Actually the translated version has a bigger res. Go get that your scanslated manga sources. Only things not to like here is the story is all comedy and has no plot and it's a monthly release.

Yep...pretty similar how Niigakki started. In the edo period or old Japan. I wanna see some decent comedy. KJ also went over the edge making Harima hit a girl namely Eri, but for comedic purposes. But in truth Harima hit Lala first when he turned SS Monkey and went berseked back at SR manga.
Just hoping the next chapter will be less slapstick and give us more lol's in situations.

Puuh.. :o you surprised me m8. ;)
First i thought, you guys would know, that the whole SRZ would be like the first charpter, just a comedy show without any plot. Well i think it will be like you said, just the same as Niigakki. So i cant wait for the next charpter. :)

Well you can check every single post. I was never upset about it, oppossite, i was happy, that KJ is continuing School Rumble.

Hmm, i was under the impression that fans were trying to push KJ with their ideas how the direction of his work should move/end. I'm actually glad that he stick with his vision for his manga.
What i don't get, is SRZ created by KJ so he can take the piss of other anime/manga and the original series? Will it have a proper story line or will it be something loose like the bonus chapters?

Maybe because he intended School Rumble to like Azumanga and Lucky star, but with boys so it keeps reseting. Not a slice of life, but a random comedic gags through out the school years of Tenma and Harima. I kinda get his vision, but it can't happen when a certain pairing gets the readers attention.
Ok back to the manga chapter. So this is a Harima x Tenma chapter since Harima falls for Tenma here when he sees him, but truly one sided since she doesn't give a damn about Harima and she even trows a rock at him. WHAT?!!! RAGE!!! Ungreatful little...Tenma-chan. lol :heh:

This is hardly a continuation. More like useless side comedy.

i might have been a bit happier if after a month of waiting KJ would give fans atleast 30+ pages of parody hogshit but 16 pages of this CMON!! Im thinking about it from the marketing point of view, SRz begining was to random so new ppl that dont know what SR is about wont understand SRz so you will lose fans and not gain fresh ones. Oh well, im easy to please, if the next chapter is atleast 20 pages long, ill be happy (sorta)

Anyone who's confident this chapter will be followed-up with a continuation of school rumble should read to description on the opening page of the chapter.
"The "School Rumble" super-evolved!
The stage breaks out of the school, breaks out of time and space
and on some occasions, even breaks out of the stratosphere!
Parallel Comedy starting serialization now!"
I'm not going to make a definite statement cause I can't read KJ at all, but I'm definately not going to hold my breath. It seems like it's going to be a bunch of gags involving the school rumble cast. It also seems there will eventually be a space chapter...bleh

KJ's description of SRZ...
The "School Rumble" super-evolved! - Nope, it's the same old designs, nothing to super
The stage breaks out of the school, breaks out of time and space - true since we see the old Japan and Tenma in a space uniform
and on some occasions, even breaks out of the stratosphere! - true since the cover is Tenma in space without a helment WTF?
Parallel Comedy starting serialization now!" - True parallel, like th gurren laggan music vids and comedy.
To the the truth I really didn't laugh much at this chapter, but I am expecting something good soon. Also the description of SRZ should be saying. NO PLOT ONLY RANDOM GAGS and stories.

Good start. Anyway the harima's reaction and thought haven't changed this far. He's still admiring Tenma. And the other dislikes him especcially Hanai. And... Harima still hate Sawachika so much. He doesnt hesitate to punch sawachika's head over and over again, and sawachika is still trusting him--by showing the hidden treasure. I'm relieved this is the same and usual School Rumble. Anyway, i'm a fan of harima and sawachika pairing and i hope the story will make them together. Yo Harima!
Sawachika Eri : "you... would you be my fiance... that's the favor that i asked as friends..."
...
Harima Kenji : " I accept!... i will do whatever you ask."

Notice the '♮' sign. I too don't know what this stands for, as "#" would stand for actual plot, and "♭" would stand for extra chapters.
Maybe it's just another lame shit he came up with.

♮=bullshit chapters
It also means natural in music language. So it would seem that this is not the real story if the real story is told in sharps. Of course, school rumble z could just be a bunch of ♮ chapters. :p
Best thing to do is hold out till the next release. I think that will tell us a lot about the direction of this manga.

start a riot... come on... in 280 they're engaged and 283? Harima end up with freedom. <at least he was experienced to be engaged and hugged once in his life>
Sigh. I basically just spent all the free time ive had from work in the last four days watching school rumble. At the end of ni gakki I just couldn't take it, i had to continue the story by reading the manga. For the last 6 hours i've read from roughly chapter 180 to 283. I got to the end thinking 283 was the last bit of storyline I'd ever see out of SR. Needless to say, it disappointed me beyond words. I've been hopelessly wishing for some sort of resolution, for anime/manga that have no ending, or end in the "Let the reader decide" fashion is the worst thing for me. The story was great all up until the last two chapters when all I could think was What the fuck is this? Then through some miracle (Google) I find that SR Z is in serialization. First chapter already scanlated. Success! (I think to myself) Only to find that once again the creator fucked me over by making the first chapter a joke chapter. After that mind rape known as chapter 283.
But I thought about it. And I really think he made the first chapter this way to give the readers a clue that SRZ will be heading back to the style that it once used, before everything got all super dramatic towards the end. I cannot say for sure. I can only hope that Z will end up continuing the storyline, and hopefully providing some sort of closure this time around. These are my feelings of School Rumble as of now.
Also, does anyone know when the second chapter of Srz will be published? o_o;

The thing that sucks though is that even if srz is a continuation of the storyline (a big if), we only get 12 16-page chapters a year! I don't know if I have that much devotion to keep up with it...:(
Was there anyone here who mentioned there's like a survey or poll (also a 4 panel strip about SR) in last months magazine special issue (the one with SRZ #1) which asks the readers what they'd like to see in the future out of 3 options? : Tenma and friends, side characters or timeskip. At least i got it from spoilerpics of SRZ #1 over at wannabe quite some time ago, it's just that nobody seems to have mentioned it here before...
Tenma
No.
side characters
No.
or timeskip
HAHAHAHAHA no.
What, no retcon option? :heh:
Darknemo2000
2008-09-02, 17:17
I also wonder about that... All three options look crappy... There should have been a choice - "All choices suck" and I am sure it would have gotten the most votes.
Tenma and friends should be equal to the usual SR...
Supah Em
2008-09-02, 20:24
Harima and Eri IS equal to SR
what the hell are those options? It wouldnt be surprising if the voting turnout was low or something.
Harima and Eri IS equal to SR...
Maybe not from a KJ-POV...
CaptainSmoker
2008-09-03, 09:13
The only way SRz will survive, is if the next issue actually begins a real story(preferable the older story). Oh and if the next issue shows -Tenma in a cowboy costume taking gun shots at Harima :twitch: :uhoh: :upset: :frustrated:
Darknemo2000
2008-09-03, 10:32
the first choice is the most SR similar...Yet it makes Tenma the main character again and KJ's delusional brains are not able to understand that Tenma is not the main character animore... heck she isn't even half as popular as the three main ones - Harima, Eri or Yakumo.
Harima is the real main character and main attraction of SR. Almost noone cares about such crappy character as Tenma no matter how hard KJ tries to push her she is no longer a SR. Harima, Eri and Yakumo is SR... Tenma resembles more of an annoying nuisance that should have been killed off long long time ago rather than the main character...
Anyway, the way things are I do not think that SRZ will hold for a long time before being canceled due to low popularity. now its still rides the fame of SR that even one of the crappiest endings didnt managed to kill off, but if such random nonsense continues and once per month - there are no chances for such useless manga to survive for a longer period of time.

