tested awhile ago w/ old patch(1.04+) then patched it up w/ the new(1.05+), wth I can't do continuous charge range atks lol. I was in practice mode w/ sarara (& most of the characters w/ the charged range skill) and I do 50+ hit w/ charge range, then after patching up, it stayed only 1 hit. nooooo~ :heh:
well, that's done. yeah, there's no way they'll leave it like that.

I really don't recall her having more then 2 attacks.
Melee can be "invented" just like Nanoha's melee staff-strike.
Ranged can be a little arrow, like Sarara's or Sakura's.
One special will be...what? Mint arrow? OK. It can be either chargeable or "cast-type" or immediate.
What about second special and 2 supers? Summoning her fellow mewmews that can't fly? Not an option.
She doesn't have "various attacks". Actually, the only Mewmew that has more than one attack is Ichigo.
So she may be cute and all, but she does not fit in.

I think the ability to fly can pretty much be "invented" and doesn't necessarily HAVE to stick with the original. Well, if you aren't too bothered by it anyway as it does kind of modify the characters. I mean the reason how Ruru is able to fly as well is beyond me though it doesn't need to be explained. This is a doujin game afterall :heh:

Caster's rule breaker originally is used to control an opponent, not steal their attacks. I think it would be a nice addition if it allows an enemy to be mind controlled to fight for you (and an AI) for like 30 secs or so :rolleyes:

Non-Nanoha candidates for MBA characters? Beyond flying and having numerous attacks (and being a magical girl...), the next requirement is OVERWHELMING FIREPOWER. This is why most Magical Girls don't qualify - their fights never were about massive collateral damage. I'd be leaning towards Phantasmoon Eclipse and Kaleido Ruby.

The teleport move is:
Up+X for teleporting before the opponent
Down+X for teleporting behind the opponent
Only in close range though.

Yes, there are Nanoha, Fate, Sakura, Kirara, Sarara.
You can unlock Ruru, Nowell and the gadget drone.
You can download Lina, Naga and Kukuri.

If you wanted elemental attacks at the right calibre, I'd suggest looking into Touhou.

hmm i seem to be having a problem in Magical Battle Arena. it works fine, there are no errors but... during my gameplay, my hp bar and skill bar thing disappears. It appears sometimes usually while a charge a skill and etc. then it disappears again. Now it disappears most of the time. Can anyone fix this?

If you have a router, go to your router setting's page. It is most likely 192.168.x.1, you can find out what the "x" is by going to Start -> Run -> cmd -> /ipconfig.

Alternatively you can use hamachi and join others' games through their hamachi IP or host your own. I'm not sure if you need the ports forwarded using this option, let me know when you find out.

i don't know if anyone have replied this or not XD but you don't need port 14500 out to use hamachi. since my ports aren't out and i'm able to play via hamachi, it makes sense that you don't need them, right? XP

You are thinking of characters' moral values. I was talking of story/series philosophies. If you're familiar with SRW terminology, it's analogous to Real Type vs Super Type shows: Yes, there are many units/shows that straddle between the two boundaries. But there are shows which are 100% on one side, and it's not really feasible to try and make them act like the other side.

That is: you cannot "easily balance" the situation. There may not be an issue for you, but if the developers give "Traditional"-type magical girls a ton of firepower to balance things out, then to me that's destroying the concept/meaning of those characters. It's the same as in fanfiction: if a story has too much OOC-ness (Out of Character) with no development storytelling to explain how these jarring changes happened, then that story won't be highly regarded.


Of course, there's always the option of putting in the characters with default power levels. Maybe I'm misguided: what's the 'power level' of the Sailor Senshi at the very end of their multiple seasons? If that is very low compared to "whoops, yet another town got blown up" Lina Inverse, would fans be happy playing underpowered characters just because they're from their favourite series?

