Going to add the spoilers that I found so far and posted on the Chapter 81 thread to make them easier to find.

Please add more when you find them.

I took out the spoiler tags since people got annoyed last time, and this is the Chapter 82 thread where they shouldn't be necessary. If you don't want to read spoilers, fake or real, please don't read below.

Here is a spoiler from I believe 2CH with a really really rough translation from crappy "Google Translate". Maybe someone who can read Japanese can translate it more accurately.

Judging from the really bad Google translation, the spoiler seems to go like this (from what I can make out of it) in better English:

The setting first takes place at Organizational headquarters with the MiBs gathered. They are talking about Miata and Clarice, who went to kill Galatea. The spoiler does not say whether or not they are aware that the two and Galatea have joined the Ghosts.

The MiBs are also seriously talking about Rene's (Lune) disappearance, which is an obvious concern since she is their Eye.

The line: "Long punitive group for the continent was moving troops to return temporarily to bring it to" refers to the transfer of soldiers (Claymores?) to the main continent? And those soldiers have temporarily returned to the Claymore island?

That part isn't clear.

Scene shift to Riful and Duph torturing Rene (Lune). It seems that Rene is still resisting against Riful. Riful relaxes and says "longed to be a colleague, must be…" (ally?) and shows something to Rene. Rene feels fear and a touch of nostalgia deep within her heart upon seeing that object.

Scene shift to a place showing 3 silhouettes of Claymores. Orsay appears in front of them with a mission. The 3 Claymores turn out to be Sofia, Noel, and "Pissarro", the first ever Claymore.

Alright, this spoiler is dedicated to Enara, since we don't want her to get lost.

I'm really not sure what to make of that 2nd spoiler. The translation from Google Translate is crappy like usual. But, definitely better than nothing.

It says something about Rafaela and Luciela fused together? Google Translate says Siamese twins, but I don't think that is accurate since I doubt there will be any conjoined people in the manga.

Maybe more like fused in body and mind? Luciela inside Rafaela?

Hopefully someone who can read Japanese can decipher it better.

I really do not see where all this pessimism about the series comes before we even get real spoilers. All this jump the shark talk is pretty insane if you ask me, especially for someone who does not even enjoy Claymore that much in the first place :D. I know it happens every month but it still grates on me. Not to mention I am already pissed about the chinese not sharing the raws for all series.

The plot for Claymore is going somewhere, and the story will only get darker before we see the light.

Well, it's a matter of taste of course, but a fused raphaela/luciela would just introduce something grotesque, unneeded and breaking the good closure we had with the AO triumvirat, plus it wouldn't make much sense with Riful's comments on the current powers, and would fit badly with the ghost/org dynamics. In my humble opinion, anyway.

And I happen to think someone who is not a rabid fanboy is better able to judge than one whose judgement is clouded by passion, you're welcome :p

I'm curious though, with such disdain that you've shown towards the series, why keep posting here?

I've noticed that you never posted on any of the other forums on Animesuki when you obviously have tastes elsewhere. You only post on Claymore. I've lost interest in other series before, and I would just stop posting or looking through message boards, even though I would finish the series. I would just lose interest and don't even bother with forums.

I'm just wondering.

You are playing with fire here Flar. This forum exists only because people enjoy Claymore, and poking us with a stick is not going to help your point. Claiming validation for your theory because you do not like the series as much as others has nothing to do with anyones powers of observation being clouded. Your standpoint is one of disappointment before we even have legitimate information. An overly negative view of the world can be much more dangerous than an overly positive view of the world.

You don't see me going to other forums of series I do not enjoy as much and harassing people because they enjoy them. That would be incredibly bad taste. I have no reason to post in threads that do not interest me, nor vent my frustrations about those series to those who feel a deep kinship with those stories. Doing so would just make me look like a jerk and I have no reason to bring others down when they are in the middle of being excited about something.

The only reason I can think of doing that would be to get a reaction out of people by arguing with them about something we disagree with from the get go because they like something and I do not. The entire premise of posting there would be one of conflict because there would be no way we could ever agree about something where are viewpoints are so different from the get go. I agree with Tenken on this one. I used to be a zelous bleach forum goer at a different site (about a year ago before I saw Claymore) and the more I posted, the more I realized how little the story resonated with me, how repetitive the themes were, etc. I still read and enjoy bleach (quite a bit actually), but the closer I looked the less interested I got. Going to a forum did not do much to engage my enjoyment in that case so I stopped going and just read the manga/watched episodes. That forum was also full of needless bickering and flaming, which really bothered me as well. The community here is much nicer and I enjoy this series much more.

I'd appreciate if you refrained from telling me my comments had a different worth depending on what you think my opinion of the serie is. Just say I'm negative, putting the ox before the cart, and not open to the good things crazy twists like fused Claymores could bring, if you will.

I didn't say your opinion was less valid or worthless, I was pointing out that it is less appropriate in this location which is a basically a fanclub for Claymore. Obviously I have strong feelings about other series as well, but you do not see me going to their place of rejoicing and mocking them for enjoying it. Mocking someone for liking the series too much is pretty asinine, especially in the given location.