2008-09-04, 00:20
Yes I agree Darknemo, if the story left off right where SR ended, then that means that the Tenma story is done, she's with Karasuma, and they should now only be left as side characters. I'm sure the people are much more interested in Harima-Eri-Yakumo than.. those two.
Let's hope KJ gets smarter with the story in the next chapter..
kenjiharima
2008-09-04, 15:47
KJ's fall on Tenma is the main joke character. Gets annoying when she grows on you. Unlike Harima a delinquent that is more relatetable since his character development not just trying to get the attention of Tenma, but gaining people around him to like him and even love him "Eri-Yakumo" and he's reformed a bit unlike the first Harima which is nothing but an ass kicker at school.
I suggest to KJ that he'd better concentrate on the popular characters rather than doing random non-sense. Monthly we'll be tortured by this. One reason I'm looking at his other works for salvation and there is light. Natsu no Arashi, though the characters there still to develop it has an interesting plot.
Just read the First chapter was bleh but seeing how the 2nd term started like this the next one might be a surprise.

I think it was the useless fillers. They should have done the Kyoto arc instead of those fillers. They tired to make school rumble niigakki a parody anime which many didn't like. They should have focused more on the manga story in season2. And look at season 3. Almost like a crap pie end.

Time to put the nail in the coffin, srz is officially dead, i cant believe we assumed it would continue from where SR left off mainly because the ending was complete crap.
ITs safe to say now that KJ was nvr serious about SR from the start, it was simply supose to be a Spongebob comedy like show with no real conclusion. Im gona go to bed now, after all this guru gu mawaru crap i feel dizzy and sick :eyespin:

Unless KJ starts to draw ecchi...Oh well, better head back to the chapters of Natsu no Arashi. This is where it seems KJ is more serious in story telling and drawing. The art is great the story is interesting and it seems NNA is the manga he's really serious on. Though the main lead boy is not as bad ass as Harima, who cares about that punk Iam looking forward to Arashi and Kaja. ;)
SRZ will pretty much be the comedy show KJ really wanted I guess, I least that's the vision he really has for it, where Harima is the comedian that gets it always in the end like in old the looney toons show. Kinda hurts me in a way, since he's my fav character. Oh well KJ's the creator of SR and SRZ if he can what he want with his characters. Just don't screw up NNA, Iam really gonna kill him if that ever happens.

Although I’ve had it with Kj ill try NNA out after hearing your take on it but... Harima and Eri were also among my faves. I really feel KJ didn’t even try to conclude SR for fans, whats up with Mikoto and Hanais story!!! Do they even have a conclusion? Say does anyone think that the story will "pick up" in later chapters as some people are speculating now, i feel like SR fans are on this endless wild goose chase, only to be disappointed every time.

If SRZ doesn't give a good chapter after 8 more chapters I'll go for Natsu no Arashi. Just hope SRZ is not ALWAYS the gag manga, but has some elements of what school rumble use to be. Harima can end up with either Yakumo or Eri. Or Yakumo can end up with Hanai or Hanai can end up with Akira that stuff. It'll be a great relief to see JUST A LITTLE of those things.

Let's be reasonable, guys...
This is the second chapter. On the last chapter there was a survey asking where fans wanted SRZ to go. It would take time for him to get results back from the survey, and then he'd have to formulate plans, or adapt his story plans to the needs of the fans.
If he is honestly listening to the survey, then it was unreasonable to expect SRZ to start its main story in this chapter. We should hold out hope that within the next couple of chapters we'll see the end of these 'natural' chapters, and go back towards the a or b story chapters.
I'm not saying that these chapters have not been disappointing. I also agree that the lack of communication with his fans about where he is taking the series is downright stupid of him. And the naysayers may be correct, this may never be anything but a gag manga until its cancellation. But at this point it is too early to simply write it off, though I can certainly understand not waiting with baited breath at this point. Ask yourself, what purpose would the survey hold if he wasn't intending to follow one of those paths?
So let's try to hold in the cynicism and the declarations that the end is upon us until we can be sure.

See, it's not obvious what fans want unless you talk to them. Surveys are a great way to talk to them.
I understand you're frustrated, I am as well. But let's not be ridiculous. Either one of two things has happened.
A.) This is Filler until he gets his act together for whatever reasons unknown to us.
B.) He really wants to do a comedy manga starring the SRZ characters.
The translated survey at the end of chapter 1 would suggest A. But professional writers do not 'troll' their fanbases. Let's keep the disappointment rational.
See, it's not obvious what fans want unless you talk to them. Surveys are a great way to talk to them.
Or you can visit the world's largest message board and gauge their reactions to your work. 5000+ responses and you still need a survey? Does Jin live in a cave?
This is Filler until he gets his act together
If he had everything together in the first place SR wouldn't be in the mess that it is now.
He really wants to do a comedy manga starring the SRZ characters
But he already did just that. It was called School Rumble :uhoh:
professional writers do not 'troll' their fanbases
They also know how to write satisfying conclusions. Jin should learn from them.
looks like he learned a lot from Rumiko Takahashi.
"professional writers do not 'troll' their fanbases"
You obviously have never heard of a certain great (lolwut) manga artist named Man-gatarou.
There HAS been plenty of "professional" manga artist that trolled or threw a fit at the reader base, and either wrote crappy manga in pissed-off state, or ran off.
They usually dissapear into obsecurity and never seen again in the field.
However, there are few who makes it his style and sticks with it (like the great Man-Gatarou sensei) and there are those who are fairly sucessful, despite their arrogant attiitude towards everyone.
Tatsuya Egawa for one. I don't understand why he can stick around in the manga industry after so much bullshit he's spewed both on TV and in his manga.
He is by far the most hated manga artist in the industry (both by his peers and manga readers), period. Of course, I guess that could be a status on its own... :heh:
Don't think every "professional manga artist" adhere to professional standards, ColdFury.
In my 30+ years of manga reading, I've witnessed quite a few that doesn't deserve the respect.
I hope a year down the road, we don't see....

I have an impression that think mangaka's to be gods, without human faults... Sorry, but they are humans...They get pissed-off and do troll their manga-readers, usually they run-off after that but some like Man-Gatarou remain, making a trolling their style.
For your information there are Japanese forums like chans where you can get plenty of information what fans like or not. And if you get thousands of hate comments after the manga ending you have to understand that you did something wrong...