I personally agree with this response. If you see the game, the "concept" of the firepower in each anime (Well, Sarara and Kirara don't count in the word "anime." lol.) pretty much matches the graphics of each attack and its power. For example, Nanoha uses a huge firepower when firing Divine Buster in the first season; same goes for this game. I'm supporting the fact that Fly System are putting the characters' powers according to its source. If Sailor Senshi is extremely weak compared to Nanoha, then be so. I have a taste for originality.

your install directory is unreadable. Make sure that when you install the game you re write the folder name where you want you game to be stored, for example;

D:\Program Files\Marshmallow\MBA\


my machine can read japanese just fine so it doesn;t matter if i have the directory set in japanese or english. I suggest fixing your folder name and the shortcut on your desktop if you don't want to uninstall and reinstall again.

Yep... Your eyes are not deceiving you. The attack list incorporates the spells shown from A's to StrikerS. And her most powerful attack is apparently just like that in final battle in A's episode 12, where Nanoha, Fate and Hayate combo's Starlight Breaker, Plasma Zamber Breaker and Ragnarok Breaker at the same time!!! :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Hayate A's really pack a punch there with her Triple Breaker. I expect it to be the most powerful special in MBA once they get implemented, I mean, no way anyone could survive FHN combi-attack so a little boost in damage won't hurt.

I couldn't decide whether to laugh or facepalm at the fact that she's using the Tome of the Night Sky to whack the opponent in her melee attacks. Err, hello? Schwertkreuz has the blades that hurt, you know? XD
Her basic ranged attack is Bloody Dagger, which is quite fitting. It also seems like it explodes when the dagger shot is a charged one, which is a bonus!:D
Atem des Eises turned out as I expected, tracking the enemy and then a large ice explosion much like that of Naga's ice attack.
Hraesvelgr, on the other hand, is looking like a quad-buster. O_O Since the one in the video didn't get it fully charged, I assume a full-charged one fires from the center circle too.:D
Diabolic Emission looks awesome!:D Turns out she does it like Reinforce, who cast it and even detonated it near her. And wow, that explosion looks like it could rival Lina's Dragon Slave in blast radius! @_@
And then at the end of the video... Triple Breaker...:love::love::love:

Vita's looking every bit of a fitting match for those who want to kick Ruru's butt in melee!:D
Her basic attacks are pretty much expected. But her finisher turns out to be a one-two hitter. Well, no complaints here.:D Who would say no to whacking your opponent with a giant hammer the size of a building?! XD
I do wish they showed us her hat getting taken off, though. :( Maybe if her health bar decreases to the point where she can use Magic Burst 2, the hat would be gone?XD

She's... definitely appearing more fearsome than any other character I've yet to see in MBA. Almost all her attacks seem so... Overwhelming... @_@
Her Charge+Melee turns out like the melee charging attacks from the melee-oriented characters. And to think Nanoha is a ranged-type...O_O
Her Divine Buster looks a lot better too. And then actually being allowed to use the Blaster System up to level 3 normally...O_O
HOLY HELL STARLIGHT BREAKER X5 BREAK SHOOT?!?! :eek::eek::eek: @____________________@ That's it! She should be the final boss character instead now!!! @____@
Sadly, seems like we won't be getting her normal Barrier Jacket as shown in StrikerS and in her character portrait. :( Well, not really anything major...:heh:

I couldn't decide whether to laugh or facepalm at the fact that she's using the Tome of the Night Sky to whack the opponent in her melee attacks. Err, hello? Schwertkreuz has the blades that hurt, you know? XD
Her basic ranged attack is Bloody Dagger, which is quite fitting. It also seems like it explodes when the dagger shot is a charged one, which is a bonus!:D
Atem des Eises turned out as I expected, tracking the enemy and then a large ice explosion much like that of Naga's ice attack.
Hraesvelgr, on the other hand, is looking like a quad-buster. O_O Since the one in the video didn't get it fully charged, I assume a full-charged one fires from the center circle too.:D
Diabolic Emission looks awesome!:D Turns out she does it like Reinforce, who cast it and even detonated it near her. And wow, that explosion looks like it could rival Lina's Dragon Slave in blast radius! @_@

Vita's looking every bit of a fitting match for those who want to kick Ruru's butt in melee!:D
Her basic attacks are pretty much expected. But her finisher turns out to be a one-two hitter. Well, no complaints here.:D Who would say no to whacking your opponent with a giant hammer the size of a building?! XD
I do wish they showed us her hat getting taken off, though. :( Maybe if her health bar decreases to the point where she can use Magic Burst 2, the hat would be gone?XD

Her Divine Buster looks a lot better too. And then actually being allowed to use the Blaster System up to level 3 normally...O_O

You sure about that? From what I notice when this happens, it ONLY seems to affect Charged melee attacks, everything else seems to "go through" just fine. It also seems that Nowell's Charged Melee attack triggers this the most...