I was just wondering since it seemed that all your posts were of a negative slant towards Claymore. But, maybe that's just because you just like talking to chibamonster and your responses to each other are almost polar opposites.

I don't mind criticism, and I think some of it is relevant to Claymore. But, if someone constantly does it, and rarely says anything that they do like, I tend to wonder, "Why put yourself through this misery?"

It's like a former co-worker of mine who used to constantly complain about where he lived. Complain about the prices, the people, the pace, the traffic, the company where we worked, everything. I just told him, "Why do you stay here then? Just move. No one deserves to be miserable. You don't have anything tying you to here, just go find a place that you like, move, and be happier with your life."

At first I thought things were actually going badly in his different situations, but as I have listened to him over the years I realized that it does not actually matter how things are going, he will find a reason to complain and be miserable. One of his favorite things to complain about was discrimination. He sees it everywhere. Basically he can find it with anyone who was different than him in any way (not hard when you look) which really makes me laugh at the irony of pointing out "discrimination" in others. When I would ask for clarification of his stories I realized they were often fabrications and the way he imagined the world. Excuses so he could complain more. It is just ingrained into his personality. It is his personality. You can imagine the effect a friend like that has on a person.

The moments when the MiB are discussing about Clarice and Miata, and the torture of Renée sound quite pleasing to me. That "fusion" between Luciela and Rafaela doesn't. Luciela was supposed to be dead (with her back cracked) and I think Yagi showed it very clearly. Maybe the spoiler is a complete fake... or not. We'll have to wait and see.

Ah, but when I want to comment on something awesome, there are already about 4 billions post about it, so to not be redudant I am forced to become analytical about the smallest thing and play at contradicting argumentative, well spoken posters like chibamonster on points I feel should not be left without counterarguments.

True, there really are 4 billion posts about cool stuff that happens. You could make it 4 billion and one. :p

Plus, I really do think you just like arguing with chiba.

It's actually interesting to watch you and chiba go back and forth. Like the odd couple. Or Sofia and Noel arguing.

Now to get back on track, if instead of fused claymores you would see some politicking, the ghosts setting up HQ in Rabona, kicking tail here and there or even some slice of life pages showing the characters outside of training, fighting and making reports, that would totally rule, if I may say so. Some world expanding, boats, manoeuvring the current powers, non absolute evil opposition, conflict within the ghosts, I'll take it all.

You know as well as I that these spoilers so far have a high probability of being false. I also would like to see the stuff that you wrote, and I do think we will see it eventually. But unfortunately, this is a monthly manga, and who knows how long we have to wait until we get there.

Hello my friends Enara has come back from her quest of finding the holy chapter 82 and has decided to tell the tale

After just 30 minute into her quest to find the holy chapter 82 Enara met a Mib (Who wouldn't die even after she cut off his arms and legs)

next Enara met a frenchman who randomly taunted her by claiming that her favorite claymore was a hamster ( Odd little guy... Creepy) Enara was forced to retreat to a web site about Three headed AB's

it was there that Enara met the knights who say Ni. who wanted a shrubbery. Enara quickly googled Shrubbery and found Raki the Shrubber who gave her a Shrubbery after giving the Knights who now say Ekke Ekke Ekke Ekke Ptang Zoo Boing the Shrubbery they demanded that Enara get them another shrubbery, and arrange the two shrubberies so that they get a two-level effect ("...with a little path running down the middle") it was then that Enara bravely ran away

Enara then went to rune scape but was almost killed but a Killer Rabbit Enara logged off before killed however

Enara's final task was to cross the Bridge of Death, which was guarded by the man with the Mohawk. After pushing the man with the mohawk off the bridge of death she met the again Frenchman. Enara Still feeling mad the he had call Riful a Hamster began to Fight the frenchman when a group of policemen (from the 1970s) interrupted the climactic battle scene to arrest Enara for the murder of the "famous historian" AKA the man with the mohawk

You saw... The Dark Knight... WAIT WAIT... :D I am guessing the movie you saw had the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch in it. When I was in Elementary school I actually memorized most of the Holy Grail. Even now I can just press play and watch it in my mind, which has been very helpful when I have been stuck dealing with people/reality that I have no interest in. Same with a few other movies I saw when I was a kid, like Indiana Jones or star wars...

Ok, I started looking at the second fake spoiler, thinking it was more probable, and started to go through it, translating it.

To my dismay, it seems to be compete rubbish, so I stopped half way through.

Rune, who is captured by Riful, is being hung up, and has lost both legs at around knee level. She is told that if she cooperates, that she will be released.

This she prepared for "the ones she gathered 7 years ago", Raphaela's and Luciella's fused body...(and this is where I stopped).

(it concluded by Miria telling clare that she ought to go West so deal with her unfinished matter before the fighting starts)

So this spoiler is obviously bunk, by someone who saw the inside cover art of volume 14, and had forgotten most of the rest of Claymore. Afterall, Riful told Clare she found somehting interesting long before Raphaela ever met Luciella.