Before this thread get too heated! Isn't there a chance that he need this poll to convince his publisher?
I mean like in the Anime/manga and the rest of the world the artist doesn't poses full control, unless one is named Spielber... no wait, George Lucas. :D

Certainly, there are bad eggs in the world that do bad things. And I am not as versed in the history of mangaka hissy fits as others. But I do think it is too early to tell in the case of School Rumble.
One of the problems with the Internet, is people on the Internet overvalue their opinions. ^_^ A message board forum, no matter how big, is not an unbiased sample of the views of your readership. The internet is always going to be a minority of the works' readership. There are plenty of people who know how to read who won't go to that forum, or use the internet much at all.
And you also have to recall that the Internet is like anything else... you will see 10 pissed off people for every 1 satisfied person you see, simply because the other satisfied people don't feel the need to talk about it, regardless to the actual ratio of happy to mad readers the manga has.
So no, an internet forum is not the best way to get marketing research data, no matter how much we'd like it to be.
And remember guys, I'm not saying anyone is wrong here. I'm saying let's see what the next two chapters bring. If chapters 3 & 4 continue the random parodies with no word from the author as to a return to more traditional SR fair, I will be right there with you on the abandon ship train. Right now I'm simply reminding everyone that the situation isn't as dire as some of the comments suggest, yet.

Why the hell would he need a survey when he left that huge plot hole dangling in SR? :uhoh:
It's obvious what the fans want. Jin is just trolling everyone.
I have to agree with freeter, KJ isn’t stupid he knows his entire fan base yearns for something we can identify as an ending. KJ has a strange fan base (yes us) I don’t think any other fan base in the manga world is as starved yet tolerant as us. I keep coming back in search of some sort of redemption only to be slapped with nonsensical humor and resets. I think SR fans see the potential of the series yet the author refuses to capitalize upon it. He persistently ignores the fanbase and pulls off these ridiculous parodies and other useless gags, he’s simply trolling everyone. If you keep feeding your dog nothing but bare bone you‘ll have one angry puppy in no time, its about time to see some the meat!

I don’t know much about the manga industry and how it works but marketing is pretty simple, you cant market a product no one likes. I just believed it to be common sense that a manga that is only published once per month needs to deliver to its fan base consistently or they too will abandon it, these parodies are not swaying in new readers… its pushing readers away!!! No matter how funny they are… it seems at this rate Srz will be canceled before it can even have a chance to return to its old glory.
To me It would be very strange if Srz shifts randomly back to the original plot in a later chapter at this point wouldn't it? If we were to have a sudden return to the main story line in chapter 4, for example, how can anyone blame fans for jumping ship? I think Srz is entirely a parody series unfortunately. At this point I believe KJ is determined to see this parody stuff through but may decide to return to SR’s story in a Harima Rumble series or something in the future.
Oh and yakumo is dazzling in anything she wears (regaurding the new cover)

I love how, in the same paragraph, you say that KJ isn't stupid, but that he's a troll. ^_^
I understand that the ending to SR was frustrating. I *get* that. And I know that, after that ending, having the release schedule shift to monthly and to get two parody chapters in a row is rough. But to say 'I keep coming back' after two chapters is a bit over-reactive, that's all I'm saying.
Let me be theoretical for a second, here. He ended the manga in an odd spot. In a perfect world the ending would've been better, but maybe he wanted to give SR a nice capstone that ended Tenma's story. Now that it's over, he takes a break and writes some parody chapters as filler while he works on the main story. He does a survey to see which aspect of School Rumble people like the most. I understand that on the interwebs people love the Harima/Eri/Yakumo, and I concur with that sentiment, but maybe he wanted to get some up to date info from people who weren't forum goers.
Now he has that information, sees how popular each aspect of school rumble is from something of a broader sample, and now is writing new chapters that accentuate what he thinks the fans want to see. And when his filler parodies run out, we'll be away with a new story.
This is theoretical guess work on my part, you could even call it fantasy. I certainly hope its true. It is just as likely, if not moreso, than the "He is a troll lol" theory.

People who write things are not necessarily marketing geniuses. I agree, from a marketing perspective this is a moderate disaster. Even under my 'dream scenario' above, it's foolish of him not to communicate more clearly that the main story will continue, if it does so.
However, to say that he's pushing readers away based on internet forum feedback is not necessarily accurate. Internet forum traffic doesn't always reflect sales. Even on the aforementioned 4chan, I'm sure, when it comes down to it, most of the noise on any School Rumble thread comes from under 50 people. And that's hardly indicative of market trends. It's indicative of those 50 people's opinion.
I'm too lazy to go look this up, but I believe there was three designations for chapters in School Rumble, A plot, B plot, and one that was used for a group plot once. They were based on musical annotation, IIRC. sharp, flat, natural, not necessarily in that order. The chapters thus far, if forum info I recall reading is accurate, have been notated as being natural chapters, I think. So it is conceivable that when the story picks back up, we may see a 'Sharp' or 'Flat' chapter 1 that starts the story.
And again, this is hopeful thinking on my part. However the main evidence I have for this is the survey, it fits. And it just seems more likely than accusing this brilliant author who wrote this story that we love of not 'getting' his own story. Or of accusing him of 'trolling' his fans by writing an all parody series from here on out.
In all likelihood the correct answer is probably either mine, or that he is doing parodies from now on for a certain reason, whether it be he got tired of School Rumble, that it got canceled and the editors of the new magazine wanted a parody manga and he just threw this together, or some other reason. He certainly isn't doing something he thinks will be unsuccessful in order to piss off his fan base.
I'm just asking for a bit of rational thought here guys. I know that reading Parody Rumble after the ending School Rumble had is tough, but let's not lose all reason or give up on hope just yet.
In a perfect world the ending would've been better, but maybe he wanted to give SR a nice capstone that ended Tenma's story.
Why would we need to be in a "perfect" world to get a better, conclusive ending to SR? You're giving Jin far too much credit.
Tenma's story could've been addressed anytime. However, Eri's story was just as important, and hers didn't have to be sacrificed just so Tenma could get closure (if you can even call it that).
I understand that on the interwebs people love the Harima/Eri/Yakumo, and I concur with that sentiment, but maybe he wanted to get some up to date info from people who weren't forum goers.

It's not just that they "loved" it, but an important development had surfaced and Jin put the lid on it without any explanation. You don't have to be an interwebber to realize the grave error that he made.

Jin a "brilliant author"? I was right, you do give him too much credit :heh:
If he's so great, why would he need a survey to dictate where the plot goes? Why not actually plan ahead and have the series go in the direction he wants instead of being reliant on feedback?

The thing that pissed fans off is the manga's sudden end with out resolutions to the other characters and the main characters. If KJ gets back to the main storyline and lessen the jokes he might gain back the trust of the fans.
I am more depressed and sad now than angry after seeing the end animated since I feel KJ didn't wanted it to end YET.