There are three occurences whereas this occurs.
1. During C+S, special mode.
2. When your opponent knocks you down, and you are on the spur of getting up (you're still vulnerable if you were just knocked down), some attacks that opponent shoots miss.
3. When you're not knocked down, rather just pushed back by a strong force (like charged melee), for very few seconds, you're invulnerable with exception of beam attacks, and passive moves (like bind from Nowel). Axel shooter ignores this, because even when it miss, it goes around to hit it again, like Nowel's mines. However this doesn't always occurs. Although i seem to get this alot from Kirara.

Nobody will laugh at you for being a novice. Because, we were all novices before as well! Anyways back to your question.
Fate? Hm. Did you know that when using Plasma Lancer, (S+A) you can change the course of it? Press S+A again and it'll redirect to enemy. It'll work up to two times. Also, when fighting Ruru, it's important to use teleportation (Down,Up + X) you can deal up to a whole bar by meleeing. try using haken saber thereafter.

That's work on computers but that surely won't work on human players.

Ah the best way to get up when you're down is spam the move buttons (S, A, X and Z. i hate to spam C because double tapping C does super dash. SA is the first move. CCA is speed dash then melee. it's effective because A after CC makes opponent stun.

AMD Athon64 3700+ 2.2 Ghz
2 GB of RAM
NVidia Geforce 6800 GS

The specs of the PC that does work:
Macbook via Windows XP
Intel Core 2 2.16 GHz
2 GB of RAM
Intel GMA 950


The only major difference is the CPU and graphics card.

You live in California right? Alright it is very difficult, even close to impossible, to play net against each other without a lag with direct internet connection. hamachi is simply like another internet connection which produces less lag (not really).

To be more specific, hamachi has its own ports; therefore the ports in your computer is not needed. since hamachi joins up many computers at once, one server holds up to about 30 computers with a single port, therefore lagging "less." not really less, just for people who has bad ports or no ports.

Anyways, since you live in California, i suggest you join mine; most of us are west US.

The biggest point for Hamachi is the fact that it allows user to join/host games when they are not able to do so under normal circumstances (especially those who use routers).

The lessened lag is marginal and often a placebo effect.

I don't know a lot about these things, but it could also have something to do with the codec MBA uses to play the opening video. MBA on my computer will also freeze up before the opening movie, but I fix it by clicking inside the window multiple times, and ffdshow audio decoder starts.

It's probably going to be pretty big, considering there are three new characters, new stages, new modes, etc. And if it's going to have to be installed over the original game, remember to backup your files. 5-day warning, just in case.

Even then, it's not very precise. The game was designed so that all you had to do was shoot whatever the game already aimed for you. I'm pretty sure those huge ball things are probably pre-aimed, like all other targets. From what I can guess, though, it's that it'll probably be moving alot and coming close to you pretty quickly.

hm you have a point. that's true; well but then again, it's a fighting game for a purpose. if it wasn't locked-on and pre-aimed, the genre of this game would be a shooting game instead.

this patch is not the lyrical pack itself, it is a patch for the lyrical pack. so if you don't have the lyrical pack, this patch doesn't have any use :D

Fly round and round, switching targets in the meanwhile, and release a divine buster or something to fill up ur gauge. Once ur gauge is full, fly round them again and far away, release a Starlight Breaker in their general direction. Might take a few tries.

I've just passed it an hour ago. Basically, you do not need to kill them. Just reduce the health of either one of them to half and you'll complete your mission.

I designated nanoha throughout the mission as she is slow and vulnerable when firing. You may do otherwise if you know how to deal with Fate chan...:eyespin:

To deal with them, just fly around and seperate them. Do not let them stick together. Strike while there's an opening.

I think it's more of getting the drone to do the hugging thing on either Fate or Nanoha 5 times (I love the fan service here lol)