So I wasted enough time on this 'spoiler'. Honestly... why do they bother? At least our fake spoilers are marked as such - and sadly even the most absurd ones seem just as likely as this one.

Some things i've picked up off the chinese forums.

I'll admit my chinese isn't the best but I can pick up the basics,from what I can tell there talking about a new enermy from the organisation I got a bit hazy here I think they said a weapon that predates the claymores but could mean after claymores.

The next one was something about Clarice and Miata been watched the rset are pretty bog standed from what I can tell.

Just want to make my own post (even if it seems slightly late, considering how quickly this swept through) that I feel the comments about "wondering why people post here" if they don't like the series so much really seem out of line. This is a forum for discussion, not a moral support group. Different opinions help foster more and better discussion, and perhaps even the ability to change your perspective on the story.

Also, I have never once thought that Flar posted in a way that indicated that he didn't like the series. He posts in a manner to critique the series, and I greatly appreciate someone who can take that point of view. One of the things that frustrates me the most about forum posting in major discussions is when people will not look critically at what I have said and point out what they don't agree with. Disagreement is one of the most important elements of a good discussion (as long as it doesn't devolve into flamewars) because it means people are actually thinking. Just don't use that disagreement as an excuse to bludgeon those who don't share your opinion.

Kinematics, I never made that comment about "wondering why people post here" because I didn't want to hear his thoughts. I actually agree with some of his comments, and thought that some stuff he wrote had a lot of substance.

I was seriously curious about what kept bringing him back since I thought he truly didn't like the series from his comments about the series itself. I didn't mean it in any other way.

I want more posters posting and debating. It gets pretty boring fast when everyone is just in agreement with each other.

The difference when you post Kinematics is that you give reasoning behind your theories that are supported by the story, with evidences of how you got there. Even if I do not agree with them I see your thought process and how you arrived there. An argument of perceptions separated from the source material will often degrade into a battle of oppinions separated from the story entirely. This is what happened in the wall of post wars in the days of yore; they started out with a disagreement about the story, but moved off to something completely, like a vague morality debate based off of hypothetical situations, unrelated and independent of anything that happened in the story.

I love discovering new things about the series, especially from something that is based on so much observation for understanding characters and relationships. I like sharing the things I discover. It is one of my favorite parts of the forum. I really am with Tenken on this one as Flar's posting style had me wondering what he even liked about the series. As I asked Flar questions, he mentioned that he often does not post about the parts he does like because that would be "redundant" and his unique way of approaching the forum is to give counter arguments to what has been posted. So this posting style absolutely gives the impression that he sees only things he dislikes because that is mostly what he posts.

I wanted to understand why he posts in the way he does because it made so little sense to me, and I got my answer. I was very interested in knowing how Flar got to his conclusions, and as he answered my questions I realized his primary concern was counter-posting to show uniqueness, which is something that is fairly foreign to me because my primary concern with this forum is observing and interpreting the story, not the posts of the forum members.

I propose we start a new award.
The first person in each new chapter thread to use the words "jump the shark" will win. It's happened the last 3 or 4 chapters in a row (and this time even before we even know anything about the chapter), no reason to believe it wont continue to happen.
As a prize, I am considering a hug post ("you look like you need a hug" or something to that effect) from each forum member that supports this new award. Any thoughts/objections?

Back in the days when I was overly-hyper active in the Claymore forum, I couldn't stand the 1 month release cycle. Now, I actually feel it comes by very fast :p

So it's that time of the month again! phew, I hope we have something good.

The first spoiler is really interesting if some of the Claymores from the outer world returned back to the Claymore world. That could add more twists to the story.

I still stand by my position about claymore fusions and I mean DBZ like fusions regardless of it being permanent or not. It's just out of the blue. Yeah, Clare inherited Irene's arm and it did manifest differently than her original arm when she awakened them but still, it's Clare's now. Teresa is another story. She is the engine behind Clare's powers so Clare = Teresa not a fusion of both in the sense of two powers fusing to be one (e.g. Luciella + Rafaela). Am I making sense? I feel I am not. :D

As for claymores coming from the outer world I still like my idea that there's a whole other island of claymores and #1 from the other island comes to kill the fab. 7

It might be possible that the very long awaited reunion between Clare and Raki may finally happen in Chapter 83 or 84.

I've said before that right now is way past the halfway mark if there really is going to be around 25 Volumes in total.

Right now is when the story should be starting to head towards the Climax. And it seems like that is the case right now. This is kind of like the "calm before the storm" right now, before the "Claymore Wars" start.

And I think the Ghosts will need Clare for the upcoming battles.

@Jonova: Yup. It's the same guy, though I have not read Blame yet. It is in my stack of to read thingies. I really like his style and how much he communicates visually, even if the stories are trippy and weird. I mean look how much ACTION they have :love: well that and zombies, or monsters and... it is very different to say the least. And the heroes in the two stories I have read so far are basically walking doomsday devices. They are like an entire war contained in the shape of a human. His scale of destruction boggles the mind.