Who said he wanted to end it all? To my knowledge only the main plot which had outstayed its welcome is ended giving the series a chance to change its focus, rethink itself.
Tenma's story could've been addressed anytime. However, Eri's story was just as important, and hers didn't have to be sacrificed just so Tenma could get closure (if you can even call it that).
But should Eri's story be rushed? Some readers/viewers would rather be in the dark than having her story molested in the name of a quick ending.
It's not just that they "loved" it, but an important development had surfaced and Jin put the lid on it without any explanation. You don't have to be an interwebber to realize the grave error that he made.
It's not easy to make an interesting development which makes the readers want more.
Obviously such a thing is done for a reason.
4chan =/= 2chan. The former is barely 1/10th of what the latter is.
But the internet still isn't the best place to ask, people on the boards tend to be too extreme and many times they do not even buy the product but get it through... well you know.
Just look at all the highly praised games on the internet which fail in sales where hated by the internet film adoptions are very profitable.
Asking the readers through a survey in the album will give a much better picture of the actual situation, because it's from those who actually pay and care enough about the development to send in their opinion.
Jin a "brilliant author"? I was right, you do give him too much credit :heh:
If it's so easy to ridicule his talent then it shouldn't be hard for you to find something better to read.
Unless you have some sick urge to read all mangas.
No, fact is that we are here and care because he made captivating characters who we actually care about.
You like I won't be satisfied with just any kind of ending. I actually do not want it to end any time soon(I'd feel different of it was like 90210 where everyone date everyone).
If he's so great, why would he need a survey to dictate where the plot goes? Why not actually plan ahead and have the series go in the direction he wants instead of being reliant on feedback?
Had you read my previous post you would know that the editor always has the last word, it's not only about what the artist feel like drawing.
Unless the artist is such a recognised talent that the editors do not dare to argue.
If he grew tired of SR, wouldn't that concur with him wanting to aggravate his fanbase as a result of souring his interest? The possibility is there, just as all of the aforementioned options.
But as said we only know the internet fanbase and the the editors might not know what the fanbase want at all.
This is a question about money, the editor need to see on paper that more drama won't hurt the sales.
Sorry, but you shouldn't have to wait 5 chapters in for an actual story to surface. It should hit the ground running from the get-go.
And it's easy a H' to come up with something satisfying, especially for an overrated artist.
No, it takes time to come up with drama that work. The comedy breathers in between isn't only for the audience but also for the artist.
Plus the editor also need to green light the drama as it very well can scare away the audience more than a slapstick filler. Just imagine if Eri was flat out dumbed, that would be a very big risk to take.
I understand that it's a new editor, they wouldn't invest in this manga just to risk throwing it out the window by giving us a conclusion/dramatic twist.
We should all be happy that the artist actually ask the readers what they want because that mean he hasn't made up his mind to only do a comic relief. :) In my book that's a good thing.

It wasn't left in the dark (Eri's story) it was killed off, due to the time skip and due to cancellling the whole engagement thing.
There is difference between leaving something in a dark and simply cutting off the story in the middle of process, and cutting off one of the plotlines completely without logical continuation possibility.
So you are way too soft on KJ. He screwed it up and it wasn't leaving in the dark, but simply cutting the plotline.
Also though Internet may not be the most reliable source but when you get SO MUCH hate that KJ got right after the end, you just have to understand that you are making it wrong. It wasn't just few hundreds spamming...It was thousand of different IP addresses which do indicate different people and no matter how much you may think the internet being too unreliable there is still something behind such incredible numbers.
Lets say Kimikiss is videly popular in internet and the game is also very popular in real life. The anime got a lot of negative opinions on internet, and what do you know, Kimikiss anime became one of the worst selling anime's of the summer, so you should not overlook the internet. Heck even some anime creators post their posts in there so you do have to know it has the influence.

Was the ending annoying for an Eri/Harima/Yakumo fan? Absolutely. Did it 'cut it off'? Hell no. All we know for sure is that Harima takes off, roams America, and shows up for the class reunion and gets a bit nostalgic over Tenma and tries to confess again. Does that mean nothing happened with his triangle? No, it means we don't know anything other than Harima left at some point. How many Manga have time skips where the couple break up? Tons. It isn't the end, it's a narrative break. Don't treat it as more than it is.
As far as your 'thousand' of IPs, I'm going to have to call shenanigans on that one.
Look, I'm agreeing with everyone that the ending was not what I would've wanted. I also agree that the Parody Rumble is less than satisfying. And finally, I concur that *if* the Parody Rumble continues with no word from the Managaka as to why he ended it like he did (ie. The Editors made me wrap it up in two chapters and the new collection just wanted the parodies), then I would be very upset as well.
All I am saying, and I continue to stress this, is that two chapters of filler could still just be two chapters of filler. I'm not saying this is a smart move, I'm not saying the filler is awesome, and I'm not commenting on the author's intelligence one way or another. What I am trying to convey here is the reason you're upset is because you *like* School Rumble, right? Just take a breath, come back in a month or two, and let's see where this new SRZ takes us. If it continues to be nothing but Parodies, I will be right there with you on Platform Disappointment.
But all this dramatic insulting of the author, screaming about how he sucks, etc, about a guy who wrote something YOU LIKED, it is just ridiculous when you haven't given the situation time to play out yet.
But should Eri's story be rushed? Some readers/viewers would rather be in the dark than having her story molested in the name of a quick ending.

SR was already nearing the 300 mark, how long did you expect it to be? I don't want to be at #637 and see Harima/Eri/Yakumo/etc. still darting around the issue.
Just imagine if Eri was flat out dumbed, that would be a very big risk to take.
Like the time when she tried to 'outwit' Tenma? :heh:

The disappointment is from what's already been shown. Rosario+Vampire II went monthly but didn't waste time with unnecessary filler, it continued the main story from the outset. SRZ should've followed suit.

If kj jumps back to the engagement issue before the time skip then we will end up having the 283 conclusion again, but if Srz continues from after the time skip, the entire engagement thing is out the window, kj has put the story in a world of problems. There was no need to have SR end where it ended, no reason at all.
Although I like your theories and hope them to be true, I would remind everyone of the song harima sings in 282 “you are my only sunshine” regarding tenma, this may be the conclusion that no one wants to accept. I would certainly hope that I’m wrong, mainly because the entire SR cast was buried alive with no closure at all (besides tenma).
But should Eri's story be rushed? Some readers/viewers would rather be in the dark than having her story molested in the name of a quick ending.
Quick ending is the best way to describe the last chapters of SR, Kjs had seven plus good years to give us a thought out ending and all he cough up was this snot covered bs.
Have you read the manga yet? I believe you said in a earlier post that you are thinking of reading it. The ending isnt the greatest.

Actually the ending about Tenmas departure would have been much better. But KJ still continued after that, started a plot line and killed it off right in the middle of it.
It wasn't left unclear, it was just basically cut down abruptly and thats what it is. He should have never started these plotlines and then it WOULD have been "other characters stories left unclear" but now it is just abrupt cutting it off (with that timeskip thing, it becomes impossible to properly follow the story where it left off as first you would know a result anyway, secondly no character development happened either concerning the events and tahts what fans hoped to come).

