

Not at this point. I think I've posted everything I've had to say about Romance in CG a while ago, and since then I've just been listening to what others have had to say. Good attention to the details there by the way.
I'd be disappointed if any of the nice gals in the show becomes a consolation prize for some other bloke besides the one they favored.

I agree with you. I am not sure what the writers are planning, but I find it hard to believe that there won't be a 3rd season of Code Geass because there is still a lot of unresolved issues that needs to be addressed.
A lot of people has said that Milly has given up on Lelouch to Shirley. If that was the case, Shirley would still alive. I don't think that her romantic interest for Lelouch has gone away. Her only regret was not following her heart sooner before Shirley got her hands on him. Milly was only aware of Shirley's interest for Lelouch. I don't believe that she was ever aware of Kallen's interest. And she certainly doesn't know about C.C. either.
One thing was certain, Milly wanted to make sure that Lelouch's backlog of dates that Sayoko had made to the 108 girls at Ashford Academy was put to a close before she left. Milly would rather see Lelouch and Shirley together than to see him as a Playboy to the other girls. If she couldn't have him, then Shirley might as well take good care for him because Milly knows that Shirley would beat the crap out of him if he ever dates other women behind her back.
I would find it it hard to believe that Lelouch would ever turn down Milly's affections toward him, if she ever gets to express them to him. She has both a killer body and a killer mind that would hold Lelouch's interests. However, Kallen has the same as well. But she might develop a liking for Gino because she knows that he wouldn't keep anything from her. He does like Japanese girls. But Kallen needs to resolves her feelings with Lelouch first before she considers Gino as a love interest.
Kallen has gotten a taste of Lelouch by kissing him. which is the forbidden romance. So her emotions are that of the scarlet spider, who kills her mate after she has made love to him. Or in her case, feeling rejected and betrayed by Lelouch. Therefore, Kallen is one very angery lady who is out for Lelouch's life.

Uh, the staff has been quite adamant that nothing of the sort was going to take place, this is the end of the line for Geass I'm afraid, plus we've run through all the villains in the series, what more do you want from them? :heh:

Eh what? How would her giving up Lelouch to Shirley equal to Shirley still being alive afterward? I mean, she certainly didn't do it after Shirley's funeral if that was what you were implying. I mean, take the hat festival where she tried to get it for Shirley and how she voiced her worries about the progress of those two. And then she moved on, got her job as a weather reporter, called off her marriage, I felt she left behind no regrets and was looking forward in her life. :)

Uhmm, sorry to say this but I have very little faith in that, because well, Lelouch is an idiot when it comes to love, as Shirley showed, and girls have been doing that to him since the beginning, including Kallen as episode 22 demonstrates. Once upon a time I think Milley did try to hint at her interest when she expressed her depression over another marriage interview, Lelouch on other hand was just lost for words and being well, generally the unaware and emotionally idiotic individual that he is :heh:

Don't even bother replying to him.... I mean seriously, Milly is a side character, whatever they had planned got scrapped or maybe they were just keeping the possibilites open. As a Milly fan I think we can be glad they didn't end her love interest with a shot in the gut and all I can do is hope they don't shove her together with Rivalz which just might be the case. And if you really want to hope for the grand prize... it should be an open ending where Lelouch ends up with no one.
P.S.: KrimzonStriker, as much as you'd like Kallen to die, other have the same wish for C.C. due to her past sins. Lets keep the character bashing in the respective threads, please :(
Darthfury, you're not winning any popularity points here.... not by bashing Kallen's character and even less by pairing her with Gino, which to me is even worse than pairing up Milly with Rivalz. Please have some respect for other characters and the plotline itself.