Holy cow Renee gets messed up in this chapter. Like wow. Graphic Content. I can't believe this is shonen... Serious dismemberment and implement warning... With this and Agatha I am amazed Yagi is not publishing along with Seinen content... Riful has a very nice chair...

Ok I finished the new chapter after installing the crappy adware reader came along with it, all I can say now is wow xD.
And I really feel bad for Reene and Rafaela/Luciela sisters now.

Brief chapter summary:

The chapter starts with what we saw, Reene being captured by Riful, left arm gone, both leg chopped off below knees.
Riful tells Reene if she helps her, she will let Reene go once the task is finished and since Reene is defensive so she can regain her lost legs/arms.
Then Duph pulls something up which made Reene go >:O.

Scene change to Galatea and the priest talking(Vincent is his name I think?)
Vincent asks Galatea to go back to the Church since all the kids are missing her, when Miata runs into the hallway both wet and naked:D:naughty::naughty:.
Clarice appears (barely warpped in bath towels) and asks Miata to go back to shower.
Miata says she hates water but later was convinced by Father Vincent to go back with Clarice.

Then Galatea and Vincent talks some more and the Scene changed to Clare.
Clare was standing on top of some roof staring away when Miria appeared.
Miria tells Clare if she worries about Raki so much then go look for him in the west.
She also asked everyone to fullfill whatever wish they had before the upcoming big fight vs the org, even if they all decide to live their own life and not come back to fight org it is fine and she will just take on the org alone.
Then Helen decided to visit her hometown once more and drags Deneve along. Cynthia, Tabitha and Yuma decided to stay with Miria and wait.
Miria then sends Cynthia and Yuma with Clare for safety measures, Clare protests but was ignored.

Scene changed back to Riful and Reene, the thing Duph pulled out was indeed Rafaela/Luciela sisters in the kneeling/hugging pose last time we saw them, only difference is part of their face and most of their bodies now merge together.
Riful tells Reene no matter what they do physicly to the now twin sisters, they have shown no reactions at all. That's why she wanted someone with good yoki manipulation to try and see if they can make them to awake.
Reene asks what if the new Awakened being is more powerful than Riful herself, Riful smiles and said :"Then I will just have to kill it before it fully awakes."
End of Chapter.

It was Riful who merged Rafaela + Luciela's bodies, but it might be possible that Rafaela used the soul link to lock their souls/conciousness away from Riful, to Riful's disappointment.

Edit: from Jonovo's post below, it seems that Rafaela may have used the soul-link to preserve Luciela's soul before she killed Luciela's body.

That's why Riful needs Renee to give them a yoki type of shock-treatment, to jolt them out of their coma.

So Helen and Deneve go to Helen's hometown. Sounds fun.

And with Yuma and Cynthia going with Clare to look for Raki, the Ghosts really do split into 3 groups.

Clare + Cynthia + Yuma -> search for Raki

Helen + Deneve -> Helen's hometown

Miria + Tabitha + Galatea + Clarice + Miata -> stay in Rabona and wait

I am not sure what she means by that, and the translation could be well off, but that's what she said.

Yeah, I don't think any of us saw this coming... I figured Raphaela was still around somewhere... now we know where. Interesting that Luciella still has colored hair as well in comparison to Raphaela. I am really curious what exactly Raphaela did as this was not the pose we last saw them in (Luciella's hand was in the water and no longer holding Raphaela). If it has something to do with the soul link (where more than spirits their bodies merge) then I am thinking we will see even more of this theme developed in Clare/Teresa. Well, Yagi has shown again that he likes to tie in plot points that we have seen before and develop them in new and surprising ways. Lucky Riful found 2 Abyssal level Claymores like statues waiting for her in the woods. I really don't know what to think of this. I need processing time. And raws or translations.

Cyclone certainly was right to think there was something more to the hug than a mercy killing. I am not sure if any of us expected this, as I certainly didn't. My conclusion from the previous argument was that I did not think Raphaela spared her sister (I was wrong) but if she did she used an entirely new technique that we have never seen before (bingo). Though I really did not see this coming...

I am going to have to rethink how deeply Yagi uses patterns from the past to continue on into the future in my predictions. I mean he really really uses themes that we have already seen and develops them into something surprising and new. I expected to see something new with the soul link in Riful's plan, but not this... Also I see some reasoning behind why he gave Raphaela such a nice flashback. It makes me wonder what Clarice is going to do in the story now as she has so much time to develop as a character. She is going to be incredibly important now that I think about it.

I don't think I have ever wanted to see the next chapter so quick. There is no way these sisters are going to remain in this state for long. Something is about to happen with them. Things could get very bad very quickly.

And I think we have a pretty good idea what a claymore's torso looks like now. I used to think Yagi was going to leave it up to the imagination, but youki makes flesh look a certain way and I think we are getting a first hand look at it. Raphaela still seems to be a claymore (scar & hair) and Luciella still has color to her hair so she might still be an AO... I dunno... need processing time...