To my surprise only the albums covered by the Anime have been published in English and patience isn't my strong side. So yes I've read 14+ like it was a Harry Potter book, though I'm still awaiting to receive the first albums in the mail.
And I really enjoyed how the ending turned out, it was like the series prepared to turn a new leaf with Harima living with one girl while being fancied to another girl who both finally had realised their feelings for him. And more important, he had realised them as important parts of his life.
The only thing I can complain about is 282 +283 which quite honestly look like they were added in a hurry because the magazine no longer was going to publish the manga. I do not know the story behind this, but the ending is in sharp contrast to the plot development, a last minute addition.
What happened, a manga abruptly ended and an Anime stopped in mid production? Weren't there enough viewers and buyers for it to continue? Because this smells like a financial issue.
Anyway, I hope the boring and unsatisfying aftermath will be unwritten/forgotten/twisted, leaving a perfect setup for KJ to continue on after seeing the result of the poll(I hope it will be a good result).
LOL, you just hit the nail on the head without realizing it :heh:
:P :) No I just do not feel it's JK's work, it seems forced as I've elaborated upon.
Yup, and usually it's to get people excited about the next issue. Which they were until Jin dropped the timeskip bomb.
Did he do that by himself or? Because I haven't followed the development outside the series.
It's just confusing because he hasn't picked up a new project, so it's unlikely that he got bored of School Rumble.
All I was saying was that Jin did not deserve to be put on a pedestal for his writing, which is far from great. At least SR was enjoyable to read, even if it was repetitive.
I'm fairly new to Anime, so I can only compare to what I've seen.
But in the realm of romantic school comedies I feel that School Rumble is up among the best like Haruhi Suzumiya.
The characters may not be unique with an intelligent twist, but they cover the whole scale and are very likeable.
And the female characters do have a lot more depth to them than the hentai excuses like the Please series/DearS plus one can actually see why they are attracted to the male protagonist, who for once isn't a 2D excuse of himself.
I'm currently having a hard time finding a school comedy on the level of School Rumble and that's why I(like you and others) am hoping for a continuation.
Then why aren't you up in arms over what he did to Eri? To SR? Being content with sitting on pins and needles for two whole months might be acceptable to you, but I find it masochistic :uhoh:
I for one have been fortunate and watched + read it all in one run, so I guess that's why I take it more lightly :) But at least School Rumble didn't give you the Naruto treatment.
SR was already nearing the 300 mark, how long did you expect it to be? I don't want to be at #637 and see Harima/Eri/Yakumo/etc. still darting around the issue.
I do not really care about the number as long as I like the content and finally the main obstacle has been removed.
-181 really opened up for something I personally wouldn't mind reading another 200chapters of.
Because again, I can't find anything to replace the series, and I like the main characters along with the side characters.
Like the time when she tried to 'outwit' Tenma? :heh:
Sorry, I can't remember that scene, unless you refer to where Eri tried to be more pathetic.
How did the faithful audience react to that chapter?
Until he proves that SRZ is going to redeem SR's shortcomings then that happiness is on hold.
Agreed, I'm just hoping that the poll was included because of this and that he wants to continue from where 181 left off.
But we should, because it's a very jarring break that shouldn't have happened. Why else would the anime team choose to omit that portion entirely?
If only I knew, it just makes no sense to me that they would stop the Manga and Anime like this unless it was for financial reasons. :(
The disappointment is from what's already been shown. Rosario+Vampire II went monthly but didn't waste time with unnecessary filler, it continued the main story from the outset. SRZ should've followed suit.
Agreed, but that's where I fear the new editor isn't too sure about the drama part of the series.
To be honest I'm not happy with this development at all.
I'm really disappointed that School Rumble had to be ended in such a bad fashion. For this.

OctaBech, you have to remember that no one ever forces for mangaka to finish a the story in few weeks. Even shounen jump which is rather famous about their willingness to cut off manga's as soon as they can...
So if SR had a note that it should have go to conclusion it was done way WAY before the last two chapters... Thus it is either KJ got the note, ignored it completely until it was two chapters left (thus it is still his fault) or he never received such notice and it was the ending that he planned...
So yeah no matter how it might look like publishers got involved, the blame has to rest completely on mangaka.

But what you tell me doesn't explain the sharp contrast between -281 and 282-283, the in mid production cancellation of the anime and the change of magazines... if only we knew more about what happened behind the scene. EDIT: I see it's the same publisher.
Anyway, what's of importance is that there is said to be a poll in the latest edition of SRZ. :D And had the manga been mediocre then the readers would have been so engaged to how JK.. sorry, Harima end up.

No one said the manga was mediocre. Not for 281 chapters at least.
The problem is no one cancells it so abruptly unless the publisher bancrupts, NO ONE. Even shounen jump give some (quite little time but still some) time to wrap things up. Since the publisher is not bancrupt and its not even Shounen Jump I would say that it is clear that the issue is connected more with KJ himself rather than the publisher.
And as I said KJ must be aware of otaku filled boards. They are quite reliable if theuy are big ones. Kimikiss anime was met with a lot of dissatisfaction and it was clear that it will do poorly even before sales, JC Staff ignored it or simply were not ready to change things during process and ended up having a financial disaster of an anime.
It is not a reviews that do oftenly mistake as they are made by a few poeple who think they know a lot but still cannot predict the masses. These are the masses-smiluacrium of some sort thus it really helps to indicate how one or the other product is doing or will be doing. It is also truth that people from anime/game making companies post in there as well.
KJ should also know about that and he also should know abput quite a big of negative uproar his manga's ending caused, thus one can really question on how really genuine is the poll...

What makes Srz first 2 chapters so disastrous goes back all the way to Tenmas departure to the states, where her departure finally signified to fans an opportunity to develop side character, and as darknemo mentioned we were thrown amidst a fresh new plot where Harima is once again involved with two popular characters. Only to have the show shot down with 282-283 then beaten and trampled on by SRZ 1-2, Kj has strung together couple of horrible months and I could only hope he pulls it together for SR’s sake. :upset:
The way SR ended makes me think he got bored personally, because only someone fed up and bored would write a final chapter like that one in 283, the publishing company didn’t draw the two final chapters, was that really the best he could do? Couldn’t he have given some closure to popular characters or maybe some answers? The most popular KJ- blunder folks mention is the Harima Eri- Shawn engagement plot cut off, but side characters like Hanai-Mikoto-Akira love triangle was totally ignored. This helps one build a case that he left unanswered questions to later resume and resolve in a later series(SRz). :twitch:
I do feel like Srz will return to its original plot eventually but every passing month makes it that much harder to keep hopes up. :uhoh:

It's hard to keep waiting for the REAL plot to develop in SRZ since I know we'll be barraged with gags and comedic situations, but the anime and manga left us short handed in the ending with no resolution and KJ tries to make us laugh using the characters again, but it's not that funny anymore since the 283 will still be stuck in out minds until we see a new development.
Ahh...I need more NNA raw chapters to cheer me now...

Oh sorry, from Baka Updates(not spying, just looked for more info on the poll) I got the impression that you already had grown tired of the series and just wanted it to end already even before 282-283. :) Glad that isn't the case.
I do know the importance of the internet and see it as a big reason for the success of the Dark Knight and Iron man.
But it's also a question about demographics, I do not know if the Anime/manga forums cover the majority of SR's audience.
So it only makes sense to ask the readers of SRZ about what they expect to get from the series.
In any way I can't see the poll(if it exist) as a bad thing, and I hope, no believe that the series can get back on track because there's so much I still want from it.
Too many aspects which need time to develop and can't be done over 3-4 chapters.