Remember how she measured lune. It was by the factor lune could sense her.
The only explaination i have for that is that riful needs help to awaken the sisters and they both will trie it together.

If Rubel had found the sisters before Riful I get the feeling that they would be a coffee table or a coat rack in his stylish city flat... And does anyone else think Duff has packed on some weight in the last 7 years? A little bit of pudge even? It must be the married life. Riful looks older too :D though she'd still probably need a parents note to skip class.

I am still skeptical as to Raphaela having brought her sister back as they certainly do not seem to be normal by any means. 7 years is a long time for a technique to take hold. I get the impression that Raphaela intended them to stay this way permanently (though I need processing time for this). It seems like Raphaela sealed her sister away at the risk of her life, like Ur did to Deliora in Fairy tail. Or like the 4th Hokoge did to the Kyuubi in Naruto. Or like the most recent revelation in D. Grey Man. Now we need to figure out what is going to happen with these two.

If they send alicia and beth it could end in a disaster because they are unprotected then. This would be quite risky. But perhaps you're right and they would take action. I think in their "dormant" state, Luciela and Rafaela probably do not emit a yoki-aura. They don't react to any stimulus.

And, as Renee has stated, they are no longer Luciela and Rafaela, but a new monster/AB, possibly a single entity.

I don't know what we should call them now.

I think Raciela will indeed more powerful than Riful, when Riful realize it and tries to destory her, Renee will probably scarfice herself to ensure the rebirth of Raciela.
Then Raciela will be reborn as something powerful, something not pure AB nor Claymore but something more than both XD.

I mean I don't really see Renee doing Riful's betting even under this circumstance, we haven't seen a single Claymore with out some sort of dignity and I doubt Renee will be the first one.

As for why Riful needs someone else to do this, well.. she did say if they were too strong she'd have to kill them before they fully awakened. If she was doing the manipulation herself (assuming she could), it would probably put her in a pretty vulnerable position, and she may not think she'd be able to take action to kill them in time if needed.

I had the impression too, that Miata is comming out of her shell, and as you say becoming more "normal". I think the author showed us Miata naked as a way to say that she has returned to a state of "innocence" that the MiB took away from her. I wouldn't be surpriced if we saw Miata in future chapters playing with the childs of Rabona near a "watchful" sister Galatea.

I'll like to think that Raphaela somehow figured out that a sufficiently "high-leveled" Claymore (such as herself) can do this sort of thing. It fits my speculation that she lived only to put her sister out of her misery, and that she'll "kill" herself after that.

Riful seems to be becoming the old Luciella, in terms of her overconfidence. I expect things to blow up. You don't wake a pair of sisters from their death slumber and get away with it.

And whats with this fusion? It`s easier to say that Rafaela got unstable during the killing of her twin sister because she used too much Yoki. "Clare getting pissing comes to mind" It´s all about the feelings. I mean, why so serious?
It´s a freack accident and probably the main reason for Claymores possessing such strange forms of awakening. I´ve seen insect looking, animal looking and some not so decent....DNA merging is good.
I am pretty sure that Clarice and Miata are there, mostly, for fanservice and some lesbian innuendo. Trust me, it will come...and it will probaly involve Helen too, and an apple pie :eyebrow:

*WOOOHOOOO!!!*:DI've been saying that Luciella is alive since about November last year, and you all thought I was mad! mad! HA!

Admittedly though, while I expected side effects and complications to the death hug, I had figured that Raphaela at least would remain concious and able bodied. Thus I didn't expect Riful to capture them either. But alas, close enough :DCONGRATULATIONS CYCLONE!!!

I still think if Raphaela pulled her sister back it would have to be an entirely new technique.
When a Claymore returns from half awakening or a full awakening; they return to claymore form instantaneously (or at least in between the panels of the manga so it seems instantaneous:)). Jean returned to a claymore form (not human form) as soon as Clare pulled her back. Clare did the same when she changed from blade arm metal deer hoof partially awakened. Alicia and Beth, who successfully completed the soul link, also go back to claymore form. Claymores have silver hair and silver eyes. Only awakened beings look like their original human forms (when they choose to) with normal hair color and normal eyes. When Luciella hits the water her hair was still normal colored, and her eyes were not silver (kind of hard to see but it will pop out if you compare it to claymores eyes.) So she had not yet returned from awakening to her claymore form; she was either an unconscious abyssal or a dead abyssal, but she was still abyssal at that point. Raphaela's hug did not bring Luciella back.

And it's true, Raphaela could have figured out a technique to take her unconscious youki depleted sister and return her to her claymore form. But when did she figure out how to do this? Raphaela has not released youki once since the soul link failed. Not once. For having failed a soul link before does it seem likely that she could conceive and implement a brand new pinicle-of-all-youki-manipulation technique without ever practicing it?

There are more reasons, but the hair color is the most solid I could think of (who'd have thought I'd dive into a hair conversation especially after all those posts about Clare's hair from the extra chapter...) If Luciella returned it happened after the hug, not during or because of it. So if she does come back, we will need a lot more story on it and some flashbacks because it happened elsewhere.

It would be very dangerous for Raphaela to just restrain her sister because AB's regenerate even if they are offensive (as Ophelia warned). I am guessing that Raphaela has been waiting a very long time to find Luciella this weak because even she couldn't take on her sister at full strength or she would have done it long ago (sneak attack!). So whatever Raphaela did, she did it quickly because Lucialla would not be weak for long.
@Cyclone: Was I close enough to do a dance? :D Probably not. I was right about a bunch of pieces here and there (Raphaela did use a new technique we have never seen before, Luciella's hair is still colored, Raphaela must have done her technique quickly, the hug had not brought her sister back by itself, etc.) but in reality my own basic belief was that Raphaela killed her sister and then continued on living even if in my posts were not really off. I was right about a bunch of pieces here and there (Raphaela did use a new technique we have never seen before, Luciella's hair is still colored, Raphaela must have done her technique quickly, the hug had not brought her sister back by itself, etc.) but in reality my own basic belief was that Raphaela killed her sister and then continued on living even if in my posts were not really off. Now I am wondering if Raphaela and Luciella had the same youma source or not. I assumed they didn't because of their apparent personalities. But if they did then this body-link could be an extension of their soul-link training. I mean we have seen Claymores used as someones youma source, and we have seen Clare take Irene's arm and slap it on herself, but a Claymore and an Abyssal merging physically? Now we have to see this theme developed, probably with Alicia and Beth and Clare as well.

So this thing is going to wake up. I mean you can't have an weapon of mass destruction that just sits there looking pretty in a story. So what is going to happen when it does? Raphaela appears to still be a claymore and it seems Luciella still has colored hair. Will Raphaela and Luciella's minds have merged completely? Will they retain their original personality? Are they going to be an entirely new monster that is both awakened and unawakened in a constant state of soul link? I need processing time... and the actual chapter to read...

As for Riful only mentioning 3 Abyssals, she certainly recognizes the possibility of leveling the playing field with Raphaela and Luciella. I am not sure but... well, I really need the chapter to read before I get too crazy in my speculation. With this much dialog there is going to be a lot of important information.

I love this chapter. I can't wait for the real raw (Or better yet my belated and expensive paper issue, which I hope will arrive sometime before chapter 83 does...).

I'm really liking this chapter too.

When I first read that spoiler like two days ago, I was more like "wtf, Rafaela + Luciela are fused like Siamese twins. That is so fake. And it doesn't sound like it would be something I would like."

But after seeing the whole thing in context, I think it's great. This chapter is really dark and gritty. And then you have your slice of life bit with Galatea, Father Vincent, Miata and Clarice. There is just so much going on compared to previous chapters.

I think there is more words and dialogue in Chapter 82 than in Chapter 80 and Chapter 81 combined.

You know, we've been finding out all these well-kept hidden secrets in a row recently. But, the answers get you to keep wanting more.

Well, on one level, there is that meaning. I actually translated it from Mandarin. I saw the expression used by Alucard in Hellsing. It has the "biting off more than what you can chew" meaning to it as well.

Although Jonovo feels that Renee will redeem herself by sacrificing her life by thwarting Riful's attack on Raciela before she fully Awakens.

Also, I think Raphaela will be the "human" side to this... thing. Again, Alucard's comment that only humans can destroy monsters come to my mind.

He was actually quite ok with it, Galatea also commented on that (how is he not very scared upon seeing their body) and he said he saw it before 7 years ago while treating Clare so he's kinda used to it now, but he sure was scared back then and did something stupid.

back in chapter 4, page 12 Clare asks if their were any problems with "the other thing" assuming its on her stomach from the context of the chapter.

I've been kind of humoring the idea that, "that thing" is some kind of seal placed on her. but I didn't have any evidence to back that up.

If father Vincent did indeed see it and did "something stupid" like remove it for example, it could explain why Clare almost Partially awakened and/or started to gain Teresa's sensing abilities after her battle in Robona 7 years ago.

plus her dreams and sudden power gains, all happening after Robona.

Wow to what I've seen from this chapter.

I expected this chapter to show a bit of Riful's and Renee's situation, maybe even giving a hint of what she found that could even out the battlefield for her.
But to my surprise, the whole thing was revealed. Thinking well, it was about time, it's been more than a year since Riful's words about this thing, on chapter 71.

Some people speculated about this thing that Riful found possibly being Raphaella or Luciella's dead body.
Luciella's dead body wouldn't help Riful much, since it's dead, but I could totally imagine an unwilling to live Raphaella, totally crippled and held captive by Riful.
That makes double sense considering that no matter how far Luciella ran away from Easley after their fight, Riful was actually close to the place were Raphaella met Luciella.
For sure, an awakened Raphaella would be something strong enough to even out the balance, just supposing that this new abyssal being would cooperate with Riful.
I was sold on the idea, but the only strange thing in this theory was the need of a yoki-manipulator.
If Raphaella, in any kind of miserable state, was what Riful had, then just forcing her to awaken like she often does to any claymore candidate would be enough, no need of a specialized yoki-sensor/manipulator here.