SR has indeed been preparing for a fresh... no, for a refreshing plot. With Tenma out of the picture her sister need to and can finally explore/release her old suppressed self/ghost, which only can be done in a fight with Eri(who she has confronted before) over Harima.
And the perfect setup for this was staged in 281 where Harima moved together with Yakumo while being engaged to Eri.
Right now Harima and Yakumo just isn't a good couple because he'll just be a replacement for her sister, she needs to express her feelings and actually get mad at him.
Only weak men want a beautiful yes sayer for wife, real men want to be challenged. And I hope Yakomo will wake up from a nightmare about a wedding and realise what needs to be done, she can't win Harima by being silent.
Eri has her own problems too, but these are with her family and I suspect that Harima as her spouse will create some humiliating scenes forcing her to finally confront her dad.
Before such a confrontation I do not think she'll be able to understand what she see in Harima.
These are obviously just some brain farts of mine, but I think they give a good view of the series' future potential and explain to some why it's too early for Harima to hook up with any of these two emotionally restrained girls(sharp contrast to Tenma).

OctaBech, the problem is that all your speculations about possible Yakumo or Eri later development is still easily canceled by the timeskip. Since if story picks up where it was broken then you would know the final result - Harima still has his tunnel vision and no improvements for Yakumo or Eri, but then reading it would be pretty boring...
If he picks up after the timeskip then it is still a problem since how one can explain the standstill during the timeskip, unless one would make the whole timeskip unreal, like say, part of Harima's drawn manga...

This is basically me reaching for something that may not be there, but since the sr forum is alive for once why not continue discussion further? I think there may be a way for KJ to continue the harima-engagement scenario without contradicting 282-283 in a way that may please fans.
First of all we don’t know how much time has passed, so lets say two years, usually people can be engaged for several years, and once the reunion ends Eri asks for Harima to return and aid her in confronting Shawn and her parents. Maybe she mustered up some strength to do so after seeing Tenma‘s resilient affection for Karusuma. She convinces Harima that her parents can’t accept a stupid low life, and that he has to go to college with her if he wishes to help her out. This way the engagement is still legitimate, and he may be going to college every morning from Yakumo’s house. So what I’m trying to say is, if KJ wants to he can figure out a way to please fans and bring justice to this manga.
Im completly down on KJ, but there are several loopholes he can take advantage of to make this stuff work, thats if hes interested. :frustrated:

Anyone know when chapter 2 will be translated?
There are a few ways they can continue with the story with the ending they had.
1. He could throw out the last two chapters without explanation.
2. It could have been part of harima's manga
3. What captainsmoker said. It's not very hard for him to say alright a year or two passed. Somewhere in there Harima left to think about life for a month or two. When he got back he got nostalgic after seeing the girl he had a crush on in highschool (It happened to me on more then on occasion). And then say that alright, nothing important happened over the time break... everyone is pretty much in the exact same siguation. Except everyone is in college now.
Really all of those seem reasonable. I personally like 1 or 2.
I hate to be a downer but it's also just as resonable that the time nearly reset everyone... :( but i'm going to pretend to be an optimist, as that's just as likely to happen as 1, 2, or 3.

Don't think 2 is really plausible. I rather think that SRZ is for letting him has the time to think about the continuation of SR. Nothing enough big happened in the two last chapters to deserve a "reset" x) If he doesn't come to find any idea, I guess he would just continue SRZ as it is now until he has enough with SR world.

The way these gag chapters are set up makes it appear to me that KJ was okay with the ending too a series that wasn't suposed to be taken seriously. In all these gags, the main premise of them is Harima acting stupid for Tenma with a misunderstanding thrown in as well. If he wanted to eventually go back to the 'main story' of a post-Tenma School Rumble or at least a different kind of school rumble, he wouldn't be shaping these chapters as extensions of the original premise. It's evident that KJ dabbled in drama and serious romance every once in a while but it was also clear that he felt most comfortable writing comedy (which was smart and funny at times but is just lame in these gags). It's a shame if he continues the series to death on the same note becuase he HAS to know that people don't read School Rumble anymore for the stupid comedy--at this point, all people want is a conclusion.
I think its clear that KJ made up a lot of the storyline as he went along from week to week, given the random resets and the disregardance of certain plot elements whenever he had to make adjustments. At first it developed as harimaxtenma, then as harimaxeri, then as harimaxyakumo, then as harimaxeri again, then as harimaxyakumo, before getting muddled up in stalemate of character development predestined by poor planning. If you really think about it, the way KJ carelessly developed Harima destined him to be alone, he was so deeply in love/obsessed with one person that he could not convincingly (or at least no very convincingly) love another, but the one that he did love, he could not have. At the end, I think KJ decided to just forget about the mess of a story he made and acknowledge his work as one giant comedy--the main premise being a guy chasing a girl who's chasing another guy...and so on...
Hahahahahahahah

(I hope this doesn't fall on blind eyes, so to speak.. I see that this sub-forum's been dead for a long time)
You know, to be honest, I was really disappointed, like everyone else, it seems, with the all-Tenma, inconclusive ending sangakki gave. Having said that, I missed a whole bunch of sangakki, considering I wasn't a reader at that point (which reminds me, does anybody know where I can buy the DVD releases, so I can maybe catch up and stuff). And I was even more disappointed when I found out that Z might not going to be a serious continuation/looked stupid.
BUT, my take is as follows: I think Kobayashi at this point is himself unsatisfied with his ending and the work, and so he's starting Z back up, but he isn't completely sure what to do with it, so he has block and is releasing a bunch of, more or less, nonsense. Having said that, my hope is that he eventually figures out where he wants the series to be and brings it back to its former glory and makes it interesting and not circular.
Also, I haven't read too much of the manga, I'm still working on it, but I'd like to know from someone who is on both - is the anime very faithful to the manga? Would I miss a lot by not reading the counterparts of the first two seasons?

wow i just cheked the forum and showed up 2 minutes after you posted your question so you dont have to wait
1- yes the anime is QUITE faithful to the manga series as oppose to most other anime/mangas, but i highly recomend reading the manga since the anime leaves out maybe 1/4 of the story.
The manga is a must for all SR fans. (ofcourse the ending of SR is the only part i dont consider to be 'awesome')

Best Ending: Harima become an old man without a wife, and he work as a nauseatingly retarded artist, unlike Da Vinci.
Worst Ending: He will enjoy living happily with the best woman for him, share many precious moments together without any pain or suffering, rise their cute children and put them to Yagami High School, and go to the reunion again with their friends that also bring their own childrens, Hanai and Mikoto, Tanaka and Nagayama, and the others will participate, They'll sing together:
I remember...
The way you glance to me yes i remember...
I remember...
all the things that we shared, all the promise we made just you and i...
I remember...
The confession you said to me, brought us to be here right now...
Blah blah blah... if School Rumble based on great love story, i'll think thats the way i would thought right. All about School Rumble now is about comedy and friendship. i'm waiting for the next SRZ then...

Mh well im still waiting for every new charpter, that comes out. A big SR fan is still a SR fan after all.
Yep nothing can take away that and I won't burn my manga's and dvd's like those flame vids since that SR has and will always be one of all time favorite anime and manga. The ending does sucks like a roller coaster ride which you feel uneasy at the end.....