After this chapter, it's like the pieces of the puzzle are now put together. The questions what would be this thing that Riful found and why the need for a yoki-manipulator are answered, and make a lot of sense.
The really unexpected and surprising thing was seeing Luciella in the middle of it, I thought that Luciella's role in the story was finished. It also seems that it takes more than a broken spine from a demoniac hug of death to kill a weakened abyssal.
The question that remains about this now, is how Raphaella managed to merge her body with Luciella's.

This act also speaks a bit (if not a lot) about Raphaella's character I think, she preferred to seal herself with her sister forever rather than keep living and take revenge on the Organization for what they done with them or anything else.
As to what Raphaella did from a story's point of view, I don't think it's too hard to conceive or accept that, not in Claymore. Claymores can regenerate tissues of their body incredibly fast, can regrow members and much more.
There is also the scar issue, subject that was remembered by Vincent and Galatea in this chapter. The scar seems to be a point of unison in this fusion.

And now, regarding how she did that, maybe it's too early to think about it and if it's even going to be revealed. Maybe it's just me, but I think it would be strange and unlikely to see a flashback from this bizarre being, explaining how they come at what they are. Unless the thing becames sentient and conscious enough to communicate without rampaging, when it wakes up.
But I don't think it's some kind of technique, or even something related to the soul link, at least for now. As it appears now, it seems to be just a bizarre, physical fusion of their bodies.

In the end, Riful wasn't bluffing at all, but the control factor of this thing cannot be trusted, unlike Alicia.
It's interesting to note that Riful, who's most of the time so confident and careful about her powers, seemed to acknowledge the possible power of this being and even had plans in the worst possibility.

And as Riful claimed on chapter 71, it seems that it's not necessary to make the yoki-manipulator awaken in order to accomplish what she wants.
So for now, it seems that Renee will stay as a claymore and may even be freed by Riful after she completes her task. Her situation is terribly difficult, but not hopeless after all (or is it?).

As to why Riful cannot do this on her own, it's obvius that she can't and as she said and demonstrated, she even tried to awake the thing using her means, but it was useless.
She wasn't searching a claymore skilled at yoki sensing/manipulating for nothing. Riful may be experienced and have some proficiency at the yoki sensing aspect, but she is not skilled enough to deeply sense/read this thing's state and intervine through yoki manipulation, in order to awaken it.

Again, I'm glad Galatea is at Rabona, taking care of kids and helping the ghosts, totally away of this.

Also, that curious inside cover showing the two AB's merged was a hint of what was coming.
I will be also looking forward to see what happened to the other sisters of this story.
With the introduction of bizarre fusions, and so many weaknesses being pointed, 7 years is a good time for the Organization to find a way to improve their battle machine.
I'm not expecting to see Alicia and Beth fused too, but a fusion could be a way to improve their weakness.

Now a few days for the english scan.

Not all ;P. Immediately after I've read Your theory and went back to volume 12 I knew that almost all of us were jumping to conclusions thinking Luciella's dead. I've even defended Your idea in several posts starting from this one (http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=1255329&postcount=4299). But true enough, everyone besides me thought it was crazy idea. After some time Anima had the same idea independently. Also one of my friends on polish forum thought about it too. Anyway, the fact is it was brilliant idea and not only a guess. I don't remember anyone predicted such interesting twist before.

On the side note, it's interesting that chapter's 65 (the one directly after chapter where Rafaela hugged Luciella) name is Joined by souls :). Maybe it was a hint.

so, SQ is out in stores and I just skipped through the new chapter. It was indeed awesome with many answers. Fate Archer already mentioned most things about the chapter.

Luciela and Rafaela are back. Riful explains that Rafaela did kill Luciela, but since she loved her sister so much, the moment she killed she let her own life flow into her, protecting her. So I suppose Luciela and Rafaela as we know them are both kind of dead or at least gone and are really merged now in body and soul as one entity. At least Riful says, that probably a different "existence" ("seimeitai") from Luciela will awaken, but still with the power of an abyssal one. Riful doesn't know at all what will awaken ("a demon or a snake"), and Renee probably thinks she is nuts for trying to awake something that might be a lot stronger than herself :D But Riful says, if that happens, she will kill it before it awakens completely ... we'll see if she'll succeed ^^;

The picture of them is really beautiful. Maybe somebody will color it ^^

Now we finally now why Riful was searching for a Claymore to read Yoki and she does indeed tell Renee to let her go if she cooperates. But Renee doesn't trust her, of course ^^

And Riful really looks older, especially her face.

Else a small part on the Claymore's body, remember Teresa and the bandits ... maybe we'll really see it someday ^^ And Miria telling the other Claymores to sort out their past and finish all remaining business/revenge ^^ they might have, before taking on the organization. So Clare is now going to the west with Cynthia and Uma, where she'll probably meet with Riful/Raki/Prissy.

I think what Luciella and Raphaela have become absolutely has something to do with their soul link training. They have the ability to perfectly synchronize their youki. If synchronizing your youki can do this to someone I'm almost glad Jean got to die as opposed to being permanently fused to Clare in a comatose state... need raws... I am just making stuff up that is insane at this point based off pictures.

We don't know. Riful only says what I just said ^^ And she also notes that Rafaela didn't do this on purpose, it is just because of her strong feelings for her sister that somehow it worked. She had to kill Luciela, who became a monster, but the moment she killed her, she also protected her by doing what she did, but it's not like she controlled it consciously. Or at least that's what Riful says. More hasn't been explained yet. Or I didn't get it XD

Maybe the being they have become isn't an "awakened" anymore, so it doesn't need to eat humans. That's only my personal thought ... but might give a possiblity for the ending and the final fight between Priscilla and Clare or in general saving the awakened beings ^^

Now, regarding this fusion. I am really wondering where Claymore is heading. I have mixed feelings about the fusion. Did Rafaela intend this partial fusion? I doubt it. Maybe she did intend a full fusion but it went wrong. As some of you said, judging my the pose, it's not the one we've last seen. They are both naked and hugging. Luciella's hair color is preserved! So she wasn't reverted back to a claymore but rather stayed as an AB merging with a Claymore?! It might also explain that texture and feel of the merged parts of their body (resembling AB flesh).

Will Rune successfully complete the fusion? If so, can Riful really force them to awaken? We are talking about 2 very strong claymores (combined?) with one who didn't only partially awaken but fully; unlocking all her potential which we know to be abyssal!

I don't think Riful will be able to use the torture approach on them unless they were crippled. But then I also don't think she can use Rune's yoki manipulation ability to force them to awaken like the Turtle AB from 7 years ago tried to do with Undine. We have a claymore who is excelling at soul link (which I believe is an advanced technique of yoki manipulation). To put it in simple words, Riful is in for some deep shit! (sorry about that).

Hi, this is my first post on this forum though I have been reading this part for more info on Claymore manga.

I have seen only the pic of the 2 sisters merging, but are Luciela and Rafaela merged when the latter apparently broke her back? I noticed that Dauf has impaled them both at the waist like a swish kebob. Btw, the most recent posts on the twin goddesses Teresa and Clare seem like a clue.

It feels like both sisters merged are a literal and figurative expression of the goddesses statue. So I guess Riful wants to create an AB but not really an AB as in like Alicia and Beth?

@chiba: even if she was killed and now merged with Rafaela, I don't think it's the same as Teresa and Clare. Clare is a Claymore because Teresa is inside her; the Engine of her powers. In the other hand, Rafaela is a full fledged Claymore. However, I do get your idea. killed claymores inside living ones. But would Luciella add more power to Rafaela? I think so. It's like Irene's arm's added power to Clare. The question is however, would it affect the amount of power added to Rafaela if Luciella was alive or dead?

Anyhow, I think we WILL see Rafaela alive and kickin' again. :D Luciella is another story.

That is what Riful says literally, yes. "As a Claymore she had to kill her sister who became a monster. But the little sister also loved her. So she what she managed to do is, killing and protecting her at the same time".

So, I think, as I said above, the Luciela we know -the abyssal monster eating humans- is indeed dead as is the Raphaela we know.

Riful only talked about "something different from Luciela will awake". So maybe a mix of both sisters ^^;

And well, the big question now is, has Luciela been "protected" from being an AB? has she been turned back or rather become something completely different from AB and Claymores?

So I don't think anybody was right or wrong about Luciela being dead or not. Because she was killed and is still alive, but not the same Luciela XD But of course, you can say that those saying she was alive thought that she would still play a role in the story, and that's true at least ^^

And I agree that they are "vegetative". They don't react to anything from outside ... not even Duff impaling them with his sticks >.< That's why Riful need Renee to "awake them from the inside". I suppose it is like the AB and Undine, that were just mentioned.

I just thought of this but I'm not so sure. Is it possible that with the fusion of luciela and Rafaela that an awakened being that a claymore that can awaken and go back has been formed. you know like how Clare now has Irene's arm, Rafaela now has Luciela's awakened body.
With the way things are going, we might get to see a claymore that has an awakened being as a side kick.

Sort of like a constant soul link like thing? Sure why not :D This is a massive development for the soul link here so it will have an impact on what awakening is. Just like seeing Priscilla not eating humans has warped our perceptions a little, this most recent thing is going to show us something else about the soul link. It already has, visually at least.

The Racila merge is prob gonna awakened as a completely new entity rather then old Luci or just Raf. I do think Ritful can sense youki well enough to determine whether she can control the awakened Racila or not, and may know a way to use Rene to apply youki manipulation to help her control/modify the awakened process so that she will achieve some kinda of control over the new AO Racila.

With the choice Raf choose in her "killing" of Luci, I think Irene is prob still alive.

The whole "Raf" is Miria's informant theory just got thrown out of the window.

I don't think Teresa should be revived in something similar to Racila, it would undermine the strength of entire Teresa Arc and Teresa's character. Although, Yagi can choose to let the Org have some type of cloning technology.