How do you know that it will start rolling?
I do not think it will start rolling at all. It will sink like a stone to the bottom, until KJ realizes that it's over and there are little of actual SRZ fans, and majority are SR fans hopeful (groundlessly) that it will bring some conclusion to SR.

Ohhh...I dunno what to think of this when there's no new news and a month away from the next chapter...

Well from my point of view, it looks like that charpter 1 and 2 have nothing to do with the SR manga. So its no big deal about them to reset. But .... Slowly my hope fades away, that the first charpter/s could be kind of sub story of one of Harimas mangas...(You know, like the second season began) :uhoh:

The worst part is that even jokes are not funny anymore... But again thats maybe because one got used to SR humor too much already or because of general disappointment in SR. I don't know, but whne SR manga started it was silly but funny, while SRZ looks juts silly.
kenjiharima

True. Since the original manga is build through comedy and love story plot, unlike SRZ which is just pure comedy. Also add the effect of the sudden end of the manga.

Well, I don't even know how long SRZ will last but I do not think it will be long. From what I see and read in japanese boards, SRZ is not getting much support... And it keeps decreasing with time as more and more get just tired of hoping in SRZ to see a conclusion for SR...
Even KJ will realize it (if he hadn't yet) when SRZ will be cut down by the magazine...
I think he still has his ultimate trump card under his sleeve, named 'Eri/Harima/Yakumo', and if he would do a few chapters based on this triangle he might boost SRZ up a little, but it won't work for ever. Not with the ending SR had...

SRZ Ch. 3 RAW
http://rapidshare.com/files/161303458/SRZ_03_MXSNOW.rar.html
Enjoy.
P.S.: Well, Harima's mangas are not selling any copy and he's out of money. Desperate and hungry, he fell asleep and dreams about a man who said that "the first thing that he grabs after the dream, that item will bring him fortune and he must keep it safe".
When he wokes up, he grabs his fish bone pen and he began to walk on the streests. After a couple of accidents, he trows his pen and almost hits a big muscular man's head. The big guy tells him that he has a really good arm and asks him to join to a base ball team.
Harima becomes really rich and famous and his pen is secure in a safe deposit, untill, Tenma calls him and tells him that she will visit him.
Harima gets very excited about that and he leaves his cigar on the carpet by accident and he burns all of his possesions.
After that the only thing that survived the fire is his pen, then Harima says: "At least, i still can draw mangas".
End.
Another parody, at least, this one made me laugh xD!
I still hope that someday KJ will continue the original story again, or at least, improve Natsu no Arashi.

Natsu no Arashi is still gaining interest from the fans.
Though his masterpiece ended with a fail pie end, he still has good jokes to tell about it, but really think he should concentrate on Natsu no Arashi, the plot is intriguing, but still starting in a slow pace unlike school rumble, first manga was filled with laughs a sure hit.
He's now taking NNA slowly and surely.

The big difference of Natsu no Arashi and the School Rumble, i like SR better than Natsu no Arashi. I like SR so much cause i was wondering the fate of the main characters. Still, with the continuation of this series will surely bring out desperate comments , angry comments , maybe... even horrible. KJ made SR fan really surprised, but, i was thinking of how KJ put SRZ in his mind... he shows us mystery over quality. With more than fifteen pages. He thought he could give us some entertainment... I really couldn't read his thought.

I refuse to even acknowledge any other manga exists by KJ until he finishes School Rumble with the real ending and conclusion it deserves.

He's always like that ever since his interview. Though I still give him credit for making Hentai Kamen One shot less ecchier and more comedy and Natsu no Arashi for an interesting plot.
He's a good comedy writer and an entertainer. Though when it came to end things it was a fail or was he forced to end it?

A genius and a retard both excel in surprising people and we all know KJ is one of the most random story tellers out there. Indeed.
Well, haven't been keeping much track of SRZ after the first chapter failed to impress and it sounded like it never was... but noticed the 3rd chapter release and read it anyway (along with the 2nd chapter)... still unimpressed and unmoved
Though i did like the cameo of the one and only "father or anime"... most appropriate
What i found interesting was how the chapter ended...
Harima had it all, Fame fortune and great success... Then he heard Tenma's voice and went running after her which resulted in him loosing everything and without him winning Tenma
It sounds like the definition of what happened to Harima's character with the ending of the manga... he is doomed to never find happiness... any potential happiness he might find will be abandoned for Tenma, and she will never return his love and as such denying him the happiness he would get through her... it's all very tragic...
y'know... looking at the past couple of posts is really kind of sad to hear... so much hate for KJ; though the hate is rightful, it's still sad... I mean, just 2 chapters before the end of school rumble we were all praising KJ as such a great writer who had only but a few flaws... but then in just 2 chapters, his name became tarnished and bastardized. y'know i really wonder what the overall opinion is on him; like beyond this board and among like the japanese SR fans... It seems so sad how the mighty had fallen... but i guess its what KJ deserves after the way he ended the series; any hate he receives is his own fault... honestly, is there anyone other than him who atleast tolerated, much less liked, the SR ending?
though i do find it funny that whenever i mentioned SR to someone who has yet to read it, i tell them "it's a must read... but whatever you do DON'T read the last 2 chapters"... SR was overall a really golden series and one really crappy ending is all it takes to tarnish that
I think I want to cry after I read chapter 3...
I love this series very much but why KJ did this...
I hope some real plot next time... I didnt like to drop manga or anime...

his name became tarnished and bastardized
True True...He's doing it so great spinning us and always surprising us with laughs always such as now SRZ is funny, but you can't laugh remembering the fail end of the manga. Too bad when the wheel stopped on a bad puck for KJ.
Relating his real life in this new chapter as seen in his interviews he likes drawing manga and loves it. He said even if he does anything he would never give up as a mangakka since he loves and has a passion for drawing. He's good at comedic stories TRUE, but fans are now afraid that he might fail them at his end. Getting the support back is hard for KJ. But Iam still glad NNA still is doing well without no trace of SR in it in the later chapters.
And yes I would still recommend School Rumble as a GREAT read without the last 2 chapters and the anime OVA ending. Though it's bad we can't unsee and undo it not unless it's all Harima's dream. Stop at the KIDS MEAL FACTION chapter and make the last 2 chapters a dream end.
Natsu no Arashi seems to be doing good btw it's been in covers of mags recently...

I think Tenma should be erased from Harima's life forever so he could go on to be what he really wants since his love is doomed from the start of the show and he's PROVEN to be a one man woman so we need to get rid of Tenma in his life no matter what so he can move on, Tenma as I see now on the latest chapter is the hindrance for Harima's character to further develop.
usual spoiler dude came. But he accidently leaked his handle name password at the same time. :heh:
Takes place in the past, a Christmas story.
Harima, Tenma, and Yakumo are all in elementry school. Itoko was in highschool.
Harima and the two sisters actually ran into each other when they were little, but none of them remembers it.
It's a bittersweet story of Yakumo wanting "parents" for Christmas.
Harima is a young (grade school) boy who hates Christmas, but wants to get presents for his brothers since their parents are so busy and doesn't have time for it. He gets pissed, and kicks a can... that hits a little girl, walking down the street with Christmas cake she just bought.
Harima accidently destroys christmas cake Tenma had bought for her sister Yakumo, who hates Christmas just like Harima (This was back when Yakumo was the always-angry child who took out her anger on her sister all the time).
He asks what he can do to make up for it. She asks him to grant her sister's wish. Harima tries to get Itoko (young Itoko-sensei in her high school uniform!) to be the "mother" role and he plays the "father" role for them. She declines, so Harima tries to play the father role as he goes to Tsukamoto house wearing a beard.
Yakumo gets angry at her sister for doing something she didn't ask for, and yells at Tenma. Harima slaps her, telling her to stop. After some crying and Tenma doing a german suplex on Harima, the story ends with Harima taking them to the roof of Yagami highschool to show the beautiful view of the city, with Itoko reluctantly accepting the role of the mother.

Expect KJ to do more flashbacks. Maybe this is the reason why he hasn't given up the idea of the Tsukamoto sisters x Harima pairing.
Shawn/Eri/Harima arc...we still got to wait a long time...
Personally I was looking for the conclusion in whole engagement thing rather than this.
Exactly. Jin's gonna have a hell of a time explaining that one, if he ever does.

What i'm really wondering is who's the guy with the mustache... at first i want to say harima or Itoko's father... but if that happens to be Yakumo and Tenma's father... er, that brings YakumoXHarima to a new level; i mean i knew it was sorta going there, but that's overkill right there
Personally I was looking for the conclusion in whole engagement thing rather than this.
Exactly. Jin's gonna have a hell of a time explaining that one, if he ever does.
Heh, that's a story that would warrant a whole manga series of it's own...
Seriously, it doesn't seem like KJ understood what he did by the end of 281... The HarimaXTenmaXKarasuma love triangle was finally come to conclusion, it was dead and buried... and with those last few chapters... Harima finally moving on from his Tenma loss and now opening his eyes to see the REAL Eri... and that god blessed sistuation he was in between Eri and Yakumo... KJ had brought to life the, YakuoXHarimaXEri love triangle. He concluded one and opened up the serious possibility of the third... i mean all Yakumo needed was for Harima to start thinking that their was another "reason" for her to help him on his manga and she would be an official contender (Harima was blind to the true feelings of both Eri, and Yakumo... he's opened his eyes to see the real Eri, now he needs to do the same for Yakumo)... kill one triangle and open up a new one
And considering how class 2-C still had one more full year of school to go through before they graduated and move on with their lives; and it took KJ a full series to tell just ONE year... this is easily a story that KJ could have played upon and told for an entire manga series... and as long as Harima doesn't bounce back to Tenma, whatever ending KJ gave would be likely be genius... oh i should not forget to mention the situation of HanaiXSuoXAkiraXYuukiXInabaXYakumo (love Hexagon?!?!?) which was still up in the air (i'm still not sure what pairing to root for there)... and was only recently made more complicated thanks to Akira (seriously, who the hell could have seen that one coming)... so much potential... why KJ, why?
Expect KJ to do more flashbacks. Maybe this is the reason why he hasn't given up the idea of the Tenmax Harima pairing.
correctd it for you... seriously, with the ending KJ gave school rumble, you KNOW he has no respect for the possibility of YakumoXHarima

Dont understand...
slap?
harima reveal his jerk face without glasess? flashbak i think...
New character? i dont think so, perhaps he's just harima that pretend to be businessman, just like his new character as baseball player.
Just one thing that makes me laugh...
Harima <if its true> slap the kind, beautiful girl like yakumo, Just... Why he didnt slap TENMA?
hehe... yakumo must be tough enough to received arm of strong guy in her cheek. He, there are too many scenes in School Rumble that inflicted slappings, but this time... awesome :D
Iam a harem guy. Expect me to give any male lead 2 or more girls. :p
2 girls doesn't make a harem... that's just a love triangle...
but i'm guessing you must love where Hanai was left off... he's definatly got a harem with how many girls he's involved with... 3 of them seem to be crushing on him on some level(inaba, Yuuki, Akira(still can't believe it), one refuses to believe such a crush exists(suo), and the last one is getting crushed on by Hanai instead(yakumo)... man, get him living with all 5 of them and you got yourself an official harem series
Dont understand...
First off, i don't think that's harima... Harima is likely the the kid in the jean jacket in the top right
I'm guessing the the guy in the suit and tie is an adult who just happens to look a lot like Harima... possibly Yakumo and Tenma's father... which only adds to the dynamic of Yakumo seeing her father in harima
What i'm guessing is that at this point Yakumo was still a tougher girl that didn't like tenma much... just like in the flashback we saw before when Tenma ruined her book by coloring in it; Yakumo used to not like Tenma and found her to be stupid and annoying
prediction... this could be the moment when Yakumo went from temperamental and assertive and went completely Moe and loving of Tenma... a transition i always wondered how it went since it's such a drastic change in character

Doesn't matter as long as HAREMA has girls. Itoko-nee-san there can also be a key to his harem.

lol nice pictures.
Mikoto looks strange with tenmas hair in her face. Like a beard. :heh:
Well yeah, the second season and the manga after the second season was for me interesting to see the triangle of Yakumo, Harima and my cuty, Eri. ;)
But seriously, im glad, that the SR comes back.. I mean stories/chapters, that make actually sense.

Its interesting to see how the SR starvation has finally pushed fans to be satisfied with utter garbage... the next chapter is NOT SR, its ! SRZ ! which means its more of KJ buying time until we get a continuation of the story, if any at all.
I really dont care if Harima met mini Tenma in high school or Michael Jackson in manga club it falls into the same category as the first 3 issues parody/flash back garbage. Sorry this stuff just stinks to me. :twitch:

As long as it's related the School Rumble, he's at least FACING the right direction.

Yeah. Just within the story of SR.
Not some silly funny comedic gag.
Also that slap by Harima might have caused Yakumo to change seeing them a bit older rather than the Yamo-chan.

Well slowly but surely it's getting closer and closer to school rumble. First chapter, completely unrelated except for the characters. Second chapter, a brief mention of Class 2-C. Third Chapter, touching up on Harima's manga career. And the latest one, history of School Rumble.

ask moshika, he's the one that pops up with latest SR images.
Doh, posted on the wrong thread.
here's the short summary of 5
After becoming a successful celebrity, Nishimoto decides to run for the Mayor.
Hanai is his runner-up, but Nishimoto hires someone to get hit by Hanai's car in attempt to take him out of the race.
Nishimoto comes to Eri with suitcase full of cash to ask support, but she dismisses him as a low-life.
Later, Mikoto (married to Hanai) comes to Eri
She's stuck between wanting to be a supportive wife, and emotions of soon to be mother (she's pregnant) who wants her husband at home more often.
Eri honors Mikoto's feelings, and decides to try and recover Hanai's reputation. She does intend to punish Nishimoto for his dirty acts.
Eri leaks scandals of Nishimoto to Yakumo, who is working as an editor at the manga magazine.
Yakumo wonders "why me?", and Eri tells her she's just there to tell her about sightings of Harima (reported by "T"), and this is just on the side.
She says something to the extent of the fight is only between two of them, so let's do our best, and leaves.
Later day, due to the scandals revealed on tabloids, Nishimoto is taken out of the race.
"T" (Akira) is the source for the info.
